Chapter 3 Playing in the pool.
The screen changes and shows a different room.
A 16 year old Carrie is seen, the girl is wearing a bathing suit that is for the most part covered by her towel. .
The people in the cafetaria recognised the room, it was the schools private pool.
The room was used for playing water sports and games.
Wondering what they would see next, the population of Main continued to watch the movie.
The screen gets closer to Carrie, until you only see her face.
'She has the same eyes she had as child' thought everyone when they looked at the screen.
'But they dont look so full of life anymore'. Thought some sadly.
The screen moves and now shows other girls coming out of the door.
First Sue Snell followed by Chris Hargenson, Tina Blake, Heather Shrys and the twins Nickky and Lizzy.
Some boys did whistle at the pretty girls in their bathing suits.
While Heather and Sue did not pay attention to it, the others, Chris, Tina and the twins looked at the boys and smiled enjoying the attention.
Sue was hold by Tommy while Chris father and Billy turned to glare at the boys.
Billy: 'Hey Dicks! That is mine girlfriend'. While he put his arm around Chris.
Chris smiled at him and gave him a kiss on the lips.
They are smiling and talking with each other walking.
Tommy Ross walks to Sue and starts to kiss her while the other Ultra's walk to the pool.
Thanks to this scene some boys and this time also some girls started again to whistle.
Most students looked happy for the couple but some could not help but feel a little jealous that both Sue and Tommy were off the market.
Before some teachers could react multiple students told their fellow students to keep quite.
Sue did blush when she saw her and Tommy being so intimate. Normally she and Tommy did not kiss right in front of everybody.
And now everyone was seeing her and Tommy, including her parents! Her mother looked happy for her while her father looked like he would love to be anywhere else.
She knew it was not because he disliked Tommy, quite the opposite in fact. Her father really liked him.
Her father just found it hard that ' his little princess' had now a boyfriend.
She thought while Tommy putted her even more close to him to distract her from the whistles..
Miss Desjardin: 'Get in the pool ladies, and Tommy Ross go to your class'.
Tommy stops kissing Sue and pulls back.
Sue walks to the Ulltra's and together they walk to the pool.
Tommy wants to walk away, but then sees cCrrie standing and smiles to her.
Carrie looks surprised but smiles back while the other girls are running to the pool.
When Heather saw this she was surprised. Carrie didn't smile back easy (if someone even smiled to her).
Miss Desjardin: "Lets go ladies get in the water!'
'Chris and Sue lets go!' And uses her flute.
Carrie also walks to the pool and gets in the water.
The screen shows the legs of the girls followed by a shot of their upperbody.
Some of the male populations and some females stare at the screen.
But this time they were smart enough to not say anything.
Sue and Chris stand by the net excited to begin the game, while Carrie stands the farthest away from the net.
The game begins and Sue and Chris team is doing fine.
After Chris scores a point, Chris and Sue share an high five.
Chris looked after this scene at Sue.
Sue was one of the few girls her age she could actually say she liked.
Sure they had their fights and disagreements but at the end of the day they always made up.
She and Sue had been friends for so long and she knew that no matter what would happend that their friendship would always last.
She turned to look at Sue and saw that she was looking at Carrie White with pity.
While Chris had some sympathie for Carrie after seeing her crazy bitch of a mother trying to kill her, she did not think that Carrie deserved the amount of pity most people were showing.
Fuck it that her mother tried to kill her, it didn't change how she was.
Thinking about all the times Carrie was either an idiot or a pain in the ass made her angry,
making her sorry for Carrie go away for the moment. .
'Keep it in the air, keep it high!' Screems Miss Desjardin.
Chris and Sue pass the bal and score.
Miss Desjardin: 'Hit it girls, hit it!'
Sue and Chris sway with each other in the water.
Sue:' Dont be afraid of the ball ladies'.
A girl from the other team slams the ball over the net and it stops just befor Carrie.
Carrie looks surprised and a bit lost on what to do next, her shyness preventing her from acting. The rest of the girls look at her waiting for her to pass the ball
They adults were surprised at this.
They had never thought Carrie was this shy!
Sure they had heard it some rumors, but everyone also said that she was like her mom.
Maybe they would see that side of her later?
'Alright Carrie White'. 'Get Carrie in the game'. Says Miss Desjardin.
Miss Desjardin looked at the scene before her with mixed feelings.
She did not know exactly when this was about to happen, but the familiar scene of herself encouraging Carrie to participate in her lessons (and was it not strange seeing herself doing things she had not done yet) made her exchaused.
Miss Desjardin looks to Carrie and says: 'You can't stand at the line all the time'.
Miss Desjardin agreed with her future self. It would do the girl some good.
'Alright Carrie serves'.
Principal Morton turned to look at Miss Desjardin.
While it was her first year teaching he and his staff were very happy with Miss Desjardin. She was hard but fair and the students liked her too.
If everything continued the way things were at the moment he would gladly offer her a contract.
Chris looks at Carrie with a cruel smile.
Some people, mostly the adults felt themselves getting little angry.
Did Miss Hargenson not see that Carrie was already nervous enough?
Or did she simply not care?
Carrie walks forward with the ball in her hands.
'Alright Carrie, do it, come on do it'. Says Chris.
While the other girls still stare at Carrie.
Carrie throws the ball up and slaps it.
The ball hits Sue Snells head.
'Oww' screamed some people while they began to laugh a bit and pointed there fingers to Sue and Carrie.
While other people understood that Chris had made Carrie so nervous she had hit the ball wrong.
Chris and the other girls looks surprised and they all smile a little.
Carrie looks scared.
'Why do you look so scared? They are not going to eat you up'. Yells Henry, one of Billy Nolans friends.
Some snickering could be heard.
Carrie didn't answer. She was scared how the other students would react to her hurting someone as popular as Sue Snell.
It was also a reflex she had learnt from living with her mother.
The other girls still smile and Chris walks to Sue.
'Hahah! Thats so funny Chris' says Sue.
When she had heard Henry yelling at Carrie, Sue had wanted to say something to defend the girl.
But in the end she had not dared to open her mouth, knowing that her social life might suffer from it.
So seeing her future self trying to distract Chris and the other girls made Sue feel better about it.
Chris' Carrie... (laughs).
Everyone starts to laugh and Carrie seems not so scared anymore and even smiles a little happy that for once the other girls are laughing with her instead of at her.
Carrie looks at the screen with slight hope. Could it be that the other girls would accept her or at least leave her alone?
Chris: 'You eat shit'! And throws the ball to Carrie.
' Why do I still hope things will change' Thought Carrie.
'Chris'! warned John Hargenson his only daughter.
He was surprised at his daughters bad behavior. He knew his daughter could sometimes be a hand full and that she and her classmates were teenage girls, but the other girl had done nothing in the scene to bring on his daughters behavior.
'Miss Hargenson! We do not tolerate insulting a student'. Said Miss Drew the junior and seniors Math teacher.
Chris wanted to argue with them but knew that at the moment a lot of people felt some pity for Carrie and decided to wait for her time.
The movie would soon enough show everyone how the freak really was and then they could all return to normal.
At the same time the staff of Ewen High smiled but tried to hide it. Maybe this movie would finally make John Hargenson punish his daughter more.
The other girls look at her again and begin to make fun of her.
The girls who were laughing on the screen did not dare do it in real life.
Carrie's smile starts to faint.
The screen shows then Heather, Tina, Chris and every other girl who all laugh at Carrie.
The girls in question were stared at by others and while some looked sorry others looked at the ground angry at being judged for laughing at Carrie White.
Carrie's smile is completly gone and she looks to the ground.
