Chapter 87 - A Student's Heart VIII - Wakamo

...

A full week passed after Wakamo officially moved in and joined Schale. She slept in a room on the same floor as the trio, who were apprehensive at first, but calmed down when they realized I was the only thing Wakamo focused on.

I also found that Wakamo was a hard-worker. I couldn't exactly take her out on commissions, knowing her reputation, but she was quite adept at paperwork. It surprised her as well, seeing as how she'd never done this kind of thing before.

Dinner was fun. The trio found themselves absolutely devouring my food, loving it instantly.

Wakamo practically melted in her chair when she took a bite. I had to check the chair after dinner to make sure she didn't cum herself. It was dry, thankfully.

All in all, Wakamo was a sweetheart, just one who had a tendency of not thinking things through.

I also took a few breaks to run over to Trinity, seeing if I could visit Mika in her cell- which I've done a few times since the mess a few weeks ago-, but she turned me away again. That idiot, I told her I wasn't angry? Why's she running me off like this. If she keeps it up, I'm gonna go in there regardless of what she wants.

That aside, I had a conversation with a few of my girls, explaining Wakamo staying over and all. They decided to come and interrogate her, or rather Hoshino and Shiroko did. Honestly, those two are the ones in charge of the harem at this point, not me.

This is what led to Wakamo and the two Abydos girls speaking privately in another room while I worked. While I worked, I prayed nothing got destroyed.

"..."

"..."

"...?"

Three girls sit in a room in Schale, by themselves. Two of them staring intently at a third, the only one with a mask, whose head is tilted slightly in curiosity.

"So... You're the Fox of Calamity, huh?" Hoshino asks, looking her over. "Meh, you don't look like much."

"Neither do you, Hoshino." Shiroko snarks her upperclassman.

The pinkette whines. "Hueh. Shiroko, we're supposed to be doing that kinda thing to her!"

The wolf girl's lips curl up slightly into a smile.

"Anyway." Hoshino looks back at Wakamo. "Sensei already explained what happened the other day, with you joining Schale and all. What I want is to hear your honest opinion. What do you think of Sensei?"

"I love him."

Both Abydos girls raise an eyebrow at the quick admission.

"And yet you've barely talked, aside from this past week." Shiroko points out.

"Irrelevant. I feel in love with him at first sight." Wakamo says, swooning with her gloved hands clasped. "I'll admit, Sensei has made it clear how foolish I was, causing such a commotion when I could have simply approached him and confessed." She whines. "I could've saved myself a lot of trouble that way."

"I see." Hoshino hums. "You clearly feel strongly for him."

"Have either of you been on a date?" The wolf girl asks.

The fox girl's ears twitch. "No. But, Sensei promised we would sometime! ...I wish for him to get to know me like I know him."

Shiroko and Hoshino share a glance. How can she know so much about Josh despite barely interacting with him, save for this week? The two girls nod after having a quiet conversation, before facing Wakamo again.

"Then go on that date." The pinkette says, causing the kitsune to still. "I won't stop the two of you getting together. You clearly understand he has a harem and don't mind, so go ahead."

"I... I believed you would be against it." Wakamo admits.

"Nn, of course not." Shiroko says.

"If you care about him that much, then it's fine. See where this relationship of yours go. But remember one thing." Hoshino pauses, her easy-going eyes sharpening into deadly daggers. "If you ever hurt him, I'll show you why I was pretty well-known a few years back. Calamity or not, I'll break you in two if you hurt him."

The wolf and fox girls both fight every instinct in their bodies to not run for the hills upon seeing the third-year's gaze and hearing her words, their ears flattening against the back of their heads instinctually. The small girl's heterochromatic eyes almost seem to glow menacingly. Shiroko is shocked at seeing her friend this serious. Even Wakamo feels a spike of fear impale her.

'This girl... is dangerous...' The Fox of Calamity realizes, eyes wide behind her mask.

