A/N: Brace yourselves, everybody, for things are about to get heavy! As KagamiPINKAgreste once said, "It's a fun school rumors and teens are all the same craziness will insue quickly."
Another morning came and went, and the students went about their daily business. Class 1-A was no closer to discovering the traitor than they were yesterday, but they weren't about to give up yet. After all, it would be unbecoming of them as hero trainees to just give up. Meanwhile, as they'd done during their stay at UA, Adrien and Kagami sat with each other at lunch.
"So, Kagami, how are you enjoying your stay at UA?" asked Adrien.
"I love it here! All the students are so friendly! Well…except for Bakugo."
Adrien scratched his head. "I can't figure that guy out, either. I know his Quirk allows him to create explosions, but does he really need the attitude to match?"
"Still, I find his honesty preferable to Chloé's arrogance."
"Ya don't say!" said Plagg. "I still don't get why they invited her over!"
"Well Plagg, she is the daughter of the mayor of Paris," said Adrien. "Oh, and Kagami, has anyone told you how beautiful you look in that school uniform?"
Kagami chuckled. "Speak for yourself, Adrien. You look really handsome yourself. Then again, you look good in pretty much anything."
Adrien smiled. "Well, I am a fashion model, so it comes with the territory."
Kagami's look turned serious. "Having said that, I have a concern I need to discuss…"
"Hey Red, not to interrupt, but Kid Cat here hasn't given me my camembert yet!" said Plagg.
Adrien slipped Plagg a slice of camembert. "Here you go, Plagg! Now Kagami, what was your concern?"
"I've been observing Marinette and Luka, and I noticed that ever since we got here, they've been spending more time with other students, namely Todoroki and Midoriya."
"So? Maybe they're just making new friends. I mean, there's no rule against us making new friends here, is there?"
"No, but…have you even seen them? First of all, Marinette cut in on Todoroki and Midoriya during the dance party we had a couple of days ago. I also saw Midoriya and Luka hanging out on the school grounds while Luka was playing guitar, and she seemed touchy-feely with him. There's no doubt in my mind that those four are cheating."
"Confucius says: man who fishes in another man's well often catches crabs," said Longg.
Kagami groaned. "Longg, this is no time for jokes. We need to stop those four before they find out the hard way."
"What do we do?" said Adrien.
"Let me talk to Todoroki. He trusts me, so I'm very certain he'll listen to me."
"And the others?"
"I know Uraraka and Asui are good friends with Midoriya, so maybe I can talk to one of them."
Adrien gave a thumbs up. "Good thinking! I'll see if I can talk to Luka, too."
Adrien and Kagami weren't the only ones interested in LukaDeko and Todonette, either; a certain pink girl and her invisible bestie were eagerly discussing the subject, too:
"Hey Mina, have you noticed Midoriya and Todoroki lately?"
"What about 'em, Toru?"
Hagakure bounced around excitedly. "Well, first of all, Marinette cut in on Todoroki while he was dancing with Midoriya. Also, not only has Marinette been acting hella goofy around Todoroki, but I walked by his dorm yesterday and heard him tickling her!"
"You don't think…?" Ashido gasped excitedly and put her fists on her cheeks. "OH MY DAMN CHERRY BLOSSOMS!* I can't believe Todoroki's going out with two girls! He's such a pimp!"
Hagakure giggled. "Yeah, we should call him 'Pimporoki'!"
Ashido laughed. "Girl, you're so bad!"
"Oh, something's bad all right, and it isn't you!" said Jiro. "Do you two even realize how much trouble Todoroki and Midoriya are in?"
Ashido gave a dismissive hand flap to Jiro. "Oh, like you don't want a piece of Todoroki as well?"
"I mean, I know I do!" said Hagakure.
"Hey, I'm not a dishonest person!" said Jiro. "I know better than to go fooling around with other girls' boyfriends!"
Kaminari had a serious look on his face. "For once, I gotta agree with Jiro. I mean, I love hot girls too, but I'm not about to go fooling around with girls who are already taken."
Jiro smiled and wrapped an arm around Kaminari. "Because you know what'll happen, right?"
