I have received requests from a few different members to address the issue of Molly believing Rita Skeeter's article in Witch Weekly in Goblet of Fire and sending Hermione the tiny egg. I do that here and consider this to have been a group request. I'll preface this by saying I am not and will never be a Molly fan for various reasons.

Arthur Weasley was concerned.

His son Percy had written a response to a letter Ron had written him, but that wasn't what was bothering Arthur.

Arthur's wife Molly had just told Percy that she wanted to include some Easter Eggs for Harry, Ron, and Hermione along with the letter.

Percy had said okay, but Arthur had noticed that Harry's and Ron's eggs were the size of dragon eggs while Hermione's egg was a runt.

"Molly, dear?" asked Arthur calmly, "Why is Hermione's egg so tiny when-"

"She broke Harry's heart!" said Molly angrily, "She cheated on Harry by messing around with Viktor Krum!"

"I never knew Harry or Hermione to be dating at this time, let alone dating each other," said Arthur skeptically, "How do you know about this?"

In response, Molly went over to the kitchen table and picked up the most recent copy of Witch Weekly. She then proceeded to open the magazine to the article titled Harry Potter's Secret Heartache and showed the article to Arthur.

"Molly, we need to talk, " said Arthur seriously.

"What about?" replied Molly defensively.

"First, " said Arthur in a crystal voice, "You are neither Harry's nor Hermione's parent or guardian. It is not up to you who they date no matter what you think of it. More importantly, do you know even wrote this article."

"Rita Skeeter," said Molly simply.

"Exactly, " said Arthur, "Molly, you know perfectly well that Rita Skeeter goes out of her way to spread lies and stir up trouble."

"True, but, " began Molly.

"Molly, " said Arthur clearly, "There's a clear cut way of finding out if this is true or not. You can go talk to Harry and he can confirm or deny this."

""Okay, " said Molly wearily, still holding the Witch Weekly magazine.

Molly used the Floo Network to go to Hogwarts. As she didn't know the password to enter Gryffindor Tower at this nanosecond, she cornered Harry as he came out of the Great Hall after dinner and asked him if she could speak with him one on one.

"We can go talk on the Sloping Lawns, " Harry told her.

Harry and Molly walked out to the Sloping Lawn and Molly showed Harry the Harry Potter's Secret Heartache article.

"So?" asked Molly seriously, "Is this true?"

"No,' answered Harry a nanosecond later, "It is not."

Molly's face took on the appearance of someone who had just suddenly seen a ghost. It was obvious that she had believed the article to be true.

"Hermione is my BFF, " said Harry matter of factly, "But she's not my girlfriend and she never has been. In fact, I do not have a girlfriend and s of now I never have had. Hermione IS my Bestie but there are no feelings of "those" kind involved."

"Okay, " sighed Mrs. Weasley, "Is Hermione currently dating Viktor Krum?"

"Not by my judgement," said Harry matter of factly, "They went to the Yule Ball together, but I don't have any sense of them being a couple. If anything, Viktor has far more feelings for Hermione than the other way around. I don't really know if Hermione actually fancies Viktor, or anyone at this point. That said, she can't have cheated on me because we are not and have never been a couple. I should also note that Hermione and I are not the only platonic boy-girl Besties at Hogwarts. Another good example of this is Ernie Macmillan and Hannah Abbott in Hufflepuff."

Molly sighed. She had clearly been wrong in her assumptions.

"Mrs. Weasley, '" said Harry matter of factly, "You are incredibly gullible if you believe Rita Skeeter's writing. You know who she is and what she does, right?"

"Arthur reminded me before I came here, " admitted Molly, "He suggested I talk to you to find out the truth. "

"And know you know, " said Harry clearly.

Molly took the Floo Network home and told Arthur what Harry had said.

"See?' said Arthur, feeling a bit vindicated, "It was all Skeeter spreading lies and making trouble."

"What now?" said Molly uncertainly.

"One, like I told you before you left and Harry reaffirmed, Skeeter is lying twist bitch, don't ever trust her writing, " said Arthur matter of factly, "And secondly, and this is an issue for you in general, you've got to get it through your oversized head that you are not always right and especially that you are not everyone's parent and guardian. In this case, you were wrong because you trusted the least reliable writer in our world. And in this case of Harry and Hermione, you are neither a parent nor a guardian to either of them. It's not up to you to decide who Harry and/or Hermione date or even whether they date at all. It's not your place to get involved in that."

Molly took a step back looking surprised. She had rarely been told off like this by anyone.

"Molly, " you need to replace Hermione's egg with one of size equal to Harry's and Ron's, it's only fair, " finished Arthur.

Molly nodded and realized she would have to do just that.

Arthur smiled, glad to know of the truth.