"But you wouldn't do that, would ya?" Hoshino asks, her eyes and voice relaxing. Wakamo shakily shakes her head negative. "Good. Then c'mon, Shiroko, we've still gotta meet the others over at Millennium." She says, walking over to the door.

"O-Okay." Shiroko says, blinking as she gets up.

"Eh? Did I scare ya?" Hoshino asks. "Sorry, Shiroko. Guess you got caught in the crossfire."

"It's fine. That gaze is effective." Shiroko shakes her head. "Very intimidating."

"That's why I don't use it often." The pinkette says, awkwardly rubbing the back of her head with a smile.

As the two Abydos girls leave the room, Wakamo released a breath she didn't know she was holding. "I see... Perhaps I shouldn't underestimate Anata-sama's lovers after all..."

"Or perhaps... It's Anata-sama that makes them strong..."

The fox finds herself deep in thought, before those thoughts are dashed away by other, more important ones.

She has a date to plan!

A while later, at the Game Development Department's room...

"Hueh! Yuzu is too strong!" Hoshino whines as her character on the tv dies.

"S-Sorry!" The shy redhead apologizes, shy as ever.

"It's fine. Hoshino is just bad at video games." Shiroko comments.

"Incorrect. Yuzu is simply too strong of an opponent." Aris innocently chimes in.

"Yeah! Yuzu's a god at fighting games!" Momoi adds.

"He-Her fingers were moving too fast to see." Haruka says, in awe with wide eyes.

"I'll admit, it was impressive." Chinatsu says.

"Hahaha! You gonna let such a shy girl beat you, Hoshino?" Mutsuki teases, causing said redhead to shrink.

"Hey, don't bully Yuzu." Midori snaps.

"I-It's fine." Yuzu says, before looking over at Haruka with a small smle. "Do you want to play next?"

"M-M-Me?!" The purplette of Gehenna shrieks. "S-Sure." She says, lightly taking the controller from the redhead as she smiles as well.

"Maybe Hoshino can actually win now." Yuuka comments.

"Aris doubts it." Aris comments, happily.

"Hey, just 'cause I'm an old lady doesn't mean I can't move quick when I put my mind to it!" The pinkette whines.

"Nn. Put on your serious face again. You may have a chance." The wolf girl snarks.

"Eh? Serious face?" Mutsuki asks.

"Do you want me to scare the young'uns?" Hoshino asks her junior.

"What's this 'serious face' thing about?" The purplette of Millennium asks.

"We spoke with Wakamo earlier, Hoshino scared her good." The silverette of Abydos says, simply.

"Eh? Wakamo? That scary criminal girl?" Yuzu asks.

"Yeah, turns out she's into Sensei, like REALLY into him." Hoshino stresses.

"She's a total yandere." The silverette of Gehenna impishly adds. "Crazy as can be, mostly about Sensei."

"Sounds like he has his hands full." The medic of Millennium says.

"He's actually managing her pretty well, from what we know." Yuuka says. "I'm surprised she hasn't joined our little group."

"Ah, the harem, right?" Aris asks.

"...I'm still a bit unnerved but how calm you two were about finding this out." Yuuka admits.

"W-Well, Sensei's really nice so..." Yuzu says, shyly, lowering her head into her coat a bit.

"Sensei is the Legendary Hero, it makes sense that he would save many princesses and have them fall in love with him." The robotic girl says.

"Hah! Can't fault that logic!" Mutsuki laughs.

"Apparently, she's gonna ask him out sometime." Shiroko adds.

"So she might show up." The green twin realizes.

"Oh, geez." The pink twin whines.

"I-I hope she isn't scary, o-or mean..." Haruka says.

"Not as scary as Hoshino." Shiroko snarks, smiling a small smile.

"Oi, Shiroko! Stop making fun of your upperclassman! Tch, youngsters these days." Hoshino grumbles.

"Enough of that! Let's get back to the game!" Mutsuki says.

"Aris wants to see who will win!" Aris cheers, causing Chinatsu to giggle at her enthusiasm.

