Lucy woke up on her birthday as there was a knock on her door.
"Groan, why can't I just stay home?" Lucy says, not wanting attention today.
Luke just heads to school in a huff.
"Hey, Luke, wait up!" Lynn says.
"I want my birthday! Why isn't it here?!" Luke screamed.
"Look, it's just one more day…" Lynn says. Luke pushed Lynn out of his way as the Oakley Academy bus pulled up and Luke got on it.
"December 17th isn't going to be a good day…Luke's going to blow a fuse…" Lynn says, knowing Luke was always mad unless it was a day about him, which sadly is the only time he's ever happy.
"What's the 17th supposed to be?" Lisa asked.
"There has to be a time I can make him happy on a day that's not about him…" Lynn says to herself, ignoring Lisa.
"Are you going to give me an answer?" Lisa asked.
"The anniversary of…well…it's hard to say. But Lucy and Lincoln are kinda adopted." Lynn says.
"Do they know?" Lisa asked.
"No." Lynn says. "They won't take it well."
"They know." Charity says, waiting with them.
"Who told them?" Lynn asked.
"They always knew. I don't think anyone really told them." Charity says.
"Oh and the 18th is…um…Cynthia's anniversary. You know how she's always making costumes? Well, she kinda sees that day as important, and Oliver is going to see her to try and win her back." Lynn says.
At Royal Woods Middle School, Lucy made sure to be alone. She was the only 8th grader that hadn't turned 14 yet, until today.
She came to her English class. There was a poetry slam there today. She needed to win. But Ms. Andrews wasn't going to award prizes as this was just a poetry reading.
With Luke at Oakley Academy, he heard about Lucy and Lincoln's "Gotcha Day" and he was infuriated at the fact they were going to celebrate it today instead of on the 17th.
"Just why?!" Luke asked.
Remy shrugged. He then patted Luke's shoulder.
Soon, it was lunch time at the middle school. Lincoln didn't want to celebrate. He sat and ate in silence. His friends came up to him.
"Not one word about today." Lincoln says. "I already know. I don't even understand why they're celebrating it now instead of in July, which is when it really is. Even then, I don't want to be a part of it."
"Those siblings of yours always get the right dates, but the wrong months sometimes." Stella says.
"Guys, Luke just went to Wonderland." Lucy says. "The one in a different world."
Colleen called Brandy, knowing him and his pals had been there before.
"Okay, we have to save Luke." Savannah says.
"No way! Wonderland is too dangerous. Luke is a goner…" Bill says.
Later, the cosmic buddies rush through Wonderland with the siblings in tow.
"Wheee!" Delta says, speeding ahead as Alem tuber kicked the Mad Hatter and smirked.
Bill and Lisa find Luke. Luke saw them and hissed.
"Luke, please come home…" Lisa says
"No. I hate the fact you're celebrating an adoption. My mom adopted them. But you wouldn't know that because you're too blind and too oblivious to understand that we adopted them in July. Not December!" Luke screamed.
"Oh…we were talking about the time our biological mother adopted them…" Lisa says. "It happened before we met you, Luke…please just come home. We can celebrate your adoption…" Lisa says.
Luke looked at them.
"No! I hated that day! Being in that house only brought me pain! I really don't want to be around you guys or see you at my party, but I know most of you really care for me and only want me to be happy…" Luke sniffed and looked away.
Meanwhile Remy was in the poetry slam at the local cafe.
Lucy glared as she wanted to beat Remy. Especially on her birthday.
"Come on, Luke, let's go home." Lisa says, taking his arm.
"Why?" Luke sniffed.
"Mom loves you." Lisa says. "And we'll definitely try to be better siblings to you. We promise."
Luke sniffed and looked at the siblings, who looked truly sorry.
Meanwhile, Angry Luigi shrieked and got into a comatose state as Delta was confused.
"He lost his sanity, so he's pretty much useless. We need to find Alice. She's the one who can stop this mess." Bill says.
Luke arrived home. He looked around. The siblings were happy to see him back, and he just looked at the adoption day decorations after hugging the siblings.
Luke then sat in silence.
"To think that all those years ago, we met you…" Luna says.
Meanwhile, Lucy smiled as she read her poem. She had lots of practice. Lucy smiled and finished minutes later.
Luke was in shock as he just looked at the siblings. He had no idea what to say.
Lucy came home. "Guys, I won! Oh, what's going on?" Lucy asked.
"Today's the day you met Luke, remember?" Lori says.
Lucy looked at Luke and hugged him. "Best day of my life." Lucy says. Luke felt happy as he hugged Lucy back. He then saw a cake at the dining room table. He walked to the table. The cake said "Happy adoption day, Luke!"
"You mean…today…today is my…" Luke says, shocked.
Lucy nods. Luke sheds happy tears and hugs Lucy and his siblings.
Lucy lit the candles as Luke couldn't stop smiling. He had no idea this was his adoption day. And to see this now was a little overwhelming to him.
Lucy was hoping everyone forgot it was her birthday. And luckily, they did.
Everyone sang to Luke. Luke was still speechless as he wished his birthdays were perfect and blew out the candles.
Later, Lynn got out a coffin and dragged it up the stairs to Lucy's room. "Rita sent it." Lynn says.
Lucy smiled at this.
Later, everyone was drinking hot chocolate.
"6 years since we met." Lucy says to Luke.
"This was a surprise to me…I honestly didn't know it was my adoption day." Luke says.
Lucy nodded, calling his friends. They came over, smiling at Luke.
"You guys were in on this, too?" Luke asked.
"Nope, mainly Lucy. She's the one who found you. We came to celebrate!" Stephen says.
They began to dance as Lucy smiled, watching this.
After the celebration, Luke had gone up to bed.
Haiku had a gift for Lucy. It was a new party planning book.
"Thank you." Lucy said to Haiku.
Haiku smiled. "Nice job winning." She says.
Luna smiled when she came to tuck Luke in. Luke was sleeping, but was shivering as he felt cold. Luna added an extra blanket and kissed his forehead.
"Sleep tight, dude." Luna says quietly before leaving the room.
