(Third person POV)

Many things have changed throughout the castle and in Hell just in general. Throughout the halls you could hear the giggles of a newborn or the soft voice of its mother humming a lullaby to calm her cries down. Claire and Sam knew that lullaby right away, seeing as it was from one of their favorite Disney movies. The lullaby was called, "Baby of Mine." Even the council members had eventually gotten used to it, so Rose was excused on many occasions so as she could tend to her newborn or just brought her in during the meetings anyways. Not everyone was as happy though. No, Selene was furious! Here was yet another child that could take away what it was she rightfully deserved. Especially since the princess Sam had claimed that this Azrael was her sister.

In another area, we see that Sam and Claire are training yet again. But this time, Claire is trying to teach Sam how to create a forcefield, whether it be out of magic or from an element. So far, no luck has been accomplished.

(Claire's POV)

We had been at this for hours! For some reason, Sam was not able to grasp the concept of a forcefield. If she did, she wasn't able to conjure one up as easily as I could. For me, it was as easy as breathing. The same energy I had wrapped around my hand to slap her, I was able to project outwards as a forcefield. I could also wrap it around the daggers I had gotten from Darius for Christmas. Watching her struggle, with sweat dripping down her face was not exactly an ideal way to spend the afternoon. Then I had an idea, albeit not a very nice one.

Looking from the corner of my eye, I gave Darius a look that he seemed to catch onto and spoke in my head. "Are you sure about this? You realize this will scare her and we don't know what will happen."

"Yes, Darius. Now change already would ya? Just make it look like I'm in danger…."

Within the next few minutes, I tried yet again to get Sam to create a force field. But still nothing….until I saw her eyes widen and she shouted, "Claire! Move!"

I looked to where she was and saw that a demon was running towards me, seeming to be in a right foul mood ready to cause some damage. But I didn't move, as I knew who it was. I just pretended that I was scared and frozen to the spot I was in. That seemed to do the trick, because the next thing I knew I saw a purple glow around myself as well as five feet around me. The "evil" demon hit the field to where he bounced off of it slightly and hit the ground, causing them to change back to Darius.

"Fuck that hurt….. Claire what the hell? Sam was supposed to do that, not you."

"Darius…look at the color….mine is orange. It's Sam's". Turning slightly to see Sam now right next to me in said barrier, I noticed she looked relieved - yet slightly pissed off.

"What the hell, Claire! I thought you were in danger! That's not funny…" she was about ready to cry, eyes watery and she dropped her barrier. Pulling her into my side, I reassured her that everything was okay and it was just to help her. Darius finally got off the ground, healing himself while walking up towards us.

"Good job, little lady. Very good job. You managed to burn me a bit with that." That didn't seem to help matters at all as tears slid down her face.

"Little one, it's okay," he wiped the tears from her face, softly laughing. "I'm okay. See? Now no more tears. Now let's get you girls cleaned up and go see Rose and Azrael, hm?"

"Yea. That sounds like a good idea. I miss my little sister. You comin, Claire?"

"You bet! Let's go!" I replied, excited to see the baby again. After that we both raced off towards the castle to get cleaned up. Twenty minutes later, we were in Rose's apartment cooing over Azrael.

"Sam, you wanna hold your sister?" Nodding her head at Rose, she carefully scooped the little girl from the cradle rocking her back and forth. Something in Sam seemed to change. She got a look in her eyes that seemed more calm yet protective. Looking at our demons in the room, I couldn't tell if they picked up on that or not. Soon little giggles were heard from the little bundle Sam was rocking.

(Sam's POV)

What the hell were they thinking?! "What the hell, Claire! I thought you were in danger! That's not funny…" I was trying not to cry. I seem to be doing that a lot lately. Giving me a hug, Claire told me that she was fine and she was just trying to help. Then I noticed Darius getting up with a slight wince of pain. Shit! I hurt him! I didn't mean to! Seeing my distress he tried to help while using a nickname I'm still not used to.

"Little one, it's ok" he wiped the tears from my face, softly laughing. I didn't realize they had fallen. "I'm ok. See? Now no more tears. Now let's get you girls cleaned up and go see Rose and Azrael, hm?"

Giving him a hug, I nodded my head and asked Claire if she wanted to go too. After all, Azrael loved her to pieces. That little girl calms down as soon as she hears Claire's voice in the room. Kinda cute if you ask me. After that we ran back home to clean up and went to Rose's to see them. Once we got there, I admittedly ran straight for Azrael's cradle. "Sorry, Rose. I missed her."