Yuuka sighs. "Honestly, you girls..." She says, though her smile betrays those words.

'Yeah, this harem thing was definitely a good decision.' Hoshino thinks to herself with a smile.

After their little talk, Wakamo came from the room with her mask off and asked me out directly. Then, she became busy. Very busy. It seemed her date was going to be a serious undertaking. I didn't stop her, though, she was incredibly serious about this, after all. She zoomed around, making calls after calls, setting things up. It was actually very impressive.

It was a few days of planning later when she texted me in the morning of our planned date, despite being in the same building.

Hello, Sensei.

I hope you didn't forget!

Today's finally the day! You promised to spend the entire day with me!

You have no idea how many sleepless nights I've spent waiting for today...

I've planned the perfect date for us, I can barely contain my excitement!

With how you've been running around the past few days, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to it as well.

That's makes me so happy! I'll wait for you at the main lobby.

I'll be down soon.

I feel like she's got something planned- or rather, more than I expect planned. Regardless, I put on some nice, casual clothes and head down, leaving Arona in charge of the place for the day.

Once at Schale's lobby, I find myself waiting. That's to be expected, since I came down a bit earlier than planned. I begin to idly scroll through the news on the phone as I wait. After a few minutes, I pocket my phone, but not before I hear Wakamo giggle behind me.

"Hehehe... You're down early, Sensei."

"Yeah, I got dressed a little quiiii..."

As I turn around, my words trail off as my brain hitches upon seeing Wakamo. She's not wearing her usual punk kimono, but instead looks like a regal beauty in a gorgeous white kimono with floral patterns. On her feet are high heeled, red shoes and white, Japanese socks. She's foregone her mask in favor of flowers decorating her hair. In her hand is a parasol, also decorated beautifully. Any weaker man would fall head over heels at first sight of her like this.

"Why the confused look? It's as though you don't even recognize me." She says, before sighing lovingly. "I should come to expect it by now, but every time I see you for the first time after a while, an indescribable pain grips my heart. It feels like it could burst out of my chest at any moment as butterflies fill my stomach. I can hardly control myself or bare to be out of your arms for a moment longer."

My brain is still trying to catch up with the violent outfit swap.

"That... That is you, right, Wakamo?" I ask, slowly.

She giggles sweetly. "Yes, my darling. It's me, your lovely Wakamo."

"Sorry, it's just... you look gorgeous." I compliment.

"Eh?" She freezes, a massive blush appearing on her cheeks. She places a dainty hand against her cheek as she swoons. "Ah~! Saying things like that! It makes my heart flutter, Anata-sama..." She pauses, smiling at me. "I am happy to hear it, though. I wanted to wear something special for our first date. Besides, I feared my usual attire would draw too much unwanted attention." She smiles. "If we'll be going everywhere today locked arm in arm, then it's only natural I'd want to look my best when at your side."

"That's... awful considerate of ya." I say. I didn't think about her infamy at all. Going without her mask and usual outfit is like going totally incognito, huh?

"Of course. I care about you more than anyone in this world~" The kitsune says lovingly.

"That..." I smile. "That means a lot, Wakamo."

My words only serve to make her smile even bigger and sweeter as she walks over to me and wraps her arm around mine. "Now, we shouldn't waste a single moment together, Sensei. I want everything today to be perfect! Shall we be off? I've been looking forward to this for so long."

I just smile at her. "The way you've been runnin' around, I've been the same way."

Wakamo smiles ever brighter as we leave Schale, arms locked together.

Wakamo led me to a restaurant in the DU, unaffected by her rampage the other day. It's still hard to wrap my head around the fact that a girl this sweet could cause so much mayhem. Thankfully, no one was majorly hurt that day, even the civilians, but still... Looking at her now, it's a complete one-eighty in personality swap.

The restaurant was very fancy. Makes sense, she did make a reservation and all.

"Here we are. I booked a table for two just for us." She explains sweetly.

