Dummy
It was mid-October, with the heelers just now getting home from each of their schools, Thomas and Levon were talking while walking while their sisters were just a few feet ahead of them. "Hurry up, guys!" Bingo shouted to her older brothers. "So yeah, Peter over calculated the chemicals and made to foam explode," Levon explained as he and Thomas walked along the sidewalk. "Sounds like something i would do on purpose," Thomas joked with a laugh. "Guys!" Bingo groaned with her ears folded back.
"Hehe, classic Peter..." Levon chuckled before his ear twitch upon hearing the youngest of the Heeler siblings, "Oh sorry Bingo, what's wrong?" He asked as he turned his attention towards the little Red Heeler. "Come on! My package is at the house right now!" Bingo shouted. Levon smiled as he walked up to her and Bluey before grabbing both of them under his arm, "Then we better get going!" He said with a smile before running down the street towards their house. "Hey! Wait for me!" Thomas exclaimed with a chuckle as he raced to catch up with his younger siblings, "Try to keep up!" Levon replied with a laugh, holding Bluey and Bingo tightly as he ran.
They then arrived at the house.
Levon placed Bluey and Bingo back on the ground while he tried to catch his breath as Thomas arrived, panting heavily. "God man, i told you you should have join track," Thomas said, still breathing hard. "Yea... yeah. Maybe." Levon replied with a smile before him, and Thomas and their sisters went up the steps of their house before Levon stopped upon noticing a box by the front door, "Hey Bingo, is this the package you were expecting?" The Grey Wolf asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah!" Bingo shouted and went to grab it. "It's her new doll," Bluey said. "Oh? What is it? Is it a Sushi Susie?" Levon asked with a raised eyebrow as him and Thomas caught their breath. "It's not a doll! It's a dummy," Bingo said as she opened the wrapping and reveled the dummy. "Geez it's ugly," Thomas said looking at it
"Oh, come on, Thomas. It's not like he asked to me made this way." Levon replied as he looked at the ventriloquist dummy that Bingo held in the box. "I'm happy that you're trying out a different hobby, kiddo." He said before rubbing the top of her head.
"Still ugly," Thomas said shaking his head. "Don't listen to him, Bingo. I'm sure this little guy will be great!" Levon replied with a smile. Bingo wagged her tail, As the Heeler sibling went inside their home, they all walked into the kitchen to find their parents cooking dinner. "Mum! It came!" Bingo said.
"What came, honey?" Chilli asked as she looked away from the onions she was peeling. "Bingo's new doll." Thomas said as he went to the fridge to grab a drink, "Ventriloquist Dummy." Levon said, correcting his older brother, to which Thomas rolled his eyes in annoyance. "Same thing," Thomas said taking a drink. "No, a dummy can move its mouth, but a doll can't or at least none of Bluey or Bingo's dolls." Levon retorted before grabbing a drink from the fridge.
"Yeah, yeah," Thomas said going down at table. "Come on mates don't squabble," Bandit said. "We're not, I'm just pointing out the key differences between a doll and Bingo's new Ventriloquist Dummy." Levon explained to his father as he joined his older brother at the kitchen table. "Come on dad you really think we would fight about that?" Thomas asked, looking at his father.
"Yeah, we're smarter than that." Levon replied with a chuckle as he took a sip of his drink. "We're not like you and uncle stripe," Thomas said with a chuckle. "Or Mum, Aunt Trixie, and Aunt Frisky." Levon added before the two erupted in laughter. "Hey!" Bandit said glaring at his son's "dad? Why do you fight with uncle stripe all the time?" Thomas asked. "I don't know, it was long time ago." Bandit replied as he helped Chilli chop the vegetables. "It's funny when you two fight," Thomas said with a chuckle.
"Well, this one fight wasn't funny..." Bandit replied before he continued to chop a carrot up, "Was it about a girl?" Levon asked with a raised eyebrow. "He was annoying!" Bandit said. "Oh, like Levon?" Thomas asked, pointing his thumb over to his younger brother, "Dude, I thought we were on the same side?!" Levon asked, shocked by the Heeler-Husky comment. "Eh if only I could be an only child again" Thomas joked. Levon rolled his eyes in annoyance before he continued to take a sip of his drink.
