C12 Philosopher's Stone!... Eventually...

Tanya and Quirrell both drank the potion and crossed the flames that covered the door to a new room...

In the middle of construction...

The stone-walled room was quite obviously devoid of anything relevant. On the floor, several recently used engraving tools lay, some pillars had been engraved on the walls but some were yet to be finished, but other than that, there was nothing. There was absolutely nothing in that place.

Tanya walked slowly into the room with her wand raised, kicking a hammer out of the way as she looked from side to side with an expressionless face, then she stopped for a second, staring at the walls, and resisted the urge to let her ebony wand destroy everything. Curiously, the damned ebony wand seemed to be in a calm and serene mood, totally oblivious to the destructive feelings of its owner.

Tanya kicked the wall a few times in fury.

Quirrell had a dark face as he argued to himself searching from side to side of the room looking for something he might have missed.

"It's useless, there's nothing in this damn room, this place is either a trap or it's not finished yet," Tanya said as she leaned against the stone with a tired sigh and looked up at the cavernous ceiling of the room.

"It's... it's too obvious that this is a trap, even Dumbledore wouldn't be so... so... whatever this is, as to be a finished work, there's no way he would do something of this caliber and then he would simply store the stone somewhere else in the castle."

"And why are you so sure of that? It makes sense, if it were me, I would give a false clue as to where I kept that place to mislead the enemies of the real place where I kept it and perhaps lead them into a trap. Who in their right mind would so openly reveal the location of where I keep it? Is a stone that gives eternal life and transforms silver into gold! "Do not go near the third floor corridor" Who would have thought that such childish reverse psychology would manage to trap the great Quirrell and his bodymate Tom."

Quirrell's eyes flashed with a hint of madness for a second before calming down.

"You say it as if you weren't here with me."

"Oh, don't get me wrong, I fell completely into this trap at your side, this is also my fault, for not seeing the logic. After telling such an obvious lie, I thought for a few seconds that Dumbledore would be the type of person who would say in such an open way "Don't go to the third-floor corridor, I keep my treasures there" so than anyone with a bit of head and evil intents, would also believe that no one would be stupid enough to say exactly the location of what they keep, and therefore, they would search everywhere before the third-floor corridor, therefore the third-floor corridor should be the indicated place, the presence of a hidden room under the large three-headed dog only seemed to confirm it; but it appears that I came all the way around and end up falling into an obvious trap anyway."

Quirrell rolled his eyes, looking like he was about to make a disparaging comment when he suddenly fell off at the voice inside his head and said to Tanya. "However, that reasoning is undoubtedly something that Dumbledore has put thought into, however, there is one more layer missing from all this, something that is missing."

Quirrell walked to the center of the room. "One last test, everything else was a farce and this is where the last test is, something that shouldn't necessarily be in this room to work, and yet, once you get to the end, it's so confusing and unsatisfying that you lose sight of your real goal and end up thinking this place is a trap."

"Are you saying that the philosopher's stone is actually in this place?"

"No, while it is true that this half-finished room is lacking and confusing, there is a great lack of mystery and magic in this place, I sincerely doubt that Dumbledore is someone who would simply leave something half-finished, he is too of a show off to do that" Quirrell pointed his wand at a spot where he was standing. "The whole composition of the room indicates that there should be something here, something that would definitely catch your attention at first glance, the protagonist of the room..."

Tanya scratched her chin in thought. "And where is he then?

Quirrell frowned and when he was about to speak 5 house-elves suddenly appeared inside the room talking to each other.

Quirrell froze in place and prepared to attack them, but then, something struck the man with two faces, a voice, sweet and wise, an old voice that he recognized: Dumbledore's voice.

"Oh, little ones, it's good to see you arrived."

Quirrell turned around in panic, only to see that, where Tanya once stood, now stood a kind Dumbledore smiling peacefully.

The goblins seemed to panic for a few seconds.

"Mr. Principal! We didn't expect you here with everything that's going on with the troll up there" The tallest elf in the group spoke.

