Saphira smiled as she watched Chica put the cheese on the pizza that they had been making. Saphira had been in the kitchen for the last hour helping Chica, Toy Chica, Golden Bonnie, Phantom Chica and Nightmare Chica with prepping and cooking food for the celebration. Saphira taught the animatronics how to use the deep fryer for fries and fried chicken tenders, and she taught them how to cook using a pot as they made a simple carbonara to share. She had not taught them how to use the oven, though Toy Chica and Golden Bonnie were familiar due to the cakes and cupcakes in the bakery of the plaza. They did also make hot dogs and onion rings, as Saphira figured they would really enjoy those too.
"It looks good, Chica," Saphira complimented as she eyed off the pizza with a big smile on her face. "We have five pizzas and several garlic bread loaves to go into the oven, let's get them in, as the rest of the food will be finished before they will."
"I am excited to have fresh pizza," Chica said enthusiastically as she moved the pizza to the oven with the others. They had made margherita, pepperoni, plain cheese, ham and cheese, and supreme pizza. Saphira was looking forward to it. "I am even more excited to celebrate your graduation. I am curious though…" The animatronic turned her head to look at Saphira as the girl turned the oven on and set a timer. "It seems to me that school isn't so easy. I only noticed based on watching kids and teenagers do their homework while they are, they seem to be a little stressed."
Saphira did not know how to respond to Chica. "Well…it really depends on the subject that we are working on. Some subjects are easier to understand than others, but it also comes down to the person. For me, I didn't find it stressful once I started home schooling. It was at school I was stress."
"Because of the bullying?" Toy Chica asked, looking up from the pot in front of her. Saphira sighed and nodded. "Understandable. I guess that means you must have also gotten better at school when you decided to do home school."
"I would like to think that I did. I was able to understand the work I had to do better, I can definitely admit that. So I guess I did improve. But I have graduated and my hard work has paid off." Saphira smiled as she was very happy to say that. "You know, before I came back here, I didn't really care if I got a good score or had a party…I wouldn't have had a party, Roxy would steal that from me…so it is nice to actually have fun, and dance with my true friends." Toy Chica's smile widened as hearing that made her happy. Chica was also smiling with pride upon hearing that. "I am glad I came back."
"And we will make tonight the best party you have had in a long time!" Chica said enthusiastically as she walked over to hug Saphira. "Springtrap is going to be happy to see you singing and dancing along to the music, and eating the food we are preparing right now." She sniffed the air loudly as the aroma of the food was just divine. "Mmm…and it all smells so delicious. It's simple, but we aren't here to eat fancy food."
Golden Bonnie shook her head with a grin. "Indeed not." She pulled out the chicken tenders from the fryer and set them aside to drip and cool and grabbed some more to put into the deep fryer. "Personally, I think fancy food would be a bit overwhelming. We aren't exactly used to that. So simple food is just fine for us. But feel free to introduce us to things like that carbonara…" She looked at Toy Chica who was stirring the creamy, chicken pasta dish in the pot. "It looks simple, and it smells good. Plus, we know from observation, pasta is a favorite food for humans."
"For a lot of people, it is." Saphira looked at the food that was being cooked and prepared to be served and eating. "Pizza is still my favorite. Especially cheese and margherita." She winked at the animatronics as they listened to her happily. "I look forward to, hopefully, using a slow cooker. Maybe in my room, even if it will make my room smell like a beef roast for a long time."
"That sounds quite nice," Nightmare Chica commented, even though she had no idea what it was. "If only we would be satisfied on food, then trespassers wouldn't be our primary source. Oh well, at least we can enjoy tonight." Saphira shivered as she knew that would get brought up. "By the way, I know you don't want to speak of it, but that young man that you and Springtrap found before. He tried to stab you, right?"
"Yeah." Saphira nodded affirmatively, even though she knew she did not have an answer for them. "I am...still not sure if it was just the fact that he knew I was going to lock him in, or…well…this is going to sound weird…" She looked at the animatronics with a slight frown. "When he looked at me, he seemed to think of something before he charged at me. I am not sure if that means he knew me, but rather he came here for another reason."
"As in, you think he was set up to try and hurt you?" Chica asked her curiously.
Saphira shrugged. "Maybe…and I have a good idea who it might be. And it is not Afton. It would be Hayley." That confused the animatronics and she grimaced a moment as she knew she had to expand on why she thought that. "Um…it…was a few months after I left school…uh…"
"What is this that I am hearing?" Saphira flinched and turned her head as she was surprised to hear Springtrap's voice as he walked into the kitchen. "I happened to be following my nose after dealing with that young man before, and I hear what you were saying, Saphira." Springtrap looked at her curiously and she looked away from him. "I suppose it might explain why you are fearful when there are people who might attack you. But Hayley's name was not someone I thought I would hear. I assumed Afton was behind it."
