Greeed/Yummies

The streets of Vale were subtle as people walked about. Despite nearly two years passed since the Fall, it didn't change the reminder of the grim day. With the Ridevendor Battalion looking out for everyone, Grimm activity was back to its usual numbers.

However, in the shady area of Vale, a dark hooded figure walked across the path to their destination. It irked him to know of the trouble it had ever had since the fight with the Kamen Rider. It lost a portion of its power. His eyes scanned his surroundings, scowling at the humans and Faunus that walked passed him.

He hated the form he took. However, this was the only way to hide his true form alongside his transformation. He hated having to use a human identity. He wasn't like his Greeed kind nor was he like the mindless Grimm. Unlike the Grimm, he can think clearly and hold back the urges to kill.

Ever since three of his Core Medals were gone, his power dwindled. It irked the Grimm Greeed greatly but the brat was left with a mark which was progress.

The distance and location was the problem. They were already nearing Atlas and he was stuck here! The cursed OOO's Super TaToBa finisher being responsible for the distance between him and OOO. Oh, he was angry alright but he needed to improvise as before.

Thus, what better way to get information. The criminal underworld served as the possibility to find a method of entering Atlas without stirring trouble. He wasn't suicidal nor was he a fool. He may be vulnerable against Core Energy but of normal methods? He was immune should he lose more Medals. That didn't mean he can waltz into Atlas to go after the boy. The boy would have support from his comrades and the two Greeed.

Planning carefully and accordingly was the best option.

His eyes laid upon the building he was searching for. With a snort, he entered and his ears were treated with the blasted music. It was loud and annoying.

His hooded gaze swiveled and saw the person he was searching for. The man named Junior who had information about nearly everything. He approached the man who took heed of him.

Junior noticed the face under the hood, a mop of pitch-black hair that looked wild with a lock of it dyed blue. Embedded against his slightly pale skin is blood red eyes. The choice of clothes under the cloak consists of a dark blue jacket with the symbol of a crab seen on the left breast pocket with a black shirt underneath. Hugging his legs are a pair of red pants.

"Can I help you?" Junior Xiong asked the cloaked teen.

"I need information. People say you are the one in Vale who can provide it." Well, more like he forced them to tell him of the right person. Did he leave them alive? No, they were an annoyance. Hopefully this man won't be that case.

"It comes at a price, kid."

The human-disguised Greeed did his best to suppress his irritation. He was no child.

"You must be joking." The 'young man' said through his teeth.

"Does it look like I am?"

"I don't have time for that. I need that damn information."

The boss frowned at the kid's rude behavior. The kid was becoming too demanding and that wasn't one to do towards him. "Melanie. Miltiade. Throw him out." Junior ordered.

The said duo moved themselves off from the stools and crossed their arms, glaring at the hooded customer.

"We have orders." The one in white informed before the twins dashed to him with their respective weapons.

The hooded 'teen' scowled and harshly sent the twins out of the building with considerable force before they ever had the chance to land a hit on him. Silence immediately washed over before the bartender was grabbed by the tie and pulled close to the young 'man'. "Alright, I had enough fun and games." His waist glowed with water spinning around, causing the young man to become a familiar Dark Rider.

SAME!

KUJIRA!

OOKAMIUO!

He became surrounded by three spinning colored Medals which accompanied the transformation. In front of the teen, they saw images of the three Medals he was using appear. The same was of course on the top, Kujira was in the middle, and Ookamiuo was at the bottom. The three images are then formed into one large, inverted, triangular crest which flew backward and into his chest. His body then became enveloped in energy which swiftly hardened into solid armor.

He now wore a black bodysuit under his three-toned suit of armor. His torso armor was dark blue and had matching gauntlets which were primarily black with deep blue trim. The shoulders were asymmetrical as a whale's tail jutted from the left and a whale's head was on the right. On the chest were symbols resembling aquatic animals arranged in an inverted triangle. Hanging from his belt were red hip plates. The same red armor adorned his legs in boots. His helmet was aqua blue, sporting a pair of yellow eyes and three fins that were pointed forwards. One of the fins was on the tip of the helmet while the other two flanked his faceplate, framing his mouth. In the center of his belt was a circular buckle that had a jagged edge around it.

"I want to know how I can enter Atlas without raising any trouble from their military. Either you gather information for me..." Junior swallowed to the lance that was pointing at his torso. "Or I will RIP you and everyone in this club into shreds like a shark!"

"I'll do it! I'll do it!" Junior gave in fearfully.

"Good."

Once he gets into Atlas, he will have his revenge. The brat took three Core Medals from his collection. This time, he will reap his life in return.

OOO's life will PERISH!

Remnants of Desires: Edge of Avarice

Chapter 1: Mantle, Grimm Trouble, A Friend's Return

Darkness.

It was all I could see.

My eyes saw nothing but the void. "Where… am I?" I traveled across the void but my feet began to touch solid rock due to the echoes. I looked ahead to notice a throne room was slowly revealing itself in the darkness. I took a steady approach and noticed a figure sitting on a throne. The figure I recognized greatly.

