This chapter uses the suggestion posted by a guest reviewer in chapter 55 that Lavender apologizes to Harry for doubting him about Voldemort's return.

It was the morning of the first Hogsmeade visit of the fall 1995 semester and Harry Potter was sitting in an armchair by the fire in the Gryffindor Common Room.

Harry was to meet up with a group of students in Hogsmeade about starting a Defense Against the Dark Arts club since they were learning zero actual Defense Against the Dark Arts from Umbridge and Harry wanted to gather his thoughts before everyone else got up.

Fortunately, Harry had gotten up early enough to have plenty of time to think by himself, especially since it was a Saturday.

As it transpired, the next two Gryffindors to get up were Parvati Patil and Lavender Brown and to Harry's surprise, Parvati and Lavender approached him.

"Excuse us," chorused Parvati and Lavender.

"Hi," said Harry politely.

"May I please have a word with you?" requested Lavender.

"Sure," replied Harry simply.

Next nanosecond, Lavender looked Harry in the eyes and said seriously, "Harry, I was one of those people who believed that you had been lying about Lord Voldemort's return and I was in the wrong to do so. I allowed that retard Cornelius Fudge and his smear campaign against you via the Daily Prophet to influence my assessment of the situation and I was in the wrong to have taken Fudge's and the Daily Prophet's smear campaign against you seriously. I would like to take this moment to apologize to you for calling you a liar for not believing you about Lord Voldemort's return. I would also like to take this opportunity to apologize to you for allowing my judgement of you to be tainted by the lies of Fudge and the Prophet."

"Lavender," said Harry sincerely, still looking Lavender eye to eye, "I can tell your contrition is sincere and I accept your apology. We can put this behind us now. I will admit that I did notice that you and Parvati suddenly stopped talking when I entered the Great Hall for the Welcoming Feast."

"That's on me," said Lavender, "Parvati was trying to convince me that you were telling the truth about Lord Voldemort's return, and I was the one being an idiot and that's on me."

"To be clear," said Harry, "You do believe me now?"

"Yes," said Lavender.

Harry and Lavender then exchanged a handshake.

"So, Harry," continued Lavender, "I plan on meeting you in Hogsmeade today. I was one of the people Hermione recruited to be part of the Defense Against Arts Club."

"Are you coming too, Parvati?" asked Harry.

"Oh yes," confirmed Parvati, "Do you remember what I asked the toad during our first lesson."

"You expressed concern about our Defense Against Arts O.W.L. having a practical part and you were incredulous when toad suggested theory would be enough to show you could perform the spells without ever practicing them!"

"Exactly, " said Parvati clearly, "That's why Lavender and I accepted Hermione's invites to hear about this club as soon as she returned us."

"Parvati?" asked Harry cautiously, "May I ask you a question about a potentially sensitive topic?"

"I don't promise that I'll answer it but you won't offend me by asking," answered Parvati.

"Being an identical twin sister, how painful was it for you when you and Padma were sorted into different houses?" Harry in a slow and quiet voice.

"It was the best thing that could have happened for both of us," declared Parvati instantly, "Having a close twin sister is A Very Good Thing, but, Padma and I had become a bit TOO tied at the hips by the time our Hogwarts careers started. We had pretty much become each other's whole worlds. It was very healthy for both of us to branch out and develop our own lives apart from each other. When we go home for summer vacation, we can still rekindle that old sisterly bond but it's absolutely been good for both of us to lead different and separate lives at Hogwarts."

"That actually makes a lot of sense," smiled Harry.

Parvati and Lavender turned to leave and Harry said, "Before you two go, let just say this: Lavender, I would to thank you for take the time to come and apologize to me and admit the ways in which you were in the wrong. I respect people who are willing to hold themselves accountable. Good luck to both of you."

"Thank you, bye Harry. See you in Hogsmeade," returned Parvati and Lavender in unison.
