It's been a while...since I've updated this...sorry...I'll get back to it!

It was lunch time as I sat down, my two close friends sat in front of me, eyeballing me. I knew I had a lot of explaining to do about how my ex knew my daughter's name.

"So?" Gina asked, as I sighed.

"He only learned her name yesterday...but that was because...let me start over! Johnny came to my house last night to apologize and tell me that he and Nanette broke up. Then I called him stupid, because, well...he is. Anyway, he tells me if Miranda was as dim as he was that I shouldn't call her stupid, and then my dumbass told him that Miranda was a brilliant little girl...but I said Miranda's name and..." I groaned.

"Do you think it was because of what happened yesterday when you were getting your schedule?" Gina asked.

"Probably." I sighed as Gordy leaned towards Gina with a questioning look.

"What happened yesterday?" He asked as Gina sighed.

"I'll tell you later." she said as I began to pick at my food. I looked up at Mrs. Baker looking frantically around the cafeteria, our eyes locked as she rused towards me.

"Angela!" She exclaimed, "Your parents called, they said it was an emergency!" I felt my heart racing.

"Wh-what happened?" I asked.

"I don't know...they just told me to tell you to call them back." I began to shake as I pulled out my cellphone, I started to rush to the bathroom, but Gina stopped me.

"Let us know if everything's ok!" She said as I nodded, making my way to the bathroom. I pulled up my contacts, calling mom. She answered.

"Angela?" She asked, in a fearful way.

"Mom?" I began, "Wh-what happened?"

"I swear, I don't know! I put Miranda down for a nap, I went to go check on her...but she wasn't in her bed. Your father, brothers, and I looked everywhere...but we found her...shoe in the front yard." I heard her starting to sob as tears began to weld up in my eyes as well.

"Mark and Derek are on their way, we've called the police."

"Okay..." I squeaked as I hung up, collapsing on my knees, I began to sob. I felt a hand on my shoulder, as I looked up to Gina's face.

"What happened?" She asked as I wiped my tears.

"Mia's missing." Her eyes widened.

"How?" She asked.

"Apparently, Mia got out while no one was looking." my tears began to flow heavily again.

"Can you walk me to the office? My brothers are supposed to pick me up." She nodded, helping me to my feet. I had to lean on her for support, because of my shaky legs.

My brothers were already waiting for me at the office. They embraced me, which was rare for them to do.

"Miranda..." Was all I could say, as I began to cry.

"W-we'll find her, sis!" Derek said.

"Everything's going to be fine!" Mark finished, but I feared for the worst. Gina placed her hand on my shoulder.

"We're here for you." and with that she gave me a hug. My sobs became louder as my brothers led me to the car. The drive home was silent, except for my sobbing.