"I'll admit, when I heard you mention a reservation, I didn't expect a place so fancy." I say, looking around.

"Oh? Were you expecting something more traditional?" She asks.

"Nah. Just surprised is all." I say.

Wakamo hums in thought. "That kind of atmosphere may be good for our next date, then... I got the idea to make a reservation here from a dating advice book I've been reading. It said bringing a love interest to high-end establishments like this shows how much you value them."

"I dunno about that." I say. "How fancy a place is shouldn't matter, so long as it's enjoyable."

"That's... Hm, I see." She hums, smiling. "Enough of that. Let's find our table."

I nod as we walk over to a robotic man at a desk. Upon seeing us, he becomes terribly nervous. "Ah! I'm terribly sorry!"

"I... beg your pardon?" Wakamo blinks in confusion.

"I regret to inform you that we had to close early due to unforeseen circumstances." He apologizes.

"But... I already made a reservation..." She all but growls out.

The guy stills, wilting under the kitsune's glare. "M-My apologies. We revived last-minute notice that a special guest would be visiting today, a-and-"

"Special guest?" I ask.

"Yes. Meat & Potatoes, the famous viral food critic, is visiting our establishment. Our management has ordered us to provide the perfect meal to bolster our restaurant's reputation online. This is our big chance to go viral as well!" He explains. "I'm terribly sorry, but hopefully you can see why we had no choice but to close down early for the day and cancel all reservations."

Wakamo shakes with rage.

The man notices. "Na-Naturally, we don't intent to turn you away empty-handed. Please accept this dining voucher!" He says, holding a ticket. "Present this voucher next time you visit, and you'll be treated to the finest dining experience we have to offer- free or charge!"

Wakamo shakes, looking ready to murder the man. I place a hand on her shoulder, causing her to jolt and look at me. After looking at each other for a moment, she sighs.

As we turned to leave, I annoyedly snatched the ticket from the man. "You'd better be up front about the premium free food, else this critic's review won't matter as much as mine. After all, I'm sure Schale carries a heavier weight than some foody."

I can hear the man fearfully gasp as Wakamo and I walk away. She still seems upset, until I wrap my arm around hers. She looks up at me and smiles, her annoyance melting away.

"C'mon, let's go to the next place." I smile. She nods and smiles happily.

The next place she led me to was a dessert cafe. I wonder if that fancy place even had desserts.

"Our restaurant reservation may have gone awry, but fear not Sensei." Wakamo begins, smile straining a bit for a moment. "I thoroughly researched everything on today's itinerary and found the absolute best desserts for us to savor together." She pulls a small book from her kimono. "I read in this local guidebook that this cafe offers a special couples-only dessert menu. Doesn't that sound lovely?"

Before I can answer, the clerk- a dog man- looks over to us. "Pardon me, but I couldn't help but overhearing. Did you say 'couples-only dessert menu'?"

"Y-Yes." Wakamo blinks.

"I'm sorry, but we stopped offering that menu sometime last year." You can practically hear glass shatter from Wakamo's direction at the man's admission. "May I take a look at that guidebook you have?" She blankly nods and hands it to the clerk, who skims through it. "Oh, this thing. I believe our owner wrote this last year for fun." He begins to laugh at seeing it, but his laughter soon fizzles out. "P-P-Please excuse me. I didn't think anyone still read guidebooks to decide where to go on dates. What a weird- er, I mean... interesting- way of doing things. Anyway, that menu has been discontinued. Sorry about that."

He hands the book back to Wakamo, only to freeze under her death glare. I take the book back, knocking Wakamo from her anger. Our eyes meet and I motion my head towards the door as I smile. The kitsune smiles back, albeit a bit strained.

Wakamo then led me to a train station, still wrapping her arm around mine. "Okay, then. Let's hurry, Sensei. I'm sure this time... NOTHING will impede us from enjoying ourselves!"

"So what's next?" I ask, curious.

