Chapter 8
Kurt still had trouble believing in magic, so every time it came up it startled him. Blaine, Scrap and Inkspot thought it was funny, and took great enjoyment out of it.
As Blaine took care of the land and house, Kurt was trying to get all the furniture for their new home. Burt and Carole loved the home and offered to get them a master bedroom set as their wedding gift. Kurt wanted everything to be just right, so it was a slow process so far. They still had a bit of time until they officially moved in though. Valentine's was still a month away.
Kurt had moved his shop into the basement of the house, it was a bigger area, with a bathroom and several changing rooms. Brittany and Tina were excited about the impending wedding and nervously worked on the wedding outfits while Kurt dealt with some of the steady stream of customers that continued to pour in. He was getting word of mouth from the clients Blaine had brought in and was really hopeful that he might be able to have a successful business and have people excited about his talent and creativity.
Blaine loved the new home, he could feel his magic in every nook and cranny and it made it feel like a real home to him. Not the cold environment of his parents home. Speaking of his parents, he needed to pop home and move all his stuff into the new house. No sense putting it off. He snapped his fingers and appeared in his bedroom. He looked around and sighed. He set up some empty cardboard boxes and started piling his mementos and keepsakes. In the middle of packing his father appeared.
"Where do you think you're going?" he demanded.
"I've got a home now, so packing up my things to get out of your hair." Blaine said.
"A home? I didn't tell you it was okay to move."
"I'm going to live with my boyfriend, and, uh, we are getting married." Blaine stuttered out.
"Married! To that mortal! Have you lost your senses completely?" he demanded.
"Well, I guess I have to be honest, I'm madly in love and have found someone to spend my life with, so deliriously in love."
"You can't marry that commoner, what will people say? Our reputation will be ruined."
"Father, I'm happy and that should be important to you. I don't care what other people think or say, you've made it so I haven't been able to have any friends or peers in our community, so I can't imagine why anyone would care what I do with my life." Blaine vented his frustration.
"You'll be breaking your mothers heart!"
"I've already talked to her, making her promise to accept my marriage and not try to kill my husband."
"Husband! Are you already married?"
"No, but the wedding is soon and nothing is going to stop it, or I will be very, very unhappy with any one who tries." Blaine glares at his father.
A thunder and lightning storm breaks out over the house and with a flourish Blaine's father is gone.
Blaine sighs and goes back to packing up his things. Once he is done he realizes he has only a few boxes of things to represent his childhood and teen years. He intends to rectify that with Kurt, building memories and mementos of their life together.
He snaps his finger and all his boxes appear in what will be their eventual bedroom and he starts hanging up everything in his closet. They don't have the bedroom set yet so he doesn't have a bureau to put his underwear and socks in, so he just lines those boxes along the wall. He leaves his mementos in boxes stacked in the corner to sort out later.
With that completed, he goes down to the basement level to see how Kurt and his assistants are making out.
Kurt and Blaine had talked and as neither of them had been sexually active before being together, they decided it was safe to stop using condoms. They had christened their new bed set multiple times soon after it arrived and couldn't seem to get enough of each other. They had tried different positions, and even looked at some things online that made their eyes bug out.
Blaine was a deep shade of red as they looked at a variety of sex sites and descriptions of activities. "Oh my god!" he kept repeating.
Kurt was equally embarrassed and kept looking away before feeling his eyes drawn to the next thing on screen. "This is horrifying in so many ways."
"We can stop looking," Blaine offered.
"No, we both agreed we wanted to have full and satisfying sex lives and should be open to discussing anything kinky. I just had no idea about so many of these things," Kurt blushed again.
"Is there anything you've seen you'd be interested in exploring?" Blaine asked.
"There are definitely several things I never want to hear about again," Kurt exclaimed.
"I think we should make a list of things that sound interesting, even if you'd consider it your limit and then we can talk about them together."
"Sounds like a plan to me."
Kurt was getting nervous, their wedding was only a couple weeks away. What if Blaine changed his mind? He wanted everything to be perfect, but perfect by human standards. Maybe he was obsessing too much over things? Was he driving Blaine away?
"Kurt! Your stressing so much is giving me a headache and ruining my cat nap! What are you so worried about?" Scrap asked, jumping up on the table.
