Dormant Beast

If there was one thing Karmi would have wanted to hear when meeting the real Live Amara aside from the autograph she would have liked to hear no other troubles, and in the most part it was that case. That was until she tested one invention she had perfected, a DNA analyzer to detect abnormalities. It was shattering news finding out about the fact that her evil clone Di had in her a special leftover from her chip, the fact that the mutant DNA from the chip had not completely vanished from her genes, those things were of course after feeling a sense of dizziness for some time which she couldn't explain, sometimes she thought that it was due to not eating enough finding out about this is of course was not something she wished to find out. Of course the good news it those are fleeing remnants that could activate when on heavy stress.

"I really am sorry for those news Karmi. This isn't something I wished to impart onto you I do blame myself for the conduct of Diane." Liv said with shame.

"She might have been your clone. But her actions are hers not yours, I do admit that I saw you as an inspiration until she ruined it." Karmi said, and it was true at one time she saw her with a sense of idealizing her, of course doing everything and copying everything another person does is the act of a fool now in her view.

"But I don't blame you for trying to cure yourself the ways that she used however cannot be overlooked, but it wasn't your fault."

"If there is one thing to know, is that this for me was a lesson t never do again, on one side and on the other to use this as a caution for others to never do that mistake again." She said to the 20 year old biotech graduate.

"I know, but the thought of having those remnants of a genetic freak in me will never be pleasant." Karmi said.

"They will wear off completely, but the problem is for the moment they are dormant." Liv said as she looked over the analysis. "According to the results it seems like in order for them to activate it only needs a 'boost' if we can call that; this could happen if there are extreme feelings of anger or something like this." She said taking a deep breath. "Of course those kind of events could also happen out of sudden due to high degree of stress or other things."

"This remind me now of the story of the hulk." Karmi commented, she never was with comics but she could recognize some things like those.

"Indeed, the only thing I can say is that there is a difference, and that is this time those remnants will wear off, while with the hulk it became….don't wish to tell with you around." Liv said.

"Permanent? It is not necessary to keep it a secret, personally I am only glad those things are temporary. The only thing is that in order to get rid of them is only if I turn so they could wear off." Karmi said.

"If you want to know, you can try to create an antidote to not live through that experience again although it would be quite risky in this regard."

"I know that. But I believe that I can manage in a way or the other." Karmi said before Liv placed a hand on her shoulder.

"If you ever need any help just call me. And I will do what I can."

"Thank you but I believe I will be able to mend this in one way or the other. And again I really don't blame you for what you had to do to save yourself. It really isn't your fault for what had happened, the fact that your clone went rogue was all on her." Karmi said.

"Thank you for the understanding." Liv said.

Later

Returning to her apartment Karmi was trying not to think too much about what Liv had told her some moments ago and went on with her work. Of course it was with a bit of difficulty, she decided to rather take a hot shower to relax herself. By all accounts taking a shower is somehow helping relaxing her mind and body. Staying under the stream of hot water while moving her hands across her body she was feeling a sense of relaxation while humming to herself. Despite this however glimpses were coming in her head of what she was told earlier making her stressed, she was now trying her best to keep that though away but to no avail. Stopping brushing her hair she placed her hands on the ceramic wall of the shower while letting water going over her.

"I might as well try to drown myself in the shower now." She said to herself.

"That clone nearly ruined my life." She said in frustration clenching her fists. "If it wasn't for Hiro I…." The thought and remembering the command Di gave to her to do with Hiro only disgusted her, in time he also showed that he was his fabled superhero captain and she joined the team "Hiro, if it wasn't for him I would not have him now, however I wish to have had listened to him earlier, damn this arrogance that I had." She said punching the ceramic before feeling something tingling only to notice claws forming.

"No, no, no." Karmi said trying to calm herself taking deep breaths and they managed to make them retreat to sight in relief.

"Close call." She said to herself stopping the stream of water and whipped the water off her forehead to get out of the shower to take a towel to dry herself while looking at her hands.

"Just like with the story of the hulk. It could happen to high degree of stress, however. Just like Liv said this situation is supposed to come out so it could vanish completely."