Kaminari smiled nervously. "Heh heh…right. Anyways, how do we stop Todoroki from cheating on Midoriya?"
"It's not just him. I also saw her holding hands with Luka on her way to the dorms more than once. If I can talk to Iida, maybe I can knock some sense into one of 'em."
Kaminari gave a thumbs-up. "Great idea, Jiro! See, this is why I love you: you're super smart!"
Jiro smiled. "That's because I don't jam my brain every time I go to a million volts!"
"SHUT UP!"
Unbeknownst to the UA students, a certain blonde mayoral daughter had been listening in to their juicy conversations.
(So, Marinette and Luka are cheating on each other? Perfect! Let the games begin!)
Later on, Deko was in her dorm, playing Perfect Dark on her PC. Sure, there was nothing like playing it on a Nintendo 64, but the PC hack offered greater graphical capabilities, plus she could still use an N64 controller via a USB cable hookup. Then, while she was engaged with the game, she heard knocking on her door.
"Hold on a sec…"
Deko paused the game and went to see who was at the door: it was Uraraka and Tsu. She smiled.
"Hey Uraraka! Hey Tsu! Come on in!"
Uraraka and Tsu did so, and Deko closed the door behind them.
"So, what brings you here?" asked Deko.
Uraraka had a serious look on her face. "Deko, we need to talk."
Deko's look turned serious as well. "Oh? What's this about, then?"
"Midoriya, we know you're cheating on Todoroki with Luka," said Tsu.
"And what makes you think that?"
"Don't lie to us. We've seen you holding hands with him, ribbit."
"Wha…? No Tsu, I haven't!" Deko waved her hands back and forth.
Uraraka clasped her hands together. "Deko, please don't do this! You've worked hard to earn Todoroki's love and trust, and it would be awful if you threw that all away on some silly fling!"
Deko crossed her arms. "Uraraka, even if I was seeing Luka behind Todoroki's back, it's not like I intend to replace Todoroki. Besides, you saw Marinette cut in on me during the dance party…right?"
"Deko, I beg you, don't lie to me! If there's anything I hate, it's having one of my friends be dishonest with me!"
"Midoriya, I highly recommend you listen to Uraraka," said Tsu. "She's one of your best friends. You wouldn't want to hurt her feelings, would you?"
"Tsu, I'm telling you, I'm not cheating!"
Tsu pulled out her phone. "That's not what my phone says."
Tsu showed Deko a picture of her and Luka holding hands, which caused her to gasp and clench her fists.
"YOU…I can't believe you'd go behind my back like that! Delete that RIGHT NOW!"
"I'll make you a deal, Midoriya: promise me you'll stop cheating on Todoroki, and I promise I'll delete the photo, ribbit."
"And I'll make you a counter-deal: get out of my dorm! As a matter of fact, get out of my life! Both of you!"
Uraraka gasped and formed tears in her eyes when she heard this.
"Oh Deko, I feel like I don't know you anymore!"
Uraraka began crying, while Tsu wrapped her arms around her and led her out of Deko's dorm, but not without some harsh words from Tsu:
"Midoriya, you should be disappointed in yourself. I know I am."
With that, Tsu closed the door behind her and Uraraka, while Deko dropped to her knees and put her hands on her cheeks.
(Tsu's right; what am I doing? This was supposed to be a harmless little fling, but I…I destroyed two of my most important friendships! I should be disappointed in myself. I wanna make this right, but I don't know how!)
Meanwhile, Luka was in his dorm, strumming random tunes on his acoustic guitar when he heard knocking.
"Come in."
The door opened, and it was…
"Hey Adrien, what's up?"
Adrien had a serious look on his face. "Luka, we really need to talk."
"About what?"
"Listen, I was told that you were cheating on Marinette with Midoriya, and if this is true, then I really wish you'd stop."
Luka set his guitar aside. "OK, that sounds like some silly rumor to me!"
Adrien shook his head. "I dunno, the way people are talking about it, it seems pretty truthful to me."
"OK, let's say I was seeing Midoriya. It's not like I wanna get rid of Marinette permanently; it's just a little fun."
Adrien clasped his hands together. "Luka, this isn't like you! You've been so good to Marinette, and I'd hate to see you throw it all away by cheating on her! Besides, ask yourself: how would you feel if she was cheating on you?"