"Yes, however, I felt that someone had sneaked into this place and I decided to give it priority, that's why I brought Quirrell with me."

The goblin narrowed his eyes in suspicion while behind him the other four began to murmur among themselves.

"Someone snuck in... you say?

"Apparently they made their way to this room at the time when I was distracted by the safety of my students, by the time I realized and came here with Quirrell, there was no one here."

Some of the suspicion faded from the goblin's gaze before he glanced at Quirrell in passing doubt.

"Should we move the mirror, sir?"

'Dumbledore' blinked twice dazedly before shaking his head calmly.

"The mirror of Erised? No need, I'm pretty sure no one will be able to get the philosopher's stone out of it."

The goblin's eyes widened in panic. "S -sir! Are you sure it's safe to talk about that... here?"

A ghoulish smile unbecoming of Dumbledore appeared on his face for a moment before disappearing. "Why wouldn't it be safe to talk about it with my beloved defense against the dark arts professor? Anyway, I better hurry up and go back to the castle to deal with the troll, you guys, thank you for your good work, and keep up the good work."

Somewhat confused and full of suspicion, the goblins snapped their fingers and the tools lying on the floor began to move as if they were alive and to work on the stone walls of the room.

Quirrell and 'Dumbledore' hurried out of the room and hurried back the way they came.

"It seems that Dumbledore knows something about your bad intentions."

Quirrell smiled bitterly. "He suspects something, but I suppose seeing me here will partly confirm what I want, but not who I am. However, it seems you know more than I thought, tell me about this mirror of Erised. And the philosopher's stone."

Tanya, without dropping her illusion or her voice modifier, answered. "I found the mirror not far from the third-floor hallway when I was walking around at night on a reconnaissance mission. As soon as the house-elf mentioned a mirror, it came to mind and I decided to confirm it."

Quirrell smiled with satisfaction. "You have proven... to be more useful than I thought.

Tanya gave a dry laugh. "Thank you, however, I prefer my reward in the form of silver that I can convert into gold and a little of that immortality juice. Now, there is something peculiar about this mirror, it only shows you what you most desire and it is filled with complex magic that will protect the philosopher's stone much better than all the 'tests' we went through, on that topic, do you know Lucius Malfoy? I sent him a scroll with the magic of the mirror for his study so it's only a matter of time before he deciphers it."

Quirrell narrowed his eyes. "I'm going to need a copy myself as well as see the mirror in person."

"From the words of the goblins, it seems that they change its location constantly and it is possible that they put it in the room at the end eventually. Follow me, I will guide you to where I found him last time."

PoV Hermione Granger (Banquet in the Great Hall, 3 hours ago)

I-I... I can't believe I'm eating at the Slytherin table, and I can even less believe that I feel more accepted here than at my table, that is, if I don't take into account the sharp glances from the rest of the table. However, in this small corner of the table, sitting next to Tanya, can I call this a group of friends? Tanya said she was my friend so... And Neville, he still hasn't complained about me sitting on him the other day, maybe he likes me or something...

Crabbe and Goyle, helped me get into the Slytherin hall the other day and despite being pure blood they don't seem to discriminate against me, despite being a Gryffindor of muggle origin, I, I guess I'm appreciated for who I am here, the only person I'm a little uncomfortable with in this group is Draco... but I guess as a friend... Boyfriend? Not a chance, as Tanya's friend, he should be my friend too... on the other hand.

I looked at the Hufflepuff third year who was squeezing Neville's shoulder in a suspiciously warm manner even if they had just met. Who is he again? I think this little group just got involved out of nowhere, seriously, if you think you're someone who can just go wherever you want, why aren't you in Gryffindor or Slytherin? Almost as if reading my thoughts the boy directed his dazzling smile in my direction, blinding me in the process.

"Cedric Diggory, the one who is destined to be the prefect of Hufflepuff, a pleasure to meet you."

He extended his hand and I took it cautiously, he then took my hand and kissed it before smiling at me again.

I screamed, I screamed internally very loudly.

Luckily, Quirrell arrived to announce the arrival of a troll to the dungeons, I never would have imagined that I would feel so happy about such a catastrophic event.