"And yet it is still unpleasant." Karmi said as she dries herself and put on a night bathrobe to get to the bedroom of her apartment. After returning to finish SFIT and after graduating she had bought herself a small apartment in the city and found herself a job, it was practical because she will be able to be with Hiro and the team. Getting herself dressed with a black nightgown, she was prepared to go to sleep before a message came in on her phone. The message was from Hiro.

Hiro: Karmi hope I am not intruding but I wish to know if you remember our date tomorrow.' She read before starting to type her reply.

Karmi: Don't worry, I didn't forgot we will see tomorrow night.

Hiro: Wonderful, I wish to know however if you were able to talk with Liv and if everything is alright.

Karmi: I have and everything is fine between us, but there will be some things that I wish to talk with you about when we meet tomorrow at our date.

Hiro: Is it serious?

Karmi: I shall tell you more when we meet.

Hiro: Alright.

She ended the messaging as she now started to prepare herself to go to sleep, although she would want to find out how she could access this mutated form, in a sense it was a thought that was giving her literal shivers but she still wondered, with a certain degree of worry on how this could happen, and if it could happen randomly, but by what she saw it could happen very much at stress or anger.

"Stress and anger is the thing that trigger, but I wonder if it could be something else aside from this." Karmi thought to herself, however thinking of this a somehow feeling of anger was starting to form an instinctive anger thinking about the one responsible for this before she started to feel a sense of dizziness.

"Damn you Diane-AARGH" A rush of pain was rushing through her body, it triggered, she now realized what was happening as she leaned with her hand on the bedside during which time her hands were turning green and claws were coming out alongside translucent spines on her forearms before the back of her nightgown ripped and spines came out as well, while her feet was beginning to become digitigrade structure with claws too. Despite the pain however Karmi kept her mind clear and in control.

"STOP!" She called as she regained control over her body, but not before some things came out and Karmi went to look into a mirror, in all senses she saw a picture of how she looked when the chip was activated, but this time it was not the case, she was still green with the scales but to no degree the original.

"Urgh, this is so unpleasant." She said to herself as she turned away from the mirror. "Now how am I going to get this form to withdraw?" She asked as she tried to think on how this could be done, of course the idea was obvious immediately due to her sudden rush of anger so she decided to try to calm herself closing her eyes and taking deep breath before exhaling relaxing her body and somehow it was starting to work, the mutated form was beginning to withdraw and she felt it till they all withdrew.

"At least I know I must try to avoid been angry." The Indian girl said before giving up a yawn deciding to go to sleep wanting to be ready for tomorrow and also having to buy a new nightgown to replace the one it was nearly ripped apart nearly exposing her middle body but still covering her body. Leaning down on her bed she closed her eyes to sleep, trying to be positive for the next day although it was difficult for her right now.

"Don't want to know who would like to be in such a predicament." She murmured as she was trying to sleep.

The next day

Karmi had went through her routine, waking up early and started to do her work, of course she and Hiro were to all intents and purposes protégés in making their own company, she and her boyfriend were of course working hard to achieve this objective. By all accounts despite the knowledge of the still mutated remnants she is able to focus on her own work and will do her best to continue. Of course she was also preparing for her date with Hiro that will be in the evening, she took a black sleeveless dress that was going to her knees and high heel black shoes with a black purse ready for the evening date. Hearing a knock on the door indicated that Hiro had arrived.

"Time for your night." Karmi said to herself in the mirror as she went to open the door, to see his 21 year old boyfriend all dress in a formal attire with a tie and having a bouquet of flowers and by the look on the young man's face he really was amazed by what she was wearing.

"Wow." He started with a shy smile.

"Yeah I know might be too much probably." Karmi said with a shy smile as she took the bouquet and made him a sign to enter.

"N-no it's fine really." Hiro said a bit with a nervous smile. "So ready?"

"Yeah, I-I am." Karmi said with a smile. "So where is we are going?"

"You will see soon." Hiro said with a smile as they exited the apartment closing the apartment Karmi followed Hiro outside.

At the restaurant

"Ooh Hiro." Karmi said surprise that he had chosen a fancy restaurant with columns at the gate and with a waiter looking over the booking of the ones who had booked in.

"Good evening sir, madam do you require a table." Asked the woman waiter.

"I had booked a table with the name Hiro Hamada." He said as the waiter looked over and found him.

"Table 12, follow me." She said as they followed her to their table with the menus already placed.