She smiles. "All we have to do is board the train that arrives in two minutes and ride it to the nearby theme park. There, we'll catch the performance-"

But Wakamo is interrupted by some delinquents running into us, nearly causing us to stumble.

"Watch where you're going!" One shouts.

"Who the hell do you think you are, princess? You lookin' for a fight?" The second one growls.

"Maybe we should teach you a lesson!" The third smirks under her mask.

Wakamo narrows her eyes.

"You nearly dislocated my shoulder, y'know?" The first shouts.

"It was a close call!" The second adds.

"Really close!" The third finishes.

Ugh, typical thugs. What, are they gonna sue us next?

Wakamo takes a deep breath, closing her eyes, then opens them as she exhales. "Pardon me. I should have paid closer attention to where I was going." She says, politely, before giving them her death glare. "I HOPE you can forgive me."

The trio violently freeze. The third one squeaks in fear.

"Y-Yeah, all good...! Ju-Just be more careful next time!" The second one says.

"L-Let's get out of here!" The first says, as they scramble away.

The kitsune sighs as I scoff. "Typical punks. All bark, no bite."

Wakamo giggles, before pausing. "Wait, our train...!"

Looking over, the two of us see said train already pulling away. Was that seriously two minutes?!

I look over to see Wakamo looking sullen as can be. Reaching over, I wrap my arm around her neck and pull her close. Her golden eyes meet mine. "It's okay. Let's go to the next place."

She nods, smile strained. "Never mind that. We can go see a movie, instead. I-In fact, I believe there's a new, um... romantic film that just released!"

"Let's go see it, then." I say as we walk together again.

Unfortunately, missing the train meant we had no way of making it to the park in time. She was hopeful about the movie, but...

"W-What?! It's sold out...?" Wakamo asks in disbelief. "I refuse to let things end like this."

So, we went somewhere else.

"Not again..."

And again.

"I'm sure the next one will go as planned!"

But it didn't. Each thing Wakamo had planned ended in failure, ironically, without fail.

By the time Wakamo ran out of activities to do, the sun had begun to set. Wakamo sadly sat down on a bench as I grabbed her a drink from the vending machine.

"Here." I say, handing her a can.

"Oh... Thank you, Sensei." She says, taking the drink, clearly still upset about the day. "That's very kind of you..." She mindlessly opens the can and takes a sip.

"Hey, don't be so down. These kinda things happen. It's just bad luck." I say, reassuringly. I know a lot about bad fucking luck.

"It's just... I can't help but be disappointed. I tried my best to plan a perfect day with you, but nothing went as planned..." She bemoans, before furrowing her brows. "This was supposed to be the best day ever, but everything went wrong. I'm so embarrassed I can hardly stand to look at you. I'm sorry, Sensei, I don't know what else to say."

"I had fun."

"What?" Her head whips around to face me.

"Spending time with you like this? It was fun." I smile. "Sure, things didn't go as planned, but nothing ever goes perfectly. I'm more concerned about you."

"M-Me?" Wakamo blinks.

"You've been rather prone to lashing out, yet you stayed pretty calm all day. You really held back." I point out.

"Ah, I suppose it might have been pretty out of character." She realizes, before giggling lightly. "It should be obvious why I wouldn't do such a thing. I made a promise to you." She smiles, looking at me with love in her eyes. "A promise that I wouldn't disappoint you, that I would do my best to be your best student. You went out of your way to make time for me. This was my chance to spend time with you and get to know you." She smiles sadly. "The last thing I wanted to do was ruin it. I knew it would only complicate things for you if people discovered who I really was.

So, I restrained myself to not draw unwanted attention. Especially because, and forgive me if this is a bit presumptuous, this isn't the only time we'll have to spend together. The last thing I wanted to do was grow impatient. I'm sure we'll have more chances than I can count." She then smiles brightly again. "But it was still nice to see how worried you were about me. I really did have your full attention, didn't I?"

I smile. "Beautiful as you look? How could I not?"

She smiles, a bright blush forming on her face.