"Hey now, you know you love your brother," Bandir said looking at his son's. "I know I love you. Come give me a kiss!" Levon said as he moved to try and kiss his older brother, only for Thomas to hold him back from doing so. "Get off!" Thomas said with a chuckle as he used his strength to keep the Grey Wolf off of him. "Pucker up, lover boy!" Levon said before making kissing noise as Bluey and Bingo laughed at their older brothers. "Dad!" Thomas shouted.
"Alright, you two enough." Chilli spoke up as she playfully glared at her sons before Levon got off of Thomas, "You better watch your back." Levon said with a mischievous look on his face. "Mom!" Thomas said. "Alright, you big baby." Levon replied with a chuckle as he sat back down at his seat at the kitchen table. Bingo brought her dummy to the table. "So, what made you get into being a ventriloquist?" Levon asked as he looked at the box the dummy was in."I saw it on YouTube," Bingo replied. "Oh. Well, I hope everything goes well when you do your first act." Levon replied with a smile. Thomas shook his head. Later that night, after having dinner and washing up, the Heeler siblings were all ready for bed.
Thomas got into his bed.
"Alright, the girls are tucked in." Levon said as he walked into his and Thomas' shared room before laying down on his bed. "And the stupid dummy is purnaway," Thomas said while laying down. "Oh come on, it's something Bingo is into, and we need to support her." Levon said as he took his shirt off, wearing only his tank top and shorts. "But this... I don't know man," Thomas said, sitting up and rubbing the back of his neck. "Hey, I know this is tough to adjust to. But this is for Bingo." Levon replied with a soft smile, "She needs both of her big brothers there for support." He added.
"She just... she's getting older," Thomas said looking down. "But that doesn't mean she won't always need us." Levon said as he got out of bed and walked over to his brothers bed. "And the best part is, we're not done watching her grow." The Grey Wolf said as he hugged Thomas. "That's true," Thomas said as he hugged his little brother. "We'll always be there for Bluey and Bingo both." Levon said as he patted his hand on the Heeler-Husky's back. "Thanks mate," Thomas said with his terrible accent.
Levon chuckled, "We're family, we got to stick together and be there for each other no matter what." He said before getting up and going back over to his bed. "Your right, I love you man," Thomas said, laying down "I love you too, Thomas. I'll always love all of you." Levon replied as he lied back down on his bed, his head resting comfortably on his pillow.
They then went bed but someone else was awake in the house. Bingo was in her little tent with her little light while Bluey was sleeping talk to her dummy. "I wonder what I'm going to call you?" The little Red Heeler asked as she tried to think of a name for her ventriloquist dummy. She then saw a slip of paper in his pocket. A brow rose on head before taking the paper from her Ventriloquist Figurine's pocket. She then grabbed it and looked at "Slappy," She read. "That's a nice name." She said as she looked at the figurine, "I hope we can be best friends forever, Slappy." She said with a smile before snuggling up close to Slappy.
Slappy smiled darkly as the little red heeler hugged him.
The next morning, Levon woke up and stretched before he got out of bed and walked to go use the bathroom while Thomas slept peacefully. Levon went to bathroom and then brushed his teeth until he saw Bingo's dummy in the shower. "Huh? What are you doing there, mate?" Levon asked as he finished brushing his teeth and grabbed the dummy from the shower, and began to walk towards Bluey and Bingo's room. As he entered, he saw that both of his sisters were asleep before quietly walking in and placing the dummy back into Bingo's bed. "There you go, back where you belong." He muttered quietly before making his way quietly back out.
"Sure would hate for Bingo to be upset if anything happened to him." The Grey Wolf said as he made his way downstairs while everyone was sleeping in their beds. Thomas woke up and yawned before going to the bathroom. As the Blue furred Heeler-Husky mix walked out of the bathroom upon washing up. He began to make his way down the hall towards the stairs. Thomas then walked into the kitchen where his brother was. "Oh, Morning Thomas." Levon greeted his older brother as he placed a frying pan on the stove. "Good morning, what are you up to?" Thomas asked. "Getting ready to cook breakfast." Levon replied as he grabbed a bowl before cracking some eggs into it.
