Chapter 18 Preperations.
The scene shows the schools gym. Multiple students are busy decorating the room.
The people in the room take in the scene, looking at the beautiful decoration the students where busy with, but not saying a word. Most off them are still shocked by what they had seen earlier and Mr Nolans admittion.
Above a ladder is Sue Snell also helping with decorating the room.
The people in the room turn to look at Sue. Despite not going to Prom she was still helping decorating the gym.
Sue notices the looks of pity she is getting and merely shrugs.
''Tommy is still going to prom and I would have him and Carrie to have an amazing Prom''. Says Sue.
She turns around to kiss Tommy on his cheek.
Her boyfriend gives her an smile and pulls her in her arms.
''Thanks babe'' Says Tommy Ross.
Sue looks around and sees Tina Blake and the Wilson twins looking at a computer. They are laughing about what they are seeing. While Sue doesn't see what they are watching she has her suspicions.
The people in the room give the trio a look.
The trio notices Sue looking at them but once they look at their former friend Sue looks away in disgust. Under the stair Heather Shrys watches while Sue becomes pale.
Heather Shrys: ''Sue, hey, are you okay''?
Sue shakes her head and gets of the ladder as soon as she can. Once she has done that she runs through the room right to the girls bathroom where she ends up puking offscreen.
''Oh gross!'' Says Billy Delois.
Sue watches her future self puke.
''Are you alright sweetie''. Asks Mr and Mrs Snell.
The unspoken question was clear.
''Are you really alright with not going to Prom''.
Sue nods.
''I'm fine mom, dad''.
Sue then lowers her voice and whispers to her parents.
''Maybe it all the stress I have been going through''.
''I mean I had an fight with Chris and now the others...
Before Sue can finish her voice wavers and tears start to appear in her eyes.
''Oh Suze'' Whispers Mr Snell.
He and his wife hugg their daughter.
''I didn't know they could be so cruel''. Whimpers Sue.
''And what does that say about me?''
Mrs Snell shakes her head.
''Now Sue you might have made an mistake with some of your friends, but Tommy is a good boy and what about Norma and Vicky?'' Says Mrs Snell.
''This says more about them then about you dear, you aren't responsible for what your friends do''. Says Mr Snell.
''You have shown you can change''.
Mrs Snell takes her daughters hands in hers.
''I know you have known Chris, Tina, Nickkie and LIzzie for a long time, but if they don't change and keep being cruel after this, I think it would be best for you to break with them and spend more time with your other friends''.
''It would make me feel better at least, I can't bear to look at Chris at the moment''. Finishes Mrs Snell while shaking her head.
Sue nods, thinking about what her mother and father had said.
''Do you think Norma won't be angry'' Says Sue.
''In the past I stood her up a few times to hang out with Chris and the others''.
''She never got angry and we still hang but...''
''That is up to Norma you probably did hurt her, but you can at last try and show her you have changed''. Says Mrs Snell.
Sue looks to both her parents.
She is so lucky to have them.
After seeing how Carrie mother treats her
I thought you were cancer.
All her little problems with her parents seem like nothing.
She stands up and not caring what others think hugs her parents.
''Thank you for being such great parents''.
Both Mr and Mrs Snell are surprised, but hug their daughter back, holding her tight till the movie starts again.
Afterwards she leans on the bathroom door, trying to calm down. She then walks to the crane, probably to wash, but then looks up and notices broken glass. It are the remains of the mirror Carrie broke on acident with her powers.
''That still hasn't been cleaned up''. Asks Vicky Hanscome.
''Appearently''
''I will let the concierge know to clean things more througly'' Says Principal Morton.
The next scene shows the inside of White's bungalow.
The camera zooms in on Carrie who is working with her sewing stuff pointing a needle in some fabric. The camera then shows Margareth in the living room. The woman is holding a book, probably the Bible while looking at her daughter. Carrie notices this and stares at her mother, causing Margareth to look away.
The room watches the interaction between the two woman. It is clear things haven't been the same since the confrontation between daughter and mother.
Carrie looks at the scene, feeling sad at what her relationship with her mother has become.
''But hasn't it been broken for a while now''. Whispers a little voice.
The same voice that suspiciously sounded like Mrs Desjardin had disagreed earlier with her plan to show Momma the movie God had sent her.
Carrie shakes her head, for now concentrating on the present.
The screen turns once again. We are shown a window that gets broken. In its place the faces of Billy Nolan and Chris Hargenson appear. Once the glass is broken both teenagers manage to get inside some sort of storage room.
''What the hell are you two doing?'' Says Mr Ross suspiciously.
''Breaking in''. Says Irwing gleefull.
Both Chris and Billy go still.
Billy: ''There we go''.
The camera shows Carrie again. She is holding a siccer, cutting some kind of fabric. Margareth dares to look up and watches her daughter work.
Billy Nolan and Chris are shown again. This time in a small dark space, with a stair before them.