"I believe that it was quite expensive." Karmi asked.

"It wasn't quite cheap but I wanted to impress you." Hiro said before noticing something a table back.

"And you really did with this place." Karmi said with a smile.

"Well I couldn't do low for my girlfriend now." Hiro said trying to ignore that who was at a corner of the restaurant however Karmi noticed this and nearly panicked thinking about the remnants.

"I-is something behind me?" Karmi said tracking his attention.

"Ooh s-sorry, there is something I must tell you." Hiro started.

"What is it?" She asked as the young man pointed to a woman behind her, a well dressed woman that surely was very rich without a doubt with a rich brown hair and tanned skin.

"That woman Barbara Minerva is someone Fred had identify though criminal records at his home, he met her during an official dinner he had to attend, just arrived in the city." Hiro explained.

"What is she doing here and what is she doing?"

"According to the records she was an archeologist but in reality she rules a criminal syndicate and a crime lord that collects ancient artifacts." Hiro explained.

"Wonder how Fred managed to stay put."

"He found out after he and his mother met her and of course called me before arriving to your place about also trying to watch her if he does something off." Hiro explained.

"And will you?" Karmi asked.

"I told him that if there is something off with her I will do it, but for now I want to enjoy our date." Hiro said making her smile.

"A hero's job doesn't end easily." Karmi said with a chuckle. "Still if something comes off with her we shall saw to it together."

"Agreed but not for now at the moment." Hiro said as they looked over the menu and they ordered 2 courses and dessert during which time they sometimes took a look at the woman crime lord and luck would have it there was nothing odd about anything. So everything was going normally till the dessert came.

"This evening was wonderful Hiro." Karmi said smiling to him.

"I am happy to hear that." He said as he moved his hand towards her.

"That is why I wanted to have this date."

"I know that." Before Karmi felt something on her forearm, thinking that it was the chimera coming out she had to get to the bathroom.

"Excuse me for a bit?" Karmi said as she went out to the ladies' bathroom she was lucky that there was no one in there, yet.

"Why now." She commented as she went for the sink opening the water to come down to both was her hands as well as her forearms where green scales appeared.

"Please not now." Karmi commented concentrating to retract it and be back to normal and trying to calm herself just when the door opened and to her surprise it was Barbara Minerva.

"Ooh I didn't know that someone will be here now." She said looking surprised.

"I needed to refresh myself." Karmi said.

"A bit stressed? I know how that is."

"Really?"

"Of course, social gatherings, meetings and so on. One always gets stressed even if there are not many around." She said.

"S-sure, that is a good assessment." Karmi commented before leaving the toilet.

"Only there is another situation that is a problem for me." She murmured going back to her seat with Hiro waiting for her concerned.

"Karmi, is everything alright?"

"Yeah, just a bit tired." She said although Hiro was a bit concerned about this.

"I don't think that is the case." Hiro said. "Is something bothering you? Has Liv when you visited her told you something problematic when you were there?" He said as Karmi sighted.

"Yes, Liv had created an analyzer of DNA that detects anomalies and it seems that Di's chip was to call it a 'special one' it left a bit of the creature in me." Karmi said concerning the young man.

"According to her the remnants were dormant for a time before they are now coming out, they will disappear in time but several transformations will occur."

"What happened was an attempted transformation?" Hiro asked.

"Unfortunately, last night there was a partial one I figured that I can stop it and control it problem is however." Karmi started.

"If it isn't full it could result in not disappearing faster." Hiro said.

"Indeed."

"So what can we do in this case?"

"I believe I have to go with it for now at this moment."

"Are you sure?"

"I will figure something out; in any case I really don't want to have this chimera in me." Said Karmi.

"I will help you with that I don't want you to suffer." Hiro said placing his hand on hers'.

"I know that." She said with a smile as she gave him a kiss on his cheek. "We do make a great team together."

"I am glad that you trust me." Hiro said to her before Karmi noticing Barbara meeting with a coated man that appeared to have an eye patch at her table.

"It seems like she is now talking to a possible client or she would probably want to buy an artifact from him." The young woman said.

"Should we try to eavesdrop on her?"

"Got a better idea." Hiro said showing her a chip that was actually a small radio to hear them. "Besides we can't go without paying the dinner yet."

