Oh yeah, I've decided to bring this oldie back from the dead after such a long time of not having a Jurassic Park/World story... I mean, yeah, earlier this year I did make a Jurassic Park story featuring an OC becoming a T-Rex and being paired with Rexy but I don't think it worked out quite well as much as I had wished.
BUT, this story came back to mind and I found myself working on it once again. I know everyone loved it when it was up, but it had been posted when there was only two Jurassic World movies and... I still haven't watched the third movie but I hear it wasn't too-well received. I may come up with an alternate way of ending things, as I've been reading other Jurassic World fics to see about alternate endings from the first Jurassic World movie.
Anyway, about this story, it's about my OC Jason Grady coming to Isla Nublar for his summer vacation and staying with his uncle, who he finds out is the alpha of a Velociraptor pack. However, dark motives are set in stone as Jason is kidnapped and transformed into a dinosaur against his will, and not just any dinosaur... actually, I won't spoil what type of Raptor he's going to become. Anyway, so that happens and Jason is put with the other Raptors... and gets close with Blue.
Disclaimer: I do not own Jurassic World. I only own the OC Jason Grady.
"Jason! Hurry up or you'll be late!"
"I know, Mom!" Jason Grady, a young man of sixteen years, shouted back from inside his room while packing the last of his clothes into his suitcase. He had short, dark brown hair and grey eyes, and was currently dressed in simple blue trousers, a white top, black trainers and a dark green jacket. Once his stuff was packed, he began to look for his phone, frowning as it wasn't where he put it. "Where the hell did I...?"
He looked under his bed and sighed in relief when he saw it, grabbing it then pocketing it. Now that he was ready, he grabbed his suitcase and left his bedroom. He made his way down the stairs where he found his mother, Anna, waiting at the door.
"ABout time." She huffed jokingly. "Taxi's going to be here any second now. Do you have everything you need?"
"Clothes to last the entire summer, my phone, bathroom stuff, everything needed for a vacation... check." Jason listed off cheekily, causing her to playfully slap the back of his head.
See, it was the summer holidays, meaning no school. And because it was the summer, coupled with Jason's good behaviour and report cards from school, his mother had phoned her brother, Owen, and they arranged Jason going to where Owen was for the summer. When Jason heard the news, he was inatantly excited for two reasons. One; because he'd be seeing his uncle again.
Two; because the place he was going... was Jurassic World.
Owen didn't say much about his job when he phoned, only that he worked at Jurassic World as a handler/trainer for one of the dinosaurs there, often joking of Jason coming to the island to work with him but Anna would always put a halt to that. Jurassic World rose from the ashes of Jurassic Park, a theme park that was meant to open back in 1993 but an incident occurred that resulted in the dinosaurs getting out, resulting in the deaths of several people and the park was shut down by the creator John Hammond.
Then there was the San Diego Incident a few years later in which a T-Rex roamed the streets.
Never had Jason thought that someone would want to finish John Hammond's dream, yet Masrani Globe did just that when they created Jurassic World on the same island as where Jurassic Park happened.
Seeing a dinosaur was every boy's dream since at one point in their lives, all boys are enamoured with dinosaurs. And with the chance to see one in person? Who wouldn't want to take that opportunity?
And Jason was going there. To Jurassic World.
The sound of a car honking got the mother and son's attention and they looked out to see the taxi had arrived. "Okay, the taxi's here." Anna said, hugging her son tightly. "You behave for Owen and... try not to pet a dinosaur."
"Unless it's a Herbivore." Jason said with a smirk. "Maybe I'll try and get a selfie with the T-Rex."
"Do that and you'll be grounded for life, mister." Anna warned. Yes, she knew the place attracted people in and had no incidents thus far, but it was still an island filled with dinosaurs. And considering the last two incidents involving dinosaurs, one of which actually got to the mainland and killed several people, Anna was worried about something happening to her son.
"Mom." Jason hugged his mother tightly. "I'll be fine. Uncle Owen won't let anything bad happen to me, you know that."
