"A Tale of Two Towers"

"But you and Kubfu got one more trial to complete," Mustard says to Victor.

"We do?" Victor asks, as Kubfu walks up to them.

Mustard nods his head, "To complete your training at the Master Dojo, you and Kubfu must reach the top of one of the Towers of Two Fists."

"Kub, fu?"

"What's the Towers of Two Fists?" Victor asks.

"The Towers are landmarks on the Isle of Armor, as well as locations of training for Kubfu," Mustard begins. "They both were built a long time ago by a tribe that was closed with Kubfu, allowing them to reach their full potentials."

"Kub, fu."

Victor looks at Kubfu, while Gloria glances at him.

"It's common for wild Kubfu to try and climb one of the Towers on their own," Mustard continues. "While some succeed, some also fail."

"Sounds tough," Gloria says.

Mustard holds his hands behind his back, "For this trial, Kubfu and you must work together to climb either the Tower of Waters, located on Challenge Beach, or the Tower of Darkness, located on Challenge Road."

"Tower of Waters… or Tower of Darkness…" Victor looks down, talking to himself, before looking back ahead at Mustard. "Which Tower should we take?"

"That is a decision you and Kubfu must make," Mustard tells him. "And you have until morning to make it."

Mustard walks away from the ground, approaching the Master Dojo.

"Kub, fu…" Kubfu looks away.

"Which Tower…" Victor says to himself.

Later that night, Honey is yawning as she walks into the dojo's kitchen to see Gloria turning away from the sink with a glass of water.

"Gloria? Why are you up so late?" Honey asks.

Gloria looks at the water in her glass, "I guess I couldn't sleep…"

Honey smiles, "You're worried about Victor and Kubfu, are you?"

Gloria takes a drink of water, then sighs, "I know how strong Victor has gotten since we first left Postwick, but I'm still concerned about what he must face."

"You're a good friend, Gloria," Honey says.

Gloria smiles, then starts to walk by, when Honey turns to a window.

"Look like you weren't the only one who couldn't sleep," Honey says.

Gloria turns and sees through the window is Victor, standing in front of the Master Dojo.

After a few moments, Gloria comes outside, approaching Victor, who is looking at his Rotom Phone in his hand.

"Victor?"

Victor quickly turns to her, "Oh, Gloria. I-I didn't hear you…"

"Thinking about the Towers of Two Fists?" Gloria asks, as she stands next to him.

"Yeah," Victor looks back at his Rotom Phone. "I tried to look up information on the Towers on my Rotom Phone, but I couldn't find any."

Gloria holds her hands behind her back, "Guess that would make it too easy."

"Yeah…" Victor says, before he pockets his Rotom Phone.

"What about Kubfu?" Gloria asks, as she spins to stay in front of him. "Master Mustard said that you and it had to decide."

"Kubfu is just staring at the distance," Victor says, turning to face the Master Dojo.

Gloria follows his glance and sees Kubfu standing on the dojo's roof, staring at the distance.

"Could it be looking at the Towers?" Gloria asks.

She then turns to see Victor is looking down, lost in thought.

"Victor, how are you doing?" Gloria asks.

Victor looks at her for a moment, "I'm… I'm not actually sure…"

"The Towers are landmarks on the Isle of Armor, as well as locations of training for Kubfu," Mustard begins. "They both were built a long time ago by a tribe that was closed with Kubfu, allowing them to reach their full potentials."

"'Reach their full potentials'..." Victor says to himself. "To help Kubfu reach its full potential…"

"Victor, you not afraid that you won't be able to help Kubfu reach its full potential?" Gloria asks.

"That's not it, at least not entirely," Victor turns to her. "I'm just not sure which Towers to face." He looks up at Kubfu. "Which Tower will help Kubfu reach its potential."

Kubfu continues to stare at the distance.

The next morning, Mustard is standing outside the Master Dojo, watching the Field of Honor, when he turns to see approaching from the dojo are Victor, Gloria, and Kubfu.

"So, Victor, have you made up your mind?" Mustard asks.

"I thought long and hard about this, and I realized something," Victor starts. "The Gym Challenge, the Champion Cup, here, I only got this far by trusting in my Pokémon." Victor turns to his Pokémon. "So I decided to let Kubfu choose."

Mustard smiles, "Right choice, Victor. You've passed the hurdle already."

"Go on, Kubfu," Victor says, to his Pokémon.

"Kub, fu," Kubfu nods its head, then jumps up onto the dojo's roof.

"How will Kubfu choose?" Gloria asks, as they watch it.

"I honestly don't know how any Kubfu choose their Tower," Mustard explains, as Kubfu looks around. "But I believe they are able to sense their own inner power, which will lead them to the Tower that could bring out their greatest strengths."

"Their greatest strengths…" Victor says to himself.

Kubfu continues to look around, before turning to the side, and points to the left. "Kub, fu!"

"Over there?" Victor looks in the direction Kubfu pointed.

"That's the direction of Challenge Beach, and the Tower of Waters," Mustard says, stepping past Victor.

Victor nods his head, "The Tower of Waters then."

"Kub, fu!" Kubfu jumps off the roof, landing next to Victor.

Victor smiles at it, "Ready to go, Kubfu?"

"Kub, fu!"

"I wish you all the best of luck," Mustard says. "And remember, no matter the obstacle, as long as the bond between Trainer and Pokémon is strong, then you can overcome anything."

Victor, Gloria, and Kubfu nod their heads.

"Kub, fu," Kubfu turns in the direction it pointed, before it starts to run toward. "Kub, fu!"

"Hold on, Kubfu!" Victor calls out, as he and Gloria start to chase after it.

Kubfu, Victor, and Gloria continue to run.

"After everything that has happened, I truly feel confident that with Kubfu and my other Pokémon by my side, as well as Gloria and her Pokémon, we can face anything," Victor thinks, as the three continue running.

"A difficult decision had been made, and now our heroes set out for the Tower of Waters. What kind of challenges will they face on the way, and will Victor and Kubfu be able to climb the Tower?"
