Two days after they broke in to Patrick Wilson's house Logan and Ellie finally got a chance to go in the Main Land to search for the old school they found in Wilson's photos. They decided to do it after work and when all videos were done they hopped into Logan's car.

-We should go by train. - said Ellie.

-You still thinking about it? Of course we should go by train! - there were two ways from and into the zone. One was over a bridge if you have a car. It was only one bridge there because the second one was never finished by the city. Also to go over a bridge you have to have a permit such as work related or health wise and still you have to pay to cross the bridge. This way people of the Main Land were protected from immigrants and some poor bustards with no jobs. And a second way - the subway. This way was cheaper but the train was running only once in hour and stopped running after nine in the evening.

-We will have to stay a night in the Main Land.

-Yeh, but we are ok we have our permits and if cops stop us we probably will seat in jail until morning and then go home.

-Let's avoid cops as much as possible.

-We will because we are on foot but if we go by the car it can cause us bigger problems.

-You are right.

They parked car at Logan's house and walked to the train station. It was empty inside as usual only machines for tickets were blinking neon green lights. Huge turning gates protected a train platform from people who want to jump on a train without a ticket.

There was supposed to be a one guard but he was sitting in his car next to the entrance to the train station. One homeless guy was asleep on a bench next to an empty newspaper stand. In a far corner of the station where electric light couldn't reach rats fuss was heard loud and clear.

-Did we miss the train? - said Ellie.

-We shouldn't because it has to be here before the departure time.

Usually a train was waiting ten minutes before departure because it was the last stop but this time train tracks was empty. Two people bought tickets anyway and went outside on the platform.

-I don't see a train. - said Logan looking far into the tunnel where usually trains were parked.

-I hope it's not canceled the departure board doesn't work. - Ellie looked up to see a dark screen of a departure board.

-Let's wait. - said Logan and started to walk.

They walked to the end of a platform to find out that there were three more people waiting.

-The train didn't come at four. - said one man in a custodian uniform. - I have work in the Main Land at five but now I'm going to be late! - he was nervously talking to another man.

-Did you hear that? - asked Ellie when they passed two people but Logan was in his thoughts and didn't reply. - Logan!

-Oh? What?

-Did you here, I asked?

-Hear what? - he wasn't paying attention to people.

-The guy said the four pm train didn't come.

-Oh. I hope this one will. - he answered unemotionally.

-It's already four thirty.

-Sometimes they late.

-Oh, well. Let's stop here. - she said.

They stood for approximately ten minutes and train didn't show up. One guy left the platform but two others remained sitting on benches.

It was suspiciously quiet.

Suddenly, they heard very far away but still loud and harsh noise.

-Wow. What was that? - Ellie asked

-I don't know but it's somewhere in the Main Land… like an explosion?! - answered Logan.

Two seating men stood up and came closer to an edge of a platform.

-What was it guys? - asked one man trying to see something in the direction of the Main Land.

-Who knows… - answered Logan then they heard one more very loud blast and felt light shaking of the platform.

-God gracious! Explosions! - said somebody out loud.

-Logan! I don't understand!? - Ellie's eyes were huge.

-I don't ether. Oh, look! A guard!

A small but round figure of a platform guard emerged at the other end of the platform. The figure was waiving its hands in a sign to follow.

All four people walked as fast as they could to the guard.

-You got to go! - guard's round but flat face was serious. - All trains got canceled! You got to go! - he opened an emergency exit for people.

-What happened, sir? - asked Logan

-Guys all I know that trains were canceled so I have to lock the station. Come on! Wake up you lazy ass! - walking next to still sleeping homeless dude the guard screamed pretty loud.

-We heard like explosions. - said one man.

-Folks I don't know anything. All I know that the last train today left at one pm but just now I got an announcement to shutdown the station because trains got canceled for today. So please, hurry up, go home watch some tv. - he let everyone exit the station and locked it.

-How about the bridge, sir? Do you know anything about the bridge? - asked Logan.

The guard who already was on his way to a car looked at Logan with a face full of disbelief.

-I'm sure we are on a lockdown, sir. - was his answer over the shoulder.

Logan and Ellie were walking back to Logan's house discussing what just happened when a man's phone rang.

-It's Jimmy! - Logan put him on a speakerphone. -What's up Jim?

-Where are you Logan!? Did you see it?

-See what?

-It's all over the news, radio and internet!

-What is it!? - asked Ellie.

-Oh, hi Ellie. So if you still under the rock there were three explosions in the Main Land and all three targeted bridges going to the state. All bridges collapsed and the Main Land cut off from the state land.

-What!

-What!

Screamed together Logan and Ellie. It was unbelievable it wasn't real.

-Terrorist attack? - asked Logan

-They don't know yet but it feels like it yes because they didn't just collapsed there were clear explosions. There were hundreds of cars on those bridges! Fuck! You got to turn on the news!

-We are not at home but we know for sure nobody can get out from the Zone by train or the bridge.

-What? - Jim was stunned. - How you know?

-We needed to go to the Main Land and all trains got canceled and I'm sure the bridge closed down as well. Maybe we should check it? - this question was mostly for Ellie, she nodded. - We are going to check the bridge and see you back at my house. We've got to make some news.

They jumped in Logan's car and went to the bridge just to be turned away by a barrier and a locked gate with a note "closed".

-We cut off from the Main Land and the Main Land cut off from the rest of the country. - mumbled Ellie.

-How about the underground tunnel from the Main Land to the state… - said Logan looking through the news on his phone.

-Remember, two days ago they closed it because of the air system stopped working and the tunnel clogged with the toxic air. City workers were supposed to fix the air system in the next two weeks so I think it still closed. I hope it didn't blow out! -Ellie was searching news as well.

They had to head back to Logan's house and make some news for the Zone because not all of the immigrants could understand English language and relied on local news channel.