"Nice Thomas said sitting down. "You sleep okay last night?" Levon asked as he poured a little bit of milk into the bowl before he took a fork and began to whisk the eggs and milk together. "Yeah, just had a strange dream about Bingo's dummy," Thomas said as he stood up and grabbed some juice from the refrigerator. "Oh? What happened?" Levon asked as he poured the eggs into the frying pan. "It was alive trying to hurt me," Thomas said as he took a sip of his juice. "H-Hurt you?" Levon asked as he held back a snicker before continuing to scramble the eggs with a spatula.
"Yeah," Thomas replied.
"You know that thing can't really hurt you?" Levon asked as he looked at his older brother with a raised eyebrow. "I know, but that things weird," Thomas said drinking his juice. "Well, it was only a dream. But this is ALL Real." Levon replied with a chuckle as he poured the scrambled eggs onto a plate. "Yeah," Thomas chuckled just before they heard chilli scream.
Levon quickly threw the pan on the stove before he quickly ran out of the kitchen as Thomas followed behind. The two made their way upstairs before Levon barged through their parents' bedroom door, nearly knocking it off of its hinges. "MUM, ARE YOU ALRIGHT?!" The Grey Wolf asked as he looked around frantically to see what was wrong. "Who made this mess!" Chilli asked as she pointed as her make up all over the ground. "Wait, what?" Levon asked as him and Thomas stared at the mess in confusion, "What do mean Mum?" Levon asked as him and Thomas relaxed, knowing their mother wasn't in danger.
"Did you two make this mess?" Chilli asked as Bandit came out of their bathroom. "What? No!" Thomas replied, shocked at him and his younger brother being accused of doing something they wouldn't do. "Yeah, me and Thomas just woke up, and we were downstairs cooking brekkie." Levon explained as he looked down at the mess. Chili sighed. "Maybe one of the girls got into it," Chilli said just then Bluey screamed from her and Bingo's room. Levon then hurried out of the room, and his older brother and their parents followed close behind. Levon barged into the Bluey and Bingo's room. "GIRLS, WHAT'S WRONG?!" The Grey Wolf asked as he looked at both of his and Thomas' younger sisters.
"Bingo drew on my face!" Bluey shouted trying to get the make off her face. "No I didn't!" Bingo shouted. "Okay, let's all calm down." Levon said, trying to calm them down as Thomas and their parents walked into the room. "Now, Bingo. Did you draw on Bluey's face?" Levon asked, turning to the little Red Heeler. "No!" Bingo said in tears. "Yes you did!" Bluey shouted back. "Girls, please calm down." Levon said, trying to keep the situation from escalating. "Now, Bluey. Let's go into the bathroom and see if we can get that marker off of your face." He said, offering his hand to Bluey. Bluey nodded and went with her older brother. "Thanks mate," Bandit whispered to his younger son. Levon nodded as him and Bluey walked out of her and Bingo's room, leaving Bingo alone with Thomas and their parents.
"Why did you do it Bingo?" Thomas asked crossing his arms. "But I didn't do it. Honest. I was sleeping in my bed and then I heard Bluey scream." Bingo explained as she wiped her nose with the back of her back. "Bingo please don't lie mate," Bandit said. "But I'm not. I really didn't do it." Bingo replied as she looked her father in her eyes. "Alright, alright let's just calm down," Chilli said trying to get everyone calmed down. "I would never draw on Bluey's face while she's sleeping. I know better than to do that, I'm not a cheeky kid." Bingo said as tears began to well in her eyes once more. Chilli rubbed her daughters tears away.
"I really didn't do it..." Bingo said as she hugged her mother and rested her head against her chest. "Okay, let's take a breath," Chilli said hugging her daughter. "I'll get Brekky started," Bandit said as he started to leave the room with Thomas. Meanwhile, Levon was gently wiping the marker off of Bluey's face with a wet flannel. "There we go, good as new." He said with a smile as he looked at his little sister's now clean face.
"Why would she do this?" Bluey asked. "Bluey, I know this is hard to believe. But I think Bingo is telling the truth." Levon replied as he placed a hand on the little Blue Heeler's shoulder. "Well then who else would have done it?" Bluey asked. "Mmm... maybe Bingo DID do it, but she didn't realize it. Like she did it in her sleep." Levon replied as he suggested his explanation.
"See!" Bluey said.
