"Fuck!" Asuka cursed, kicking the bed frame.
"Calm down, Asuka." Hikari said.
The seven time travelers are locked in a glass case suspended in the air by wires. The case itself is fashioned to look like a normal room, with four bunk beds on both sides, a closet, a portable stove and a mini fridge. To the back end of the room is a faucet that doubles as a toilet.
Surrounding the glass case is a circular wall with red lights in them. On closer inspection, those red lights are actually automated turrets locked onto the aforementioned object of interest and are programmed to fire should they leave without authorization.
"Calm down? How can I calm down when those Section-2 wannabes break into the ship, knock us all out," she points to the choker on her neck. "Put these collars on us then just threw us in here like a bunch of fucking animals!"
"Hokari-san is right, Asuka. You need to calm down." Rei chimes in.
"Hmph." Asuka scoffs and sits on one of the beds. "You guys are taking this way too well."
"We're not, but we can't just throw a tantrum like we're five." Kensuke comments. "Plus if they wanted us dead, we wouldn't be talking right now."
Asuka gives the military otaku a glare before letting out a sight. "Fine. Does anyone have any ideas on what happened?"
"When I rerouted the energy back into Unit-01, it caused an energy surge that reactivated the Weltall." Adam states.
"And when exactly were you going to tell us that you had an EVA locked up in your basement? Would have been a nice detail to know way back when." Asuka sarcastically remarks.
"I was planning on telling you… someday." Adam whispers the last part to himself. "Anyways, without anyone piloting the mech it simply went on a collision course with the Angel's core, and while the explosion threw us out of the Dirac Sea, it threw us into an entirely different reality."
"So… you don't know where we are?" Toni surmised.
Adam lays down on the glass floor, "nope. I have absolutely no idea."
Just then, a clicking sound grabs our attention and when we turn to look the door slides open. No sooner four armed guards begin to step forward and line up just at the edge of the floor.
"Stand." The leading guard demands. "Stand NOW!"
The teens obeyed and stood up. A hidden bridge extends from their end and connects to the door in the glass cage. A guard walks up to the door and swipes a card on a card reader and beeps green, unlocking it.
The door opens and the guard gives the kids a look full of contempt. "Let's go."
The group was taken to a lab where a series of tests were performed on them. Decontamination, Blood tests, brainwave activity, dental works x-rays, and so many others.
After seemingly hours of testing, the teens are led into a small metal room wearing nothing but their hospital gowns. The room was very small, with seven seats in front of a table that seems to be glued to the wall.
"You will stay here until the captain and co-captain arrive." The guard states and closes the door behind him.
The teens all sit down in tense silence.
"So… who do you think this captain is?" Toji breaks the silence.
"What are you asking me for? I don't know." Asuka replies.
"Maybe they're a cool looking military guy like in those old anime." Kensuke comments.
Adam sweat drops. "I doubt they're anything like you imagined."
"I just hope they let us go." Shinji said. "There's something weird going on… the people here have been giving us a hateful look."
Everyone knew Shinji was right. Something was wrong. The guards, and the people who administered the tests gave the teens all an evil look. Their eyes seem to be full of resentment and contempt. But what they found odd was that those emotions were directed at two people in particular: Adam and Shinji.
"Yeah… I know we're not from around here but that amount of animosity is completely unnecessary." Toji remarks.
"I'm surprised a stooge like you knows that word." Asuka said.
Toji, instead of yelling, just smirks. "I'm more than just a jock, princess."
Asuka simply smirks back.
Hikari smiles. "I'm happy you two are finally getting along."
Just then, they hear the sound of the door opening from the other side of the wall with footsteps soon following after. Not long after that, the group saw the other side of the wall and could not believe what they were seeing.
Sitting on the other side is an older woman with bottle-blonde hair cut short with green eyes and has a mole near her left eye. Instead of her pink diamond-shaped earrings she now wears rectangular ones. She wears a sleeveless black turtleneck with a brown belt over it. She wears a long brown skirt over black pantyhose and long brown boots. In her hands she wears fingerless brown gloves and when needed, she wears a long green coat with a blue armband over it.
