Shane must now prove to them that he is a new man and earn their trust once more. The group must learn to trust him once again as they hear more about the year Shane was on the road. Together, they must survive and some must find redepemtion.

Daryl and Morgan head back to Virginia with their new family. The two men must reunite with their friends and show them the men they have become and help their new and old family get to know each other and deal with new problems as they arise as they build their new home and try to save as many people as possible. Trust, will, and love will be put to the test as they return home.

Beth and Daryl are reunited after she escapes from Grady with Noah. Now that they are back together with the others, they try to figure out their relationship. They quickly realize the "you depend on anybody for anything" philosophy doesn't apply when it comes to them. Beth knows she needs Daryl but does he need her? This is a Bethyl slow burn.

Elena was always composed and methodical. She knew how to survive the world way before it finished. She wasn't looking for attachments, for people to call a family. Because attachments are liability, make you weak especially in this new world where dead are walking and living are more dangerous than before.