She shook her head. "I don't know, it could be. But…I don't believe he has a reason for it. At least, I don't think so." She shivered as it was possible. "But it could be Hayley. She knows I work here. And…she has paid someone to hurt me before…she did it when I was teenager, and she probably will do it again. Though, unless she's already paid him, she at least can save her money."
Springtrap stared at her as he had not expected that. "Hold up…I thought your bullies stoped bothering you when you left."
She shrugged. "This did…only after what happened. I am pretty sure she wanted me dead, but that didn't happen either." She shivered as she thought more about it. "I…I…I guess it is the reason why I might still be a coward when it comes to facing people who are dangerous. I…I have a lot of trauma, Springtrap. I cope with it, but it also hurts a lot."
"What did she get this person to do to you?" Springtrap asked her curiously, and she shook her head, not wanting to talk about it anymore. "Saphira, you should tell us. I believe you should." She hummed a little as she thought about it. "I know, you've been through so much. It at least helps us learn to understand you better, Saphira. I don't want you to believe you can't trust us."
"Oh, I trust you, but…I mean…" Saphira went silent before she looked at Springtrap. "You yourself have a time in your past that you don't want to talk about." Springtrap tensed slightly as he knew exactly what she was talking about. "It's something that haunts you, follows you, like a terrible illness that never goes away. So as much as I want to tell you…actually, I have it in my journals. I can go and get it."
"No, no…" Springtrap gently stuck out his arm to stop her with a smile. "Okay, I admit that I need to stop being so protective. Anytime that I hear that you were hurt or scared, it makes me want to just…be here and feel like I am helping to protect you." She felt her heart fluttering as hearing that made her happy. "You don't need to bring that journal to me. Forget about it. We are meant to be celebrating. Or…" He glanced at the pizza ovens for a moment and looked back at Saphira. "Cheese pizza is still a favorite of yours, I see. I can smell it cooking."
She nodded excitedly. "Yes, it is! Oh!" She turned to check the timer and turned to Chica. "We can start taking things out to the tables, Chica. The pizza should be ready by the time we do that. I am curious to see what songs Freddy intends on picking to sing. Hopefully something from the eighties, that would be a lot of fun."
"Make a suggestion. He'll be happy to sing any song for you." Chica smiled as she grabbed a large bowl to bring over to Toy Chica so she could pour the carbonara into. "If you want a surprise, that is fine, but hopefully you will enjoy any song he sings."
"I am sure I will."
Saphira was very excited. She helped the animatronics bring the food out to the tables so that everyone could help themselves to the food and enjoy it. Saphira was happy that she could share that with them, as she knew if they were proper animatronics, they wouldn't be able to eat food. They would not eat humans either. Regardless, she was looking forward to having fun with them. She was looking forward to having fun with Springtrap in particular.
Once they brought all the food out, including the pizza and garlic bread, Saphira went over to the room controls to turn lights and disco ball on. Once they were turned on, Toy Chica and Foxy left to get the nightmare and phantom animatronics to come into the dining room so they would not miss out. As right now, they were likely feasting on the young man's body.
"Graduation." Springtrap walked up beside Saphira as she stood in the middle of the room with a smile and looked at him excitedly. "And you were…" He lifts his hand to show the height she used to be. "This big when you met me. It's hard to believe. I am so happy that you are here."
"And I hope you enjoy dancing." He grimaced and tilts his head with a smile. "I know…you were not that good at it, but dancing doesn't really need rules if we are just going to have fun. Don't worry, you shouldn't feel embarrassed." Springtrap shrugged as he did not know how to respond. She giggled and ran over to the stage, looking up at Freddy. "Freddy, I do have a song request."
"And what song will that be?" Freddy asked curiously. He was surprised when she gestured for him to lean down and he did so she could whisper the song to him. He glanced at Springtrap as the animatronic was standing a few feet behind, and he guessed she didn't want him to hear. "Okay, we can do that. This will be so much fun."
Springtrap eyed off Saphira as she nodded and turned to him with a big grin. Springtrap glanced at Freddy for a moment and looked back at her. "I didn't realize it would be a big secret. But I guess you must think it's secretive enough for that."
"Not really, but it's a lot of fun to not know the song straight away." She glanced at the door as the other animatronics finally enter the room, and she was super happy to see them. "Finally!" She smiled as she watched Toy Freddy and Toy Bonnie run over to the stage to climb on so they could be a part of the band too. "Let's get this party started!"
Freddy gestured to Golden Bonnie to get on the stage and Saphira giggled a little. Nightmare had been eyeing off the food and he walked over to her curiously. "All that food you have made smells really good. I am not sure what it will taste like, but I think it will be good to have something that isn't flesh and blood."
