Chapter 47

"I've gotta admit, I wasn't sure if we'd be able to hang out like this, after...everything, yeah." Will remarked with a soft smile.

Mike nodded. "I know what you mean, it's...it's crazy how much that has been happening lately. I don't recall a lot of crazy incidents like this before?"

"No, there's not really...occasionally we'll have supervillains show up and cause chaos but…" Will explained then shrugged. "Never really had supervillains like this before, except for Sandman. Plus I've never had a villain team up before."

Mike nodded, taking this in. They were out in central park and they weren't alone, the rest of their friends were all there too. Lucas and Max smiled as they walked, holding hands, Dustin was also smiling while Suzie cuddled up to him, head on his shoulder.

'The Spider-Team is all here...I've been friends with them all for so long, Mike the longest. But never did I imagine they would take such risks for me.' Will thought happily. 'The best friends possible, doing everything they can to help me, even as Spider-Man.'

That, of course, wasn't all as Mike gently wrapped his arm around Will's waist and Will smiled wider. Mike, his oldest friend, now so much more than a friend. They finally stopped walking and sat down just outside Belvedere Castle.

Wanting to have a few private moments right now, they remained within the area, able to see each other, but had moved to separate benches in order to enjoy these private moments before joining each other again. As such, Mike and Will took a moment to enjoy their peace, sat close, Will's head resting on Mike's shoulder, purely due to their height difference.

"Still can't believe we...we're actually together, it feels like a dream." Will admitted.

"I know, I still can't believe it either." Mike said warmly. "I was...I admit I was scared at first, then...just as I began to come to terms with how I felt, well…"

"That was when your dad threw you out?" Will realized.

Mike nodded. "Yeah. Still, it helped me come to terms with things. I spent so long up to that point trying to please my dad, to try and be the best son I could. That's why I worked so hard at school, worked at the Bugle and...just everything."

"Well, you're free of him now." Will said with a soft smile. "I noticed you've also left the Bugle."

"Yeah, I decided to accept Dr. Connors internship offer, so I'm focusing more on school work to make the grades to turn that into a real job. Don't worry, I'll still have time for F.E.A.S.T. and us." Mike replied, smirking a little at the end.

Will elbowed him playfully but then nodded, looking around. To his relief, amongst the people that passed by the area, the worst they were getting was a funny look. Turning back to Mike he saw the look in his eyes and nodded, they then kissed softly, enjoying the peace while it lasted.

Silence reigned for a moment between Lucas and Max as they also sat, it was as if both were silently casting about for a suitable subject to talk about. Finally Max sighed and turned to Lucas.

"Lucas, I just...the data Will recovered, about Symbiotes, the thing that's taken over Billy...do you think, there's a way to, to save him?" She asked.

Lucas frowned. "I, I'm not sure, even if there was, Max, are you sure that's what you want? I mean yeah, Neil was an asshole but still, Billy practically murdered him. He hurt you and your mom."

"I don't want him saved simply because he's my brother." Max remarked firmly. "I want him locked up, so he can pay for what he's done. Him dying is just another way for him to get away with it."

Lucas was a little taken aback and, seeing this, Max's eyes softened and she sighed.

"Sorry, that was...I shouldn't have gotten so worked up." She said. "But like I said, I'd prefer for him to be freed from that thing and arrested."

Lucas nodded. "Well, if there's a way, we'll find it."

Max smiled at that, appreciating his dedication to helping her. She knew that even if they didn't find any way of saving Billy from the Symbiote, so as to ensure he'd face justice for what happened, they at least would have tried.

Also enjoying their own moment of peace, Dustin and Suzie watched the birds flocking to a nearby bird feeder.

"Dustin I…" Suzie began softly. "I can't help but wonder sometimes."

Dustin bit his lip. "Is...is something wrong?"

Suzie shook her head. "Nothing wrong I just...I'm amazed at how things have happened so far. I never imagined anything like this happening in my life."

"Yeah. It is pretty crazy." Dustin admitted. "But then, I never expected one of my friends to be Spider-Man, not that I regret it, especially helping him with our Spider-Team idea."

Suzie nodded in agreement. "I know, I'm even more surprised about that. I mean, I've not been around as long as you guys have, not been part of the group at long. But still, all this is just...amazing."

"And dangerous." Dustin admitted.

Suzie nodded. "Yeah. But still, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else, so long as I'm with you."

Dustin grinned at that. "I would gladly be anywhere with you too."

They kissed softly and finally, after a few more moments, the three couples joined together again and resumed their walk through the park, simply enjoying the fun day and grasping the levity while they could.

End of chapter, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
