Part 8: Getting Caught
Welcome to the boiling point, in which Roman and Tracy deal with the aftermath of their Overnight Sleepover. That, and Roman slowly tries to process his newfound attraction towards his longtime friend.
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters from Lab Rats, Mighty Med, Lab Rats: Elite Force, or Johan and Julie from Waktu Rehat. I only own my Original Characters. With that being said, enjoy this chaotic story.
Day 3, Morning
"Roman, wake up, it's breakfast time!" Riker was tasked to wake up his brother, but he's nowhere to be found!
"Oh no! Roman's run off to join the circus! I always thought he should have a better sense of humor, but this is crazy!" Once again, he jumped to the least possible conclusion.
"Dad, I can't find Roman." Riker went out to find the adults.
"Oh I'm sure he went out for a jog." Rodissius replied, setting up the table outside.
"Jones, could you wake up your sister?" Frank looked at his son.
"Sis, wake up! Time for breakfast." Jones shouted as he headed up to his sister's loft.
"What's wrong, Jo?" Riker headed over to check, as they all froze in place.
Up in the loft were Roman and Tracy still sleeping and locked in a loving embrace.
"Well, mom and dad won't be happy." Spin muttered out loud.
Rory wasted no time to whip out his camera to take a picture of his oldest brother.
"That one's going into the wedding album." Rainey nodded approvingly.
"MOM, DAD, UNCLE RODI~" Jones wasted no time ratting out his older sister.
"Popcorn?" Ricky held out a bag of popcorn to the person beside him.
"Yes please." Regina raised her hand.
"Where'd you get the popcorn? It's 8 in the morning." Spin wondered out loud.
"We stashed emergency snacks all over the place," Ranger replied, accepting some popcorn from his younger brother.
The sleeping (snuggling) teens started to stir and wake up.
"Oh no, Ro?" Tracy opened her eyes and realized they were not alone. Roman was cuddling her in his sleep. His right hand was cradling the back of her head, and his left hand was tightly wrapped around her waist. She tries to push herself away from Roman's arms.
"Not now..." He nuzzled into her hair, pulling his 'body pillow' closer into his arms. It was way too early for this. He was on his semester break, for crying out loud!
"Ro, we overslept!" Tracy whispered in a panicked tone. And it's not because Roman's snuggling her so close that she could feel his breath.
Or the fact that she could feel his strong arms around her. Were his biceps always this muscular? Nope, it's too early for these kinds of thoughts!
Wait, this doesn't feel like his body pillow. It's warmer somehow. More...squishy? Do body pillows have hair? Why does the body pillow smell like Tracy?
His eyes snapped wide open. He saw himself cuddling Tracy in an embrace and realized how close their faces were. Then, to his immense horror, he turned around and saw THE REST OF THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS watching.
It really doesn't help that the nosier twins (Remus and Romulus) were using each other as a human stepladder to peek through the RV's windows.
"Is she wearing Roman's old shirt?" Romulus pointed out.
Roman yelped in shock, bolting upright and banging his head against the loft ceiling with a loud 'Crack'.
That's gonna leave a dent!
"Please tell me you two have a good explanation for this." Doris had an exasperated look on her face.
"Had a good night, I assume?" Reese teased.
Riker took a very deep breath before he commented, "Ro, I know you're fond of Tracy, but you really need to have better self-control in these kinds of situations."
"Right above my bed too?" Bob looked disgusted.
One thing is for certain: their whole families will NEVER gonna live this one down for a very long time.
And so, they had to spend the rest of their trip explaining what actually happened and what DID NOT happen.
Also, Frank and Doris had to give their firstborn 'The Talk' (since it was Tracy's idea to sneak Roman into her loft despite what didn't happen), much to the teen's immense mortification. Roman's on the similar receiving end with his dad, but unlike her parents, Rodissius seemed fairly proud of his son 'taking that leap in romance'.
"Dad, she's 17, I'm 20!" Roman exclaimed, before glancing over at Tracy looking embarrassed by whatever her parents are telling her.
"Well you've manifested a child into reality already-" Rodissius held a glittery framed picture of January (a Bionic baby Roman and Tracy had found when Krane's whole soldiers were discovered) hanging on the fridge.
"For the last time, January is not our actual daughter!" Roman groaned out loud, his face burning redder each minute. "And the most impossible scenario that she is, it meant I got Tracy pregnant when she was 16. And I am NOT going to jail today!"
