Chapter 2: Star vs the Forces of Anthropophagy.
(Evil-Note.- Hey guys, Evil here once more, bringing more of the "Miraculous Zombies" universe, this time from Star and Marco's side, I hope you enjoy yet another piece of my twisted mind)
Everything was going downhill really fast, since in Paris, Rena Rouge and Carapace were turning their fellow Defenders Spider-Man and Ladybug into anthropophagus monsters, and meanwhile in the kingdom of Mewni, Marco Díaz and Jackie Lynn Thomas were stepping out of a portal made with Marco's dimensional scissors, both feeling exhausted.
After the little incident at King County, and finding out that Trini and Pinkie Pie had brought a surprise for them and their world, Iron Fist and Stream went back to their HQ, hoping to get medical help.
However, they had just realized they might've comitted a serious mistake, as they started to feel a strong urge.
An urge to feed.
And after what they had witnessed Pinkie and Trini did to most of the cops in King County, they knew exactly what kind of twisted food they would be looking for.
Once Iron Fist and Stream fell to the ground, the clattering of Marco's scissors attracted the attention of a nearby guard, who ran up to them to check on them, as they were friends of the princess of Mewni.
"Oh, dear..." The guard said as she tried to help Marco get up.
"No!" Iron Fist snapped.
"Don't get close...! It's for your... sake!" Jackie grunted as she gripped her stomach.
"But... you need help..." The guard said.
As the guard moved closer to Jackie and Marco, an instinct awakened inside them, which made the human duo snap and think on only one thing.
Satisfy their growing hunger.
"We need help... don't we...?" Jackie hissed.
"Yes... indeed..." Marco smirked.
"I think... I should get the healers..." The guard stammered as she started to back away.
"Why? You're exactly what we need..."
"W-what...?"
"You're food..."
The guard froze almost immediately as she heard the teens, then she tried to make a run to get help but she was easily stopped by a water tentacle that wrapped around her body and quickly silenced her mouth, stuffing it with the now lethal liquid that started to fill her lungs and suffocate her.
The guard struggled and tried to break free but she was soon drowned by Stream's water tentacle, then the Inhuman girl pulled the dead guard closer to her and licked her lips. Once the dead guard's face was right in front of hers, Jackie roared and bit off the guard's nose, chewing on her flesh as blood stained her own face and ran down her chin, creating a small pool on the floor.
"Hey, share some of that!" Marco snapped as his fist was covered with a golden energy.
Iron Fist roared and made a karate chop that cut off one of the arms of the dead guard, grabbing the limb and chomping off a chunk of flesh almost immediately.
Marco and Jackie devoured the corpse in a matter of seconds, however, the hustle of their carnivorous deed had attracted the attention of nearby guards, who rushed to the lobby and let out a collective gasp as they saw two of Princess Star's friends eating one of their own.
At that moment, several of the knights fled the scene, while Lady Whosits, Sir Dashing, and Sir Stabby charged against the infected heroes.
Jackie and Marco roared, dropping the pieces of the guard they were devouring to defend themselves, while Sir Stabby and Lady Whosits drew their swords to try to decapitate the infected humans with them.
However, to his misfortune, Marco dodged Sir Stabby's attack, blocking the knight's thrust with his own sword, then used a swift movement with his sword and cut off the knight's hands, disarming him with agility to finally strike him in the chest with his Iron Fist, piercing his heart and killing him instantly. Meanwhile, Jackie received a sword blow that split her body in half vertically, making Lady Whosits smile victoriously, but soon her smile was replaced by an expression of horror as she saw the blonde smile as her halves rejoined as if nothing had happened. After that, Lady Whosits released her sword and tried to crush Jackie with her fists, but the Inhuman was faster and transformed her arm into a giant ice stake, which she drove into the huge mewman's chest and then transformed it into a blade that split the dying knight in half, just as she had previously tried with the Terran.
As Marco and Jackie grabbed pieces of the dead knights to greedily devour them, the knights' squires, accompanied by a scrawny guard named Kyle, hurried to the Queen's office, where Star Butterfly was going through a couple of documents that she, Director Cinch, and Doctor Strange had prepared to make the collaboration between Mewni and Earth official. Once the knights arrived at the office, they kicked down the door, surprising Star.
"But what the hell is wrong with you guys?!" Snapped an annoyed Star. "The door wasn't even closed!"
"Queen Star, we have a serious problem!" Kyle said.
"Your friends Marco and Jackie have killed a guard and ate her!" Higgs said.
"But what are you talking about?" Star asked.
"We can't waste any more time, we must flee...!" Baby-Man tried to say.
At that moment, a scream was heard that echoed through all the halls, rooms and corridors of the castle, which caused Star to rise from her seat with wand in hand and run out of the office, while the knights tried to stop her, failing due to to the agility of the young girl.
Star slid over the railing of the stairs that led to the lobby and as soon as she reached it, she let out a scream of horror when she saw the carnage that had been unleashed there, and worse still, confirm that, as her guards had told her, her friends Jackie and Marco had murdered several of her guards and were devouring them.
In that instant, Star dropped her wand and it made a small echo as it fell to the ground, which was enough for the infected heroes to turn their gaze and see the stunned Queen of Mewni in front of them.
"What the hell...?" Star said breathlessly.
"Star... please... go..." Marco growled as he dropped a severed arm.
"We don't want to... hurt you... please, just go..." Jackie growled after swallowing a piece of flesh from her mouth.
"Guys... no... what...?" Said the young queen completely stunned.