Sitting on the somewhat broken throne was Solaris. The gold and black coat that looked to be worn and tattered rested over his form as he held the pommel of a rusted sword downward, the tip touching the cracked earth. The golden helmet that was his crown was craned down as if he was resting or tired from whatever he did. The helmet didn't look to be in good condition either as it lost its glorious color.

I swallowed. I was hesitant to approach the prone figure. I wanted to step away but I knew it would do me no good. Mustering the courage I had in me, I approached the seated king.

"What is it that you really are...?"

I froze. He was asking me a question. I witnessed him lift his head slightly.

"Where do you stand in this cruel world?"

Again, he was asking me a question.

"I…"

My spine suddenly shuddered to the feeling of stares. I looked back and noticed other figures standing behind me, much to my surprise. It was OOO, rather numerous of them. each one adorned in the full combos, minus PuToTyra, BuraKaWani, and Super TaToBa. Looking at the king on the throne, I heard Solaris took a moment to breathe to relax his posture.

The late Multi-King slowly pointed the sword at me. The old yet harsh gaze staring at me intensely.

"Are you a Multi-King? Or… are you - a Kamen Rider?"

My eyes snapped open from the sudden sleep I experienced. I was awakened when a hand was felt on my shoulder. I guess I fell asleep earlier.

I should introduce myself, my name is Enrique Alderete and I'm 20 years old, about to be 21. I have short hair that was both slightly messy yet kept neat while being a raven black color. My skin is a light ivory color, and my eyes are a dark brown color. I stand at 5ft. 7in. being my height but the noticeable feature about me was the scar I had on my cheek. Over my torso was a gray v-neck shirt as my locket hung around my neck, a black and gray ring also resting next to the locket. I also wore dark pants along with black combat boots. Around the pants was a belt with the TaToBa symbol engraved in the silver buckle while the left side of my belt carried vials of ice Dust for my Semblance, Cryokinesis.

I was originally from Earth and it has been almost two years since I ended up in Remnant. Being in Remnant was challenging due to the events I have endured ever since I arrived in this world. But despite the hard things, I made good memories here. I made good friends, fell in love, even trained to become a Huntsman in the Academy of this world.

However, things were… not easy after the Fall of Beacon Academy. Some of us were left with dreadful reminders of that day. Especially a few of my friends. None can compare to what we discovered during the travel to Argus. To learn the world of Remnant had another history, one where people wielded magic granted by the gods until the divine beings left the world and humanity began anew.

Especially the time I became Kamen Rider OOO. I can never forget the day I arrived in Remnant. OOO was a fictional hero in my world but here? He is very much real and I was the new OOO of this world.

"We're here already?" I asked as I rubbed my eyes. My eyes drift up, meeting pools of amber. The eyes belonged to a young woman in her late teens. She has long, wavy black hair that stops at her waistline. Hugging her chest was a crop top that exposed her midriff and had rectangular and diamond-shaped holes surrounding her neck. Additionally, she is wearing a white belt and pouch over dark, tight stretchy pants that hugged her legs lovingly. She also wore a pair of thigh-high black heeled boots with gold-colored edging around the top. The left boot has a pair of belted straps tightly wrapped around the thigh. Each boot bore a belladonna emblem in white on the outer side of the thigh. Her skin has a light olive complexion adorned with the amber eyes. The noticeable feature about her was the pair of literal cat ears on her head and the black and violet band on her left ring finger.

This was Blake Belladonna. The reason for the cat ears is because she is a Cat Faunus. Faunus were people with animal features here in Remnant. And as for the ring, it was because Blake and I are engaged and made a promise, a vow to stay by each other's side.

"We are," Blake confirmed but it sounded like there was some concern. Something must have bothered her.

I grunted, moving onto my feet but stumbled as Blake helped me stay on my feet. "Thanks, Blake." The reason for my imbalance was because before we left Argus, I had to fight Adam Taurus, a former splinter group leader of the White Fang and then Kamen Rider Poseidon who was also a Grimm Greeed. The former was Blake's ex who swore vengeance towards her for breaking the trust they shared and extended to me for ruining his plans in Haven and cutting off his arm during the Fall of Beacon.

Adam Taurus was dead, however. Blake and I were the ones who killed him. Yes, I was unsettled by what I did but Adam gave me no choice during our fight. He went too far and my life and Blake's were at risk during that time.

Poseidon, however, was a Grimm Greeed born from the late Gara. The mad alchemist's anger and hatred combined with the essence of Grimm within the Black Core Medals lead to the rise of the abomination. I fought him in Argus but his finisher left a mark on me. The very scar that was seen on my cheek.

I walked a few steps, noticing the others who were seeing the view of our destination.

"Wow…" I mutter in awe as I see what they were looking at.

Right before my very eyes was the floating continent that was no doubt Atlas while the city on the ground was Mantle.

So Atlas was a floating kingdom suspended by Dust. This world keeps surprising me at times at the function of Dust. When I first came to Atlas with Ankh in order to obtain the BuraKaWani, I never had the chance to fully see the view of the kingdom. But now? It was astonishing and almost breathtaking. Especially the view at night.