"Bluey, what I'm saying is that Bingo might've been sleepwalking." Levon explained, trying to make sure she understood. "She still did it," Bluey said crossing her arms. "Technically, yes. BUT she wasn't aware of what she was doing. When you fall sleep, our brains sort of go into recharge, kind of like Mum or Dad's phones." Levon said as he explained how sleepwalking occurs.
"Oh..." Bluey replied as she looked down at the floor in shame with her ears folded back, "Hey, It's okay. Tell you what. I'll keep watch if Bingo tries to do something like this again. Alright?" Levon asked as he placed a hand on the little Blue Heeler's shoulder. "Okay," Bluey said as she looked up at her older brother. "Come on, let's go have some brekkie." Levon said as he picked her up, and carried her out of the room before they arrived back at Bluey and Bingo's room. "Everything okay here?" Levon asked as he poked his head into the room.
"Everything is fine sweetheart," Chilli said with a soft smile. "Okay, let's go have some brekkie then." Levon replied, smiling back before walking out with Bluey at his hip. The family was at the table eating breakfast before school. Bingo had brought Slappy with her to the table. Thomas looked at his sister while eating before speaking. "So why did you do it Bingo?" Thomas asked curiously. Levon raised an eyebrow at his older brother, wondering why he was bringing up the topic, "Thomas, I think Bingo might've been sleepwalking, and she didn't realize she was." He said, explaining what he had told Bluey.
"I was just wondering," Thomas said with a shrug. "Well, Bingo has sleepwalked in the past." Levon said as he took a bite of his bacon and eggs. "But never drew on anybody," Thomas said while eating his eggs. Bingo looked down with her ears down and looked toward Slappy who had black ink on his hands. "M-maybe Slappy did it?" Bingo suggested looking at her family. "And now blaming the dummy," Thomas said with a sigh. "Bingo, why would Slappy do that?" Levon asked with a raised eyebrow as he placed his fork down on his plate. "I-i don't know ," Bingo said "face it Bingo, you drew on Bluey," Thomas said standing up to place his plate in the sink. "Come on mate, don't be mean," Bandit said to his oldest son.
"Look, why don't we drop this and enjoy the rest of our day, alright?" Levon asked as he looked around the table at his family. "Fine with me," Thomas said as he finished washing his plate. "Let's finish up breakfast, or we're gonna be late for school girls." Levon said as he finished his breakfast and took his plate to the sink. The girls nodded and finished their breakfast. They started to walk out the door with Bingo holding Slappy. "You're taking that thing to school?" Thomas asked. "Come on Thomas, she just wants to show all her friends and classmates her new doll." Levon said, and he slipped his hands through the straps of his backpack. "She just wants to show her friends..." Thomas said mocking his brother as they went out the door.
"Oh wow, real mature mate." Levon replied, rolling his eyes at his older brother before looking down at Bluey and Bingo. "You girls have a great day at school." He said with a smile before giving both of them a kiss on their forehead. "Thanks Levon," Bingo said holding Slappy close to her "thanks, you guys too," Bluey added with a smile. "Thanks girls." Levon said before walking up and kissing his mother on the cheek, "Bye Mum, you and Dad have a great day at work." He said before walking out the front door. "Thanks mate, have a great day!" Bandit said with a smile. "Have a great day kids," chilli said "bye guys," Thomas said, waving.
"You're such a mama's boy." Thomas said, teasing his younger brother, "Bite me." Levon replied as the two made their way down the street towards their bus stop. Thomas was looking at his phone while they were waiting for he bus. "What a crazy start to the day, huh?" Levon asked as he looked at his older brother. "Yeah, the girls fighting about who marked who and moms make up mess," Thomas said looking up from his phone and looking at his brother. "I really don't believe Bingo did it, though." Levon said as he scratched the side of his head. "How? She's obviously lying about it," Thomas said while putting his phone away.
"But that's not like Bingo to do that." Levon replied as he knew deep down in his heart that his and Thomas' youngest sister wasn't the culprit. "Bingo's not a bad kid. She would never mess with Mum's makeup or draw on Bluey's face." He said as a bus began to pull up at the bus stop. "You're right! Because she's not Muffin," Thomas joked. "Maybe Muffin or Socks. But I know deep down Bingo is telling the truth." Levon replied as he got on the bus to school. "Then you would say the dummy did it!" Thomas joked again.
