Prologue: A Dull Life

At the start, it sounded like a great idea. Training to be a hero for fun.

The fun didn't last long.

I think I need to explain the situation a bit. Meet Saitama, currently 25 years old but he is bald (sadly). After saving a kid from the monster Crablante, he began training. 100 pushups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats and running 10km every day.

He became strong. Maybe too strong. He realized that when with one punch he beat the 170.000-Year-Old-Cicada Larva. He was more focusing in finding a bathroom, so he ignored it at first.

Then, it happened again. Okay, a coincidence.

Then, it happened again. Okay... maybe they were weak? Yes! That must be!

Then it keeps happening. Over. And over. And over again.

Soon, the part of 'fun' was excluded from the equation of 'hero for fun'.

His answer was simple, look for a new hobby. He kept doing his routine because at this point, it was the only thing keeping him sane.

It took some time, but he did it! He found his new calling in life!

A coffee shop/restaurant!

He discovered it after working at McDonald's. Seeing how bad the food actually was, and that even his cooking was better, he took classes and, BOOM! The Fountain was born.

It is a small business located at Z-City at the business district. The rent was cheap, but to keep expenses to the minimum, he lives in the Ghost Town, where the rent is free.

Genius.

It took some time, but The Fountain became a somewhat popular place for happy hour or lunch. He runs the place alone (keeping expenses at the minimum, genius!) and he gets entertained.

But... the feeling of nothingness... is still there.

He keeps training, even though he gave up on being a hero long time ago, he still keeps doing it. It may look like a waste of time, and it might be, but what if this coffee shop/restaurant thing doesn't work out? What if he goes back to do nothing again. His strength, is his one thing keeping him sane.

This, is the story of Saitama, The One Punch Man, The Strongest Man in the World, that only wants to find his place in the world, and live a happy, simple, normal life.

Next Chapter: The (not wanted) Apprentice

A/N: Fun fact, I got inspired by listening to Daddyphatsnaps 'The One Punch Man'. If you are into Nerdcore I recommend it to you. Also, next chapter will be longer, this is just a prologue.