"It's ok kiddo. Sam, you wanna hold your sister?" She already knew the answer, but asked anyway. Picking up the little bundle of joy out of the cradle carefully, she opened her eyes and smiled. She was still so tiny. I made a promise to her and myself that I would keep her safe, no matter what. Feeling eyes on me, I looked up and saw Claire watching me. So making Azrael giggle, I handed my sister to Claire watching both of their eyes light up and I walked over to where Rose was. Yep, too cute!

"Hey, Rose. You doin ok?" I asked my protector demon/mother figure, giving her a hug. She crouches down to give me a better hug, squeezing slightly, then pulled away, still at my eyes level.

"I'm ok. How about you? I heard those two gave you quite a scare today," she shot Darius a quick look of amusement.

"Yea they did. But it got the job done…I guess…. but I burned Darius…."

"I told you already. I'm fine. It'll take a whole hell of a lot more to hurt me. I promise."

Azrael's giggles could be heard from across the room as Claire kept playing with her. Turning back to Rose, I asked a question that had been on my mind for quite a while. "Rose, when do I have to go see the council again? I don't particularly like Selene. There is just something off about her."

"Selene is one of the council members, Sam." Darius piped in. "She is trustworthy, as far as we can tell."

"But isn't she also one of the ones that was on my father's original council? I don't know, Darius. I have a weird feeling about her. Like she's not to be trusted. Something bad is going to happen….." I trailed off remembering an old dream from a few months back, right before Azrael was born. Seeing the memories flash, I picked a few and projected them to the two protector demons. They looked confused at first, but then recognition came across their faces. "I recognize the female's voice, but I'm not sure where Darius. And I am guessing it is safe to assume that you know the other voices, or at least the main one?"

Both Rose and Darius looked at me, with mixed expressions. "Yes. The man that you heard was Michael's voice. But, you have never heard it, so I am not sure how it is you know how he sounds. As for the other voices, I don't know who they are." He took a deep breath and continued, "Speaking of Michael….Rose, do you remember when the girls went to the fair and you saw the daggers?"

"Yea…what about them? You put them back in the vault downstairs."

"One of them is no longer in the vault. When I went to find Lyric during the time you went into labor, I found one of the daggers underneath some of my scrolls on her desk. When I went back to go get it, it had vanished."

"That is odd. She has no way into the vault. Hell, I can't even get in there! Would you like me to find out? Maybe one of the members wanted her to fix it seeing as she knows how to use magic when it comes to weaponry."

"No, Rose. It's fine. Hopefully it'll turn up soon. We don't need the wrong person getting their hands on that. Now," he said, turning to look towards his own protector child, "Claire, what ... .whaaaat are you doing?" While Darius had been talking to Rose, Claire had brought Azrael back over. Looking down at her, her eyes were big and wide looking up at him. Then a gurgling like sound came from the little baby girl as she stretched her little hand up, trying to get his hair or attention.

"She wants you to hold her, Darius." Rose told the perplexed demon next to me. "Go ahead. But if you drop her, hell will be without a Satan, do you understand me?" Darius shook his head frantically in agreement and slight fear. It was quite comical if you ask me.

(Darius' POV)

Damn she can get scary! After nodding my head in answer, Rose took her baby from Claire and gently handed her to me. Azrael weighed almost nothing, like a feather, as she settled down in my arms seemingly getting comfortable. Looking back up at me were the biggest pair of reddish orange eyes I had ever seen. Soon though after a few minutes, the little one fell asleep.

"Darius, how'd you do that? She never gets to sleep that fast, at least not until she's eaten."

"I'm not sure, Rose," I answered, putting Azrael back into her cradle, while prying the little one's fist from my shirt sleeve. She had a good grip for one so tiny.

"As for the rest of you younger ones - Sam, Claire - you should get some rest too. It's been a long day," I said, looking at both of the girls who were currently hiding yawns.

"Yes sir. Good night, Rose, Darius," came the reply as hugs were given around.

"Claire, you wanna stay in my room tonight?"

"Sure, let's go." And with that they both disappeared down the hall and into Sam's room.

I figured now would be a good time to get some more investigating done about Michael. Asking Rose for some help and offering to take Azrael, I handed her a stack and then went to my own office down on the other side of the castle. Lyric was going to be coming over pretty soon anyways and if I know how those two are, it wasn't going to be a quiet night.

