The sky was growing darker as they waited and waited, it felt like hours though it was only minutes. His palms were growing sweaty threatening that his sword slips from his grasp. He ran through every possible scenario in his head, what if they lose what if they were outnumbered what if he dies? There were too many possibilities Aldric was losing himself he had never been brave but he joined the army nonetheless and how could he not the high king was murdered in the same city as him and what did he do? Nothing he did nothing he saw Ulfric fleeing the city and he didn't move a muscle to stop him. So now here he was risking his life for the empire to bring down that Damn traitor. As his mind wandered a horn sounded in the distinct and Aldric flinched wondering what had happened seeing the man next to him jump from the darkness into the road. It started he realized with a sinking feeling he was contemplating staying here and waiting it out but as he was about to sink back further into the bushes an arm slammed down onto his shoulder and pushed him forward.

" Move it, soldier". He heard General Tullius shout from behind him. Now he had no choice so he pushed away his fear and charged out into the road. This would be the first battle of the war and he would be part of it he would make his family proud and give his little brother someone to look up to and not the coward he had always been.

Aldic burst through the tree line and was met with pure chaos. The fear came bubbling up again the man that had just charged ahead of him now lay a bloodied mess at his feet. Red and blue swirled around clashing swords spilling blood. Aldric stood there frozen what was he to do he barely knew how to swing a sword he was only supposed to be a guard and dealing with drunks and thieves which had gotten into his mind to bring him here. Lost in his thoughts he barely noticed the Stormcloak charging his side until it was too late. He couldn't turn or raise his sword in time. But like a grace from the gods themselves, a flash of steel sliced through the traitor's neck separating his head from his body.

"Get your head out of your ass boy this is war". The General yelled before charging off again. This was not the time to feel sorry for myself Aldric thought. He was here to fight and that's what he will do. He raised his sword and let out a battle cry before charging headfirst into the carnage.

He plunged his sword deep into the back of the first traitor he saw. He ripped it out painting himself in scarlet the man crumpled to the ground dead instantly. Feeling no remorse Aldric turned and swung meeting the side of another traitor as his comrade sliced his chest finishing the kill. They all must die they are all traitors he kept telling himself as he cut down another and another. That was four he had killed four men and he was going for his fifth the man had his back turned an easy kill. Aldic approached raised his sword and forced it down with all his might expecting a clean slice through the back. However, his blade never met flesh it only met steel as the Stormcloak whirled around at lightning speeds and blocked his strike jarring his entire body. Surprised he stepped back to retreat though he was never given the chance as the other man quickly attacked. He wasn't ready for this he could only kill a man if they weren't fighting back. He blocked a few strikes but they were overwhelming and soon he saw his sword flying from his hand and clattering to the ground far out of reach. Aldric looked back towards the Stormcloak who raised his sword for a killing blow and only one thought filled his mind run, run away now. So he did he turned and ran with all the might he could pushing past allies and enemies alike. He was almost there the end of the battle he would make it. A sharp pain erupted through his chest his legs stopped working and he crashed to the ground. What was happening he was going to escape he was almost there. Aldric looked down and saw something sharp and red picking through his chest. An arrow he was shot in the back while running a coward's death one that he deserved.

"I'm sorry Felix." Was all he could make out as his blood rushed out and his vision blurred carrying him off to sleep for one final time.