"I am sure you will enjoy it. Especially since we have to appreciate the effort that goes into preparing and cooking that food too," Springtrap said with a chuckle. "And to think some food humans eat takes hours to cook, and it gets eaten within a few short minutes. That's why we should appreciate the effort."
"I see…I had no idea." Nightmare had no idea that it can take a long time for human food to be cooked. "If that is the case, I will certainly appreciate it. It would be rude to disapprove of it. Plus it all smells good, and Saphira helped to make it, so I am confident it will be delicious." Nightmare's ears twitch slightly upon hearing the music suddenly play through the speakers around the room. "About time."
Saphira's smile widened upon hearing the song and she could not help but start to dance immediately, as the song itself was well known. She did notice that Golden Bonnie was holding the microphone, which she was not surprised, as the song she requested required a female singer. She was aware Golden Bonnie's voice was very nice to hear. And when the animatronic began to sing, Saphira turned to Springtrap and grabbed his hands to pull him towards the middle of the room to dance, even though Springtrap immediately became tense and uncomfortable.
'You can dance,
You can jive!
Having the time of your life.
Ooh, see that girl,
Watch that scene,
Digging the dancing queen.'
Springtrap watched as Saphira dancing in front of him. She was swaying her hips and moving her feet with a big grin on her face. She wasn't dancing anything specific, as she said, but she was having a good time. She turned her head as Chica held a plate with the cheese pizza out to her and Saphira quickly took two pieces to start eating while she kept dancing. Chica was happy and held the plate to Springtrap and he grabbed one slice to nibble on. He looked back at Saphira as she began to tap her feet and hum along to the song.
'Friday night and the lights are low,
Looking out for a place to go.
Where they play the right music,
Getting in the swing,
You come to look for a king.
Anybody could be that guy,
Night is young and the music's high.
With a bit of rock music,
Everything is fine,
You're in the mood for a dance,
And when you get the chance.
You are the dancing queen,
Young and sweet,
Only seventeen!
Dancing queen!
Feel the beat from the tambourine, oh yeah!
You can dance,
You can jive,
Having the time of your life.
Ooh, see that girl,
Watch that scene,
Digging the dancing queen!'
Springtrap relaxed a little as he began to tap his foot, and Saphira turned as she seemed to notice. She chuckled as she began to gesture for him to dance. He was still unsure, though he turned his head to see Toy Chica dancing with Mangle, Foxy, Phantom Bonnie, Phantom Chica and Nightmare Bonnie. It was interesting to him in the way they danced, even though they were also not really following specific dance moves. Springtrap never really danced because he just felt like it would make him look silly.
But as he finished eating the pizza slice he had, he began to sway his body a little more to the tune of the song and Saphira cheered excitedly when he began to dance. She actually could not help but blush, as while he wasn't a great dancer, she still found it cute and attractive. Springtrap's ears droop slightly from the embarrassment he was feeling from dancing, but seeing her literally light up upon seeing him dancing, that made him feel quite bashful and happy at the same time.
Seeing Springtrap relax, even if it was still embarrassing for him, made Saphira feel extremely happy. She was glad she could convince him to dance, and she was happy to just with him, even if it might look funny. The other animatronics glanced at both Saphira and Springtrap, and they all seemed to be happy to see the two were dancing and having a good time with each other. They all could see the glances that both Springtrap and Saphira were giving to each other as they danced. It made them happy to see them just being happy with each other.
'You're a teaser, you turn 'em on.
Leave 'em burning and then you're gone.
Looking out for another,
Anyone will do,
You're in the mood for a dance,
And when you get the chance.
You are the dancing queen,
Young and sweet,
Only seventeen!
Dancing queen!
Feel the beat from the tambourine, oh yeah!
You can dance,
You can jive,
Having the time of your life.
Ooh, see that girl,
Watch that scene,
Digging the dancing queen!
Digging the dancing queen!'
Springtrap smirked and leaned down to Saphira, making her flinch in surprise. "Does that make you me dancing queen, hmm?"
She could not help but blush at his question, feeling her face turn red, even though she was thankful the lights around the room that were bouncing off the disco ball might be helping to hide that. "Uh…I guess I am…I am the only one who is seventeen here."
Springtrap chuckled softly as she knew that was true. He was truly happy to celebrate the graduation with her. And seeing her enjoying the pizza as well to fill the hunger she was feeling after waking up brought joy to him. She walked over to the table to grab some chicken tenders, and Springtrap followed while the song was changed, and Golden Bonnie got off the stage. He felt a lot better now that he was not dancing, so he could enjoy the night casually with her, unless she wanted to keep dancing.