"No. Maybe Mum didn't put her makeup away probably, and it fell on the floor?" Levon replied with a shrug of his shoulders before sitting down on a seat on the bus. Thomas chuckled "you're such a wolf you know that?" Thomas said with a light smile. "What do you mean?" Levon asked as he looked at Heeler-Husky mix with a confused look on his face. "I did a resent study on your wolf breed and you tend to be or at least try to be an alpha wolf of the family," Thomas explained while poking fun at his brother. "I most certainly do not." Levon replied, appalled at what his older brother was implying. "When do I ever do that?" He asked, trying to see if he had proof. "All the time!" Thomas said with a chuckle. "Give me an example." Levon replied as he looked at Thomas with a now smug grin, "I bet you can't!"
"Let's see... oh! You got super mad when your elementary school bully tried to stick Peter pitbull in a locker!" Thomas said with a laugh. "Hey, I'm not gonna stand by while someone picks on my friends. What about the time, Liam was getting picked on by Zach, and you got into that fight?" Levon retorted as he recalled a time when his older brother stood up for his best friend. "Well yeah," Thomas replied. "So, how exactly does that prove me trying to be the alpha male of our family?" Levon asked as the bus came to a stop and a couple of kids from their school got on. "I don't know you just are! Watch if another wolf were to come to school you'd try to outdo him!" Thomas said as the bus started going again.
"I seriously doubt that..." Levon replied as he looked out the window as the bus continued on their way to their school.
Later in the afternoon, Thomas and Levon arrived back at their house where their parents and sisters were in the kitchen. "Hey everyone, how was everyone's day?" Levon asked as he sat down at the kitchen table with his backpack next to him. Bandit and Chilli looked very annoyed while Bandit was doing the dishes and Chilli was reading a magazine. "Woah... what's wrong?" Levon asked, looking at both of his and Thomas' parents as he walked into the kitchen. "Your sister decided to insult her friends with her dummy," Chilli said in a serious tone. "And the teacher," Bandit added while scrubbing the same dish over and over again. "Ooooo," Thomas said with a smirk.
"Woah what what?!" Levon asked in shock and disbelief, "That doesn't sound anything like Bingo at all." He replied as he looked towards the stairs leading up to all of the families bedrooms. "But she did, made a voice for the dummy and everything," Chilli said with a sigh. Levon sighed before he walked out of the kitchen and began to head upstairs. Thomas followed his brother, The two brothers made their made upstairs and down the hall before arriving at Bluey and Bingo's room. Levon stood there before placing his hand on the doorknob and knocked with his other hand. "Bingo?" The Grey Wolf called out to the youngest member of his family.
"C-come in," Bingo said with a sniff.
Levon walked into the room before closing the door behind him, leaving Thomas alone in the hallway. "Hey, kiddo... Are you okay?" Levon asked as he walked over towards Bingo's bed. "Hey!" Thomas said before he tried to open the door but it was locked. Bingo was on her bed crying softly to herself. "N-no," Bingo said. "Do you want to talk about it?" Levon asked as he sat down on the bed before gently placing a hand on the little Red Heeler's back. "I didn't make him talk, I swear!" Bingo said looking at her brother. "What do you mean, Bingo?" Levon asked with a raised eyebrow as he began to rub her back to try and comfort her.
"Slappy talked! But I didn't make him talk!" Bingo said with tears in her eyes. "Hey, it's okay." Levon said as he grabbed the little Red Heeler and hugged her close to his chest, "I know you would never say something to hurt anyone's feelings... you're a sweet and caring girl." He whispered as he kissed the top of her head. "At least you believe me," Bingo said hugging her brother. "Of course I believe you. I know deep down you're a good kid. The others might have a hard time, but I know when I look into those bright and sparkly eyes of yours. I know you are." Levon replied as he hugged Bingo tightly. "Thanks Levon," Bingo said with a sniff.
Levon smiled before he held Bingo and comforted her, "Don't worry kiddo, it'll all be okay." He said as he continued to rub her back. "He talked by himself I swear," Bingo said, wiping her nose.
Earlier that day..