Luka froze and broke out in a cold sweat. On one hand, he was enjoying Deko's company, but Adrien's words just hit hard. He couldn't bear the thought of Marinette cheating on him, so he responded thusly:
"You're right, Adrien. I only intended for this to be a fun little fling, but…" Luka facepalmed and shook his head. "God, I wanna make this right, but I'm afraid of how she'll respond if I confess to her!"
Adrien smiled. "Just tell her the truth! Even if she gets mad at you, if she still loves you, she'll forgive you at some point! Besides, we've been through worse, right?"
Luka nodded. "Right. Thanks for the pep talk, Adrien!"
Adrien gave a thumbs up. "You're always welcome, Luka!"
Adrien left Luka's dorm, while Luka was left to ruminate over the situation:
(Adrien's right. This isn't just some harmless fling! What if Marinette finds out, or worse, she's cheating on me as well? I should go out there and face her if I'm a real hero, no matter how bad this may hurt.)
While Uraraka and Tsu were attempting to talk to Deko, Marinette was in her dorm, designing some new fashions in her sketchbook. While she was doing so, somebody knocked on her door.
"Come in."
Marinette put down her sketchbook and pencil as Iida entered.
"Good afternoon, Marinette."
Marinette smiled. "Good afternoon, Iida! What's on your mind?"
"I have a most grave matter that I must discuss with you."
Marinette lost her smile. "Oh? What's up?"
"I overheard rumors that you're cheating on Luka with Todoroki. Is this true?"
Marinette smiled nervously. "No! Don't be silly! Why would I cheat on Luka lolololol?"
"You sound like a terrible liar. I'm afraid that I must advise you against this ill-mannered tryst."
Marinette waved her hands in front of her. "Iida, I'm not lying! I swear I'm not cheating on Luka lololololol!"
"Even so, I must remind you that this could be construed as conduct unbecoming of a UA student and that you could be in serious trouble with the UA faculty."
Marinette gasped as her eyes widened. Sure, Todoroki was fun to be around, but getting in trouble for going behind Luka's back? That really hit her like a knife in the back. She gave her response to Iida:
"Listen…Iida…I don't wanna get in trouble or anything, but I…I'm afraid of what Luka would do to me if he found out."
"That being said, I feel it would be most advisable for you to be honest with Luka, even if it proves to be excruciating."
Marinette averted her gaze briefly. Then, she steeled her facial expression.
"You're right. I gotta face my fears! That's the Ladybug way!"
Iida nodded. "I wish you the best of luck, Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Farewell."
Iida left the room, while Marinette sighed dejectedly.
(God, I feel so awful now! I never intended for this thing with Todoroki to hurt anybody! Guess Chloé was right…NO! Don't let her get in your head, Marinette!)
As for Todoroki, he was hanging out in his dorm, headbanging to "Slave to Freedom" by Tygers of Pan Tang. He could just barely hear knocking on his door.
"In a moment!"
Todoroki paused the music and headed to his door. When he opened it, he saw Kagami standing there.
"Hello there, Kagami. What's on your mind?"
Kagami stomped into the dorm and shut the door behind her.
« Todoroki, tu devrais avoir honte de toi! »
« Quoi? Qu'est-ce que j'ai fait? »
Kagami thrust her index finger in Todoroki's face. « Ne joue pas timidement avec moi ! Je sais que tu trompes Midoriya avec Marinette ! »
« Tu ment ! Je n'ai rien fait de tel ! »
« Suis-je ? Alors pourquoi as-tu dansé avec Marinette à la soirée dansante ? »
« Pour ton information, Marinette est intervenue en premier ! J'étais juste par politesse ! »
Kagami put her fists on her hips. « Oh, et je suppose que le fait que tu sois laissé aller à son charme maladroit n'est aussi que de la politesse, non ? »
Todoroki crossed his arms. « Tais-toi, Kagami. Tu ne sais pas de quoi tu parles. »
Kagami grabbed Todoroki by the collar. « Todoroki, je te préviens, si tu n'arrêtes pas de tromper Midoriya, je serai obligé de te dénoncer à la faculté de l'école. »
« Oh ouais!? Cóż, pierdol się, ty brudna kurwa!"
