Traveling along the halls of the building known as Echo Creek High was a young male going about the course of his day like any other day. Arriving at a locker he opened it up to which contained books, some school materials, and a mirror.
The image in the mirror was that of a sunny blonde young male, lightly tanned with cerulean blue eyes and thin lines of hair on his cheeks. He was tall, wearing a black shirt garbed with mostly orange with black striped cargo pants under a pair of black and orange sneakers.
Though his peaceful routine was interrupted when an announcement from the intercom called for him to report to the principal's office.
"Yo what did you think Taiyou did?
"Taiyou in trouble no way?"
"Guess even Taiyou isn't perfect."
He ignored the whispers as he made his way to the principal's office.
And as he approached the door to the front office, his eyes rested on the familiar figure waiting for him.
"Principal Skeeves-" There he was the highest authoritive figure of the school sans the superintendent and he was carrying a crate of gold and jewels? "…you wanted to see me?"
The man was only not only short and stout, but was also balding with light brown hair, brown eyes, black eyebrows, and a small black mustache. The man also wore glasses with black square rims, a dark gray suit with a light purple undershirt, a purple bow tie, and dark gray dress shoes.
"Ah, Naruto, there you are." The man was probably one of the only people in the area that used his given name."Yes, I wanted to see you because I have a special assignment for you. You see, we have a new foreign exchange student who just joined our prestigious ranks-" Skeeves continued, as he and the blond approached his office. "…and I chose you to be her guide and help her comfortably transition into our society."
"And why me in particular?"
"Well, her parents wanted to make sure she was well looked after. After all, with your reputation for taking after your guardian's exceptional aptitude I'd figure you'd be the best person for the task.
"I'm not sure if I'd be the best…" he drifted off as he caught sight of another individual as they stepped through the doorway to his office.
And when the two stepped through the doorway, Naruto was greeted by the sight of another individual stole his breath away.
Cute didn't even began to describe her. As he gazed at her he took in every feature. She had long lustrous blonde hair that went down to her knees, with bangs that overlapped her eyes and eyebrows. Her eyes were sky blue and shined with much enthusiasm and excitement. What stood out the most were the pink hearts on her cheeks. Were those tattoos? How'd she managed to convince her parents to do that?
Upon inspecting her more he noticed many other things like her short stature that was a few inches taller than five feet tall with a developed and perky chest wide hips and long legs. Her outfit was that of a sea green short-sleeved dress with a white collar, white lace on the sleeves and skirt and a pink octopus on the front along with a pair of pink, and orange leggings, a pair of dark magenta boots with a rhino design and finally a little yellow star-shaped side bag with a face which was slung over her shoulder.
"And yes I've spoken to miss Arisawa and she agreed to be the host of the student exchange program." Skeeves continued, much to the disbelief of the blond. "…so I figured who better to show her around? Now if you don't mind..." He pushed open his door and walked out of his office. "I'm off to the Ice Cream Store. Daddy's gonna get all 32 flavors!"
With that, the two blonds were left standing alone in the Principal's office.
"Why hello there!" and not a second later, Star slid up to her new target. "Looks like the two of us are going to be spending a lot of time together. I'm Star, are you as excited as I am?"
Between her affectious smile and the glint in her eyes he couldn't help but be won over. "Sure, let's get to that tour."
First thing first he led her through the various hallways of the schools giving her a general overview at what classes were at. He followed it up by showing her the cafeteria, gym, and auditorium.
The tour finally ended with the two of them on top of the school. Being both a foreign exchange student and attractive Naruto knew Star would eventually be hounded by most of the student body for one reason or another, so he brought her here to prolong the inevitable and to get to know her better.
He had to commend her for being a ball of energy because she seemed excited to making new friends. "I'm a natural when it comes to making friends you know. Comes with being a Magical Princess and all."
He took her declaration in stride. After all in the past few years the supernatural was becoming a real part of this world despite most people being fearful and resistant to the idea. There is still many clinging to their beliefs or using religious interpretations to explain what was going on even if it wasn't a one for one interpretation. Not to mention this wasn't his first life.
"A princess, from where?"
"A place called Mewni." Star replied, and seeing the look of confusion, she elaborated. "It's in another dimension so you probably won't know about it unless you might have access to a pair of Dimensional Portal Scissors."
"I never heard of it. Then again, the farthest I ever was the moon without dimensional travel, but I never had that ability myself. A friend of mine had that power though. So, you're inter-dimensional humanoid being. That's' interesting. So how much magic can you do?"
"I can do a few things." she waved the 'wand' in her hand and a trail of golden sparks came out. "I only just got it so I'm not really good with magic like my mom is; she doesn't even need a wand to do magic!"
"Huh, nothing like a wooden stick." He murmured, referencing the Harry Potter series he had experienced in the passing. All and all he was amazed that here was an actual magical being right beside him. It felt a little less lonely with another outsider here with him. "What else can you do?"
Star aimed the face of the 'wand' at a stray butterfly, watched as a beam of energy was fired out of it and hit the creature a few seconds later, and jumped back in shock as he saw the butterfly transformed into a giant, monstrous version of itself, and let out an angry roar before snatching up one of the students. Said student screamed in terror as they were carried away by the flying beast. Star blushed at the result. "Yeah, like I said… I'm not really that great at magic."
"What about you? What can you do?" She practically bounced as she sat.
"Well I don't use magic, but I use an energy called chakra." Forming a cross he created a second copy of himself. "Allowing me to channel my energy to do various things, like create copies of myself."
She let out an excited squeal. "That is so cool!"
"Yeah, it took me a long time to get proficient in using chakra. So, I think you shouldn't be so down about your progress. I know it may not seem like it, but I'm almost certain your mom struggled when she first started out just like you did."