Leaning against the wall is a woman wearing a sort of red commander's uniform. She has her hair tied to a bun and wears a red cap over it along with a pair of blue-tinted glasses, eerily similar to the orange-tinted glasses the commander of NERV wears.
The teens quickly recognized the woman in front of them. "Dr. Akagi…?"
The woman glances at the kids for a second before going back to her tablet.
"... is this them?" The woman in the background asks, her voice cold and monotone yet unmistakable to the group.
"Misato…?" Shinji calls out.
"Well?" Misato asks, completely ignoring Shinji.
Ritsuko lifts her tablet. "All psychological data matches the Marduk Code-01, 02, 03. Their DNA doesn't contain signs of splicing or deterioration so they aren't clones, barring one. Aside from the boy, they are the perfect picture of health." She explains. "Their bodies seem to be emitting unknown radiation, but it seems pretty harmless."
'What does that mean?' Adam thought.
"..." Misato lets the information sink in. "... what of their vessel?"
"The recon team have just finished their examination. They should start the dismantling process any minute now." Ritsuka replies.
"WHAT!?" The group all exclaim.
"You can't do that! We need it to get home!" Asuka exclaims.
Misato's head shifts, and though they couldn't see her eyes it was obvious she was glaring at them. "I have a use for your robot."
"A use…?" Shinji whispers that word out.
"Because I have a use for you." He remembered his father using that exact same words and tone when he first arrived at NERV.
"I don't understand, Misato. What's going on here?" Asuka asks.
"That is none of your concern, BM-06." Misato coldly states.
"BM-06?" Asuka repeats out loud. "Why are you calling me that? I'm not some kind of lab rat!"
"No, you are all aliens. Wild cards that suddenly appear out of nowhere." Asuka can feel the glare coming off the glasses. "And I HATE surprises."
"Okay then, what about these," Toji points to the choker on his neck "what's this about?"
"They are DSS chokers. Should any of you try to escape, the chokers will detonate and kill you." Ritsuko replies.
All of the group's eyes widened in horror.
"Y-You're going… to kill us…?" Hikari whispers in fear.
"Should the need arise, yes." Misato responds without hesitation.
"Are you insane!? We haven't done anything to deserve this!" Kensuke yells.
"Indeed. None of you have done anything… yet." Misato states.
Adam, hearing everything, asks the important question. "Misato… where are we?"
The room goes quiet as everyone turns their focus on the older brunette. Ritsuko presses a button and a hologram of a massive ship is shown.
"You are in our headquarters, the AAA Wunder, 70 miles below the Arctic Circle. Your robot is just 20 miles away from here." Misato states.
"Wait, so we're not in Tokyo-03? Or at the Geofront?" Kensuke asked.
"No, we are not." Ritsuka replies. "It's been a long time since we stepped foot in that god awful place."
It was this that made Rei finally talk. "You're no longer part of NERV."
"No, we are not, we are WILLE. And I would appreciate it if you keep that NAME out of your mouths." Misato hisses with venom.
This made everyone flinch. Misato would never act like this. Why does she hate NERV so much?
"Misato, what happened?" Shinji asked.
But instead of answering, Misato straightens herself, "we're done here. Return the subjects back to Chamber 2." She walks out of the door.
"H-Hey!" Asuka stands up as Ritsuka gathers her things and leaves. "You can't leave us in the dark like this!" She bangs on the glass wall. "MISATO!"
Just then, guards flood the room and restrain everyone before they are dragged out of the room.
Weltall - Control Room
A group of WILLE technicians operate the console as another proceeds to pull out the floor panels and wiring and connect it to their portable terminals.
On the command deck sits a woman in her thirties with short brown hair and hazel eyes wearing a yellow plugsuit as she has her computer hooked to the main console.
"Come on…" The woman mutters as she types a few more keys and presses Enter, causing the entire room to power on. "Yes!"
"This is the AAA Wunder. Maya, come in."