The ship moved downward, getting close to Mantle but I noticed something was off. "What's going on?" I asked, looking out the window to see the city of Mantle. While the city was lit by its lights, there were various screens displaying the familiar general who looked to have grown a beard over the past two years. He was giving an announcement to the people in the streets below.

"That's...General Ironwood?" The general has changed over the years. The man looked tired, exhausted from the look in his eyes. Hell, he has a beard.

"He looks...tired," Ruby said in pity.

"General Ironwood and I posted propaganda all around Atlas and Mantle." The Specialist stated. "It was used to quell the panic here ever since the lockdown began."

"And looking at the city, it didn't go well." The Bird Greeed scoffed.

"Can't you be a little less critical?" Weiss asked.

"I tell it like it is."

"He isn't wrong, Weiss," Winter admitted bitterly. "Once you see the state of Mantle, you will know that he's right."

The ship continued to hover above the city of Mantle but I began to notice the conditions the city was in. People were moving aside whenever they saw the military robots, even small glimpses of hovering cameras that move around. All of this was literally strict.

"The only time I saw this was when the military does something like this in response to serious disasters…"

This was the first time I saw it with my own eyes. Normally stuff like this was seen on Earth in a few locations in the world, even in the past. But this? This was definitely bad given the Beacon incident left a huge mark on Atlas and their reputation.

"Like the Fall of Beacon…" Qrow realized with a grimace and muttered to himself, "James… what have you been doing…"

Hell, I was wondering the same thing. I never thought the situation at Atlas could be this bad. Ironwood certainly broke after Beacon fell.

I still remember Winter's words during the trip on how much has changed in this Kingdom.

A few hours earlier...

"So, Winter...what exactly happened at Atlas after Beacon fell…?" Enrique asked carefully. "Weiss only told us that Ironwood got even more paranoid, but she doesn't know the exact details of it."

"Yes...after Beacon fell, the general was afraid that the same incident would happen at Atlas." She admitted. "In fact, even the entire council is afraid as well. The greatest of Atlas's security got dismantled in seconds."

They knew what that meant. Atlas's reputation took a huge blow due to the Atlesian Paladins being hacked and used by the enemy to wreak havoc.

"In response, he went and closed off Atlas...and even put more restrictions on the citizens."

"You gotta be kidding."

"Mama is right," Rouge said from her lap. "More restrictions were applied. Not a good thing for the Atlesian or Mantle locals."

"And let me guess, that general sent soldiers to ensure that no one goes in or out." Ankh crossed his arms in disinterest.

"Patrols, security drones, daily announcements, and operatives on the constant move." The small homunculus confirmed.

"It's that bad…?" Yang stated in shock.

"Yes."

"Then how did you exactly sneak out if it was like that?" Weiss questioned her nephew.

"I stole the drones and hacked communications to allow proper access to leave from Atlas to Argus," Rouge replied. "It was how I got to Argus."

"He's learned a lot of things from me. And also from others." Winter confirmed.

"Given Rouge was a part of me." Ankh snorted. "Makes sense that he'll be able to do something like that. But the bigger question remains: How do we get to that thick-headed general if those soldiers won't even let anyone close?"

"And if the lockdown's true like what the Ice Queen said, they're gonna arrest us just for trespassing." Qrow frowned. "We gotta make haste in getting to Atlas before they get suspicious of this airship we're in."

After having to descend the ship to prevent suspicion, we carefully entered the streets as we observed our surroundings. The people didn't look happy about the constant presence of the drones that walk or hover around.

"I'm guessing this is what's happening due to the lockdown?" I asked Winter.

"I'm afraid so…" Winter sighed as Rouge stood close to his adoptive mother. "Instead of keeping them safe, the people are getting more...chaotic."

"Do you think the general is right to do this?" I pressed on. "No offense but you do serve under him."

"I was at first...but seeing this happen changed my mind despite his reasons." The Specialist grimaced. "Was it worth it...making the Kingdom into something like this?"

"You have to remember that the Kingdom lost the Great War." Maria reminded us. "Back then, Mantle needed a sign to know that there is still a bright future ahead of them, and that sign is Atlas. I'm sure you know what I mean, don't you?"

We stopped for a moment as a truck drove past us. We could see Faunus miners in the truck bed before the vehicle was gone from our sights.

Nora crossed her arms and said, "Unless you're the one having to look up at it."

"Yeah...this city…looks very unpleasant," I admitted. "I've seen stuff like this in television and history books but this? This is just wrong to live through. Let's just hope these people don't act out."

"What do you mean?" asked Oscar.

"If my world's history has taught me anything, if the people in charge keep pushing around the people under them, they will cause an uprising. Lemme tell you about the French Revolution. Let's just say that a lot of people lost their heads when that happened." I paused when I noticed the looks of confusion again. "I meant they literally had their heads chopped off with a guillotine - a device used for executions."

The group felt appalled or paled at the information.

"What on Remnant did your people do for so long?" Qrow questioned.

