The night fell and Katsuki woke up to see Shoto was still up. Bakugo paused his MP3 player and felt for his phone. Shit. He remembered- his phone was back at UA. He decided to sit up and look across the shelter at Todoroki. Katsuki waved his arm up and down swiftly, twice to catch Shoto's attention. Todoroki ignored him and put on in earbuds to his own music.
Feeling annoyed, Bakugo rolled onto his left side and tried to sleep. He woke up at four a.m. And realized that he was wet. He groaned inwardly and unzipped the side of his sleeping bag. He swung his feet off the side and was just about to push off of the vinyl mattress, but froze when footsteps came up. It was Aizawa. He waved for Katsuki to follow after opening the wooden screen door, silently. Once they got outside and away from the circle of other glen shelters, the teen spotted some figures in the distance- they were sitting by a campfire in the middle of the cabins. Jiro was upset about something and she was directly in their path, crying to Mic.
Aizawa grabbed Bakugo's arm and towed him in another direction- a slightly longer one- to the back of the med bay and staff trailer, where neither Shota nor Hizashi had slept yet, but had a room. Aizawa was trying to get himself and Bakugo to the staff trailer because that's where the meds and spare nighttime underwear was stashed. Once they went the back of the trailer, and up a set of old attached wooden stairs, the brightness of fluorescent lights hit Katsuki's eyes. He squinted.
"You're free to talk now." Shota informed the boy. "Does your throat hurt?"
"No?" Katsuki said, with too much angst and a hint of confusion.
"You were screaming." Aizawa informed. "Now go change and let's get you back to bed because I have to do rounds."
The teacher was sifting through a box for the pack that had Bakugo's briefs and handed him one with a trial-sized tube of medicated ointment. The teen tiredly grabbed the items and went into the bathroom, pulling down his pants below his butt, and un-tabbing the diaper before lifting the toilet seat and trying to empty out his bladder. A few drips of urine trickled out and that was it. He groaned, shook his member, and stuffed it into his pants. He washed his hands and walked out. Aizawa sighed and turned the boy around, sending him back in.
"Briefs, remember?" He asked.
"Oh." Katsuki said.
"Oh, indeed." Aizawa returned.
When Bakugo came out, padded this time, Aizawa asked for the ointment, which when he checked, still had the tamper-evident foil seal. Bakugo hadn't applied any.
Mic came in, Todoroki behind.
The tired voice hero was ready for 2 hours of sleep, finally. He yawned. "I did your round- Yikes, Sho- what's with the face?"
Aizawa was ready to spank Bakugo for not using the rash cream, but let Shoto change briefs and used that time to lecture him instead. He gave his student the choice to use the medicated ointment or not.
"I'm fine. Swear." Katsuki promised. He got to go back to bed, and walked by Mic.
"If we catch you wigglin like a worm on a hook tomorrow-" Mic threatened. "You will be missing the afternoon activity for a time out. I'll wake you up in an hour or two. Goodnight."
Morning arrived way too soon, and Mic awoke the campers with a song that had the lyrics Wake the heck up or I'll wake you up PERSONALLY. Please for the love of All Might just get up and meet at the campfire in 10 minutes with your toothbrush and face wash. Thank youuuuuu.
The boys awoke and Midoriya was the only one who made it through, dry, in the end. Nonetheless, they got ready in their gym clothes and running shoes and met with their toiletries at the center of the campfire. It was Snipe and Midnight who were leading the Class 1-A and 1-B students to the bathhouse a quarter mile down the trail.
"I heard screaming last night. It was spooky." Uraraka said.
"I was sound asleep." Mina Ashido laughed while yawning. "Besides, I require beauty sleep. That's how I look so good."
Yaoyurozu raised and eyebrow. "You really heard nothing?"
Jiro was shaking. "Can we just focus on today?" The screaming had apparently triggered her and she had to sit with Mic by the fire for 30 minutes before she felt safe enough to sleep again.
Denki and Eijirio, however, were laughing their asses off and walking with Katsuki, who was in a somber mood. And itchy. The boy was itchy. Diaper rash was no joke.
"Dude- Let. Loose." Kirishima said, pounding Bakugo's shoulder.
"I'm in the zone." Bakugo said.
"What zone?" Kamianri asked. "You look like you're in the Phantom Zone, my guy. Like you've seen a ghost."
"I didn't sleep well." Bakugo returned. "That's all."