Mays raises her hand and pushes a button on her left wrist. "This is Lt. Ibuki. We've managed to access the main control system."
"Good work. Extract any useful information off their systems and report back to the Wunder."
"Understood." Maya hangs up and continues her work.
"Ma'am, we're ready to begin." One of the hackers states.
"Good. Start the operation." Maya said.
The hacker team accesses the mech's computer system and steadily forces their way through its defenses.
"So many firewalls… just what are you hiding…?" Maya ponders before her screen suddenly turns red. "What!?"
"Ma'am! Something's wrong!"
"I can see that, you idiot!" Maya exclaims before a loud rumble shakes the room. "What's happening!?
The next thing Maya knew was absolute darkness.
Adam and the group sat in their glass cage contemplating what was revealed to them.
"What the hell? Seriously, what the hell was that?" Toji asks.
"It was like… it was like Misato became my father." Shinji said.
"... she called me a 'BM-06'. What does that mean?" Asuka cringed.
Kensuke just looks at everyone. "Are we forgetting the fact that Misato intends to strip the Weltall for spare parts and possibly leave us here to rot!?" He sighs and looks at Adam. "Can't you bring the Weltall here and get us out of here?"
"I wish I could, but the bastards took my watch." Adam stares at his empty wrist. "Without it, I can't call the Weltall or even access it." The perspective switches to the guns mounted on the walls. "It'll also be impossible to leave without triggering the security."
"So we're stuck here then!?" Asuka yells.
Adam didn't answer, his silence was enough.
"Guys… haven't you noticed something off about Misato and Ritsuko?" Hikari asked.
"Aside from being total assholes? No, not really." Toji said.
"Didn't they seem… older to you?" Hikari points out.
Kensuke's eyes widened. "Yeah, I didn't notice it before, but Akagi-san did look much older than I remember her. Misato-san, too."
"It is possible that we were ejected into an alternate timeline rather than our own." Rei surmises.
"But if that's the case… how long has it been for them?" Shinji asked.
"It's been fourteen years. Fourteen years of constant suffering."
The group turned to the voice and could not believe what they're seeing. It's Asuka! She's wearing her iconic red plugsuit and a black jacket along with a cap that features cat ears. However, everyone notices the plugsuit was old, barely kept together with a series of tapes across her body and a black eye patch on her left eye.
But what was more noticeable… was the fact that she hasn't aged a day!
Next to her is a woman in her twenties with long brown hair and fair skin. Her uniform consists of a white and gray dress with a pocket and dark legging stopping below the knees. She also wears a black beret and a blue scarf around her neck.
"What? You all look like you've seen a ghost." Asuka stoically remarks.
"Can you blame them, Asuka-san? I mean, you are in there with them." The woman states.
Asuka glances at her younger self before she scoffs. She walks forward, making her way straight towards the glass door with the woman following suit. (AN: I'm gonna call this one Future Asuka to avoid confusion)
Shinji stares dumbstruck and notices Asuka walking towards the door.
"A-" Shinji tries to call but is stopped by Rei.
The two redheads stare at each other, the glass door being the only thing separating them.
F. Asuka smirks. "Surprised to see me?"
"I am." Asuka admits as she eyes her doppelganger. "It's like looking into a mirror."
"Well for me, it's like looking at a time capsule of all the bad choices I made." F. Asuka snaps back.
Asuka gives future self a concerned look. "What happened to you? Why do you still-?"
"Look fourteen despite being twenty-eight? You can thank the Curse of the EVA for that."
"Curse?" Rei asked.
"It's likely due to being exposed to LCL for long periods of time. Then again, when you're practically swimming and breathing Angel blood every single day something is bound to happen." comments.
"A-Angel blood…!?" Shinji exclaims in surprise, causing the doppelganger to raise an eyebrow.
"Wait, are you serious? You mean you guys don't know."
"Don't know what? What are you talking about?" Toji asked.
begins to chuckle. "Y-You don't know anything, do you? Absolutely nothing!" Her laughter grows louder. "Oh, this is so fucking rich! Of all the people to time travel it has to be a group of naive and broken brats who don't can't even tie their own fucking shoe laces!"
