It was late in the evening as the trio were camping in a wild area on their way to Hearthome City.

Cynthia was training her Pokemon with Aaaron as she had Togepi sparring with Heracross as her Togepi had shown a interest in being a battler like the rest of her other Pokemon.

"Alright Togepi use Pound!"

"Heracross counter with Night Slash!"

Soon both Togepi and Heracross soon ran up to each other and engaged in a short duel with their respective moves before sliding away looking impressed by each other.

Soon Dahlia clapped causing both trainers and their Pokemon to look over to her.

"You too hungry? I have prepared the stew for all three of us." Dahlia said to both of them.

Soon both Cynthia and Aaron decided to end things here for now as them and their Pokemon soon went over and began to have the stew and discussed what route they needed to take next onto Hearthome City.

"By the way, I wish we stay in the town nearby. Nurse Joy told me that there have been a lot of recent kidnappings around this area and that they usually happen at night." Dahlia said to them as she shuddered in fright.

Cynthia looked stunned as she asked her friend.

"Kidnappings? Do they know why?"

Dahlia shook her head no saying that Officer Jenny and her crew were having trouble identifying the culprits, as if they moved in the shadows it would seem.

Cynthia couldn't help but also be a bit frightened by that as well but at the same time she had her Pokemon with her, both of which had recently evolved so she felt fine.

"Well I am not worried. We are moving on from this area tomorrow anyways so I doubt that it is going to affect us that much." Cynthia said rather callously to them.

Soon all three of them continued to eat their dinner as they watched the sunset and soon got ready for bed.

Cynthia soon went inside her tent but couldn't help but have a bad feeling of sorts as she went to sleep.

Soon she drifted off into dreamland and slept for some time. However, a few hours later she soon heard two people outside her tent whispering about something.

Thinking that it was Dahlia and Aaron she went outside to tell them to get back to sleep, only for her to see two adults, a woman and a man outside her tent.

The man quickly slapped a soaked-filled rag on her lips as Cynthia was knocked out and taken by them in the dead of night.

Soon morning came quickly, as Dahlia and Aaron soon got up. Dahlia smiled feeling the cold air hit her face combined with the gentle heat of the early morning sun.

It was a wonderful feeling.

Dahlia soon went to Cynthia's tent to wake her up as she had a tendency to be a heavy sleeper.

"Hey Cynthia, wake up. Aaron wants your help to make breakfast."

There was no reply, Dahlia thought that was odd as Cynthia usually got up very quickly after she called for her.

Heading into her tent, she was shocked to see what she saw. She saw signs of a struggle and several broken items as Cynthia's Pokedex and Badge Case were thrown around her sleeping bed.

"AARON!" Dahlia said screaming.

Aaron soon came over and asked what happened before seeing the struggle in Cynthia's tent and his eyes widened.

"No…" Aaron simply said.

"We need tell Officer Jenny. Now." Dahlia said to him.

Soon Aaron and Dahlia soon returned to the nearby town and immediately went to the police station and was floored by what they saw.

Several groups of people alongside their Pokemon were in the station talking to the police due to their friends and loved ones missing and not being able to find them.

Dahlia overheard a couple of groups talking about what they experienced, two sisters worried about their brother, a group of friends losing their youngest member even a couple worried about their young daughter.

It was heartbreaking to see and hear.

"Can I have everyone's attention please? We understand you all are worried about your loved ones and their kidnappings and rest assured that we are doing everything we can to make sure that we find them. If you all can form a line behind the counter to make sure we get everyone accounted for." Officer Jenny said to them.

Soon everyone including Aaron and Dahlia soon got in line. They had hope that they would be able to find Cynthia and everyone else soon but for now this was all they could do.

And they hoped that Cynthia would still be ok when they found the people who had taken her.

Meanwhile Cynthia soon woke up and found herself not in her sleeping bed.

She knew that because instead of the comfortable warmth her sleeping bag provided her, it was a cold hard floor instead as she woke up.

After rubbing the sleep out of her eyes, she saw what appeared to be metal bars in front of her and realized she was in a jail cell. Rushing to the front of the cell she saw countless other people stuck in the same cells as her as mysterious guards dressed in black clothing patrolled the area as everyone looked miserable.

Cynthia looked back into her own cell, there was a boy slightly older than her with fiery red hair as he was simply humming along not really bother by where he was and looked to be pretty content. The other person was a girl around her age and looked to be very unhappy as she clearly didn't want to be here.

Cynthia didn't know if she should go over to them and talk to them but she did know that she should try to.

She instinctively reached for her belt only to realized that she didn't have her Pokemon with her.

"Ok what the hell have I gotten myself into." Cynthia thought as she hoped that her friends would find her soon.