"Regrettably, the day is almost over." She sighs.

"...It doesn't have to be."

"Hm?" She blinks.

"It doesn't have to be the end of our date." I say, standing up. "There's a grocery store nearby. How I about we go home and I make us a nice dinner?"

Wakamo blinks in surprise, before joy and hope wells up in her eyes and her smile. "I'd love that."

"Then sit tight, I'll be back in a few." I smile.

Wakamo happily nods. As I walk away, I hear her make a loud sound resembling a shout of joy mixed with various other emotions. I just chuckle as I go to the store.

The trip to the grocery was pretty much in and out. I managed to find what I needed and got out pretty quick. Upon returning to the bench where I left Wakamo, I was treated to an... interesting sight.

"How can you lie in front of a total stranger like that and expose your belly?" She asks. "I'll just have to teach you a lesson and show you what happens when you let your guard down..."

I can only stare in disbelief as Wakamo, crouched down, begins to pet a cat's belly with a great deal of enjoyment. "Take this! How do you like that, hmm...? How about here? Do you like it when I scratch you here?" The cat meows at her, causing her to smile. "Well too bad. I feel like scratching the back of your neck instead. You can cry and pout if you want, but I'm the one who's in charge of the petting here."

I let out a chuckle, startling both the cat and Wakamo. The cat looks up at me, apprehensive, but doesn't try to run.

"What...?" Wakamo turns and looks at me, before locking up, eyes wide with a bright blush. "S-Sensei?!"

"Yup." I nod. "What're you doin'?" I ask, rhetorically.

"Oh, I was just... playing with this cat." Wakamo says, nonchalant. "I-It's not what it looks like!" She quickly defends.

I chuckle, sitting the groceries down as I crouch next to her. The cat stares at me curiously, before I reach my hand out and begin to rub its head.

"That's a good buddy." I smile. I pull away my hand, causing the cat to walk up and rub up against Wakamo's legs. "This is still a surprise, though."

"I-Is it?" Wakamo blinks, her hand unconsciously rubbing the cat's side. "Ah. I suppose I've never told you how much I like animals."

"Oh?" I ask, petting the cat as well. The thing revels in our attention.

Wakamo giggles. "The truth is, I adore them. I find them a lot easier to get along with than people. They don't talk, and can't say hurtful things... They're never ungrateful for attention, nor are they quick to betray." She says that last word with a bit of vitriol, surprising me. "It's a little sad how easy it was for them to reciprocate that kindness compared to the rest of us. I just can't help myself around them." She smiles. "I love how pure they are." She giggles, looking down at the affectionate cat.

I smile at her, before standing back up. "Well, I got everythin'. You ready?" I ask, holding my hand out.

Wakamo gently takes my hand and raises back to her feet.

The two of us walk back home to Schale, Wakamo holding my arm tightly.

I decided to go the full romance route, going so far as to place a small candle on the table. I asked Arona to give us some privacy this morning, so she went and decided to hang out with the former gangster trio downstairs. I can only assume that's where she still is.

The two of us had a nice dinner, albeit with not much talking to be had, save for Wakamo's occasional praises of my cooking and blissful moans from the flavor.

My cooking's really that good, huh...?

It was after we got done that we began to converse.

"Sensei..." Wakamo begins, shyly. "I... I want to be absolutely clear about something."

"What?" I ask, slightly taken aback by her seriousness.

"I love you." Wakamo confesses, hearts in her eyes again.

I pause. Hearing it for the first time from a girl is never gonna get easier.

"I realize that I'm not the best with these sorts of things, but... I don't mind being a part of a harem so long as I can be with you, Sensei." She says.

I smile. She's willing to compromise on this, huh? That a pretty important thing in a relationship.

I let out a sigh, deciding to follow the pattern I've made for myself. She needs to know about my past.

"Wakamo, we may be moving a bit fast, but... I've grown to love you as well." I admit, bringing a bright smile to her face. "But first, I want to tell you a story."

