So, when I arrived at Avengers tower, I thought that I was going to be stuck at the receptionist. She seemed pretty skeptical when I made my offer, and when I tried to tell her that I met the Avengers at the raft yesterday, she seemed not to believe me. However her disbelief had to be put on hold when the nutso AI named Ultron began his attack on Avengers Tower. Several security door closed around the receptionists desk and one door several robots smashed through the window. I blew them up and blew my way through a security door looking for more killer robots.
The first Avenger I found working my way through the building was Acting High Chancellor of Genosha, Wanda Maximoff. She seemed glad to see me, and appreciated my help but something seemed off about her. After taking out several more robots, I started to tire, and Wanda pulled out of her bag a small glowing crystal and offered it to me. As I took it, I felt stronger that usual. I asked what it was, and she replied, "Crystals like these are called ISO-8. Instead of being an Infinity stone, the stone Wilson Fisk had was one of these crystals. From what I understand, these crystals are a common byproduct of Infinity Stone usage. I found several on my way to this room as Ultron somehow has the Mind Stone. Just carrying them enhances people, for lack of a better word. Several were found at the raft as well." I saw where she was coming from about those crystals. After the two of us cleared out another room full of robots, we heard a voice over comms saying, "Avengers, please head to the roof."
Wanda said, "That's Vision. My boyfriend." Wondering what kind of name Vision is, I followed her. Then when we saw out the window a robot the size of a building heading toward Avengers tower, I found myself wondering what I had gotten into. Thankfully that Ant-man guy appeared outside and stalled the giant robot as another smaller android did some technical thing with the tech stuff at the top of the tower while the rest of the alliance defended him from Ultrons robots.
After a few moments of battle the android said, "All done!" and all the robots including the big one instantly stopped. The android went up to the big robot and extracted what I assumed was the Mind Stone. Floated back to the alliance and said, "Ultron is contained."
As I arrived Miss Marvel greeted me with "Hey, Girlfriend. Knew you would become like us quickly." She then turned to Ghost-Spider and said, "Pay up."
Ghost-Spider replied, "My wallets with my civilian clothes. I'll pay next time I can."
I asked, "You bet that I wouldn't become a superhero."
Ghost-Spider repleid, "Nah. I just bet that it would take longer." After that I couldn't help but smile. Partly because Miss Marvel considers me her friend, and that both her and Ghost-spider had faith in me."
Anyway it appears we are right into the alliances next mission. When Ultron searched for a suitable host robotic body, he activated a bunch of Mutant-hunting robots called Sentinels, who are now heading toward the Xavier school. So the alliance filled up the jets and took off. It would take half an hour to get there, and Grandma encouraged me to start a converstion with someone, but still, it might not be wise to get close to Wanda Maximoff, but I noticed that during battle, she seemed like her mind was elsewhere, and she didn't seem that enthusiastic to reunite with her boyfriend. Anyway as a result I said to her, "So, Wanda, right? You didn't seem really in your game today. Is that because of what happened with your dad?" In case you haven't paid recent attention to the news, the reason Wanda is now acting high chancellor of Genosha is that recently her father Magneto recently invited Wanda to Genosha to show how great it was there. Then Genosha was attacked from the outside. Genosha mobilized in defence, but Wanda wasn't buying it, and managed to expose that Magneto was behind the outside attack. I believe that's called a false flag operation. Magneto and his followers who were involved in the operation were stripped of their power and Wanda was named Acting High Chancellor until such point as a new High Chancellor is elected by the Genoshan Council.
Suffice it say, Wanda replied, "It's not about my dad. If my Dad wants to apologize for lying to me, I might be willing to listen. I have nothing else to say about him. It's just that Vision and I have been together for a long time. The honeymoon of our relationship is over, and now things have happened to make me have doubts as to if I want make our relationship last long term.
I asked, "What things?"
Wanda repiled, "Firstly, I want to have a child someday and Vision is obviously unable to make that happen. Secondly one of my first duties as High Chancellor is to have high level trade talks at the UN. The X-men received intelligence that the talks were going to be targeted by anti-mutant extremists so the X-men voluteered as security for the talks. It was my first time working closely with one particular X-man and I found I enjoyed his company as much as I enjoy Vision's company."
I took her hand and said the most simple response I could think of. "Be HONEST with Vision. He deserves that from you."
She said, "You're right, of course. You know what I wonder if my most recent dreams are telling me to let what I've made with Vision fall down."
I asked, "What dream?"
Wanda replied, "For awhile I dreamed about living in a series of Sitcoms with Vision, but just yesterday I had a dream where I am standing in a cave, with mystic writings over all the walls. The centerpiece of the cave was a twenty foot high statue of myself. I was feeling so full of self-loathing that I used my powers to collapse the cave on top of me."
You know, now that I think about it, I had my own weird dream recently. I was fighting crime with this girl my age wearing a red bird costume, and as soon as the bad guys gave up the ghost, Miles showed up and he greeted her with kiss. It's making me think that if I don't make a move soon, Miles is going to find someone better for him that I am. I hope I don't screw this up.
Anyway, It looks like we are finally arriving at the X-mansion, so I am going to cut this diary entry here.