"What if Blaine changes his mind? I'm only a mortal, what if I'm not enough for him?" Kurt vented.
Scrap rolled his eyes before staring at Kurt, "Do you really think that's possible? He's so in love with you, he would do almost anything to be with you."
"What about his parents? They could disintegrate me, or drop me in Siberia," Kurt gasped thinking about it.
"You know very well that Blaine would find you no matter what they tried to do, Inkspot and I are part of your family too, we will protect you,"
"After all, there aren't many I can tolerate, and now that your dreams aren't always so sexual, I've gotten used to you," Scrap teased.
"Scrap!" Kurt blushed.
"At least you and Blaine looked at things online that have been in your dreams."
"What am I going to do with you?" Kurt whined, blushing again.
"Worship me, as anyone in their right mind should do," Scrap stated, jumping down and heading back to his nap.
"Kuuurrtttt…. Why is scrap sending me these images of us doing kinky things?" Blaine called from across the house.
Kurt screamed in frustration. "Scraaaapppp, you are dead meat, puss!"
Blaine's phone was ringing, but he wasn't sure where it was in the house, as he roamed around looking Kurt appeared with it in his hand. "Why is my dad calling you?"
Blaine looked surprised, "I've no idea."
"Hey kid, it's me, Burt."
"Hello Burt, this is a nice surprise. What's going on?"
"I wanted to talk to you before the wedding, I know you kids are basically already living together but…well, I wanted to discuss a few things with you."
"Ok, let me see when Kurt is free."
"No, no, just you and me, not Kurt."
"Oh, am I in trouble? Did I do something wrong Mr. Hummel?" Blaine stammered.
"You know it's always Burt, and of course you didn't do anything wrong. I know you aren't close to your father and I, well, I feel like your dad in a lot of ways, and I thought we should have a talk about marriage and all that stuff, before your's. In case you had questions, or were concerned about anything."
Blaine sunk down on the chair in front of him in shock. "Really? You want to give me a father-son talk?" Blaine said with tears rolling down his eyes.
"Well of course, you are part of this family, you have been for a while now, and I want to make sure you know you can always talk to me about things. Well, I - I love you son." Burt stammered out.
Blaine started crying fully at that point.
"Blaine, are you okay?" Burt asked.
"How did I get so lucky? To be welcomed into a family as loving as your's?"
"We know things can be taken away suddenly, so when we see someone special like you, who loves my boy like you do, well, we want you to feel loved and appreciated for who you are."
"Wow, I'd be honored to get your thoughts and advice on being married, Burt."
They set up some time to chat and Burt disconnected.
Kurt was lurking in the shadows, "Are you okay B? I couldn't help but hear you crying."
"Your dad is like the best dad ever created," Blaine said, still shocked.
"He's awesome, but he's always adapting and learning; he's had to roll with the punches, losing my mom early, me being gay, it toughened us up and made us men," Kurt said with obvious pride.
"You all, Carole included, are the best things that have happened to me."
Scrap was in their heads suddenly, "Excuse me?"
Kurt and Blaine started laughing. "I meant besides you and Inkspot, Scrap."
"Of course you did," Scrap sending the sting of judgment through his thoughts.
Instead of bachelor parties, Kurt and Blaine had opted for a relaxing night with friends and family. They had karaoke and board games and finger foods all over. Tina had brought her boyfriend, Artie, and Brittany had brought her girlfriend, and her cat.
Blaine looked at Kurt quizzically when Brittany rang the doorbell and had her cat in her arms. "Lord Tumbington always loves a party. Brittany's girlfriend, Santana, just smirked and shook her head as they entered the house.
Blaine was in shock, his neighbor Santana was Brittany's girlfriend! She looked like the cat who got the canary as she looked at Blaine and winked.
Burt and Carole had arrived early and helped set everything up.
Kurt was so excited when his friend, Mercedes, had arrived a few days before and planned to be there through the wedding. She was even going to sing a song she wrote for them.
Everyone seemed to be there, but suddenly there was another ring of the doorbell, but it played God Save the Queen. Puzzled, Blaine opened the door to find his mother on the steps!
"Mom! Oh my God! I didn't think you'd come," Blaine stumbled over his words as he realized what he said and gasped.
"Of course I want to be here darling," she said a bit snootily, she had brought her brother, Jesse too.