"Believe me, Earth had its dark moments without Grimm. Be it from war or crisis; financial or natural wise. We've managed to either screw things up royally, and do amazing things at the same time." I admitted bitterly. "Even to this day, we still go through such events. My dad and others in the military going to war as an example."

"In other words, battles never ended."

"Sadly." I was uncomfortable to know the reality back home but regrettably, from what I saw on Earth, it wasn't all that peaceful. Yeah, my ideals of peace may seem foolish here, but I still held on regardless.

"This whole city… it is awful." Blake agreed. "It shouldn't end up like this and get worse as one Enrique mentioned."

The others dreaded the thought of the same thing my world's history went through happening here.

"Yeah? You don't like it here?!" We noticed from behind us two people, one being drunk as his companion due to his slurred voice and the flask in hand. "There's plenty of space in the tundra!"

Seeing the drunkards, Blake sighed. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to-"

"Atlas is the greatest kingdom in the world, alright?!"

Ruby was getting frustrated by the drunk's behavior. "Hey-!" Blake stopped Ruby and said, "We can't cause a scene."

The drunk man's equally drunk buddy spoke up on his behalf, "The embargo... The embargo's got us in a rough patch. But it'll blow over, you'll see."

"We try and help the other Kingdoms, and this is what happens? I say let 'em rot!" The first drunk added.

"I apologize. I didn't mean to insult you." Blake apologized.

The man spits to the side to rid some of the alcohol he drank. "Stupid Faunus like you wouldn't understand."

My fingers curled at the insult made to Blake. I thought about flicking the guy away with my semblance but I decided against it to avoid trouble. I put my arm on Blake's shoulder to give her some comfort. "Just ignore him. Let's get going."

They agreed and we walked to where Maria wanted us to go. Blake gave a quick glance at me and smiled in which I returned.

After a short walk while following Maria, we arrived at the place she wanted us to be. Said place was obviously a clinic of sorts due to the symbol above. A Faunus waved goodbye to the person inside and happily walked away. I briefly noticed the prosthetic arm on her which Yang saw as well.

"And no more heavy-lifting, yah hear?" A male voice said from the inside of the clinic.

"We're here." Maria informed us as we all entered.

Behind the desk was a man was of elderly age with dark skin and short, balding white hair. He wore a green cap with oval-shaped glasses. Over his torso was a red vest over a cream shirt with a pink bowtie. His dark mustard pants and leather boots match with his cap and red-brown belt.

Though he was in the middle of shuffling papers. Seeing the elderly man distracted, Maria cleared her throat to get his attention. It seemed to have worked too as he diverted his attention from the papers to Maria who smiled.

"Ah, yes, yes," pushing a stack of papers aside, the man continued, "Have we met?"

Talk about the start of a conversation.

"Cybernetic optical implants." Maria pointed at her eyes. "You adjust them. Every ten years or so?"

The elderly man stared at her for a few moments before throwing his hands cheerfully into the air. "Maria!"

The surprising yet cool part was the chair he sat on was not like a wheelchair the moment he moved around the desk. It had four pointed legs that allowed him to move across the room without having a need to move himself off from the seat nor push the chair itself.

"Yes, with the cybernetic optical implants! I adjust them every ten years or so." He offered his hand to her and led her to an examination table. "Oh wow, has it been that long already?"

"Ah, I know. I age like a fine wine. Would've been here sooner if I hadn't run into these jokers. At the time, I thought they might need my guidance while fighting a little old sphinx."

"Oh, did they?"

Maria chuckled slightly, "No, no. They had much more complicated issues."

"Hey, quit the old talk and tell us who this old man is?" Ankh asked irritably.

Maria sighed. "Always impatient. This man is Pietro, one of the most brilliant minds in Atlas."

"By working at a place like this?" Yang asked as a piece of tile from the ceiling fell onto the floor.

"He likes to keep a low profile," Maria explained. "Something I came to realize that none of you know anything about."

"Oi!" Ankh barked. "If anything, they are the ones. Don't lump me with them!"

"You're the one who asked who he is, Ankh." I deadpanned.

The red Greeed gave me a glare, "Don't even start."

Maria cleared her throat to catch our attention. "As I was saying, this pharmacy is just where he volunteers when he's not building the future of Atlas alongside Ironwood, up in the clouds."

"Oh, it's stuffy up there. Down here, I get to help the locals and have a little fun." Pietro laughed. "I'm currently working on shoes that make you dance. Wanna try 'em on?"

Nora excitedly pumped her fist at the offer. "YES!"

"Before we get to that, we were wondering if you could help us. We came to Atlas hoping to talk to General Ironwood, but um…" Yang started.

"What exactly has been happening here?" Blake finished.

Pietro coughed for a moment before gathering himself to start his explanation. "Well, the Fall of Beacon took a toll on all of us. James was no different. I couldn't tell you exactly what it was he saw there, but it changed him. He's…" he trailed off.

"He's scared." Qrow assumed.