"Good point." Karmi said with a chuckle as Hiro walked by the crime lord before tripping a bit near the woman.

"Ooh sorry." Hiro said as he pretended to be a bit drowsy.

"No worries." Barbara said with a calm smile not noticing that the listening device was planted as the young man returned to his chair with his date.

"All set?" Karmi asked.

"Yes." Hiro said as he pulled out his phone that was linked to the listening device.

'So do you have the artifact?' Barbara asked.

'Not quite, another one had bought the Eye of the Cat he goes by the name of Jiro Takahera. He is at his warehouse.' Said the man.

'How unfortunate, but not to worry I can be very persuasive in this regard.'

'Why are you so interested in gaining this medallion?'

'It will be another part of my collection. There is no way I let a good artifact go to waste.'

'You are surely not someone to be crossed from what I can see.'

'Do you have any comments in that regard?'

'No, just making an observation.'

'In any case.' Barbara started finishing her wine 'It shall be very fun for me by toying with this one to gain the Eye. I will be in my car.' She said as she placed some bills down to pay for her order before leaving.

"Wonder what the Eye of the Cat is." Hiro said before the waiter came with the bill.

"I shall look for it." Karmi said taking out her phone while Hiro paid the bill to the waiter.

"I found it, according to this it is an ancient Egyptian artifact linked with the Egyptian cat goddess Bastet. From what I can tell it is very valuable and there is some legend linked to it, that whoever posses it will be able to control or understand cats." Karmi said.

"I believe she is more for the fact that it is valuable rather than for the legend." Hiro said as the two left the restaurant following Barbara before she left with her car.

"Do you really intend to follow her now?" Karmi asked.

"I wouldn't actually do that, my aunt had those problems when going on dates due to the fact that many of her dates left before finishing. She always said that she had problems with those kinds of things and to be honest I wouldn't do that." Hiro said.

"I know you wouldn't, but I don't think this is a situation you could compare to your aunt's dates especially if I know of the 'side' activities you are doing." Karmi said with a smile as he looked at her.

"You would let me do it?"

"On one side, and on the other, we had gone through our date successfully plus I want to support your in this at least to first find out what she would do." Karmi said with a smirk.

"Agreed." Hiro said with a chuckle as the two went to an alley to call Skymax.

Later that evening

Hiro and Karmi in their armors had arrived on Baymax near the location where Barbara Minerva went to in order to 'discuss' about the Eye of the Cat. In most cases the discussion has been "quite quick" if one could call it that, when one is extorting such things. And of course the Eye of the Cat was really an impressive necklace all made of gold with a cat shape head.

"Appreciate to do business with you." Barbara said with a smirk.

"I don't think tying the owner of an artifact is part of business." Hiro said from the rooftop tracking Barbara's attention.

"Big Hero 6 I should have expected that you would come by although not half of the team." She said with a smirk.

"Believe us it's not like we had a choice, even so I don't think the way you took the Eye of the Cat was to the liking of the Egyptian patron Goddess of the cats." Karmi called behind her mask.

"If you want to know I serve two deities in my field, can you guess what present each of them gave me?" She said with a smirk.

"One of them should be money, from what I know you have to be extremely wealthy to rely on hired muscle to get something valuable like that I doubt the real owner of the Eye gave it to you because of your looks." Hiro said.

"I do admit money is really one of my deities but it did not gave me the eye, and good looks could be a second one but I would be lying."

"Because the deity whose medallion you hold right now is a cat that has claws and would surely use them if you try something. You should be careful in this case." Karmi said from behind her mask while Minerva placed the medallion in her car but she didn't entered herself.

"So does this cat." She said with a smirk before she started to groan in pain and from what they see her muscles were growing as her clothes were starting to rip up as yellow fur with black spots fur was growing through her body while she was growing to have the height of nearly 3 cm.

"Roooaaarrr!" She exclaimed as she literally turned into an anthropomorphic monster cheetah.

"This is not some pleasant view I wished to see." Hiro said now surprised about this turn of events.

"Well what did you 3 expected to see, did you really believed I will come here alone without been prepared, my mother had worshipped the goddess Urd Takar and this is the gift of Urd Takar. You surely don't believe in such things since you probably are in such a city known for technologies not so much with myths." Said the woman.