"Uncle Jesse! It's so good to see you," Blaine wrapped him in a bear hug.
"Blaine! You are positively glowing, how is married life treating you? Finally getting some I see," Jesse teased Blaine with a wink.
Blaine blushed deeply and stammered, not sure what to say.
Kurt came up and rescued him, introducing himself to Jesse and they both finally entered the house. Once Blaine took his mother's wrap they wandered over to the drinks table and suddenly bright alcoholic drinks appeared in their hands.
Kurt introduced his parents to Pam and Jesse after a bit. Pam had been behaving herself, mostly, in her interactions with the guests while remaining aloof.
Jesse on the other hand was fast becoming the life of the party, encouraging others to drink more, sing karaoke and make fools of themselves a bit. After a while of that, he took the microphone and stood on stage.
"Hello everyone, tonight we are here to celebrate Kurt and Blaine's upcoming wedding." Everyone cheered at that.
"As a special gift I've arranged a surprise for them. With a flourish of his hand and a burst of light who should appear on the stage but Idina Mendel and Kristen Chenowith! Everyone gasped in shock.
They proceeded to perform songs from Wicked and brought down the house.
Blaine pulled Jesse aside, "how did you manage that?"
"Blaine, I know lots of famous witches, these lovely ladies have turned their powers to performing and love the spotlight."
"You mean, they are actual witches like us?" Blaine gasped.
"Of course, lots of Hollywood and Broadway are filled with talented witches."
Kurt was exhausted and still stunned over the surprise guests. He'd dreamed of meeting them some day.
Everyone had gone and Kurt and Blaine were trying to clean up. "Gosh, I'm exhausted," Kurt said as his jaw threatened to split with a huge yawn.
"Why don't you go up to bed? I can finish the clean-up," Blaine told him with a shooing motion.
"I can't leave all this work for you to do alone," Kurt insisted.
"Well, I wasn't going to do it alone," Blaine waggled his eyebrows at Kurt.
"What do you mean?" Kurt asked, totally confused.
"I mean, I was going to let my fingers do the work for us," Blaine smirked.
Realization dawned on Kurt. "We shouldn't do that."
"Why not, it's not hurting anyone and would help us both tremendously?" Blaine asked Kurt seriously.
Kurt thought about his response for a minute, "you know, you're right, I don't want to rely on your magic all the time, but it's now part of my life and I've got to get used to it." He leaned over and kissed Blaine to cement his decision.
"Watch the magic fingers," Blaine smirked as he snapped his fingers and every bit of leftover food and trash exploded and rained slowly down on them, a multi-colored rainbow effect of grossness.
Kurt stood there speechless before turning to face Blaine.
"Very funny mister, but I don't think I could clean this up without professional cleaners," Kurt looked at Blaine, who was looking around the room stunned.
"My powers haven't misfired like that in years. I don't understand," he said, completely bewildered.
"Let me try again," Blaine looked determinedly at everything, took a deep breath and snapped his fingers hard. Nothing happened that time. He looked at his fingers and gasped.
Kurt rubbed his shoulders, "it's okay, breathe, you are probably so stressed from the wedding plans. Take a minute to settle yourself, I know you can do this."
Blaine relaxed into Kurt's magic hands and closed his eyes for a couple minutes before opening them and squaring his shoulders. "Ok, I am going to do this now."
Once more, he snapped his fingers and everything started to slowly float up off the floors, ceiling and surfaces. It bounced through the air and out into the proper receptacles outside their house. The house was spotless once again, not even a trace of dust was showing.
Kurt hugged him from behind, "I knew you had it in you, you deserve a reward for all that," he said, breathily into his ear.
Blaine trembled with lust, turned and mashed his lips against Kurt's in a passionate kiss. They managed to eventually stumble upstairs to their bedroom and have hours of sweaty fun.
Blaine woke up suddenly, he clutched his stomach before bolting for the bathroom and throwing up. Kneeling over the bowl, he retched until only bile was left.
Kurt came in behind him rubbing his shoulders.
"Are you okay?"
Blaine took a few moments to assess himself. "I think so, no idea what caused that though."
"You've had a lot of stress with the wedding plans, all the energy you put into making our home, it's bound to affect your system eventually."
Blaine dragged himself up and rinsed out his mouth.