"Yeah, right." Star snorted. "Everything's so perfect for her. So prim and proper. I bet when she got the wand, she got her spell in the first try."
"I understand that feeling, back when I first started training there were a few geniuses that made me question my abilities at time, but I never gave up. I was determined to prove myself and I never gave up. All you got to do is keep at it and I'm sure you'll develop your ability to use wands with your spell in no time."
Star took his words to heart. It was nice having someone encouraged her instead of just expecting perfection or having to live up to some expectation.
As he showed her a few more things she couldn't help but be enamored by each new technique he used. "In fact there's no better time like the present. Tell me everything you know about magic and maybe I can help you learn how to harness your magic better. Before long you might not even need a wand you know."
"Really?!" She excitedly beamed as her eyes formed into stars and she squealed, "You are the best!" She threw herself forward, tackled her new friend to the roof and wrapped her hands around his neck in appreciation, "Hugs!"
Naruto's face lightly burned as he twisted his lower body slightly to hide the effect, she was having on him. He didn't want to scare or unnerve his new friend by coming off as over eagerly over overtly sexually aggressive.
Naruto blushed at the action and found himself returning it after a moment of hesitation.
Thankfully the ringing of the bell signified the end of the day which prompted a change of scenery.
Bringing Star home he gave her the grand tour of the home.
The interior of the house is focused around a large central hallway serving as the main avenue of traffic and entrance area to the adjacent rooms. The hallway flows into a large, wide staircase that provides the main means of egress from the entertainment area of the house to the private rooms on the second floor. Four formal rooms with sixteen foot ceilings, pocket doors, fireplaces and tall windows form the main block of the building.
On the first floor, the hallway and front parlor still retain the original wallpaper from 1882 with classic Anglo-Japanese asymmetrical designs and exotic motifs. The other rooms have been redecorated to approximate the original wallpaper and paint colors.
Off the main hallway, to the right, is a small sitting room. The fireplace, situated on the interior wall facing east, has a tall mantel of birchwood with turned spindles flanking a rectangular mirror supporting a tapered hood. The ceiling is painted pressed metal with a curved crown molding.
The height of the window is emphasized by a dado panel of wood with molded trim beneath each window. This style of window is repeated throughout the fenestration of the main block of the house.
On the south side of the hall is the large front parlor. This room contains original wallpaper including ceiling panels of small birds and orange flowers with vibrant leaves of green and yellow set upon a light blue background.
Continuing down the hallway, there is a center arch of decorative painted columns and molding with ornamental keystone designs. The archway serves not only as a support for the upper floors, but as a visual break to make the main hallway feel less imposing.
The fireplace is located on the western wall of the room and has a tile-bordered hearth of a more complex design with "Scenes of Shakespeare" tiles surrounding the firebox.
Across the hall is the formal dining room. The fireplace is located on the east wall of the room and is of wooden moldings with a large mirror over the mantel, bracketed by electric candles and tiered overmantel. The dining room has panel doors on the west wall, one of which opens to the pantry and continues to the kitchen, and the other door opens to a small work and storage area.
The kitchen is a simple room with a large service chimney on the west wall and a sink and drainboard on the east side of the room. The small work and supply room is entered from the kitchen and the dining room with doors to the east and west respectively. Another door to the northwest of the workroom serves as access to the main hallway under the staircase. The basement can be reached from the interior by a door and set of steps in the northwest corner of the kitchen area.
After serving as the entrance way for the main rooms of entertainment, the hallway then serves as a grand entrance to the rooms above. The staircase is open to the second floor ceiling and upon reaching the second floor landing, the balustrade forms a balcony overlooking the staircase.
As you reach the second floor landing, and are now facing east, there are bedrooms to the north and south. To the east, is a small room that serves as the entrance-way to the second floor balcony. The second floor has four main bedrooms, a bathroom, and a tower room.
The west wall of the main block and can be reached from a small hallway that runs between the bathroom and the master bedroom. The hall ends in an entrance to a bedroom to the north. To the southeast of the landing is the master bedroom. A door in the northwest corner of the master bedroom opens to the north bedroom, which also can be accessed by an entrance from the bathroom and the hallway. Off this hallway is the staircase to the attic and the third-story tower room.
The south side of the second floor has two bedrooms: i.e. one in the southeast corner of the main block and one on the south side. The south bedroom is accessed through an ancillary hallway.
The third floor is the attic space with a finished room in the tower used as a meditation room.
Heading back down to the second floor he directed her to the room on the southern end not too far from his where she would be staying.
"Yeah, I can work with this." Star walked out of the room and aimed her wand at the entrance. "Sparkle Glitter Bomb Expand!"
Naruto shielded his eyes at the bright flash that encased the entire space of the room, and as he opened them, and saw the aftermath of Star's 'spell'.
"Wow, this room is definitely quite you." He said as he walked in and looked around.
"Uh-huh; uh-huh!" Star nodded. "Pretty neat, huh?"
"I'll say!" Naruto grinned. "Guess you work like I do, just need the right motivation."
"Ideeeeeeeeea! Lemmie give your room a makeover!"
"Oh no I'm good," he hastily interjected as he waved his hands. He would like to keep his room masculine and in order thank you very much. "Well since you're going to be living here, we should hit the grocery store so we can stock up on some stuff you'll enjoy!" It was rather important to make sure that she would be able to eat the food in this dimension and made sure she didn't have any possible deathly allergies and such.
"Wanna go out instead? It's still bright outside and I can show you the fun places to hang out around town if you wanna chill."
"Lead the way my friend!" Star said with a grin while she appeared beside Naruto, looped her hands around his.
And with that done, they left the Arisawa residence.
