My Hero Academia: Lightning Strike
Prologue
Limbo
"Come again?" The formless soul asks.
"You died, you're gone, end of the line, bye-bye, mission failed". A humanoid silhouette says.
"Yeah, the part I get it, it is the second part I don't". The soul says.
"You. Will. Be. Reborn. On. My. Hero. Academia". The silhouette says. "Get it now?".
"That I also understand, what I don't understand is why me? and why My Hero Academia? I didn't even watch that show nor read the manga, I would be totally useless there, can't you send me to One Piece?" The soul says.
"No can do, that one is already full along with Naruto and Bleach, I can send you to Dragon Ball, but you will be human". The shape says.
"And be Yamcha 2.0?! No thanks, you still didn't tell why me thought". The soul says.
"Well, you see, your father and mother died believing you were a disappointment, and your younger brother was better than you at everything, I mean, at the age of 20 he was the manager of a big corporation, married to a good woman while you were a nerd that wasted your life in front of a computer while working in a low-grade job". The silhouette was smiling despite not having a mouth, the soul knew it.
"He was lucky". The soul defended itself.
"No, he wasn't, he got out of the house and went to every place that was offering a job and gave them his resume and then worked hard to reach the top when he found work, you, on the other hand, stayed in your room believing things would just fall on your lap. The reason I chose you to be reborn is because you will learn the meaning of responsibility and self-sacrifice and I'll teach you myself". The silhouette says in an angry tone, clearly imitating Sgt. Hartman.
"By making me reborn in a world with powers? No offense but what makes you think I won't pull off The Gamer and become the king of the world with a harem?". The soul challenges.
"I'm glad you asked. Because if you do your baseballs and bat will fall off your body". The silhouette says. "And unlike The Gamer, you won't have a system, if you want power you will have to bleed and sweat to gain it".
"That's not fair!" The soul screams.
"Yeah I know, isn't it funny?!" The shape says. "Any last wish?"
"Yes, I do actually". The soul was desperate. "Three wishes to be more precise".
"What makes you think I care?" The silhouette asks. "And what makes you think I'll fulfill them?"
"Your integral morality?" The soul begs.
"You know what?! Fine, I'll grant you three wishes, but don't try to pull out any trick, trust me, you won't be the first to try and won't be the first to succeed". The silhouette says.
"Okay, my first wish is to have all the powers of an awakened Goro Goro no Mi". The soul says.
"Done!". The shape responds. "But only the Goro Goro no Mi powers, no Haki, and no Rokushiki."
The soul frowns at that, it feels things are going too easy for it.
"My second wish is that I want to look exactly like Killua Zoldyck, his appearance from episode 107 to be more specific, with the 8 pack". The soul says.
"I will never understand this obsession you reincarnated people have with possessing white/silver/gray hair since it makes you look old, but okay, second wish granted". The silhouette says.
"For my third wish, I want my powers and person impossible to be stolen, meaning that my powers can be copied but never taken away from me, and I can't be cloned". The soul couldn't take any risk, Superman and Spider-Man were cloned many times over, and even One Piece had that, Boku no Hero might have this same problem.
"Done!". The silhouette says. "Now here are the rules."
"There are rules?" The soul whines.
"I can't teach you a lesson if there are no rules". The silhouette responds. "First, you can't use your powers for selfish reasons if it will prejudice others, second, no harems, polygamy is illegal in Japan, and from what I've observed from your browser history you are the kind of person who might use and discard women like stray dogs, so no relationships unless they are of genuine love".
"I'M NOT A MISOGYNISTIC HARASSOR YOU ASSHOLE!" The soul screams.
"Deal with it, I'm not here to help you fulfill your hormonal teenager fantasies at the cost of innocent women". The silhouette says. "Third rule, no killing, you are to be a hero, not some emo and depressed edge lord wearing black from head to toe. Beat the villain and let the cops do their job. There might be more rules in the future so be ready when you see me again, if you break any of these rules be warned, the punishment will make that of Solo Leveling seem tame in comparison".
The soul didn't like the last part, he'd read Solo Leveling, and the punishments were indeed horrible.
"Bye". The silhouette says.
"Wait I-"
5 years later
"99… 100. Well done little brother, now I want one hundred sit-ups". A female voice speaks.
The female voice belongs to a dark-skinned woman of average height. She has red narrow eyes with long, defined eyelashes, and straight white hair reaching her thighs with bangs that part to the left of her face. While slender and curvaceous in frame, she also sports a lean, athletic, and well-defined build, especially in her arms and legs. Because of her quirk, called rabbit, she has long white rabbit ears pointing upwards above her head, along with a small and white round tail, giving her an overall resemblance to an albino rabbit. This woman is Usagiyama Rumi a fifteen-year-old, U.A. student, teenager, and older sister of Usagiyama Ryu.
"YOU WITCH". Ryu yells as tears threaten to come out of his eyes as he goes for a hundred sit-ups after just finishing one hundred squats and one hundred push-ups.
Ryu, despite looking like a normal boy was far from it, he is the reincarnation of a soul from another universe, sent to this world to learn the meaning of responsibility and self-sacrifice, a lesson he is learning right now due to his selfishness. Ryu wished to look like Killua from Hunter x Hunter and have the same abbs the young assassin had, the Usagiyama household was the closest to such a wish fulfilled, white and silver hair is a common trait between them, they have no blood relationship with the main cast, and to have the same abbs as Killua Ryu needed to train like Killua, once again Usagiyama was the best option, Rumi's physic is the prime example. The reincarnated soul is doing nothing but reap what he sowed from his wish. That means doing tiresome exercises every day until he falls unconscious due to exhaustion.
"Ha?" Rumi's eyes twitch and her mouth stops smiling. "What did you call your sister?"