"A... story...?" Wakamo's golden eyes blink.

"I did the same thing with my other girlfriends, okay?" I explain. "Let me tell you a little about myself."

Wakamo nods, ready to listen intently.

I share with Wakamo my tale. I keep out the details of the past five years, but I share with her the betrayal and my running around.

"I see... I suppose I should have known that we were kindred spirits..." She says with a small, sad smile.

"You're... quite calm about this." I observe.

"Oh? Were you expecting a more visceral reaction from me?" Wakamo asks. "I have no reason to be mad at your former lover, she got what she deserved, going into a coma. As for your 'friend', why should I be angry at him?" She leans over the table, gently grabbing onto my hand. "It hurts me to know what you've been through, but I know that you're the one who deserves vengeance against him. I am angry at him, yes, but you are far angrier at him than I could ever be. I won't stand in the way of you, but when the time comes, I will help you get back at that horrid man in any way I can. I promise you this, Anata-sama."

My eyes widen, before I find myself chuckling. "That means a lot, Wakamo. Thanks."

She smiles brightly at me. "You mean more to me than you could ever know." She stand up and walks around the table, before plopping down in my lap and hugging me tightly. "I love you, Anata-sama."

I hug her back tightly. "I love you too, Okusan."

She freezes in my grasp, her tail and ears going ramrod straight as well. She pulls away, her face sporting an atomic blush. "D-D-Did you s-sa-say... O-Okusa-san...?" She asks, shakily.

"Well, since you've been calling 'husband' in private, I don't mind calling you 'wife' in private. Plus, my other girls have been calling me Josh in private and all." I say with a smirk. "I'd say it's only fair."

She begins to stutter, unable to form words as her blush seems to grow stronger. She kinda looks like Aru with that frantic look. I just hug the stuttering kitsune again, smile on my face.

After dinner, Wakamo calmed back down and headed off to bed. I didn't think anything of it until I returned to my room after brushing my teeth and such.

"Welcome, Anata-sama~"

"Hwuh?" That's the sound I made, when I came back to my bedroom to find Wakamo laid in my bed, wearing one of my shirts (how'd she get that?) and black underwear. After recovering from my surprise- and tearing my gaze away from her bare legs-, I deadpanned at her. "If you wanted to sleep here tonight, you coulda asked."

She giggles cutely. "Forgive me, but I merely wanted to surprise you, Josh." I blink at her using my name. "Would you allow this Wakamo the honor of sharing your bed tonight?"

I smile at the formality of her words. "It'd be my pleasure."

As soon as I say that, Wakamo jolts, emotions clearly running rampant within.

I walk over and get into the bed. As soon as I do, Wakamo practically latches onto me like Shiroko did that one time. Her chest is pressed up against my side and her soft legs are wrapped around mine, as though to make sure I don't leave. She lets out a small and happy squeal as she snuggles against me.

"Sweet dreams, Okusan."

"Sweet dreams, Anata-sama."

And like that, another day ends in Kivotos.

The next day, on Sensei's Harem Chat Group.

Shiroko: So...

Hoshino: I told you, I'm not taking fool's bets.

Shiroko: ...

Hoshino: And don't pout.

Yuuka: Is she still on about that?

Hoshino: That's just how little ol' Shiroko is, determined as can be.

Mutsuki: I think we figured that out after our visit with the twins.

Midori: I've rarely seen someone that serious about beating a Dark Spirits boss.

Momoi: Even I gave up a couple of times!

Midori: Sis... You gave up a few dozen. Not to mention shattering the controller on Yuzu's cabinet.

Momoi: I-I don't know what you're talking about.

Midori: You made her pass out in fright! She was IN the cabinet!

Chinatsu: That aside, I can only guess Josh's date went well.

Mutsuki: Probably.

Haruka: Josh is a gr-great guy. It definitely went well.

Wakamo: Oh, no. For the most part everything went wrong.

Yuuka: GAH!

Chinatsu: WHA?!