(Sam's POV)

Dreamworld: I was running. Running and running away from someone who I could not even see their faces. Everything was dark in the forest. Up ahead, I could see a cave-like structure that belonged to the fae. I knew I couldn't go there so I kept going right past it, further in to get home. Or at least my second home, Satan's castle. Heavy footsteps followed me as I got closer and closer to the gate. Thankfully it was unlocked and I was able to get inside. Running straight in, I ran to my room as fast as I could. However, heavy footfalls and the scraping of long nails across the stone was all I could hear, following me.

"Mom! Darius! Someone is following me! Please help!"

Not receiving an answer frightened me more. Finally getting to my room, I hurriedly ran in, shutting and locking the door. I quickly hid under the bed, covering my mouth to be as quiet as I could, silently still calling out to my protector demon and friend. Within a few seconds, I hear the door open as if it unlocked itself and slowly opened. I watched as boots that I recognized walked towards the bed and a voice started speaking, but eerily.

"You can come out now, Princess. You know I won't hurt you. I just want to talk." The voice sounded like Darius. But I had an icky feeling that it wasn't him. My gut was telling me so, same as his mark on my shoulder. Michael's mark was slightly ice cold, but not quite burning. It wasn't Darius!

Suddenly, it was as if a force took over my whole body. I was pulled out from underneath the bed and then put on top of it. Still I couldn't move! What the hell was going on?! Then the demon posing as Darius came right up in front of me, tapping my forehead like the real Darius normally does. My head started to feel fuzzy, then suddenly my body got slightly heavier and it was Darius. But something was still telling me "no".

"Why are you hiding from me, hmm, princess? Come, let's unseal those powers of yours, shall we?" Slowly the demon in front of me had laid my body down and I tried to fight off what was going on.

"Darius! Stop! Please don't do this! NO!"

I was struggling but the demon on top of me was a lot stronger than I was. Within seconds, the clothing I had disappeared. I was somehow able to break a little of the hold that he had on me to scramble out from underneath him but managed to get cornered by the bookcase that held the small safety room.

"Now now pet, we're not finished yet." Grabbing my wrists, he put this type of energy band around them effectively cuffing me to the wall. Things just got worse from there. His hands went everywhere, exploring where he wished. I was begging him to stop but to no avail.

"Hm. We like that, don't we? Now to unseal your powers for myself to make me an even stronger and greater Satan," He laughed so evilly. I was not quite comprehending what exactly he had said nor meant, until he also shed his clothing with a snap of his fingers. Then I realized what he meant! No! This wasn't real! This wasn't going to happen! Darius would NEVER do something as vile as this! NO!

"Struggling won't help you, 'little one'" he said, grabbing onto my throat. "Now then, I will warn you, this will hurt. Not for me of course, but for you," More dark chuckles were heard as he slammed himself into my body, taking what was most sacred, causing me to scream out in pain. I felt like I was getting ripped apart! Next thing I saw was black…

(Claire's POV)

Screaming was all I heard that caused me to wake up. Like a bloody murder scream, but more painful. Turning to look where it came from, I saw Sam on the bed with her back arched and her pupils black again. Thinking as fast as I could, I screamed out for Darius aloud and mentally through our link.

"Darius! Help! It's Sam!"

Within seconds the door had burst open and Darius ran over to the side of the bed. I was already on the bed and had shaken Sam awake. As soon as her eyes fell on him though, she started shaking like a leaf, frightened. Turning her face into my shoulder, she grabbed onto me tighter and started crying even more telling me to make him go away.

"No. no more, Please. Just go away. No more." Her mumbling was getting worse as were her tears.

"Sam….sammy hey…what's wrong? It's just Darius. He won't hurt you." I tried coaxing her to look at me but she wouldn't budge, like a frightened kitten.

"He hurt me, Claire. He took something I can't get back!" Pain was very evident in her voice, regardless of how she was communicating. I opened up our mental link so Darius could hear as well, hopefully without Sam realizing it.

"Sam, what do you mean he hurt you? It was just us girls in here….."

After that, she basically relived what she dreamt. It was a horrible nightmare. The worst thing was, it was Darius' face she saw, not the actual person that did it.