"Alright class, Bingo has decided to share with us something that she got in the mail." Mrs. Retriever announced to her kindergarten class as Bingo got up in front of her teacher and classmates to show. "Um... hello, this is Slappy. He's my new ventriloquist doll that I got in the mail yesterday." She explained as she showed Slappy to her teacher and classmates. "Oooo," the class said in awe. "I've seen videos of people doing this, and I wanted to give it a try. Slappy, why don't you introduce yourself to my teacher, Mrs. Retriever and my kindie class?" Bingo asked, looking at the dummy in her hands.
"Oh! You mean the dog with the wet dog smell?" Slappy asked before laughing. Mrs. Retriever and her class all gasped upon hearing the rude insult that escaped the dummy's mouth, "W-Wait a minute! I didn't say that!" Bingo said in shock as she looked at her teacher and classmates. "Of course you did! You're the only one controlling me!" Slappy said while laughing again. Bingo then tried to get Slappy off her hand but it wasn't working "and I bet that little pug in back eats his boogers for lunch," Slappy said again while laughing.
Everyone in the back turned to Buddy Pug before he ran to a corner, crying at being embarrassed by Bingo and her act, "Bingo, that wasn't very nice of you. I think you and 'Slappy' need to apologize." Mrs. Retriever said as she got up off the floor. "B-But Mrs. Retriever, I promise it's not me saying these things!" Bingo said as tears began to well in her eyes. "Yeah! Bingo say your sorry to boogie boy!" Slappy said laughing
Back in the present.
Slappy's laughter echoed in Bingo's mind as she told Levon what had happened, "And then everyone got upset with me and Mrs. Retriever called Mum and Dad to come get me, and they were really upset with me..." She said as she sobbed into her older brothers chest. "Shh... It's okay, Bingo. Everything is going to be okay." Levon said in a soft tone as he rubbed the little Red Heeler's back. Thomas managed to get the door unlocked and went inside.
"Just let all out, my sweet baby sister..." Levon whispered as he looked at his oldest sibling. "So you insulted everyone? Where's the dummy?" Thomas asked. "Mum and Dad took him away and put him in their bedroom." Bingo replied as she wiped the tears from her eyes. "Right... let's go see if he really talks!" Thomas said before taking off their parents bedroom. Levon watched as his older brother walked out of the room before he patted Bingo on her back, "You stay right here, Bingo. I need to go with him..." he said before walking out of the room and followed Thomas to their parents bedroom. Thomas was their parents room searching for the dummy.
"Thomas, why are you looking for Bingo's doll?" Levon asked as he watched the Blue Heeler-Husky mix run back and forth around the room, trying to find Slappy. "I want to see if it really talks," Thomas said, wagging his tail. "How are you even gonna get him to talk?" Levon asked with a raised eyebrow. "Promise not to tell mom or dad?" Thomas said looking at his brother. "Fine... but you owe me one." Levon replied as he began to help his older brother look for Slappy. Thomas smiled as he pulled out a lighter from his pocket.
"Woah, wait a minute! What are you doing with a lighter?!" Levon asked as he stared at the lighter in the Blue Heeler-Husky mixes hand. "We're gonna make him talk," Thomas said with a smirk as he then found the dummy on their dad's side of the closet. "Thomas, be careful!" Levon said as he watched Thomas take Slappy out of the closet. "We don't need to get in trouble with Mum and Dad..." He said as he checked the bedroom door leading out towards the hallway. "Dads a softy remember," Thomas as he held the dummy and the lighter. Levon winced as he watched the flame of the lighter move closer towards Slappy's face. "Come on, talk," Thomas said with a smile while the light got closer.
Levon began to back away as a feeling began to develop, a feeling that danger was coming and something was about to happen. "Hey! That hurts!" Slappy shouted as Thomas screamed as he dropped Slappy. Slappy then stood up, laughed, and ran away to the hallway. Levon and Thomas looked at each other for a brief second before chasing after the ventriloquist dummy,
"Dude, this is really freaky!" Levon said to Thomas upon reaching the hallway. "Right!" Thomas shouted before they bumped into their dad and dropped the lighter. "Oh geez! Sorry, Dad!" Levon said as he quickly grabbed the lighter and placed it in his pocket before offering a hand to help their father up. "Was that Lighter?!" Bandit shouted. "I uh... y-yes." Levon confessed, knowing he couldn't lie to his father. "I'm sorry, Dad... Thomas was showing me it, and we were gonna..." He tried to think of what to tell him before turning to Thomas for help. "Come dad don't be so sore about it," Thomas said pleading with his father. "Are you two smoking?" Bandit asked, crossing his arms. "What?! No! We just thought it was cool how it lights, and we were gonna go out into the backyard." Levon replied as he looked over at Thomas.