The woman looks on with worry as her superior continues to cackle madly. In all the time she's known her, she has never acted like this.
Asuka cringes at her doppelganger's insane laughter. "STOP LAUGHING ALREADY! YOU'RE CREEPING ME OUT!"
"Okay… okay…" calms down. "It's just… this whole thing is so amusing. I think that's the longest I laughed since Near-Third Impact."
At this point, Hikari had had it. "Enough, Asuka! Stop acting like a maniac and give us some straight answers!" She walks up to the door. "What happened to you!? To Katsuragi-san and Dr. Akagi!? What happened to NERV!? Why are you acting like an unhinged sociopath!? And what's this about a Near-Third Impact!?"
*CRACK!*
Hikari flinches as Asuka punches the glass wall.
"I suggest you keep your mouth shut before I make you." She growls as a fist-sized crack appears where she punched.
Hikari takes a step back as Asuka glares at her.
"As for your question… this is what happens when you fight Gendo Ikari in a war for the last 14 years." states catching everyone by surprise. "It was after the 10th Angel's defeat that things started falling apart for everyone, turns out it was Gendo's decade-long plan to start Third Impact… with Unit-01 at the center of everything."
"W-what…?" Shinji was mortified.
"Yeah brat. Turns out you weren't the hero of the story but rather its destroyer." smirks. "How does it feel, baka? How does it feel to be the cause of everything? That we suffer because of YOU!"
Shinji's body trembles. "No… you're lying. YOU'RE LYING!"
"Yeah! Shinji wouldn't do that! He wouldn't hurt a fly!" Toji exclaims
"Who the hell do you think you are!?" Kensuke demands.
glares are the boys. "I am your superior, brats. And if you don't wanna die, I suggest you shut up!"
Kensuke and Toji glare at her.
"Ikari-kun is not like that." Rei states.
smirks. "Oh, so the doll finally speaks. I thought you had gone mute on us."
"Take it back." Rei demands.
"And she has grown a backbone, too." gagged. "It doesn't suit you."
"Asuka-san, don't you think that's enough?" The woman politely asked.
scoffs. "I'll stop whenever I want, Sakura."
At the mention of that name, Toji's brain grinds to a halt and looks at the woman. "S-Sakura…?"
The woman smiles at Toji. "It's nice to see you again, big brother."
Toji collapses on his bed, completely catatonic.
"TOJI!" Hikari calls out.
sighs. "Well, that's enough entertainment for today, I'm leaving." She turns around and walks towards the exit.
Sakura looks at the group and bows. "I'm so sorry! And it was good to see you all again!" She rushes off and leaves the chamber.
With that, everyone tries to process what just happened… and whether or not to believe it.
"There's no way, right…? I… I couldn't have destroyed the world…" Shinji whispers out loud.
"Of course not, baka. You're too much of a wimp to pull that off." Asuka said. "Seriously, why did she have to be such a total bitch? We haven't done anything to her."
"Gee, look who's talking." Toji drily remarks before hearing the sound of nuts cracking.
"Care to say that again?" Asuka demands as she cracks her knuckles.
"Still, I feel like there were some gaps in her story. She clearly wasn't telling us everything." Hikari surmised.
Adam nods. "I am more interested in what she said earlier about swimming in Angel blood. Are the EVAs and Angels connected?"
"How can that be? The Angels are monsters while the EVAs were created by NERV." Kensuke said.
"The same NERV that Misato, my future self, and everyone here is fighting against." Asuka points out.
Adam thinks before a thought dawns on him. "What if the EVAs… are actually Angels?"
Everyone looks at Adam like he grew a second head but the idea didn't seem that far fetched.
"Now that I think about it… that kind of makes sense." Kensuke said. "I mean the only ones with AT Fields are Angels and the EVAs. It would make sense that they're related in some way?"
"But if that's the case then… How DID NERV manage to create the EVAs? They couldn't just capture Angels and then weaponize them." Shinji asks.