"Sam….Sam look at me….. Hey," she looked up at me, but barely. Wiping the tears streaming down her face, I explained what I could. "That was not Darius. Do you hear me? That wasn't dad. Did you see any marking on him? " She quickly thought and shook her head no. "Ok see? It wasn't him. Now how about we go wash your face ok?" Nodding, she moved from under her covers, wincing and fell as soon as her feet touched the floor, with Darius catching her.

"Oh my God! Darius…look…." I had pointed to where she had been. There was a small area of blood and claw marks on her thighs showing from the edge of her sleeping shorts. Darius, looking from the bed down to the girl in his arms, picked her up and held her close but not too tightly. This caused her to start squirming to get away from him until he talked to her, trying his best to calm her down.

"Shhhhhh, it's ok Sam. It's just me. The real me. I won't hurt you. Never ever ever. I promise. I am so sorry that this happened. Let's get you in the bath and clean up okay?" She didn't answer. All Sam did was slowly relax and somewhat burrow herself into his arms and chest, bawling and clinging to him like a child. It was breaking my heart to know and realize just what she went through. Somehow, someone was able to sexually assault my best friend in her sleep as one of her cherished friends, and we couldn't do anything about it. Someone was going to pay, but right now we needed to get Sam cleaned up and calmed down.

"Darius, why don't we take her to my room, and I'll run a hot bath for her. Heat might soothe the pain a bit….." Nodding his head, he fully stood up with Sam still in his hold and we left that room. Once we got there, I ran straight for the bathroom and prepared a bubble bath with that strawberry and watermelon scent she liked, hoping it would help calm her down. After a bit the water was ready and I had him bring her into the bathroom and set her down on the side of the tub. Well, tried being the operative word. She wouldn't let go.

"Sam, you need to get in the bath. Darius can't be in here while you're in there. I'll stay here but will turn around till you're in the water ok? Darius can wait outside the door."

Slowly nodding, she let go, and he walked outside letting Sam get undressed after I turned around. After hearing her get into the water, I turned back around seeing she was up to her neck in the bubbles. "Darius. Find Rose and fast. I don't know why she isn't here. She should have noticed that Sam was in trouble. Unless this is like the last time and she can't tell."

"Yea, I'll go find her. She should be at home with Lyric. Please make sure that she will be ok. Don't let her out of your sight, Claire. Someone that strong to do something like this, is a serious threat! Stay safe, use some of both of our energies, and put up your barrier. I'll be back soon."

Closing off the link, I focused on washing Sam's hair as she just looked forward with her eyes dulled. "Sam, talk to me hun. Please? What's going on up there?" She didn't answer me. She seemed like she was just a shell. What else had that monster done to her? I didn't want to know. I mean, I had figured out the worst of it but…

"He called me 'princess' and 'pet'. He also used Darius' nickname for me! But he also had the same mannerisms as Darius. I knew it wasn't him, but still," she choked up, trying to explain. I was crushed. The bastard was literally trying to rip away everything! But to use my protector demon, someone we both saw as a father figure, to do something that vile! Fuck NO!

Sensing that I was getting angry, Sam slightly grabbed my hand with hers covered in bubbles, squeezing it. "I'll be ok. I have to be. I don't want anyone else to get hurt. Maybe if I give up everything, everyone will be safe…." After that she climbed out, wrapping herself in a fluffy robe we had hanging up.

"Oh, Sammy. No…..no no no no," I said, hugging her. "No one will get hurt. Especially by you being who you are. We aren't going anywhere, ya hear me?"

"You can't promise that, Claire. No one can!" Her powers were activating again, because ice was forming around the room, her breathing becoming erratic.

"Sam…sam look at me…" she looked up at me, eyes going dark. "I'm right here. I'm not hurt. You're safe. See?" Leaning forward, I gave her a hug and kissed her forehead. That was something I had seen Rose do multiple times to calm her down and it seemed to be working. The ice slowly started to vanish, bringing the room back to normal temperature. Going to the bed, I pulled her over and tucked her in with her own comforter she had stashed in there. She was slowly starting to fall back asleep, but fighting it.

"Please don't leave me…" she mumbled. Heartbroken, I turned the lights down and got under my own covers. Grabbing onto her hand, I put my pinky up on the other, grabbing hers as well.

"I'm not going anywhere, Sammy. I love you. Always and forever." Squeezing both her hand in one and our pinkies in the other, she finally stopped resisting sleep and passed out. Hopefully the barrier I had up would also keep evil out of her mind as well but morning would only tell.
