They went down to the sewers and walked the the same way Batman did. Half of the way to that place where he found chemical trace. This time they didn't find any new evidence and end up standing on the edge of a wide waste stream.
-That time I went right thinking that if a stream getting wider so I will find more chemical tracks but I walk all the way to Arkham Asylum with little no results.
-What is on the left? - White Shadow asked, the cloak she wore got dirty on the bottom.
-The stream getting narrower and ends up in the ocean. But if we believe that there is a pocket between two subway tunnels it supposed to be in front of us behind this wall. - both figures looked around but it was just a wall no doors, no windows, just a wall on the other side of a stream.
-But you can tell that this part of the wall was built after.
-Yes. It's because the sewers were built before the subway and when city put subway tunnels this part got reconstructed. - Batman pulled his interactive map before his eyes and showed their location to White Shadow. - So this is the pocket between tunnels but there is no doors to the subway tunnel and from a subway tunnel to the pocket. See? - the map got wider and the section was looking pretty clear. No doors not only on this section but through out the full length of the stream.
It was long silence between two people.
-Can you show us the map before the subway tunnels? - asked White Shadow.
Batman just slightly nodded and set up a different parameters for the map and it changed.
-This is the map of 1890 the last year before city put a first subway tunnel. This is our section where we are now. - and again map reacted on his speech and selected a certain patch of sewers.
White Shadow was staring on it and then pointed on one particular part.
-See. There was a sort of intersection where we are standing now. Sewerage intersection. But now we have only three ways. One we came from, one goes left and one more goes right and I guess they blocked one more way which would be in front of us.
-Right. But… - Batman was looking at the map and then at the current of a stream. - But they actually never blocked it they just pushed it down under the train tunnels! - suddenly he moved so quickly that White Shadow couldn't understand what was happening. In one moment Batman held a small device in his hand and then let it go into the stream.
-What is it? - White Shadow asked.
-It's a bug. It will scan the bottom of the stream and look for a branch.
-Do you think they found a way to deep chemicals and push them under water into the branch?
-Yes. And then they can pick it up when it will float on the other side of a tunnel.
-Inside the pocket! - White Shadow whispered.
-Show me what is located above the asking area. - Batman talked to his computer on his way back from sewers.
-We won't wait for a bug result? - White Shadow asked following a big black figure.
-No, because I already got it. There is a branch and a undercurrent goes inside of it.
-We just have to find out what is above the pocket and is there an entrance from the ground! - White Shadow was trying to run after Batman who's speed was unbelievable.
-Right. And now I know exactly what is above the pocket. We have to hurry. Do you think he can blowup the subway?
-I don't think so and the only reason why I don't think so is because blowing up the subway seems very easy for Evan.
"City is in grave danger" - Batman was thinking running through dark corridors of sewers.