"Clones… they are clones." Everyone turns to Rei. "All Evangelion units are created using the genetic sample of a type of Angel called an Adam. The only exception to this is Unit-01 who was created using Lilith as a genetic template."
"Ayanami-san… how do you know all of this?" Hikari asks.
"..." Rei doesn't answer.
"Ayana-Rei." Shinji calls out her name for the first time as he grabs her shoulders. "Tell me…" His grip on her shoulders tightened, he wanted to believe it wasn't true. "... was she right?"
Rei looks down, the bangs of her hair obscuring her eyes. "... yes."
"!?" Shinji gasps and lets go of Rei before falling back to the bed.
Asuka glares at Rei. "... you really ARE the Commander's Pet." She growls. "Just how far involved are you in his plans?"
Rei looks down, ashamed. "…the commander says that I am instrumental to his scenario."
"For what? What could he gain from destroying the world!?" Kensuke yelled. "It doesn't make any sense!"
"I… do not know." Rei reluctantly admits. "But it involves Ikari-kun, Unit-01… and myself."
Suddenly, the room begins to shake.
"W-What was that…?" Kensuke asks anxiously.
F. Asuka was walking through the dimly lit metal halls of the Wunder. After meeting with the time-misplaced group, Sakura returned to her station leaving the ace pilot with her own thoughts as company.
"Ara? By the look on your face, things didn't go like you wanted~"
'Here comes another headache…' A gloved hand grabs her shoulder as a face leans over her shoulder. She has brunette hair tied into twin-tails with bangs parted to the sides. She wears an indigo headband with a white robotic design. Her eyes are teal, and she wears burgundy rimmed glasses. Her plugsuit is mainly pink with white stylized accents and the number "08" printed on her collarbone.
lets out an irritated sigh. "What do you want?"
"Oh nothing, can't the knight come and look for her dashing princess?" She purrs.
Gods give her strength. "Go away."
"But I just found you~" She proceeds to hug her. "So… what's it like?"
"What?"
"Meeting your past self? Must have been weird~"
doesn't look at her. "Shut up, Mari."
The girl, Mari, just snuggles more.
"Ugh, fine. It was weird, alright!?" exclaims. "Weird… and painful."
"What do you mean?" Mari asks.
"... I could see it in their eyes. They still have that light, the hope of a better future. The same light everyone used to have before… this." She states.
"And is that so bad?"
"YES!" Asuka looks at her directly in the eye. "BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE THEY'RE FIGHTING FOR SOMETHING GREAT, WHEN IN REALITY THEIR DOOMING THE WORLD! THEY THINK THAT THEY'RE HEROES WHEN THEY'RE JUST BUTCHERS! JUST LOOKING AT THEM MADE ME SICK TO MY FUCKING STOMACH!"
Mari just stays quiet.
"AND THE WORST PART WAS HE WAS THERE. SHINJI WAS THERE WITH THIS WEIRD TWIN AND ALL I COULD THINK ABOUT WAS SNAPPING THEIR NECKS!" She screams. "HE KEPT LOOKING AT ME WITH HIS INNOCENT EYES AND ALL I COULD DO WAS HOLD MYSELF BACK FROM LITERALLY PUCKING!"
Mari looks confused. "Twin?"
"YES! SHINJI IKARI AND HIS WONDER TWIN! THEY LOOK SO FUCKING IDENTICAL I THOUGHT I WAS SEEING DOUBLE!"
A cheshire-like grin appears on Mari's face. "Ara, sounds to me you've had a good time~"
just growls at her. "Shut up…"
Mari lets her go and begins to skip the opposite way. "Maybe I should pop in and say hello, see what all the fuss is about."
"Whatever…" Suddenly the entire hall begins to shake. "What the hell…?"
"Lieutenant Shikinami and Lieutenant Makinami. Please report to the cages immediately." The intercom sounds off.
Mari dramatically sighs and turns around. "Welp, guess the visit will have to wait. Time to work, Princess."