Finally, they all brushed their teeth and washed their faces before putting away their toiletries in cubbies and heading down the trail, further, for some breakfast and then a run through the area. The catch? NO quirks- they had to run on their feet.
Damned be the rash- Bakugo was going to run the fastest! He was determined. At the end of the race, however, Aizawa pulled him aside.
Midoriya finished second and Todoroki, third. Iidya took fourth place. He wasn't used to not using his engine quirk.
"What's up with Mr. Aizawa? He looks pissed." Midoriya noted. Todoroki was drinking water from a paper cup he had been handed. The Twice-Quirked boy shrugged.
"I dunno. Bakugo probably did something last night. He left our cabin around five."
"YEAHHHHH! THAT'S WHAT I LIKE TO SEE!" Mic cheered as the final kids joined the group. He gathered them up and explained that that evening, they would be doing a challenge by the lake: Class 1-A versus Class 1-B. Until then, it was back to the dining hall, where they would have some lessons and be debriefed on the challenge.
Katsuki was nowhere to be found. Finally annoyed that his friend was always missing, Kirishima walked up to Snipe, whom was handing out paper cups of water from a cooler.
"Mr. Snipe?" Eijirio asked as the cooler was tilted and emptied.
"Yes?" The gun-wielding master asked.
Kirishima scratched his head. "Um, can I ask you something?" The teacher nodded and Eijirio continued. "I know that Bakugo has been through some pretty nasty shit with the League- I mean, we all have- but, like, he got kidnapped and stuff and... I just want to know. Um. When am I getting my friend back?"
Snipe hung his head, slightly and sighed.
A hand was placed on Kirishima's shoulder and he looked up to see Toshinori. "Young Kirishima. Thank you for the concern and empathy toward your friend. Young Bakugo will recover but he has needs that are for the staff to be burdened with, not you. I would advise you to be his friend, just as always until he can return the favor. He's still in there."
Denki Kaminari had been hanging around. "Yeah. I wanted to know, too. I guess we'll just keep reaching out. Thanks, All Might."
With that, everyone walked to the lunch hall for a lesson before lunch... all but Bakugo.
"Show me." Aizawa said. "How bad is it?"
Katsuki was laying down on his sleeping bag, on his side, facing the wooden plank wall. "No. It's fine."
Shota sighed. "Do you need to return to campus?"
"No!" Bakugo exclaimed before changing his tone. "I just don't want to."
"You have to take care of yourself." Aizawa ordered. "If you were my son, you'd be kept in an institution with therapies three times a day until I saw improvement and then maybe you'd actually behave and TALK about what's bothering you instead of making me GUESS every damn day. You're back on for therapy with Midnight Sensei on Tuesday."
Katsuki wiggled slightly. He couldn't help that he felt like he had fire ants between his legs! Or, well, he could but he wasn't going to.
"Ok. So here's what's going to happen." Shota demanded. "You're going to come with me to the staff trailer and taking your medication. That includes addressing your rash with the topical cream. Then I will walk you to lunch if you tell me what's going on. If you choose not to talk, you get to sit with me during tonight's evening and write an apology letter on why you're not taking care of yourself."
Bakugo frowned before following his teacher to the staff trailer and applying anti-itch cream and medicated ointment to the rash. He handed the medicine back to his teacher and said nothing but responded with a heartless "yeah." to the question on if he was more comfortable now.
At lunch, Katsuki chose to sit with his BakuSquad: Jiro, Kirishima, Kamanari, Ashido, and Sero.
"Duuuuuude!" Eijirio laughed. "You look like hell. Where've'ya been?"
Bakugo thought of a lie. He paused for a while before shrugging. "Just out. I'm glad I'm back. I can watch the idiot show now." He jeered, feeling closer to his true self.
They ate for a while and then helped clean up and got the instructions for the evening's Quirk Training Activity. By the time they showered and were ready for bed, Katsuki was anxious. It was now Sunday. They'd return to school tomorrow evening and Lord Explosion Murder wasn't sure if he'd even get to go back to his own room or if he'd be in the infirmary with Shoto.
"ALRIGHT, LITTLE LISTENERS!" Yamada cheered. "Class 1-A! Head down to the BEACH! Class 1-B! Defend your FORTRESS by the WATERFALL! We're playing FOUR CORNERS, YA DIG?!"
Students cheered and the classes made their ways to their target zones. Quirk Training was about to begin...