"Paranoid would be the more appropriate term. You have to understand, it wasn't just the Grimm. Someone completely dismantled Atlas security code, made it their play-thing, and made us look like traitors to some and buffoons to everyone else. Whoever managed to do that is either a genius or one of our own. I fear the answer may be both, and so does the general." Pietro responded.

"Maybe Atlas isn't as safe as we thought." Ren grimaced.

Oscar bit his lip. "After we came all this way, we can't just leave, can we?"

"How does the council feel about all of this?" Weiss inquired.

Pietro sighed, "Well, the council's so scared, they'll agree to whatever he wants. Though, some representatives from Mantle… Wait, you're… You're Weiss Schnee!"

Weiss gasped and stepped back, the rest of us now nervous.

Yang however stepped forward with her prosthetic arm outstretched. "Wait, what was it that you were trying to say about Mantle?" She asked.

Pietro looked at the prosthetic. "You painted it."

Yang withdrew her arm, confused. "What?"

"Is everything okay?" asked Ruby.

"Um, Mr. Pietro, we were trying to ask you a question about Mantle." I stated.

When his eyes laid on me briefly, his brows raised slightly. "Black coat… " Now noticing the five of us, Pietro's eyes widened in recognition. "Oh you must be Team RWBY and Enrique!"

My brows raised most definitely upon that. How did he know us?

"Wait, you know us?!" Ruby asked incredulously.

"Oh my girl, I do. It took me a while to realize who you all are. My daughter has told me so much about you people."

"Your… daughter?"

Pietro's explanation was interrupted when sirens rang throughout the streets, locals already vacating the area based on the screams we heard. That was not a good sign.

"Trouble!" Jaune realized.

"Winter, you and Rouge should stay here with Maria and Pietro. We'll take care of it." I insisted.

"Understood. I'll keep an eye on the area in the meantime if it reaches here."

"Be careful, OOO," Rouge advised.

I chuckled before the rest of us followed Jaune as the locals ran past us in fear. The streets slowly became empty as the silence of human presence made us cautious. Yang readied her Ember Celica, Ren with his Stormflower, Weiss with her Myrtenaster. Ankh, Jaune, and Qrow with their swords. Nora with her hammer. Pyrrha drew out her javelin and shield and readied herself. Ruby with her Crescent Rose. Gamel pounded his fists in anticipation and glee to fight. Blake grabbed her Gambol Shroud but took notice of its condition. She was reminded how it led to its broken state.

"Blake, catch." My fiancée looked at me the moment I tossed her my Upgraded Medajalibur. She caught it and glanced at me in surprise. I gave a curt nod. With her Gambol Shroud still in need of a repair due to its state from before, it wasn't right to let her fight with just her weapon's gun mode. With my Upgraded Medajalibur being one of my only weapons with a gun mode, she should use it since I already have a weapon I can use.

"Thanks." Blake thanked.

I pulled the familiar pitch black and blue sword, the O-Calibur from the sheath on my hip and stabbed it into the ground. With my sword ready, I produced the black and blue buckle and placed it onto my waist. With the belt locking it in place, I brandished three Medals of the signature combo I have always used.

Placing the red and Green Core first, I then insert the yellow and slanted the buckle. I grabbed the O-Scanner from my right hip and swiped it across the Medals. "Henshin!"

TAKA!

TORA!

BATTA!

TA-TO-BA TATOBA TA-TO-BA!

I became surrounded by spinning colored Medals which accompanied the transformation so I couldn't be too sure how the woman was reacting. In front of me, I spied images of the three Medals I was using appeared. Taka was of course on the top, Tora was in the middle, and Batta was at the bottom. The three images are then combined into one large crest which flew backward and into my chest. My body then became enveloped in energy which swiftly hardened into solid armor.

My helmet was mainly black, save for the red faceplate which looked like a hawk with its wings spread out in flight. On my forehead and acting as the hawk's beak was a red crystal. I could see through the large eye holes as I could see through it clearly when the eyes are supposed to be green.

Running from my chin and down my neck was a red line that was connected to the top portion of the image on my chest. My torso armor had rounded shoulders that had yellow lines on them. Yellow lines ran down my arms and into the yellow gauntlets I wore decorated with what looked like folded claws on the forearm.

Lastly, my legs were minimally covered with segmented green armor, not unlike that of a grasshopper's legs, connected by green lines to the lower section of the crest I bore.

This was my armor as Kamen Rider OOO. I kicked the sword up, allowing it to land in my left hand while I flicked my right arm to unfold the Tora Claw. "I am guessing the defenses aren't doing well if people are running away?"

"Seeing the state of the city, I'm not surprised," Ankh stated.

We saw on the other side of the street a drone being tossed like a ragdoll. The remaining machines attempted to shoot at whatever got its comrade but were put down. The Grimm.

Unlike the common Beowolves in Vale, the ones I was seeing reminded me of the Sabertooth tigers from my world. For now, I'll just label the Grimm in front of us as that for now.

'This world keeps on bringing similarities.' I noted. "Ready guys?"

"Yup!" Ruby chirped as the Grimm now began to run towards our direction. With it, Yang was the first to launch herself forward while Ren quickly followed behind.