AAA Wunder Bridge
Misato along with Ritsuko stand on an elevated platform looking down on three seats manned by an older Makoto Hyuga and Shigure Aoba along with a dark-skinned woman with long hair kept in a ponytail and a pale-skinned woman with pink hair and large lips.
"Status report." Misato orders.
"Decoy Drones 1-10 have been destroyed. Ground forces are taking heavy damage." Shigure states.
"Target currently advancing." The pink woman, Sumire, adds.
"Is it an enemy EVA?" Ritsuko asked.
"Negative. No Blue Pattern detected." Makoto said.
"Give me a visual." The screen activates and everyone is a bit surprised by what they're seeing.
"... bring the subjects here. Now." Misato orders.
The scene switches to Chamber 2 as guards suddenly enter the glass cage and proceed to drag everybody out.
Adam stands up from his spot. "What's going on?"
"The captain wants you all at the bridge. Let's go." The guard answers as he grabs his arm and drags him out of the cage.
"H-Hey, I can walk by myself!" Kensuke said.
"Where are you taking us!?" Hikari demands only to get punched in the face.
"Leave her alone!" Toji rushes at the guard only for another puts him in a choke hold.
"The captain wants you all at the bridge. Now move it." The guard states.
"What does Misato want?" Shinji only to get sucker punched himself.
"That's captain to you, brat, and you'll find out soon enough." The guard growls as everyone goes into an elevator.
The doors open and the group walk into the spherical-looking control room but their attention soon shifts to what's on screen.
They saw the Weltall walking forward… with crimson red eyes instead of the usual light green.
"... well? Any suggestions?" Misato's voice snaps them back to reality.
Adam slowly turns his head to the captain. "What did you do?"
"Irrelevant. Can you fix it?"
Adam glares at Misato. "I can't FIX anything until you tell me what you did."
Misato clicks her tongue in annoyance at the boy's defiance while the rest of the personnel glares at him.
Ritsuko decides to break the ice. "We were trying to create a data link between your robot's computer and the MAGI. However, it seems that in our attempt we triggered some kind of security protocol and the robot is moving on its own and advancing towards us."
"Oh… that's bad right?" Toji asked.
Adam looks at Misato. "I need my watch, and one of your computers."
"... do as he says." The guards quickly leave the bridge.
The sounds of crushed ice echoes throughout the area as a massive armored foot comes into view as it takes another step forward. The giant blue robot walks through the icy remains of what it was once known as the Arctic Circle, its red optics burning menacingly with every step.
Suddenly, something hits the robot's head resulting in an explosion.
The perspective switches to show the battleships firing an onslaught of artillery, yet this does not damage or slow down the Weltall.
As the artillery continues its assault, the sides of Weltall's arms sink in and split open as a pair of four black spherical drones with dotted surfaces fly out of each side.
The drones fly forward and stop right above the ships before they start to rotate at break-neck speeds before unleashing a barrage of laser beams that destroy every ship with every hit they take.
The Weltall raises its arms and they fly off like rockets, destroying everything that comes into contact with them.
With the obstacles neutralized, the Weltall continues to walk onwards until the ice under it breaks and the robot quickly sinks into the dead sea. However, this didn't impede the mech as its objective was just on the ocean floor.
*BANG!*
*BANG!*
Something hits the drones, destroying each of them in quick succession.
"Hey, buckethead!" A red fist collides with the right side of Weltall's face, sending the mech crashing towards a nearby glacier.
The scene switches to EVA Unit-02, however, it looks slightly different. Its head is now a gray lower jaw plate, as well as a plate on the right side of the helmet to replace the previous, now damaged, right sensors, the lower one is colored orange and the higher one is considerably smaller than the rest of the sensors. The left arm is also replaced with a prosthetic arm which yields a six-round gatling gun. "How about fighting someone your own size?" taunts.
"As unlady-like as ever." Mari chimes in.
growls. "Why can't you just shut up for once in your life?"
"But then you wouldn't be able to hear my beautiful voice, nya~" Hidden in an underwater cliff is a crouched Evangelion holding a long sniper rifle. It sports a bright pink color scheme with white trim and some yellow details. The helmet of the unit sports three horns aimed slightly backwards, with eight individual eyes colored neon green distributed in the front.
