This one is a a combination of a missing moment and something that should have happened in canon, as it depicts Harry actually doing something for/acknowledging Hermione's birthday.
On Sunday, September 19th, 1993, Hermione woke just before six, being the first girl in her dorm to wake up on this morning.
She knew it was her actual birthday, but she didn't care too much. She'd already had her present and birthdays had never been that big of a deal to her anyway.
She decided to go down to the common room, knowing she wouldn't fall back asleep.
To her surprise, someone else was already in the Gryffindor Common Room and that someone had been waiting for her.
"Happy birthday, Hermione!" exclaimed her BFF, Harry Potter, as he rose from an armchair by the fire holding a chocolate cake with orange frosting and the words Happy Birthday Hermione atop that frosting in mint green frosting as well as a wrapped present. This present was wrapped in scarlet wrapping paper with pictures of golden lions on it and was adorned with a golden bow. There was a simple white to and from tag below the bow. The tag had black lettering reading: To: My BFF Hermione. From: Harry. The package was large and square. The cake was on top of the present and there was a paper plate and plastic fork and knife atop the cake.
Harry handed Hermione the present and the cake.
Hermione set down the cake and eagerly ripped the wrapping paper off the present to discover a beautifully hand-crafted globe.
This globe was a deep and vivid blue on the parts that represented water. The continents were perfectly shaped with all country borders at the exact right location. A mix of vibrant colors made up the countries on each continent. A splendid mixture of red, green, yellow, blue, orange, purple, and hot pink hues represented each country with its name marked in inky black atop those wonderous tents of color.
"WOW, Harry," beamed a delighted Hermione, "Where did you find this?"
"In Diagon Alley," answered Harry matter of factly, "I saw it in Diagon Alley when I was staying at the Leaky Cauldron over the summer. I picked it up because I thought it would make a good birthday present for you. "
"You were right!" declared Hermione glowingly, "It's something nice to have in and of itself and it can help me with my geography at the same time."
"My thoughts exactly, " grinned Harry.
"I see," said Hermione more doubtfully, "That you got me a cake. I know that's a traditional thing to do for a person's birthday and all, but I have to admit that mom and dad won't be happy if I eat this. They're not only dentists, but very health conscience people."
"Oh, Hermione," said Harry proddingly, "Eating a cake on your birthday isn't going to kill you. Even if you are attempting to lead a healthier lifestyle than a lot of us, treating yourself on your birthday isn't going to kill you. Truth is, you're already doing more damage to yourself with your overly full schedule than you could possibly do by eating ONE cake."
Hermione scowled at the slight on her schedule but looked at the cake hopefully.
"Go for it, Hermione," said Harry encouragingly, "Your birthday only comes once a year you know."
In spite of herself, Hermione set down the globe and picked up the cake.
Sitting down in one of the armchairs by the fire, Hermione cut herself a piece of cake and took her first bite.
This was delicious.
It was pure bliss with the tasty mix of chocolate, orange, and mint playing well together.
After a few bites, Hermione smiled at Harry and said, "Thanks, Harry," contently.
Hermione was now enjoying it being her birthday on her birthday, thanks to her BFF.