The prefects followed the orders of the professors and Dumbledore and tried to take us to our common rooms...

Of course, not everything was going to turn out so well.

While Percy was distracted Ron cast a petrification curse and with Harry's help, they took me to an empty classroom where they undid the curse, the perfect opportunity to put Tanya's training to use to defeat a wizard even without a wand...

In a many-against-one situation it is best to attack one by one with speed and precision before they can overwhelm you with numbers; First, use a knife or a pen to attack the eyes or neck...

No, no, no, definitely not, I'm not even going to- to-! Kill these idiots!

If you don't have any weapons at hand, it's still a good idea to go for the eyes, but in a situation where you're fighting, especially against men, a low blow with enough force behind it is perfect for nullifying an opponent, that is. most likely they will writhe on the floor crying like babies while, deep in their minds, something breaks knowing that they will never be able to father offspring again...

Tanya! Stop teaching me these things, you're corrupting my mind! How do you know all this to begin with? What kind of house did you live in that you had to learn all this, were your parents crazy or something? Are they professional fighters or mercenaries?! We are just 11!

"So... sorry for the curse earlier, but considering you're being mind-controlled by Tanya we couldn't trust you not to make a fuss when we just want to talk..." Harry said.

I looked at him with confusion and hatred.

A good blow to the solar plexus can stun or break some bones, a blow to the liver can stun someone, the best way to knock someone out is a blow to the neck, a jab to someone's chin with enough force and they will be seeing stars. In need, a naked rear choke is perfect for punishing your rival and if you hold it long enough with good technique you can not only make them lose consciousness but also send them to the afterlife...

"I-I'm not being controlled by Tanya, I-I don't know what you're talking about."

"Oh, come on Hermione, did you think we wouldn't notice?" It's too suspicious! You must be under a curse or something, maybe even dark magic!"

"Wasly, you are the only one who has cursed me during my stay at Hogwarts, not only that but you also attacked me from behind."

"T-that's... We just want to talk to you and rescue you from that snake's control!"

"'That snake' is my best friend, besides I have nothing to talk to you about. And you Harry, I thought you would know better, but in the end, you are just as unpleasant as the little mister 'attacked girls from behind because I'm jealous and I don't want them to have friends'."

Unable to hold back some tears that came out of my eyes as I said that, Harry looked at his feet, embarrassed and doubtful, his posture reminded me of Neville, however, Neville had been filled with so much confidence lately, and his muscles had also begun to grow. Before I knew it, Neville had become much more worthy in my eyes than the two boys in front of me.

"Dark magic, what a joke! There's no way Tanya would be interested in something like that! And even if it was, she wouldn't use it on her friends, she trusts us to keep her secrets."

Ron got angry at my words "She's a Slytherin! A rich, smelly, daddy's daughter who only plays nice as they all are, and as they all do, she is using you!"

Unable to take it anymore, I hit Ron in the face with my elbow as Tanya thought me to. "You, you! Why are you so bad?! Do you hate Slytherins that much?! What did they do to you?! What did Tanya do to you?!"

Harry rushed to grab Ron who staggered, blood pouring from his nose in droves.

"Ron ! What- What are you doing Hermione?!"

Ron growled profusely before reaching for his wand and raising it in my direction. I panicked for a few seconds searching my pockets for my wand, thinking about some protection spell.

However, at that moment someone snuck up behind Ron and put a chokehold on him, my eyes widened when I noticed that Neville. Harry hit Neville's arms to make him let Ron go, but Neville just tightened the key, Ron struggled to free himself but it was impossible. His face started to turn red quite quickly, then I saw him take his wand and stab it in Neville's eyes.

I raised my wand and shouted. "Rictusempra."

Ron began to convulse on the floor, letting out terrifying laughter throughout the empty room.

Harry made to take out his wand too but I pointed my wand at him. "Petrificus Totalus."

He lost his balance and fell to the ground petrified next to Ron, I quickly looked at Neville and noticed blood running down his cheek.