Seeing Ren dash ahead, Nora lowered her hammer with a pout. "Hey!" She looked at Pyrrha. "Pyrrha! Give me a boost!"

"Done!" Pyrrha raised her shield as Nora landed against it. The orange-haired spitfire launched herself with the help of her hammer to join Yang and Ren thanks to Pyrrha's shield. An idea came to my head at the plan upon seeing Nora's action. "Hey, Jaune! Raise your shield too!"

"H-Huh?"

"Just do the same thing Pyrrha did with Nora!"

"Oh right!" Jaune lifted his shield and I dashed to him. Using the Batta Legs, I powered the push and catapulted myself to a few Grimm thanks to Jaune. With the O-Calibur and Tora Claw, I cleaved a few into pieces before I spun on my heel to cause a burst of ice to erupt under another. The sabertooth was skewered by the sharp ice before allowing myself to jump over and slam the sword into the next by its head.

Twisting my grip, I held the sword in a reverse hold and stabbed a Grimm behind me. Pulling the sword forward, I used the Batta Legs to kick it away.

Pyrhha dashed ahead and slid across the pavement and threw her spear. It initially launched a sabertooth backwards but she used her shield to bash another away from her. With her Polarity Semblance bringing back her weapon, she jumped and slammed her lance into another Grimm's cranium.

After Yang uppercutted a Grimm, Ren landed on another one's back, stabbing his guns' blades into it, and it leaps into the air to knock him off, only for Nora to slam it to the ground with her hammer. Jaune beheaded the next attacking Grimm. When a second one leaps at him, he blocked with his shield and stabbed it just above its collarbone.

Qrow sliced two sabertooth in half, leaned back to dodge a third upon its attempt to tackle him. He transformed his Harbinger into scythe mode and used it to hook the Grimm as it made another attempt to tackle him. As he finished spinning his scythe, he planted its blade into the ground and punched another in the head, then uppercut it into the air. He kicked Harbinger upward, catching it. With the weapon in his grip, he straightened the blade and impaled the Grimm, slicing another one that leapt at him from behind the deceased tiger.

While Qrow shot at more inbound sabertooth, another one turned its attention to Oscar. It charged him, and the farm boy leapt into the air and stabbed at its skull with Ozpin's cane.

Seeing the Sabertooth gone, Oscar was relieved that he defeated it but heard a growl from behind. He had to act but was saved by Blake as she sliced its body with the Upgraded Medajalibur.

While it didn't hold a ribbon like her broken Gambol Shroud, she knew how to use the Medajalibur. The sword was made for dual usage of gun and blade mode after gaining its new components in the past.

Gamel tackled another sabertooth, crashing it into a few of its kin before crushing it with his bare hands. Another tried to bite him but its teeth shattered upon gnawing his head. It meowed in shock like a cat before it was ripped in two.

After Weiss sliced through a Grimm, four more came running toward her from another street. She was amused before black glyphs appeared, levitating them off the ground with the brief raise of two fingers.

With Weiss using her Glyphs to lift the sabertooth Grimm pack, Ren and I glanced at each other with a grin. Well, mine was hidden by the helmet but he knew what I was thinking.

Both of us dashed towards the hovering Grimm and used our respective weapons to cut through them like butter with each leap. Upon landing, we bumped our fists as the Sabertooth Grimm were severed and dissolved into nothingness.

"Still got it." I mused at our teamwork.

Ren chuckled at the remark but his eyes noticed something. "Enrique, behind you!"

I quickly looked back but the Grimm pounced on me before I had the chance to use the sword. I skidded as it was on top. I used both of my armored hands to stop its jaws. I cast my Semblance to keep it in place but when I did, a beam of green energy sliced through its head before I had the chance to impale it with the Tora Claw.

"What the?" I stood on my feet. "Ren?"

"That wasn't me."

Another beam of green energy pierced another Sabertooth as we all began to notice each one was being eliminated. Something or someone was swiftly killing the soulless beasts.

Just then, everyone looked up at the sky as a figure hovered in the air with the shattered moon shining behind them. The figure descended before gracefully touching down.

We were shocked to see who it was the moment the figure landed.

"P-Penny…?" I uttered as we were surprised to see the familiar girl. Or rather, one who has changed over time since the Fall of Beacon. All of us who knew her shared the same reaction. I thought she was in pieces from the tournament.

Her hair was now longer and darker.

… Wait a minute.

Pietro mentioned his daughter… then that means… he was her creator/father. Who knew that he is the one behind Penny's creation. Guess it makes sense knowing that Pietro is one of the smartest men in Atlas according to Maria.

"I was about to tell you about my daughter before the alarm," Pietro replied, his mobile chair crawling towards us. "We managed to salvage her core from the Amity Arena. As long as her core's intact, I can rebuild her."

"Oh…" I noted in surprise. So the core acts as Penny's 'heart' of sorts. As long as it's not destroyed, Penny is not dead. Just like Pyrrha and the Greeed with the Core Medal within them.