''Hey isn't that the backroom of the gym?'' Asks Ruth Gogan.
The teachers look more closely at the scene.
''I think you are right Mrs Gogan''. Says Mr Rodney.
''Of course I am, I spend more time there then anyone else in this school''. Says Ruth Gogan.
''But what I am curious about is what the hell are you two doing there at that hour''. Says Ruth pointing to Billy Nolan and Chris.
The other people in the room don't say anything, they all have the same thought as Mrs Gogan and have at this point giving up on having their students or children not use provinity.
Billy is holding a coolingbox which he takes with them.
The room looks at the coolingbox wondering what was inside it.
Billy Nolan watches himself and feels a slight chill going through his spine.
The two walk through the room. After a while the two stop and Chris uses her light to shine in a room. The room is revealed to be the gym where people earlier were working in to prepare it for prom. The room is now finished and looks beautiful. Chris looks heartbroken to the decorations.
Chris in the present time looks at the scene., missing the looks of pity she is getting from some people.
It looks beautiful.
And I am all going to miss it because of my damn pride.
Carrie is busy with her sewing machine preparing what is now clearly becoming a dress. The camera changes angles and shows that Carrie is using her powers to controle her sewing machine .
The people in the room look at what they are seeing and smile, feeling the lightness of the scene getting to them.
''Your so getting better at this,''. Says Jessica Upshaw while nodding Carrie.
Carrie looks at the scene, not reacting on what Jessica says and does.
''Carrie?''. Says Jessica gentle but Carrie again doesn't respond.
Jessica's smile wavers and she looks alarmed to Freddy Holt and Mrs Desjardin who look just as worried.
A bucket gets pulled up by a rope. The one pulling the rope is no other them Billy Nolan. Chris Hargenson watches from the ground and gives him directions.
Chris Hargenson: ''Billy, hurry up''.
''Oh, my God''.
Billy Nolan: ''When the time comes,
I'll let you pull the rope, okay?''.
Lila Thibodeau looks, looks and then sees
Oh, OH.
Her hand flies to her mouth, keeping in the scream of horror that wants to escape.
Her eyes go to Carrie, does she understand the true horror on what Hargenson is planning?
Please, please she doesn't deserve this.
Chris Hargenson: ''Oh, I plan on it''.
A drop of blood ends up om Chris face and she shudders.
The room turned around to look at Billy Nolan and Chris Hargenson.
All of them had gone pale by now, suspecting what was in the buckett during the scene, but the splatter of blood was the last evidence they needed.
People open their mouth, forming a sentence, but nobody knows what to ask.
Agent Geraldine stands up.
''Alright, let's all calm down''.
The people in the room start talking. creating much noice.
Geraldine takes a deep breath.
''I SAID CALM DOWN''
The room goes quite for the most part. People turn to look at agent Geraldine.
Geraldine signs, looking at the angry faces around her and realises something.
They aren't going to let this go, there is no way people will go sit quietly and wait.
People have grown fond of the girl.
''Let's think about what we have been shown till now and try to piece it together ''.
Before John Hargenson or anyone can say something she holds up her hand.
''Whatever happens is going to be shown anyway it is better we prepare ourselves''. Says Agent Geraldine.
Around her the people mutter, mostly cursing at Hargenson but no one disagrees, seeing the logic in her words.
''What does she mean by pulling the rope''. Asks Norma Watson quitely.
''She is going to pull the rope and get the pigsblood on Carrie''. Says Lila Thibodeau.
''And from the place that buckett is placed it is has to be when Carrie is on stage''. finishes Lila Thibodeu.
The room turns to look at the pale girl. The thought is sickening, but not one that didn't cross their mind.
Mrs Desjardin turns around to Carrie. She wants to hug the girl, but Carrie faces away from her.
''When could Carrie be atop the stage?''
''She isn't part of the drama club or helping decorating the gym''. Says Ruth Gogan.
''No, but the prom King and Queen will be''. Says Lila Thibodeau.
Sue gasps, beside her Tommy starts shaking in anger.
''She is going to use your good deed to further humilate Carrie''. Says Lila Thibodeau who is now shaking. Beside her her twin sister and parents reach out to hug her.
The room turns to the teacher and principal.
''Can the ballets for Prom King and Queen be changed if one of the nominees takes another to prom''. Asks Mrs Snell, holding her now pale daughter.
Principal Morton sadly shakes his head.
''It hasn't happend often, but yes it can''.
The room explodes. The police quickly surround Mrs Hargenson and Mr Nolan in fear things might turn violent.
Mrs Desjardin looks at Carrie. Whatever that had been on Carrie's mind earlier to have taken a backseat for now at the revelatation of Mrs Thibodeau.
While she is absolutely shocked at what Hargenson could have planned
And the thought alone makes her blood boil, that one of her students is capable of such cruelty.
And while she still has a lot of questions.