Kagami gasped, and her eyes widened. « Je n'ai aucune idée de ce que tu viens de me dire, mais tu devrais avoir honte ! A plus tard… Shoto Todoroki ! »
Kagami stomped on out of Todoroki's dorm.
(Maybe Kagami's right. As much as I enjoy being with Marinette, is it really worth upsetting Midoriya? I have to stop this, but at the same time, I don't wanna hurt Marinette's feelings.)
Todoroki took a pause to take in what just happened, and then resumed the music as well as his headbanging. Then, he heard a knock at his door.
"What is it now, Kagami?"
Upon opening the door, however, Todoroki got a surprise when he discovered that there was nobody there. A quick look around still showed nothing. He was about to close his door when he heard the sound of paper beneath his foot, so he looked down and found the following note:
"Todoroki,
I know you want a fight with me, so I'm offering you a chance to beat me up without retaliation. Meet me outside the dorms. Come at me, you bastard.
-Chloé"
While not one to attack without provocation, and while not one to hit girls, Todoroki decided that if Chloé was offering him a free shot at her, he hated her enough that he decided it was worth it, so he put his shoes on and exited his dorm.
"Hey Todoroki, where are you going?"
Todoroki paused and turned around, only to see Marinette standing there.
"Oh, I was just going for a walk," replied Todoroki.
"Hey, what a coincidence; so was I! Can I come with you?"
Todoroki smiled. "Sure!"
Todoroki and Marinette exited the dorms, holding hands with each other once they were sure that no one would see them.
"So, how's it going?" asked Marinette.
"Not too bad, especially considering I get to take a walk with you."
"Any particular reason you wanted to take a walk?"
"No reason. I just needed some fresh air."
"OK."
When Todoroki and Marinette got to the main courtyard, Todoroki paused.
"What's wrong?" asked Marinette.
"Oh um…nothing. I was just expecting someone."
"Who?"
"Promise not to tell?"
Marinette put her hand over her heart. "I promise!"
Todoroki leaned closer to Marinette and whispered to her:
"It was Chloé. She challenged me to a fight."
"What? Why would she do that?"
Todoroki shrugged. "I'm not sure. I guess she got fed up with me."
Marinette scratched her head. "Weird, I've known Chloé to be an arrogant person, but she's never struck me as the type to pick a fight. Now that you mention it, though, she gave me a message telling me to meet her out here as well."
Todoroki stroked his chin. "She did? Something doesn't smell right here…"
Just then, Todoroki's attention was drawn by a couple of familiar voices:
"Nice to get some fresh air, isn't it, Luka?" said Deko.
"It sure is!"
Todoroki dropped his jaw when he saw his dear Deko holding hands with Luka, causing him to respond thusly:
"DEKO! Have you been cheating on me with Luka!?"
Deko waved her hands around. "No, it's not like that!"
"Yeah, we're just really good friends!" said Luka.
Marinette put her fists on her hips. "Are you? Do really good friends hold hands with each other?"
"What are you getting at, Marinette? And how do I know you're not cheating on me with Todoroki?"
Deko gasped. "TODOROKI! Have you been fooling around with Marinette!?"
Todoroki blushed. "What!? NO! I haven't! I swear!"
Deko clenched her fists. "You're lying to me! Your face says everything!"
"You rotten bitch!" said Marinette. "How could you take MY Luka from me!?"
"Todoroki, you're gonna pay for stealing my Love Song!" said Luka.
"Not if I make you pay first!"
Almost instantly, the four cheaters busted each other up in a massive cartoon-style cloud of violence, which ended with everybody repeatedly yelling "I HATE YOU!" at each other before fleeing to their respective dorms crying.
Back in Paris, this outburst of negative emotions hadn't gone unnoticed by the one and only Hawk Moth:
"Ah, heartbreak. Such a sad thing, yet such fertile breeding ground for my beautiful akumas."
Hawk Moth created four akumas and sent them on their way.
"Fly away, my little akumas, and evilize them!"
Little did the students of UA know, they were going to be in one of the greatest fights they'd ever been through.