"Neville! Oh my god, we have to get you to the infirmary."

Neville blinked his healthy eye for a second, touched the blood dripping from his wounded eye, looked intently for a couple of seconds, and then passed out.

I can't help but let out a little scream and run out of the room, I have to find Professor Pomfrey, I ran at full speed through the corridors only to realize that I was lost, I-I, my mind, have to calm down a little, Hermione you need to breathe, breathe slowly and look around you, look for where you are and try to locate a reference point, you need to find the infirmary.

I'm... where am I? Near the dungeons, maybe I can find a prefect, a shiver ran down my spine as I thought if there was magic that could regenerate an eye...

While looking for someone to help me, I bumped into someone after crossing a corner, rubbing my head, I looked up and frowned for a second before relaxing my expression.

"Draco, I need your help, Neville is hurt. Ron stabbed him in the eye with a wand."

Draco looked disgusted for a second, before putting on a confused look.

"Longbottom got into a fight with Weasley and took a wand to the eye?"

"Something like that, the point is that he needs a nurse, he was bleeding profusely."

I saw Draco make a sour face for a moment before sighing.

"By any chance, do you know where Tanya, Crabbe, and Goyle are? All three recently disappeared."

I blinked in confusion. "Why would Tanya sneak off with a troll on the loose? Do you think that?..."

Draco shook his head. "She wouldn't do something so blatantly dangerous and noticeable in front of the teachers. Ah, anyway, let's go pick up Neville, it will be faster to take him to the infirmary, especially with a troll loose in the castle."

I froze on the spot, having completely forgotten there was a troll on the loose after the argument and all the blood.

With a bad feeling inside me, I hurried along with Draco towards the empty room where... everything happened. However, a putrid smell caught my attention.

"Duck!"

Following Draco's orders I hid behind a corner only to see over the curb the large staggering figure of a green-skinned troll walking down the hallway sniffing, its dirty nose moving in the air with such a repulsive movement, a disgusting smile on its face. His face is devoid of any intelligence as he- the- the bastard followed the scent of blood into the room with the prominent sound of a person laughing.

"My God, the spell is still affecting him..."

I stood up with my wand in hand ready to go on the attack only to feel Draco's hand grabbing me and not letting go.

"What do you think you're doing?"

"Neville is in there, I can't let him..."

A loud sound was heard from inside the room suddenly Ron's laughter stopped, I felt the strength leave my knees but I forced myself out of it shaking Draco's hand off of me and going straight into the room.

"Hey, you! Monster, mess with someone your size! Rictusempra!"

The troll, more annoyed by my voice than by the spell that hit him, scratched his back lazily before turning to me and belching, making me nauseous.

M-magic... trolls are resistant to it...

His long legs allowed him to close the distance quickly and he raised his club into the air.

"Hey ! React!"

After hearing Draco's voice I raised my wand towards his club and screamed. "Reducto!"

The troll swung his club at me but it broke in two halfway, with half the length of his club I received a very light blow on my outstretched arm but I dropped the wand by mistake.

My hand felt throbbing from the blow as I watched the troll scratch his head and look at his club in confusion, almost looking like he was asking himself if it was always so short.

I gritted my teeth and looked at Draco who was still outside the room. "Don't just stand still, go get help!"

I heard the troll's footsteps getting a little closer.

Remember Hermione, never take your eyes off your enemy.

It was too late, the troll raised the mace broken in two again. I jumped to the side and crashed into a stool but narrowly dodged the blow. This time the troll seemed annoyed at having failed twice and didn't take long to run towards me.

When facing a larger enemy it is important to make him lose his balance, attack the Achilles tendon with something sharp or the knee joint.

Damn Tanya, I don't have anything sharp with me, looking for something around me to use as a weapon I find a musical instrument and with it in hand, I approach the angry Troll.

His eyes are too far away, so I have to hurry up and attack that other thing... Putting all the strength I could, he aimed at the gap between the troll's legs and swung the instrument.

I hear the sound of something soft exploding and a loud cry of pain from the troll leaves a ringing in my ears, the troll collapses to the ground, luckily, we were far enough away so that it didn't fall on Neville and the others.

