This is just a little Christmas themed one shot about a gift one Hogwarts student makes for his BFF using one of his strengths. Sometimes it's cool to write lesser used characters.

Seamus Finnigan and Dean Thomas had just completed their first ever semester as Hogwarts and were riding in the very back compartment of the Hogwarts Express, which was taking them home for Christmas.

After lunch, Dean turned to Seamus and said, "I have something for you, an early Christmas present if you will."

Next nanosecond, Dean stood up and went to luggage rack.

Digging into his trunk, Dean pulled out several drawings he had made himself, all of which were Christmas themed.

Handing the pictures to Seamus, Dean said, "I've been making these for you the last week. You know that time I was spending alone in the library before breakfast each morning this past week? I was spending that time drawing these pictures for you."

"WOW, DEAN!" piped up Seamus as he looked through the drawings, "I know you're good at drawing, but these pictures reach another level of quality."

"I put in extra effort into these drawings because I was making them for you," said Dean warmly.

Seamus's face glowed.

"Thank you, Dean, " said Seamus approbatively.

Looking through the pictures, Seamus came across a perfect drawing of a wreath and declared, "This one's my favorite. I love Christmas Wreaths. "

"I knew you'd love that one," said Dean radiantly, delighted to see how much his BFF loved the pictures he'd drawn for him, "But which drawing do you honestly think is the best of the lot."

Seamus leafed through the drawings a few times before settling on, "The one of Santa and his reindeer pulling his sleigh is just about perfect. In fact, you did a really fantastic job of drawing Santa in all of the drawings that include him. The vibrant shade of red on his coat and the whiteness of his beard are brillant!"

"Santa is a hard character to draw accurately, " said Dean matter of factly, "But every stroke of marker felt like a gift to my BFF! "

"Were there any of the drawings that you particularly enjoyed drawing?" Seamus asked Dean curiously.

"The snowmen," answered Dean instantly, "The snowman is a really enjoyable figure for the artist, be he or she a drawer, a sculptor, a painter, or whatever, to work with. Snowmen are naturally fun and allow for creatively."

Flipping through drawings once more, Seamus enjoyed seeing artwork of candy canes, presents, a snow covered ground, and strings of Christmas lights.

"Apart from the Christmas Wreath, another favorite of mine is the Christmas Tree drawing," declared Seamus, "It's splendid how you used such variety in this drawing, with one plain Christmas tree, the second, Christmas Tree with silver and gold tinsel, the third with Christmas balls of red and green, the fourth with an assortment of ornaments, and the fifth with strings of multicolored lights. "

"That's a nice thing about Christmas, the variety it offers, " said Dean happily.

"Thank you for time and effort, not to mention thought, that you put into making these drawings, " Seamus told Dean gratefully as the Hogwarts Express pulled into King's Cross Station, "I can't wait to show them to mom and dad and then hang them on the walls of my room for the Christmas holidays."

"It was my pleasure, Seamus," said Dean sincerely.