"Ugh! Dad! The dummy's alive!" Thomas spoke up. "What?" Bandit asked as he raised an eyebrow at his oldest son, "Dad, seriously. That thing is alive!" Thomas said, pointing towards the staircase leading downstairs. "Come mate, stop teasing your sister about the dummy. She's already in trouble about it," Bandit said. "Y-Yeah, you're right, Dad. Come on, Thomas, let's go head downstairs." Levon said before grabbing Thomas' hand and leading him away from their father. "What are you doing? He need to know," Thomas said. "He's not gonna believe us! We need to find Slappy before he gets away!" Levon whispered before the two made their way downstairs to the living room.
"You right, your right," Thomas said. "Now... where is he?" Levon said, glaring as he looked around the room to see if there was any sign of Slappy being around. They heard laughing and little running steps in the playroom. Levon and Thomas looked at each other before running back upstairs to where they had heard the footsteps and laughter. "Now where is he?" Thomas said. "I don't know..." Levon said as he scanned the room for any sign of the mischievous, trouble making ventriloquist dummy. They saw something in the comer behind some toys. Levon and Thomas slowly approached the corner very carefully, not knowing if Slappy would attack them.
Just then Slappy jumped at Levon pulling his chipped ear. "Gah!" Levon cried out in agony as he pulled at the ventriloquist dummy, trying to get him off before slamming him against the wall. I got him!" Thomas shouted as he tried to grab the dummy. A struggle ensued before Levon and Thomas grabbed Slappy and pinned him against the wall. "Release me at once you fools!" Slappy shouted trying to get free. "Not gonna happen, you little monster!" Levon said as he held Slappy's legs with one hand and his other hand holding the dolls arm, "Why did you get our sister in trouble?" He asked as he stared right into the lifeless eyes of Slappy.
"She's been a bad little girl!" Slappy said while laughing. Levon growled as rage began to build up inside of him before leaning his head back and headbutting Slappy hard. "Ow! That hurts wolfie!" Slappy said. "Uh oh," Thomas said, knowing that you never ever call Levon wolfie. "I asked you a question... why did you get our baby sister in trouble at kindie, and why did you do all these cheeky things?" Levon asked in a calm tone. "Because wolfie it's fun! Hahah!" Slappy said while laughing. "Now he did it," Thomas said knowing levon was going to blow. "You know what... you're right." Levon replied with a smile before he began to pull hard on Slappy's arm.
"Ow hey!" Slappy said.
"Let's see..." Levon said before ripping off Slappy's arm, a bundle of cotton and stuffing spilled out of the wound as a result. "Hey! Stop that!" Slappy shouted. "Why Dummy? You said so yourself. It's fun to do bad things!" Levon said before he began to pull in Slappy's legs. "Wait! Maybe we will strike a deal?" Slappy asked. "What kind of deal?" Levon asked, raising an eyebrow wanting to hear what Slappy had to offer. "You know! Give me the girl and I'll let you live type deal?" Slappy said. "I'm listening." Levon replied, his ears perked up, ready to hear his offer. "Give me the girls soul and I'll let you both live!" Slappy said while laughing. Levon and Thomas looked at each other for a brief moment before Levon ripped Slappy's legs off. "Ow!" Slappy screamed in pain. "What's going on in here?"chilli asked, walking into the room.
Levon and Thomas both stood and quickly hid Slappy behind a stack of toys, "Nothing Mum, me, and Thomas were just hanging out in the play room." Levon replied as his eyes glanced at Thomas. "Then who made that awful scream?" Chilli asked. "Oh! That was me I-I saw a huntsman spider and uh Levon Killed it," Thomas explained. "Yeah, but I accidentally hit Thomas' foot when I did." Levon replied as he patted his older brother on the back. "Sorry about that, Thomas."