When your enemy is on the ground, press your knee against the top of her back while you choke her to take control of the fight.

I quickly approached the fallen troll and passed the instrument over its neck while stepping on its back.

Remember, the trick when it comes to choking someone is to cut off the circulation of the carotid artery, not their breathing.

I put the instrument aside and instead took off my cloak and wrapped it around his neck, then pulled hard.

The troll's pained moans suddenly turned into muffled sounds as I pulled hard.

10 seconds is all it takes for a human to lose consciousness with a perfect technique, but usually people resist so unless you have perfect control over them, you'll usually have to fight a lot longer unless you can break their neck, which by the way you can do by...

I growled as I tightened my grip, decision in my mind. The troll struggled on the ground for a few moments, before trying to push me off of him with his arm, but I was in an unreachable spot, not only was I speeding up the process with my legs on his back by doing leverage, but I also gained the ability to restrict your movement. I pulled even harder, but the troll still wouldn't give up, I leaned back using even more leverage and the troll moaned louder before trying to stand up.

I felt myself lose my balance but I held on to the troll's back while using my weight to increase the pressure.

The troll staggered from side to side with less force behind him, crashing into the walls of the classroom, I felt my hands aching from the effort and I heard the fabric of my clothes slowly tearing and I cursed out loud, 60 seconds had already passed! fall once and for all, please.

The troll, true to his intelligence, did not attempt to remove the cloth from his neck but instead swung his halved club from side to side before finally collapsing backward.

"Ah! "

Right on my legs.

I felt the need to loosen my grip and get the troll off of me.

Leaving aside the issue of breaking the neck, if you let go of someone just as they lose consciousness they will probably just come back after a few seconds, but if you continue the hold for too long it is possible to cause severe brain damage and even death...

I pulled and pulled, and kept pulling, as I felt the pain course through my body and cloud my mind...

Until everything finally ended when the classroom door opened and Professor McGonagall entered, only then did I allow myself to relax my grip and try to get the monster off of me.

"Oh, Merlin's beard! What happened here? Granger! That-?"

"My legs..."

"Oh Merlin, that around the troll's neck... Granger, you have a lot to explain but first let's get this away from you"

I felt several tears fall from the sides of my eyes.

"Neville and Ron..."

"Draco informed me about it, Poppy is on her way, let me help you with the troll."

McGonagall's wand he moved the body of the troll on top and I felt another wave of pain run through me, as soon as I looked down I looked at my legs in the wrong direction...

I felt a wave of nausea and the next thing I knew everything went black.

Author's Note.

So... it took me a long time to update... sorry! I've been busy with... vacations... and school... and reading fanfics ...

But here is finally the new chapter! and hopefully, the next one will be out in less than a month XD.

On another note, the Mirror of Erised wasn't put under the trap door until after Christmas so basically if you get there before it's a very lol experience.

On the other hand, I realize that I forgot to put the troll test in the trap door tests, but well, let's imagine that that troll is the one who escaped on Halloween. On the other hand, Dumbledore suspected Quirrell from the beginning and put Snape to keep an eye on it... I wonder what will happen with that :)

As for the troll, I spent more time than I'd like to admit searching how long it takes for someone to pass out from being choked the right way and now my search history is full of suspicious things... I mean, more suspicious than usual.

Still, maybe it's a bit of a stretch that Hermione can handle the troll considering she doesn't have much physical training and has the weight of an 11-year-old girl, trolls aren't particularly easy to kill... but it's just so epic and completely something so Gryffindor to do. On another note... I'm not giving Ron and Harry very good treatment in this fic, but in their first year Ron was an insufferable child and Harry was quite submissive despite everything, but since this fic is a little more from the villainous Tanya side I'm taking the liberty of doing their worst sides little bit. And how couldn't be otherwise I ended up exaggerating it.

Going back to Hermione and the troll... I got total Goblin Slayer inspiration so I had to do it.

Next Chapter "Hermione Troll Slayer " (maybe)