Roman is more grossed out at the mere implications of having...a physical relationship with his younger friend. Sure, she's funny, and nice, and has the prettiest brown eyes, and soft lips, and attractive collarbo-NOPE, NOT GOING INTO THAT TERRITORY!
And with that, Roman slapped himself hard across the face before that innocent train of thought could rail into the PG13 area.
"Why'd you slap yourself?" Ricky asked, concerned.
"Mosquito." He lied, his face still bright red.
"I wouldn't love January any less even if she's not related by blood." and his dad isn't listening anymore.
"Time travel is possible, and we haven't taken a DNA test yet." Riker chimed in, as their dad nodded thoughtfully.
"You're right, son. You should wait for at least another year until any romance could progress." Rodissius decided.
"Dad, why are you like this?" Roman resisted the urge to smack his head against the wall.
"Oh, and Frankie also needs to have a word with you." Rodissius remembered.
Roman glanced over and saw the older couple.
Aunt Doris looked outright concerned (because they all found Roman snuggling with their teenage daughter) but Uncle Frank...something about his eerily calm attitude scaredRoman.
Unfortunately, the parents also left the stove unattended for too long that Rainey (residential Lethal Chef) took initiative to cook breakfast.
Short to say, everyone spent the rest of the day dealing with food poisoning.
Everyone was already figuring out that something was happening between Roman and Tracy. From being each other's seatmates to not-so-subtly complimenting (flirting with) each other, they've always been antisocial dorks.
NOTHING prepared them for finding out Tracy had apparently invited Roman up to her loft to sleep.
They were cuddling each other so close; you'd have thought that they were lovers.
In Frank's eyes, he saw something completely different (and may be misinterpreted differently with how close Tracy and Roman were cuddling) and it solidifies his fears that his daughter is growing up. In his and Doris' viewpoint, Roman's hand was getting a bit too low beneath Tracy's waist.
If they hadn't believed that Rocy could be a couple in the future, the proof is right here! Caught in a 4K picture by Rory's camera truly. The camera was the true MVP of the road trip.
To be fair, it could've been much worse. Why, you ask?
Roman tends to sleep shirtless at home. Put the math together in the Alternate Scenario, and Roman would've been one dead man.
Haha, we've reached the Aftermath of the Midnight Sleepover. And yes, now comes Roman's dumb pining stage for his childhood friend (plus doing his best to hide those feelings) AND the family members all poking fun at the incident.
Chapter Talk: -
(1.) Roman and Tracy are both cuddlers in their sleep. And Roman is clearly the clingier one out of the two. To be fair, he gets a double dose of Hopeless Romantic genes from both his parents (all the Andrews kids do, actually) so he's just more affectionate around his crush.
(2.) Since Roman fell first, he's now realizing he pays a little bit too much attention to his childhood friend. From her familiar eating habits to the way her hair smells. He now realizes he's looking at her through Crush Lenses and also smacks himself just in case.
(3.) Rodi just REALLY wants grandkids. He puts up pictures of January all over the house (mainly in front of Roman's room) to prove a point. Frank's smacking him upside the head from pressuring Roman (and Tracy) for babies too early. Frank's reeling from new feelings after seeing his daughter sleeping with Roman (not in the way you'd think).
(4.) Also, yes. Roman sleeps shirtless at home. Yeah...it's a smart move for Roman to sleep with a shirt on this 3-day trip or else not even they can come up with a decent excuse.
(5.) The only variant of Rocy that'd be sappier/more awkward than Unmasked! Rocy is Same Age AU. Yes, that AU exists in an Unmasked AU variant, in which Roman, Riker and Reese had been born as Triplets and are all closer in age to Tracy. Same Age AU would have Rocy somehow awkwardly (and painfully) pining after each other throughout the years. [Yes, I will cover that as a one-shot later on. It will be in my other Rocy Multiverse one-shot series.]
~ This AU also unfortunately decks Remus, Romulus and the Triplets as Quintuplets (Rina never stopped yelling at Rodi in that timeline mid-labor).
~ This involves a 6 year old Roman innocently asking his mom "do babies come from kissing?" when he kissed Tracy at the park earlier that evening
And that's all for now, thanks so much for reading. Feel free to leave a comment down below and let me know your thoughts. See you in the next update and have a fantastic day.