Inside the entry plug, Mari is playing with a holographic cube as she watches Unit-02 hitting the blue robot. "You looked very cool by the way, like an amazon warrior~"
"Just keep an eye on this thing and shoot it the first chance you get."
"Well, I don't think you'll have to wait that long." Mari remarks as the Weltall quickly retaliates.
Unit-02 reacts too late and gets sucker punched to the face, the strength causing the lower jaw plate to be dislodge from its hinges. It doesn't stop and hits the EVA with an onslaught of punches causing to scream as she feels every hit her unit takes.
"FUCK!" screams out before sending a murderous glare at the mech. "I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU!"
Unit-02 kicks the mech, disrupting its equilibrium long enough for the EVA to make some distance. "Eat N2 shells, shithead!" It raises its right arm as the gatling gun barrels start to rotate and fire at the robot.
However, to the veteran pilots' shock and horror, an AT Field materializes in front of the mech and deflects all of the rounds.
"Okay… this could be tricky." Mari mutters.
Meanwhile…
Adam sits in one of the terminals typing, his watch crudely hooked up directly into the machinery as he gains access to the Weltall's systems.
Kensuke watches the Weltall launching its drones. "I didn't know the ship had those things."
"I don't think anyone did, man." Toji adds.
"... goddammit! Just what the fuck did you people do to my ship!?" Adam exclaims. "Look at this! Your MAGI Achiral is sending the Weltall abnormal commands and believes it's a virus! It also doesn't help that you created a half-assed data stream where the data gets easily corrupted."
"Can you shut it down?" Rei asks.
"I'm trying but you morons triggered every security protocol imaginable. It'll take me days just to go through it all." Adam states.
"We don't have days, so you either find a way to stop your robot now," Misato pulls the detonator out of her jacket "or die."
The group looked in shock and clear fear at the sight of the detonator.
Adam stops typing for a moment before he continues his work. "If you think showing off your little toy is gonna scare me then you're surely mistaken."
Misato glares at the boy. "You will do as you are told, boy."
Adam chuckles. "You know, I find it ironic that you are fighting against NERV even though you are acting exactly like Commander Ikari." He remarks. "I mean, here you are acting cold and callous, barking orders with no concern over the long-term consequences of your decisions." He scoffs. "Nothing's changed. You are all still working for NERV but under a different name; history repeating itself."
Misato was reaching her boiling point. "You watch your mouth! You have no idea what I've done, the amount of sacrifices that I've had to make to keep everyone alive!"
Adam doesn't reply and continues working on the firewalls. "There. I found a blackdoor to the mainframe, it should take me about 10 minutes to force a system-wide reset."
"Uh, Adam? You may want to rethink that." Kensuke points to the screen and everyone sees Weltall deploying an AT Field.
"... is there something you want to tell us?" Misato asked.
Adam continues typing. "Quiet, I'm working."
Back to the fight
"An AT Field!? This thing's an Angel!?" Asuka exclaims.
Mari scans the mech. "I'm getting all sorts of readings from that big lug, I can't make heads or tails of it."
"So what? It's one of the Adams!?"
"No, not that either. I can't say for sure but I think we may be dealing with something else all together." Mari said.
"Like what!?"
"Something old, something powerful, something that shouldn't exist in this world." Mari grabs her control sticks. "I should start taking this more seriously, or else we all be in big trouble."
The pink EVA pulls the trigger and fires, resulting in a flash of light as the bullet leaves the barrel and travels at near light speeds for its target.
It hits its target, causing the mech to be pushed back from the ricochet.
Mari continues firing more rounds, wearing down its AT Field until it shatters causing the mech to become disoriented.
The red EVA's left pylon opens and it proceeds to pull out its Progressive Knife and activate it. "I'm gonna gut you open like a fish." Unit-02 rushes forward, raising its knife high to finish it off.
Only for the head of the robot to snap to her direction.