"It's okay," Thomas said with an awkward smile. "Okay, what are you two cheeky dogs hiding?" Chilli asked as she crossed her arms. "What? Mum, why would we hide anything from you?" Levon asked as he looked over at Thomas. "A spider? Really kids?" Chilli asked as she raised her eyebrow. Levon bit his bottom lip as he knew his mother could see through his lie before turning to Thomas with a worried look. Thomas sighed and then moved to the side. Levon swallowed a lump in his throat before moving to the side to reveal Slappy, missing his arm and legs. Chilli gasped. "WHY WOULD YOU TWO BREAK YOUR SISTERS TOY?!" Chilli shouted.
Before Thomas could reply, Levon spoke up. "Mum, Thomas didn't do anything. I tore up Bingo's doll. He came up here and tried to stop me." The Grey Wolf explained as he looked at his mother in the eye. "What?" Chilli asked. "Y-Yeah, I destroyed Bingo's doll..." Levon replied, knowing he would be in trouble but in his mind, this was better than trying to explain to his mother what was really happening. "Levon... how could you," Chilli said in shock. "I...I just didn't like that doll. It was creepy and... Bingo should find another one." Levon explained as he swallowed the pain inside of having to lie to her.
Chilli step back from your youngest son. "You're grounded," Chilli said firmly "what?! No?!" Thomas said. "For how long?" Levon asked with his ears folded back as the pain of having his mother disappointed in him ate away at his heart like acid. "One week, and you'll be writing an apology to your sister," Chilli said as she crossed her arms "but mom!" Thomas pleaded. Chilli turned to her oldest son with a glare which caused him to stifle any protest he had before she walked out of the room, leaving the two Heeler brothers alone in the playroom. "Well... that could have gone better." Levon said with a sigh.
"Why did you lie?" Thomas asked turning to his brother. "Because Mum and Dad wouldn't have believed us. I think this is for the best." Levon replied before he turned back to look at Slappy to see him trying to crawl away with his one good arm remaining.
"Well, what do we do with him?" Thomas asked as Slappy tried to crawl.
"I say we throw him out back in the fireplace." Levon said as he grabbed Slappy by the back of his neck. "What?! No!" Slappy shouted. "Why don't we throw him out in a bin?" Thomas suggested with a chuckle before Levon looked down at the dummy, "I like my idea better, besides..." he said as a sinister grin formed across his face. "...we can make sure Slappy never comes back."
"That's not fair!" Slappy said trying to get free.
"So is trying to steal our baby sister's soul." Levon said with a growl as he and Thomas made their way downstairs and to the backyard where the fire pit was. Thomas had placed down some wood and got his lighter ready. "Any last words dummy?" Thomas asked looking at Slappy. "Yeah, a real shame about your mother. She couldn't keep a relationship to save her life!" Slappy said before bursting out into laughter as Levon poured the lighter fluid on a piece of wood before Thomas lit it and threw it into the fire. Slappy's laughter then turned into screams of agony before continuing to laugh, "And you think Thomas was bad! Your own mom chose to rather die then to see your ugly mug!" Slappy said before continuing to laugh before his head melted in the fire along with rest of his body.
"Good riddance," Thomas said with a deep breath "Yeah... well, I better go talk to Bingo before I serve out my punishment." Levon said with a sigh. "You do that I'll take care of this," Thomas said "Maybe throw him in the bin? It's time to take them out." Levon replied with a small smile. Thomas nodded as he the. Washed down the fire. Upon putting out the fire, Thomas found the slightly melted head of Slappy before picking it up and walking out front to where the bins were. "That takes care of that," Thomas said with a nod.
The Next Day, the bin man came to collect the garbage when he saw something fall out. The black Golden Retriever got out of his truck and picked up whatever fell out of the truck. Upon grabbing the item in question, he discovered it was Slappy's head. "Oh nice!" He said excitedly before he tied up Slappy's head to grill of his garbage truck before driving off.
As the bin man drove off the Heeler's street, Slappy cried out in horror as the realization that this would be his new permanent home, knowing that he had been defeated by Thomas and Levon. A few weeks later, Bingo arrived back at Kindie and saw something in her friend Lila's hands.
"Alright class, Lila has something she would like to share with us!" Mrs. Retriever called out to her class before Lila held up a doll with bright red hair. "This is Chucky, and my mum got him at the Op Shop." The white Maltese said before pressing a button. "Hi, I'm Chucky. Wanna play?" The doll asked as it moved its arms and head.
The End.