"Nothing". Ryu says, sweating because of the exercise and the fear. "I said 'as you wish' onee-san."
"Sama". Rumi says as a red aura surrounds her whole body while staring at her brother like an eagle observing its prey.
"Onee-sama". Ryu says.
"I know you can do it". Rumi says, her smile returning and her eyes shining with happiness. "After that a ten-kilometer run."
'WHY ME?' Ryu whines in his head.
Later that night
"Man, she is tough, all that running, and she didn't break a sweat."
Ryu is in the bathroom, taking off his clothes and ready to take a bath and clean himself from all the dirt and sweat from the training his sister had put him through. Before entering Ryu takes a look at the mirror and sees himself, due to still being a child he couldn't see any muscle developing but he can't stop himself from being surprised every time he sees his reflection, his wish to look like Killua was granted and the soul inside couldn't stop from smiling at it, on his former life he wasn't ugly, just average, so looking good now and knowing he'll be handsome in the future was good for his ego and self-esteem, he might never have a girlfriend but at least he won't be called ugly anymore.
'I don't have the abbs yet, but with the way Rumi is training me it won't take long'.
With this final thought, Ryu enters the bathroom, he was never a fan of cold water but after he started training with his sister they were a sight to sore eyes and, in his case, sore body.
"I still need to train my 'quirk', damn that stupid god". Ryu murmurs.
The god didn't lie, they gave Ryu the power of Enel's awakened Goro Goro no Mi, but just like the abs there was a trick, Ryu had Enel's power but not his experience, knowledge, and practice with the Goro Goro no Mi powers, which means he has to start from zero if he ever wants to unlock the full power he has inside him, and that could take years.
'Why can't things be easier, I… *sigh* I got what I asked for, this is exactly what I deserve'. Ryu closed his eyes and sighed, he shouldn't complain but it was so hard not to, no one likes to work hard and not make a difference in the end, one of the reasons he locked himself inside his room and became the failure he was.
"Ryu, Onee-sama will wash your back". Rumi says with a sweet voice, breaking Ryu from his thoughts and gasping with shock at her words.
"NO! DON'T COME IN! GO AWAY!" Ryu screams desperately, but it is too late.
The bathroom door opens, and the sight Ryu has would make every teenage boy in the world jealous and angry at him for it would be paradise to them, but for Ryu it was hell. The first thing he learned after arriving in this world is that these are not fictional characters anymore, but real people with real thoughts and feelings, and while his former self would have loved the sight of Rumi naked in front of him, he is now another person, most importantly, her younger brother, so seeing his sister naked was totally gross and nightmare-fuel for him.
"IDIOT! PUT A TOWEL ON" Ryu screams as he closes his eyes and covers them with his hand.
"Oh, what's the matter? Shy? I changed your diapers you brat, there's nothing in you I haven't seen". Rumi says with a cocksure grin.
"I'm gonna tell Mom and Dad". Ryu says, looking at his sister in the eyes.
"It's still February remember?! Mom and Dad will only come back at Christmas". Rumi says, lowering her back so she stays at eye level with Ryu.
One of the things Ryu hated most about his reincarnation was that he acted like his age sometimes, always against his will as if his body and brain forced him to be a child whenever they felt like it. Another thing he hates is the state of his parents, in anime when the main character lives alone, 50% of the time is because they are orphans, and the other 50% is because their parents are working overseas, Ryu's parents were the latter, for some reason, they believed that leaving their fifteen-year-old daughter living by herself and take care of her younger brother while going oversea to work was a good idea, Ryu almost believed they were waiting years for that moment because they went away the day he started his first day at school after leaning to talk and walk.
"Enough talking". Rumi says, grabbing his brother by the shoulders and turning him around. "Cover your ears."
Ryu obeys and grunts as a bucket of cold water is dropped over him. Rumi starts brushing Ryu's back while the boy thinks about the last year, he has been living in this world for five years now and living alone with his sister for one, he could barely remember his parents and brother from his former life despite how little time has passed, it might be a jerk move but he already prefers this world and his new family over his former one, despite all the cruel training and hardship thrown at him Rumi always supports and motivates him, and when he makes mistakes even her reproaches felt like she genuinely cared, because she did, unlike his former parents that only cared about how his actions reflected on them.
"Hey, Rumi". Ryu says.
"*Huh*? Nani?" Rumi stops washing his back and looks at him over his shoulder.
"Do you think I can be the best?" Ryu asks with a depressed tone.
"The best you say… *hmm* No, no chance, not in a million years". Rumi says with a cheerful tone while smiling.
"I see". Ryu says, feeling gloomy with his sister's words.
"But you can be the second best". Rumi says and pets her little brother's hair with love and care. "You WILL be the second best in the whole world."
That made Ryu raise his head, he turned his face around and looked at his sister in the eyes, her eyes and smile were all that he needed to see she fully believed in her words and had faith in her brother.
"Really?" Ryu asks, still skeptical and in need of confirmation.
"Yes, I know it". Rumi nods her head.
"But why second best?" Ryu asks. "Why can't I be the best?"
"Well sweet brother, that's because your Aneki will be number 1". Rumi says and brushes her brother's hair, putting a little strength behind it. "And you are a million years too early to even come close to surpass me."
Ryu chuckles, then laughs loudly and his sister does the same before continuing with their bath.
Author's note: Sorry for the ecchi scene at the end, I hope it didn't made you give up on this story.
I chose Mirko as the family because her personality is the one that seemed the most approriate for the story I'm trying to write. I chose the name Ryu because it is easy to write and given Mirko's real name, Rumi, I think it fits.
This might be a SI but I won't make him a OP charactor who one-shots everyone, as I states he will bleed and sweat to become powerful.