Is this the reason why we are shown this?
All she feels now is relief that Carrie is responding again.
When the girl had began to pull away and become more quite earlier, her first instinct had to reach out to her. But nurse Lopez had stopped her saying she needed to give Carrie some space to progress things and that if they tried to push Carrie might end up rebutting them.
While she had agreed with Ella, it hadn't sat well with her. Seeing Carrie pulling back, when her student was finally opening up to them had been difficult and had tested all her restrictions to not reach out to Carrie.
Well, for now Carrie was looking at them again, with Freddy Holt and Jessica Upshaw hugging her , but she looked really uncertain.
Rita felt her stomach turning. She couldn't explain why, but something didn't feel right. She promised herself once this scene was done she and Carrie would talk.
Around her things had calmed down, or at least as much as they could. But there was a heaviness in the air that wasn't there before and the whole room was quite when they movie decided to play again.
A beautiful red dress is shown om a mannequin. The face off Sue Snell is shown, she looks with longing at the red dress her mother picked up earlier. She takes the dress off the manequin and puts the dress in her closet behind other clothes. She then walks back and looks out the window, deep in thought.
Carrie is seen putting the last touches on her dress. The dress is now almost completely ready and on a manequin. Carrie makes some last alternations and looks with pride and joy at her dress.
The room watches silently, being slightly in awe of her work and trying to smile at the girl, but finding it difficult knowing what is in store for her.
Carrie watches her future self with longing, putting the finishing touches on the dress.
It is beautiful, I still can't believe I will be allowed to wear it.
It feels like a dream. And after I can make all the clothes I want.
Carrie starts giggling, the though of herself dressed in pretty dresses with belts and skirts with leggings feels foreign, but has never more reachable then now. Her good mood sours when she remembers what Chris and her minions are planning to do and feels herself getting down from her high.
A whirlwind of emotions goes through her.
I know Chris feels sorry, I felt her and her boyfriends emotions all the way down her, but nobody seemed to understand that. I know Jessica and Freddy were a bit surprised I wasn't more angry, they were more angry on my behalve then I was.
I am still angry, but the Lord says to forgive and if it is true and he has sent these visions, that means he believes Chris can change. And hasn't she has proven she can? All of our sins are shown so we can repent for what we have or would have done.
The scene changes again, showing Tina Blake, the Wilson twins and Heather Shrys.
The girls are what appears to be a saloon. All girls have woman working on their hair while they talk.
Heather Shrys: ''Did you guys see Sue today?''.
Wilson Twins: ''She looked awful''.
Heather Shrys: ''I know Chris isn't coming, she's suspended.''.
''Do you think she'll crash''.
Tina Blake: ''You never know with Chris, right?''.
Some mirthless laughter can be heard.
The scene changes now showing the girls get their nails and make-up done.
Tina Blake: ''So, I think I'm going to have the after-party''.
Tina takes her phone and starts to text.
The Wilson twins are shown having their hair done. Both look first in the mirror before leaning to the side.
''No''. Say the Wilson twins in union.
''What do you think?''. Asks Lizzie.
'' Down?''.
''No''. Says Nickkie.
Their hair gets done again.
''Yeah''. Say the Wilson twins.
The scene changes again. We are shown Tommy Ross, George Dawson and others getting ready for Prom.
They are in a tuxedo shop. We watch while some of the boys get their messerments taking. They all end up dressing in their tuxedo's but not before pulling some shenigangs.
The parents and students felt a little smile breaking out at the boys ettics, while the mothers silently gushed about how handsome their sons look.
''Whoo!''.
The scene shows a pair of golden shoes, before we are shown the boys before a mirror. Tommy looks at himself, clearly thinking.
The screen turns black.
The people in the room wait for the next scene to appear but nothing happens.
''Was this it?' Asks Freddy Holt surprised.
Before someone can answer the screen changes to show:
10 minute break, afterwards we will continue.
And done! Well the first new chapter has offically been posted! I hope you all like it and some of the surprises it contained. I didn't know if some people suspected something but to be clear we didn't hear so much from Carrie or Desjardin was because Carrie struggled with her own thoughts and to give me an excuse to write more about the other characters.
Because I didn't want to let everyone wait and I was so excited to post it once it was done, I haven't let the person who removes all my grammer mistakes see this, Sorry for that. I will sent it right now to him and will update this once I have the improved version, despite that I still hope you enjoy this and reviews are much appriciated it isalways nice to hear people enjoy my story. I had one person ask if I planned to do other similair stories once I am done with this one. On that I have the next thing to say:
For now I want to finish this, I don't know how many chapters I will need to post. I suspect I need at least 6 chapters to wrap this story up properly. If I end up writing more stories after this, I think a Five Nights at Freddy's watching the movie doesn't sound that bad or a cruel intentions or coco watching session. I think I would try something that hasn't a fanfic like this, but who knows. When inspiration strucks it strucks.