Haruka: EEK!

Yuuka: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN HERE?!

Wakamo: A few minutes. It was interesting seeing students from multiple schools becoming friends like this. I guess that's Josh's super power.

Mutsuki: Making people get along? Sounds about right.

Shiroko: Josh as a superhero...?

Hoshino: I can't imagine him wearing spandex.

Mutsuki: I can! Those arm muscles of his are something else!

Yuuka: Good lord...

Haruka: H-H-Hello there, Wakamo.

Wakamo: Hello, everyone.

Momoi: ...Are you really the Fox of Calamity?

Wakamo: I am. Why?

Momoi: I thought you'd be scarier.

Midori: Sis is right. I was kinda worried about meeting you.

Wakamo: Perish the thought. I would never want to frighten or hurt those Josh cares so dearly for. His happiness is the most important thing to me.

Chinatsu: That's...

Shiroko: I was right. Total yandere.

Mutsuki: Bwahahaha! This group is only getting better and better by the day!

Wakamo: I am not a yandere.

Hoshino: Josh told me about your confession during that mess you caused, y'know?

Wakamo: ...

Hoshino: Ah, well.

Haruka: What did you mean by the date going wrong?

Wakamo: Simple, I planned out a great many events for our date, yet they all went wrong.

Yuuka: That's highly unlikely.

Wakamo: Our restaurant closed due to a viral food critic visiting them.

Chinatsu: That's just bad luck.

Wakamo: The sweets place wasn't offering the couples-only menu I read about in a brochure. I failed to notice that it was dated a year ago.

Momoi: Okay, that's a misstep.

Wakamo: Some idiots held us up and we missed our train to the amusement park. The movie theater was sold out. The aquarium was closed due to a child tossing a homemade shuriken at the glass and cracking it. A fight broke out in the arcade. A cafe had run out of ingredients due to a supplier error.

Shiroko: Super bad luck.

Wakamo: It wasn't all bad. Josh made us a lovely dinner. That, at the very least, went according to plan.

Hoshino: Ah, don't feel too bad. There's always next time.

Wakamo: Indeed.

Wakamo: Now, if you'll excuse me, I must get back to assisting Anata-sama.

Haruka: Anata?

Mutsuki: HAHAHAHAHA

Chinatsu: Doesn't that mean...?

Shiroko: Husband.

Midori: WHAT?!

Momoi: WHAT?!

Wakamo: Goodbye, everyone! -Wakamo has logged off.-

Yuuka: HEY!

Hoshino: I swear, you youngsters always get so excited about these kinds of things. Let the young girl live her fantasy.

Shiroko: Wakamo is older than you.

Hoshino: Hush.

Yuuka: Haah... I feel a headache coming on.

Haruka: She s-seemed nice.

Chinatsu: Well, this is about what I expected.

Mutsuki: Same. Gehenna's already wild.

Yuuka: ...You two are really making me worried about visiting there.

Haruka: It's not so bad. The Head Prefect usually takes care of most of the problems.

Hoshino: Ah, speaking of, I wonder when she'll join our group.

Chinatsu: Eh? You think the Head Prefect will join?

Hoshino: I ran into the two of them once. Hina was sat on Josh's lap. She blushed like crazy when she saw me and hopped off him quick.

Mutsuki: Seriously? God, I hope you got pictures.

Hoshino: I regret it every time I think about her.

Momoi: ...Is everyone in this group crazy?

Shiroko: Everyone in Kivotos is crazy.

Midori: Fair enough.

AN

And that makes nine! Despite this being the eighth Student's Heart chapter, remember that both of the twins joined in one. You all already saw Wakamo coming as soon as I confirmed the harem thing, though.

With this chapter, this entire story (and the Fate Kaleid one) have been fully uploaded to Ao3. Go read it there if you're having problems with FanFiction and it's busted ass website.

For those of you on Wattpad, you can probably stay, or give it a follow on Ao3 just to make sure you get updated.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter and look forward to the next!