"Star, we can't control ourselves, just go away and don't look back!" Marco ordered.
"Marco..."
A tear ran down Marco and Star's cheeks as soon as their eyes met, the former from the pain of seeing the expression of horror and shock in the Queen's gaze, and the latter from the pain of seeing that the warmth in Marco's eyes had disappeared and had been replaced by a blank, cold and emotionless stare.
However, before the others could do anything, the castle guards rushed at the infected heroes, roaring with their weapons raised, ready to defend their Queen as well as avenge their fallen comrades, but to their misfortune, a shower of ice stakes was hurled at them, seriously wounding or killing them.
Star and Marco gasped and turned to see Jackie with her arm raised and an expression that they could only describe as insanity at its finest.
"Jackie!" Said a horrified Star.
"We are monsters, Star!" Roared Jackie. "We just killed ten guards and devoured them! We didn't want to do the same to you, that's why we told you to go! But you insist on staying!"
"Jackie, stop..." Marco said.
"No, Marco... She asked for it... And I must admit that the prospect of killing the one who stole my boyfriend from me a long time ago is extremely tempting..."
"I thought we already settled that!" Star said, now upset.
"That can't be fixed!"
With that said, Jackie turned into her water form and pounced on the mewman, who dodged her and transformed into Butterfly form to shoot several magical rays at the girl, which although they hit her, Jackie simply smiled maliciously and regenerated the holes that Star's attack had made in her.
"You won't be able to beat me and you know it, Butterfly!" Jackie said before creating a swirl of water around her legs.
"We'll see about that, Thomas!" Star roared as she charged a large amount of magic with her six hands.
Jackie roared and lunged at Star again, turning her arms into axes with which she tried to cut the Queen in two, but she dodged them and fired several rays at her, hitting the target again but causing nothing more than holes in the body of the Inhuman.
Meanwhile, Marco could only watch in horror as Jackie and Star tried to kill each other, just before receiving a very hard blow to the head, which threw him to the side and scream in pain as he felt everything spinning around him.
After that, Star's father, River Butterfly-Johanssen, raised his maroon-shaped club while looking in regret at Marco, since he liked the boy a lot, but now he was a threat and had to be eliminated.
"Forgive me, Marco, please... but I can't let you keep hurting mewmans." River said.
"River..." Marco moaned.
"It's for your own sake and that of others..."
As River approached Marco with the intention of ending his life, Jackie heard Marco's scream and glanced at him, seeing how he was on the ground and was bleeding profusely from his head, so she growled in fury, fired a jet of water at Star and froze her with it, restricting the Queen's movements, leaving only her head free to then roar and lunge against River, creating four tentacles of water with which she stopped the former King of Mewni just before he could deliver the death blow to the infected hero.
River dropped his club due to the surprise of being restricted by several water tentacles, but before he could act, the tentacles pulled at his limbs with force and ripped them off, causing the man to scream in agony, to then be silenced by a jet of pressurized water that cut off his head.
Star was silent for a moment as was Marco, who was slowly recovering from the blow, then the silence was broken by the thud of Star's father's remains falling to the ground. And to add insult to injury, Jackie pierced the corpse's chest with an ice pick and ripped out its heart, then brought it to her mouth and devoured it with gusto.
That action was the end for Star, who began to give off an intense golden light, which created a powerful aura of energy that destroyed the ice prison in which Jackie had left her, then the wand lifted itself from the ground and flew to the hand of its owner, who immediately pointed it at Jackie, who was looking at her with an expression of intense fear.
Star's wand glowed brightly for several seconds, then began to vibrate and fired a powerful golden beam, exactly the same as the one that destroyed Toffee some time ago.
However, unlike on that occasion, the beam stopped inches away from reaching its target.
And all because Star suddenly felt that she was running out of air and that a warm liquid ran down her back and chest.
The Queen of Mewni coughed a little, noting that her mouth was filling with an intense coppery taste and that her vision was becoming somewhat blurry.
However, even so, she managed to hear a couple of sobs as a hand rested on her cheek with care and tenderness, raising her gaze so that her eyes met again with Marco's blank orbs, who was crying bitterly as his Iron Fist protruded from Star's back, holding her still beating heart.
"Forgive me... I... I begged you to leave... why did you always have to be so rebellious...?" Marco said between sobs.
Star looked at her chest and saw Marco's arm through it, then smiled and replied the Latino's gesture, weakly placing her hand on his cheek.
"My heart... was already yours... you didn't have to... rip it off..." Star panted with her last breath.
Star's hand fell and Marco couldn't help but cry at what he had just done as they both fell to the ground.
Star's corpse cushioned Iron Fist's fall, who lifted his arm from the mewman's chest and stared at her heart for a second before lifting it to his mouth and tearing off a chunk with his teeth, devouring it with gusto.
And as the disconsolate human began to devour the remains of the Rebel Queen, Stream turned to the other corpses, feeling a strong spasm of hunger again, then licked her lips knowing that she had a whole feast ready to sate her hunger.
On the other hand, outside the castle, Tom Lucitor managed to see what had happened through one of the windows, and although he wanted with all his might to enter that cursed hall and kill that pair of cannibal monsters, he knew that he couldn't beat either of them and less if they were together, so he limited himself to clenching his fists until they bleed and created a portal of fire to Earth, hoping to contact Spider-Man or any ally to be able to do damage control and stop the problem before it got worse.
The bad thing is that Tom did not even imagine that everything was already worse.