"You know maybe we can try to talk this out." Karmi said as the woman showed her claws as she scratched the wall nearby.

"I think this gives the answer." She said with a smirk indicating that she wouldn't back down now.

"Cat fight?" Baymax asked.

"Big Cat Fight!" She started jumping up where the two were watching, the two managed to avoid it in the nick of time only for her to land on the roof now. The monster cat jumped towards the three heroes just when Karmi conjured up a shield for her to parry her hit.

"Baymax rocket fist." Hiro said as the robot launched a rocket fist towards the woman it managed to hit her, but she managed to get away to come back to them.

"You are not going to do much against me." She said with a smirk trying another strike against them, they were now starting to doge this monster, problem is however next she was proving to be faster than them. Hiro and Karmi jumping onto the street they started to try hit and run tactics to try to retreat and run and hide. This act was however taking a toll on Karmi in the stress department.

"Well she is more problematic then I imagined should have thought of that." Hiro said.

"It's alright Hiro it isn't you who is at fault we both didn't know about this." Karmi said feeling more and stranger in her body.

"Karmi is something wrong?" He asked worried.

"H-Hiro, it's the stress that is coming, I believe that the creature…." Karmi said trying to calm herself with breaths.

"Oh no this is not the perfect time." Hiro said fearful although now she felt this might be the only possibility now to beat this one.

"Or…. Can't believe I say this but it might be the only way to solve this." Karmi said before they heard Minerva.

"Come out, come out I know you are there." Called the cat woman although she is only toying with them.

"We have to get out of here." Hiro said but Karmi grabbed him by the hand.

"Hiro….trust me…..this might be the only way…..I only need you to track her attention for a moment."

"I don't want something to happen to you."

"Don't worry I believe I will manage." She said as Hiro's face become firmer before coming into the view of the woman.

"If you are looking for me, I am right here." He called.

"At last." Minerva said coming before him.

"What other tricks do you have?" She asked.

"You will see." Hiro started as he started he launched a magnet only for her to doge them but she didn't expected electric bindings to come out and immediately grabbed her feet.

"I still got some surprises in stored."

"And where is your partner, the young woman, has she got anymore." She said with a smirk dismissing this bondage.

"She still has something in stored for you." Hiro said before Minerva tried to cut herself free.

"Until them let's play." Minerva said as she tried to attack him and Baymax.

"Those kinds of outbursts could start to cause lots of troubles." Baymax said.

" And it will be your case." The cheetah monster said while in the meantime Karmi who was still hidden was sweating more and more that she had to remove her helmet as she felt the transformation surging through her body.

"ARGH!" Karmi screamed as the transformation was commencing, her feet made her boots to burst making them digitigrated with claws while her hands were turning green and claws were coming out alongside translucent spines on her forearms before they appeared on her back ripping part of her armor and part of her cloths she however did managed to keep her facial appearance normal despite the tentacles replaced her hair. She was now back in her mutated form although partially she was taller and green scaled her abdomen visible, the most important thing is her having her facial expression normal and had full awareness of her surroundings before she noticed the cat monster fighting Hiro.

"Alright mutated form, let's see if you can give me an advantage." She said as she leaped towards Minerva punching her hard in the face throwing her against a wall.

"I guess you are not the only monster here." Called Karmi before Minerva saw her.

"So it seems you do have some gift that was hidden so far." She said.

"There is one difference, what you see before you is no gift it is an unpleasant necessity I have to make use off now." Karmi said before Minerva leaped herself towards the young woman who managed to doge her and punch her hard in the abdomen throwing her into the wall.

"This is not something we wish to do." Karmi said.

"Too bad." The cat monster said. "I like the thrill of the battle." She said as she started to again attack only for Karmi to stop her by grabbing her by the hands with her own, Karmi was now fighting hand to hand, claw to claw with this monsters while Hiro watch in essence he felt like he was witnessing a violent horror movie or a monster battle video game. He however didn't wanted to stay behind.

"Baymax we have to help Karmi, can we do something to stop Minerva."

"Our best option to stop anymore violence is by tranquilizing, luckily I can use something that could accomplish the task." Baymax said as a needle came through his pointing finger, the needle been a syringe that is linked to a reserve of anesthetic.