She turned to face Springtrap with a smile. "You should have something else, Springtrap. The others are enjoying the food, and I don't want you to miss out. I am still hungry myself, but I am going to get full very soon. So there will still be plenty to share."
"I will." Springtrap grabbed a hot dog and looked at her as she smiled at him. "By the way, is true that humans throw their graduation hats…or whatever they're called, when they get their certificates or something?"
"It is. I'll never get to experience that, but it looks like a lot of fun." She wasn't bothered by that fact, but she was curious why he brought it up. "There aren't any graduation caps around here, Springtrap. I am afraid I won't get the chance to through them. Don't worry, I am not missing out on much. I am surrounded by the best friends and family ever, and that is all I need."
Chica walked over to Saphira as she overheard her and placed her arm around the girl's shoulders. "Indeed, you are, Saphira. We are glad to fill that empty cup for you." Saphira wrapped her arm around Chica's back as a side hug, appreciating the animatronic's words to her. "As sweet as the idea is, Springtrap, I am sure that dancing under our disco ball is a lot better than throwing some special cap in the air. She's with the people she loves the most. I think that is worth a whole lot more than a simple cap throw."
"Aw, you're so sweet, Chica." She turned to hug her properly before stepping back to grab some garlic bread. She grabbed Springtrap's wrist and tugged to bring him back to the middle of the floor. "Let's go and dance some more, Springtrap. It was a lot of fun before, and I want to just keep on dancing."
Springtrap could not help but chuckle as he followed Saphira to the middle of the floor to dance with her. They were both quickly joined with Fredbear, Toy Chica, Nightmare, Nightmare Fredbear, Toy Foxy, Mangle, Foxy and Chica as they had all decided to just join in on the party. Saphira could not help but giggle as Springtrap was even more uncomfortable with how close the others were, and watched them dance while he stood awkwardly among them.
Freddy let out a loud chuckle as they changed the song again, and Saphira was surprised when they began to play the tune of Sweet Dreams, and she heard Golden Bonnie begin to sing the lyrics while she walked over to them to dance along with them. Saphira could not help but let out a cheer of excitement, and the animatronics joined in as they danced along. Freddy and Toy Freddy both jump off the stage to join in and Saphira giggled excitedly.
She turned to Springtrap, and she saw he was really shy about dancing. She stepped closer to him and wrapped her arms around him suddenly, making him look at her with wide eyes as it was unexpected. "Come on, Springtrap. Just dance a little. Even if you just sway your arms and body, you won't have to feel awkward. I know it's not your thing, but it's okay."
Springtrap's ears twitch a little as he considered it for a moment before he tilts his head a little and smirked at her. "Okay, I can give it a try. But you might want to turn around for a moment. I think I will surprise you."
Saphira did not know what he meant, but she trusted him so she lets him go and turned her back to him. She noticed the other animatronics look towards her as they were curiously, and she realized they could see what Springtrap was doing. She let out a shriek of surprise as she was suddenly lifted up and she felt her legs were placed over Springtrap's shoulders as he lifted her up to sit on his shoulders. She was so shocked, she accidentally grabbed his ears roughly, making him flinch a little, as she didn't realize they were sensitive.
She lowered her hands to the side of his head and leaned slightly to look down at him with a grin. "Okay, this is a surprise." She chuckled as she felt him started to dance a little and she was amused by it. "I guess as long as I am not too heavy, I guess this is okay."
Springtrap let out a low chuckle. "Heavy? Nah, you are quite light to me." She chuckled again as she guessed that was true since the animatronics were much stronger than she ever will be. "Might as well ensure that the spotlight is on you right now, Saphira." He then began to speak in a louder voice. "And we are all proud of our girl for graduating and nearing adulthood. We are glad that you came back."
Saphira felt happy tears in her eyes, but she managed to stop them from falling as the animatronics cheered and danced happily. She lifts one arm to pump in the air as Golden Bonnie continued to sing, which Saphira enjoyed thoroughly. She was happy that all the bad things that have happened up until now has been pushed back in her mind. She did not want to think of them at all tonight, and she was glad that she was able to spend time with the animatronics and dance with them in the main dining room, something she once wished for as a child.
Springtrap let her down when Golden Bonnie stopped singing, and Freddy began to sing Footloose afterwards. Saphira really enjoyed that song, and managed to get Springtrap to dance some more and he found himself having a lot of fun when she had him focus on dancing with her rather than dancing in front of the others. And that really made the night just extra special, and they would party for the rest of the night.
One of the Freddles was standing in the vent watching the party unfold. Afton was highly amused by the party he was witnessing, and had decided to let this slip as he didn't care if a party happens within the building or not. After all, he saw this as something that could help his plan be pushed forward. He observed Springtrap and Saphira, and he knew that things were going to go in his favor very quickly. And they had absolutely no idea of that fact.