"Darling, why don't you say hello to your friends?" Pietro insisted on his daughter.

Penny looked at us before her mood brightened in excitement upon seeing Ruby especially. The red hooded girl holstered her weapon.

"Sal-"

"Huh?"

"U-" Penny looked prepared to run towards us. Okay, I think I am starting to realize what she is about to say.

"TATIONS!" The android ran towards our direction in glee before using the boosters.

I moved aside as Ruby was tackled by Penny first. I winced at the impact and I was sure it took some of Ruby's aura.

That has got to hurt.

"Yup, that's definitely Penny, alright." I hummed at the girl's behavior. Her catchphrase, the behavior towards Ruby. All of it just speaks for itself.

Penny released Ruby from a tight hug and I could see Ruby was just trying to process what was going on. The last time Ruby had seen Penny, she had been dismembered by Pyrrha. I looked over to see Pyrrha who was just as shocked at the sight of Penny. No doubt, she still felt guilty for what she had done but she was actually relieved that Penny was alive again.

"Penny? Is that really you?" Ruby asked as she touched Penny's face.

"It really is me, Ruby," Penny chirped cheerfully. She tilted her head in confusion. "Ruby, are you alright? You seem to be crying."

Tears of joy welled up in Ruby's eyes as it was her turn to throw herself at Penny and give her a hug. It was not as tight as Penny's but it was still pretty tight.

"Penny..." Ruby sobbed. "I thought...I thought I lost you."

Penny hugged Ruby back, gently this time.

It was quite a touching moment.

The two broke the hug and Penny smiled at her best friend. And Ruby's reaction was understandable. So much had happened but just seeing Penny made the pain of her loss go away.

"I missed you, Ruby." Penny confessed.

"I missed you too, Penny."

The orange-haired girl smiled before she gasped in joy upon seeing me. "Oh, Enrique!" She immediately appeared in front of me and I winced upon the hug. "It is so good to see you too!"

"Same here, Penny." I smiled thinly.

The alarms suddenly rang off which caught the android's attention. Hearing it she had to break away from the embrace, looking at Ruby and I.

"Oh, there's so much we need to catch up on. I simply can't wait!" Penny said exuberantly before the klaxons went off. "But it appears we'll have to wait!"

"Looks like you have another job to do," I said. "Semper Fi, Penny."

Penny tilted her head and repeated, "Semper… fi?"

"Oh uh… it means 'Always Faithful'."

She blinked in curiosity. I totally forgot that no one in Remnant even knew of the existence of different languages (aside from Ruby and the others given I explained to them about Earth). Here in Remnant, there was only one language unlike Earth. "So interesting! I want to hear more about it when we see each other again! I can't wait to tell you guys how I have been and I am just very excited about the whole experience!!"

She sounded very excited as she flew off to the location the alarms blared.

"… I have so many questions regarding what occured for us." I admitted.

"And thankfully, I have many answers to the possible questions. But let's get out of this weather first." Pietro said to us.

Maria followed Pietro. "I have absolutely no idea who that child was. Is she important somehow?"

"That was unexpected." Jaune noted.

"Never a dull moment." Ren nodded in agreement.

Qrow chuckled. "But I wouldn't say unwelcome. Hope it doesn't get any worse than this." He joked albeit lightly.

We began to follow Maria and Pietro. However, as we walked, Ankh paused his movement which got my attention. "Ankh?" I inquired.

"We got company." The Bird Greeed frowned.

Before we can react, several bolases wrap around Oscar, Gamel, and Team JNPR, the spheres at the ends of the ropes locking into place with Gravity Dust. Blake turned to look back at the commotion, just in time for all of Team RWBY to be caught. As Ruby landed, the Relic of Knowledge came unhooked from her belt and clattered to the ground. Qrow draws his sword and looks for their unseen enemy, before being captured himself. I quickly reached for both blades as did Ankh with his short swords.

The first rope got me in the legs, stopping me before the second ensnared my arms, causing me to topple to the ground. Ankh managed to stop one from ensnaring him due to his high experience and being in his true body. Alas he was met with one catching him off guard, falling to the pavement with us.

"What the hell?!" I squirmed from the bindings that ensnared us.

"You just had to say it, didn't you drunk asshole," Ankh spat in annoyance.

Five uniform-clad people come out of hiding and surrounded us. From the looks of it they were Atlesians due to their uniforms. "Good work, team." The lead man said.

"Hey! What's going on?!" Oscar stammered.

Qrow gruntled bitterly and raised his head to the man. "Hey, pal! I'm a licensed Huntsman! Just helped save everyone?"

The Atlesian looked down at Qrow, twirling a horseshoe on his finger. He placed the horseshoe away and picked up Qrow's weapon. The other uniformed operatives began gathering everyone else's weapons, while Atlesian Knight-200s approach, and the operatives hand the confiscated weapons to the robots. The lead man then approached Ruby, picked up the Relic, and looked at it. With it in hand, he saw my squirming form as I did my damn best to hide the Gauntlet while the buckle remained locked on my waist. When our gazes met I clenched.