"We need only for her to come to you to us so we can administer it." Said Hiro before powering up his magnetic gauntlets as he went in right after Karmi managed to push the cat monster away.

"Karmi I got a plan." Hiro said.

"I am all ears."

"We have to get Minerva to Baymax for him to administer her with an anesthetic so we could numb her to finish this fight." Hiro said as he threw two disks at her one that stick to her the other to a wall to hold her for now.

"Easier said than done even in this form that I am right now, she is really resilient." Karmi said preparing he claws for another duel.

"We only need to keep her still for a few seconds. Here is how we will do; I will use my gauntlets to place another disk on the wall in order to stuck her while Baymax uses the anesthetic. It must be close to him." Hiro said before turning to the feline monster.

"I think I know how." Karmi started knowing that pride could sometimes be a good ally to exploit against your opponent.

"Hey cat freak, did your deity manage to even give you enough strength to even beat us? I did not saw that so far." Karmi called tauntingly.

"You want more, here I come." Minerva called as she launched at them but the two managed to doge as she landed on an opposite wall the way it went cracked it, turning around however the creature leaped again towards them however the trap was already set, Karmi grabbed her by the arm and threw her into the wall where the disks were planted having her now captured with the electrical bondages.

"NOW BAYMAX!" Hiro called as Baymax launched the syringe with anesthetic, the sting didn't hurt much.

"You think that you could stop me that easily!" She said while trying to get out of the trap before she was feeling a numbing sensation.

"Urgh, what is…..going on?" She started.

"Time for you to sleep kitty." Hiro said with a smirk as he activated his magnetic gauntlets getting the Eye of the Cat.

"You…..pricks." She said before turning unconscious due to the anesthetic.

"Well that was quite interesting." Karmi said.

"It wasn't however how our date should have ended to tell the truth." Hiro said to her girlfriend.

"Maybe, but at least it had a real thrill in it, unlike other dates some other people have." Karmi said with a smile.

"I know, with maybe the exception of the monster part, seriously I believe Fred would start to make lots of stories with this adventure if he ever find out about the duel of two creatures one made by supernatural of some twisted deity while the other by remnants of mad science." Hiro said.

"Already can imagine that." She said really uncomfortable with the though.

"Still what did Liv told you on how many times you might transform somehow I see that it isn't the full form but somehow the 75 percent." Hiro asked.

"A few more times probably but at least I am able to be myself in this form. Surprisingly I am able to stop the transformation to some points at least probably controlling which part of the body I can use it." Karmi said before a sly smile had formed.

"At least to have my normal feature and I am able to do something now." Karmi said.

"And what would that be." Hiro asked before Karmi grabbed him by the armor with one hand while with the other she removed his helmet.

"This." She pressed her lips on his lips, the sensation for Hiro was strange due to her skin been a different however despite her skin been green now but she was also still soft before they separated.

"Wow." Hiro made not expecting this.

"You think I would not try this?" Karmi asked.

"Really was a surprise." Hiro said with a smile.

"And I as a bonus I would be able to leap from rooftop to rooftop although I can do this in the normal way, gives me a speed boost still." Karmi said.

"So in some way, you would use this time by time, isn't it?" Hiro asked with a chuckle.

"Like what I said to this crime boss, it is an unpleasant necessity, but one that still can be put to good use as long as I keep this out of sight." She said with a chuckle. Hiro after returning the Eye of the Cat back they had departed to their respective homes, Karmi of course decided to leap from roof to roof till she reached her apartment. Her leaping through rooftops in that form was in essence an exciting experience in all aspects especially with her extra strength that she got.

"Diane was a hag and I would never indeed forgive her for this. However when I have this form in control I do somehow feel excited about this. And after today with Miss Minerva maybe even an unpleasant necessity could be of use sometimes at least until it wears off." She said before started to take deep calming breaths for the mutated part to retreat back to normal, readying herself to turn in for the night Karmi removed her armor that had in essence resisted very well, part of it was with Skymax, however what was beneath it, her black dress was however nearly ruined, although she admitted that many had bareback dresses sometimes at least one of the straps had snapped almost revealing her right breast.

"Urgh, with this been however a downside." She commented as she undressed to change into her nightgown to get to sleep.

" 'yawn' Good thing I wasn't in an awkward situation."