"I know... or he'll see what me being very angry is like." Anna said, making Jason chuckle. "Do you have your ticket?"
"Yep." Jason nodded. He needed to get a plane to Costa Rica, where he'd then have to get a boat from there to Isla Nublar, the island that Jurassic World was located on. Owen had said he'll meet Jason at the ship docks in Costa Rica, since he managed to get time off to slip away from the island in order to meet with his nephew. It was mainly at Anna's request, since Jason was still a young sixteen year old, and anything could happen.
"You better phone me when you get there, to let me know you're alright." Anna said, getting a nod from Jason. "And just be careful.
"Ah, come on. Great big island with nothing but dinosaurs? What could possibly go wrong?" Jason asked jokingly before he hugged his mother one last time and exited the house, quickly jogging to the taxi. Once he put his suitcase in the trunk, he got in and waved to his mother just before the taxi drove off.
After a long drive, Jason finally made it to the Airport and made his way inside. After getting his ticket and a whole lot of waiting around, his plane finally arrives at the gate he's waiting at. After waiting in cue and getting his ticket scanned, Jason then made his way onto the aircraft where he quickly found his seat next to a window and quickly sat down. Jason sighed quietly, knowing he's going to be going through a five-hour flight.
Soon enough, five hours passed and Jason found himself arriving in Costa Rica, where he disembarked from the plane. Halfway through walking the airport, Jason reached some escalators leading down to a bunch of people holding up signs with different people's names on them. Once he reached the bottom. he saw in the crowed, someone holding up a sign saying my name 'Jason'. He made his way through the crowed, only to stumble upon his Uncle Owen who is holding the sign up.
''Hey, sport I haven't seen you for two years! You've certainly grown a lot!'' He exclaims, excited to finally see his nephew again. He walks up to Jason and gives him a hug while still holding the sign.
''It's good to see you to Uncle!'' Jason said, while still hugging him. They shortly break up the moment and start walking through the airport again, heading towards the exit. "Still can't believe I'm going to Jurassic World."
"Well, I did promise once that I'd get you over if your Mom allowed it." Owen said with a smirk. "Took a lot of convincing though. She's always been stubborn ever since we were little."
"Yeah, mainly because you'd annoy her to death." Jason said with a smirk. Owen chuckled and nodded in agreement. "So what do you do at Jurassic World? I mean, you said you work with dinosaurs, but you never stated which type."
Owen smirked at him. "You ready to hear it?"
"Yeah." Jason nodded.
"Velociraptors."
Jason's eyes widened. Velociraptors... possibly one of the most dangerous creatures to have ever walked the Earth. He only knew of facts about them from the Internet, and what people had heard from that Dr. Alan Grant guy, who had been one of the survivors of the Jurassic Park incident that also involved Velociraptors.
Velociraptors are pack hunters, basically they were the wolves of their time. They work in the same hierarchy as wolves, in which there's an Alpha, a Beta, and a few members. Same as an Omega, which is basically the pack outsider and the lowest rank in the order. There had been a lot of claims on the intelligence of Velociraptors, with that Alan Grant guy saying that they were smarter than dolphins... that they may even be smarter than primates.
Could that mean they were just as smart as humans?
"Okay, now I'm really looking forward to this." Jason said after being silent.
Owen chuckled. "Unfortunately, you won't be able to get too close as you're probably thinking. The Raptor enclosure is not in the main facility of the park like you'd see the T-Rex enclosure. It's mainly because I'm training the Raptors to respond to commands, but on no account does that mean they're tame or safe. Let people view them and snap pictures of them, they'll freak and snap."
"But how do you train Raptors?" Jason asked with a frown. "They don't seem like the type to be controlled."
Owen shook his head. "I don't control the Raptors. It's a relationship, based on mutual respect. You respect them, they'll probably respect you back. Don't worry, you'll get your chance to see them soon enough."
Jason nodded, following his uncle. All the while excitement built within him at getting to see real, live dinosaurs. He felt like a little boy about to live a childhood dream...
And I'll end it there. So, let me know what you think in the reviews, please.