"We were trying to help! You dicks!" I yelled. Those were the only words that were able to come out of my mouth. Why would they arrest us when we practically stopped a Grimm attack?!

"Hm. Let's get them loaded into the next transport." The lead man ordered to his comrades.

Seeing our explanations being ignored, Beast Greeed was now angered, slowly moving himself onto his feet and assumed his Greeed form. "RAAAAHHHHHH!" Gamel roared, freeing himself from the restraints that bound him.

"What the hell?" The Atlas operatives were shocked to see the Beast Greeed change form and free himself with ease. Guess they forgot how the Greeed were still around and originally stayed in Vale.

"We are not lying! We are here to see the Ironwood man!!" Gamel argued. The drones took a shot at the Beast Greeed for his monster form. The impact didn't budge or hurt Gamel but it angered him. "MEANIES!!!"

Uh oh. That's not good! They were provoking him! Gamel was like a child throwing a tantrum but with tons of strength to do too much damage if he ever rampaged.

The Beast Greeed grabbed the drone by the face and ripped its head off before slamming his fist through another. The bullets bounced off Gamel's sturdy body as he destroyed the drones who took a shot at him before his sights set on the human operatives who were now cautious and wary. After seeing the bullets unable to stop him, they were in a lot of trouble.

Gamel pounded his chest in fury and was ready to charge at the operatives.

"Gamel! Stop it!" Pyrrha commanded. We couldn't let Gamel risk the chance of destroying the area in a fit of rage. Gamel quickly looked at the restrained redhead and then me. The Beast Greeed saw the Atlas soldiers who were still standing aiming their weapons at him warily. "Don't hurt anyone again!"

"But-!"

"Listen to Pyrrha, Gamel!" I agreed with her.

"Just do it, idiot!" Ankh barked. The Bird Greeed would have easily freed himself as well with his Greeed form but he wasn't willing to cause chaos as Gamel was trying to do.

Gamel whimpered in concern before he changed back into his human form. The Atlas soldiers carefully approached Gamel and this time applied more restraints, the Beast squirming.

"Gamel, don't do anything bad." Pyrrha tried to calm the Greeed. "Please."

"Men, stop this instant!" The Ace Ops noticed Winter as Rouge was following.

"Specialist Schnee!? What are you-"

"They are here with me so release them."

"They are here due to reports of unlicensed-"

"Who has rid the Grimm when the Atlas drones couldn't? Tell me, what is it that was a better option before your late arrival alongside Penny?" Winter scrutinized them.

The man held his tongue at Winter's statement.

"I would listen to mama," Rouge stated to them. He knew how the Atlas Specialist was given she took care of him.

The Atlesian looked at all of us then at Winter and sighed begrudgingly. "Release the restraints on them and return their belongings." The operative ordered.

The Atlas Operatives began to remove the restraints on us much to our relief and handed us back our respective weapons. We had to be grateful for Winter's intervention in the problem.

"Heh, for a second there I thought we were gonna be arrested." Qrow chuckled, rubbing his arms. "Great work, Ice Queen. Seems chasing your son to Argus is a blessing in disguise for us."

"Don't push it." Winter sent a quick glare at Qrow while Rouge released a quiet giggle.

"Alright." However, the operative looked at the squirming Beast Greeed. "But we cannot let this… thing free."

"What? But he's with us!" Ruby argued.

"Not after what he tried to do. I am sorry but it's for the best."

Winter grimaced at the operative's statement. With the rules that were planted in Mantle since the incident, she couldn't act now until they were brought to the General himself to clear things for the minor incident.

"Don't be harsh on him or provoke him in any way, that is an order." Winter reluctantly ordered.

"Understood."

Pyrrha and I looked at each other in concern as Gamel was put into the heavily armored vehicle. The Beast Greeed looked at us with worry as the doors closed on him.

So much for an easy way of showing up to Atlas.

To be continued...

(NEXT TIME)

"General Ironwood." Winter acknowledged her superior.

"You plan to launch that into the atmosphere…?" I uttered in surprise. This was similar to a space launch.

"I need to speak to you. Ankh and Gamel are to come along as well." Ironwood said to me.

Next Time: Ironwood, New Approach, An Understanding

A/N: With it comes the end to the first chapter of the Third season of Remnants of Desires. The group finally arrived at Atlas and now got themselves into a predicament but also the return of Penny.

I'm sure some of you may wonder the theme to this as the story is labeled 'Edge of Avarice'. You will soon see what will happen to our protagonist but I can't spoil what it will be. You just have to pick up the hints or clues to find out. If you guys are curious to if I will be applying the game RWBY: Arrowfell storyline into this given it is canon, that is under consideration but it will be decided soon enough. Plus I want to include that the updates to this will begin shortly after Volume 9 premieres.

And also as you may have noticed from the rating, it will be as such due to language especially with the occasional rare lemons so you are warned.

Thank you all for reading the first chapter to the latest addition and look forward to the next chapter.

Until then, don't forget to favorite, follow, and review this story! See you all next time when I publish a new story on February!