"What!?" Asuka's caught off guard and before she knew it, she was pinned to the sea bed by the Weltall. "Let me go, you overrated toy!" The robot proceeds to hold the EVA's right arm before snapping it at an awkward angle breaking it. "AAAAHHHHH!"
The robot begins to pull the prosthetic upwards, the sounds of grinding metal fill the ocean floor before the arm is ripped right off the socket and thrown away. It cocks its arm back, and proceeds to deliver a haymaker that is so strong cracks begin to appear and spread throughout the seafloor.
"Shit! Princess, princess!" Mari calls out but there's no response. "Dammit! This can't get any worse!" He looks at the monitor and sees the Weltall looking right at her before deploying a massive head-mounted cannon aimed right for her. "Me and my big mouth."
The scene switches to a zoomed out cliff before it gets hit and quickly collapses.
"Unit-02'β and Unit-08 are down!" Makoto exclaims.
"Cranial damage, severity is unknown!"
"Moderate spinal damage confirmed for Unit-08!"
"Status on the pilots!" Misato demands.
"Unit-02'β's synchronization connection was cut just before it hit. Pilot's vital signs are normal."
"And Unit-08?"
"She's alright, but her EVA is currently buried in debris and requests an ETA on her extraction."
"Target is back on the move and is heading towards us!"
Misato's grip on the rails tighten as he glares down at Adam. "How. Much. Longer?"
"..." Adam is too focused on the multiple windows appearing in his monitor screen.
"Target has reached the final defense line!" The scene switches to show drones firing at Weltall but the artillery guns on the robot's shoulders align and open fire destroying the drones.
"The drones have been destroyed!" Makoto cries, sounding a bit frightened as the whole room begins to shake in a consistent pattern.
"Target is advancing. 100 meters!" Sumire states.
The Weltall walks towards the stationed Wunder.
Shinji looks on in fear before his attention shifts downward and sees a frightened Asuka clinging tightly to his left arm for dear life. He then uses his right arm and wraps himself around her shoulders, embracing her.
Asuka is taken by surprise but doesn't fight it as a warm feeling blooms inside her.
Toji and Hikari do the same but their space is suddenly invaded by a scared Kensuke jumping on them like that dog from that old cartoon.
Rei stares at Adam's back in anticipation as he continues working without stopping.
"40 meters!"
The Weltall stands right above the command bridge.
Scripts of code can be seen being created on the monitor at high speeds. Sweat rolls down Adam's forehead as he almost finishes it.
"0 METERS!"
Weltall raises its arms as high as it can, ready to smash the Wunder to pieces.
"THERE!" Adam presses a key on the terminal and his monitor turns green as the words "ACCESS GRANTED. SHUTDOWN SEQUENCE INITIATED." appear.
The Weltall's arms descend but stop by just an inch of hitting the outer hull. Its red eyes change back to their line green before the robot straightens itself as the light from its eyes dim completely.
"You did it!" The gang cheer on as the crisis is averted.
Adam leans back, sighing in relief at the close call. However, this is all short-lived as the group is quickly apprehended.
"Hey, stop!" Adam demands but he is punched in the gut by one of the guards. "Guh!"
"You have a lot of explaining to do, brat. And I intend to get my answers one way or another." Misato declares.
"Go… to hell…!" Adam groans out and is met with further violence.
"NO!" Rei yells but gets a punch to the face.
"Rei!" Shinji gets punched in the jaw, knocking him out.
The rest of the group proceeds to get beaten up as well while those who watched can't help but feel a bit disturbed.
Adam slowly looks up at Misato, his right eye swollen shut and his nose crooked. "You really… are like Gendo…"
"... get them out of my sight." Misato orders.
A guard steps forward and hits Adam in the face with the butt of his rifle.
All that Adam knew from that point was darkness.

First update in two months!
So, first of all, I'M NOT DEAD! I've just been busy with college, and between this and my job, I had to prioritize.
Anyways, midterms are now over and there's only one month left of the semester. Please don't hassle me about updates in the comments section, I'll work on them when I can.
… so yeah, that's that. I thought I had more to say about school but I guess not.
