Chapter Forty-Two
Asking for Help
A little while later, Tyroth started to walk from the movie room towards the temple of the well hoping to meditate on the situation.
He was annoyed as well as disappointed that the Knights had been unable to find out anything specific in the meetings between the Foot and the Street Gang that Jun had spotted.
He was also worried about how they could keep it quiet from the Hamato Clan that the Foot were in Chicago.
He put his fingers to the sides of his head and rubbed them as he tried to think, and he picked up his pace to get to the temple.
As he walked past the residential quarters, he heard laughing and cheering from Sonia's playroom.
Narrowing his eyes, he walked over to the door and peeked through the open space into the room, and he saw Sonia, Freya and Loki sitting in a circle around a table.
Tyroth narrowed his eyes as he watched.
Unaware that Tyroth was outside, Loki was holding up a small toy soldier and pointing at an iPad where he was showing a video of them looking at the toy soldier.
"Check this out! It's my spybot! Uncle Donnie gave me blueprints of this a while back! Yet I wasn't sure how to work it, but now I've figured it out and I can send this baby into small cracks to help us find things we've dropped!"
"Nice job Loki!" Sonia said "You think it can find anything we've lost in places we can't reach? I remember losing a ring Uncle Tyroth gave me for my birthday and it rolled into a hole in the wall, took me ages to fish it out especially since where it rolled into was so dark!"
"It sure can!" Loki grinned "Well this little guy being a toy solider can only fit into larger spaces, but if I can make something smaller, it can be done!"
"Sweet!" Freya said clapping her hands.
As Tyroth watched, his eyes narrowed more as a thought crossed his mind.
"Spybot?" he thought "I remember Donatello using a lot of those on our missions, and they always proved useful…"
He then sucked in a breath as the idea shone into his head like a ray of sunlight.
"Of course!" he said "Why didn't I think of that? Oh Gods! I must be so under pressure I'm not using my head!"
He leaned against the wall as he thought of Donatello and how his inventions would be greatly needed, yet because of the situation and how the brainy turtle was suffering from PTSD he couldn't speak to him.
Yet, after hearing his son speak about what he had made, he could speak to him about it!
"Well done Loki!" he thought then he walked over to the door and gently knocked on it.
The three cousins looked up and turned to the door to see the dragon appear.
"Uncle T!" Sonia cried.
"Dad!" the Geckolings said in unison.
"Hey!" Tyroth said as he walked in "What are you doing?"
"Nothing really!" Loki said "Just showing the girls my latest creation! It was from some blueprints and notes Uncle Donnie gave me, and I thought I'd try and put them together!"
Tyroth smirked as he looked.
"Can I see?" he asked to which Loki nodded and handed the toy solider to Tyroth who looked at it in his large paw then observed the Ipad where it showed his face, or rather a close up of his snout as he was holding the toy soldier in front of it.
"Mmm, this is clever." He mused.
"For sure right?" Freya said, "Loki said it might help us look for stuff in small places!"
"I'd say more than just help!" Tyroth said with a smirk, he then looked at Loki.
"Son." He said, "May we talk for a while?"
Loki's eyes widened slightly.
"uhh…sure!" he said nodding.
"Go to your bedroom Trickster." Tyroth said "I'll be there in a minute." He then turned to Sonia and Freya as Loki agreed and taking the iPad and the toy soldier, he left the playroom.
"How come Pandora's not with you?" Tyroth asked the girls, as when he had entered, he had seen that the young hybrid was nowhere to be found.
Sonia sighed.
"She's still angry and on edge." She reported.
"Yeah!" Freya agreed "She's been spending more time in her room or in the dojo than with us, we've tried to include her in games and activities, but she's not into it."
Sonia nodded.
"She's still upset over what happened in the Foot Headquarters, as well as the condition of Raphael, and the fact Kemeko's in Japan."
Tyroth sighed as he listened.
"I understand it's been difficult for her." He spoke.
"But dad!" Freya said "Why isn't she feeling any better? Aunt Mona's out of her coma now, and Uncle Raph…well, even though he can't speak, he's still alive."
Tyroth grunted.
"I know Freya, but you got to remember what she's been through, and such feelings don't disappear overnight."
Sonia agreed and patted Freya's shoulder.
"I know." Freya said hanging her head.
"I'm sorry dad, I just, we're trying to do our best for her, and support her, and we wish we could have her back, the fun loving and cheeky Pandora, but she's like a shadow of her former self."
"Trauma does that to people." Tyroth said with a nod and stroked his daughter's cheek "And Pandora might be like this for a while, but she will be herself again soon."
"I hope." He thought to himself then stood up "I'm going to talk to Loki now, but I'll check in on you two later."
"Okay Uncle T." Sonia said.
"What about Pandora?" Freya asked, "Last time we saw her she was in the Dojo."
"Don't worry Little Valkyrie." Tyroth reassured his daughter "I'll check in on her too."
He then left the room and the female Geckoling and Chameleon were left alone in the playroom.
Freya sighed and rested her chin on her hands.
Sonia also leaned back on her chair.
"What should we do now?" Freya asked.
Sonia shrugged.
"Drawing blanks." She said, "I want to check in on Pandora, but I'm not sure if she even wants to speak to us."
Freya frowned.
"I wish she wasn't shutting us out!" she said, "It's just so frustrating!"
"I know." Sonia replied, "But we can't force her to speak when she doesn't want to, we just need to be patient!"
Freya growled but she nodded in agreement.
It was true, if Pandora didn't want to speak, there was no point in forcing her to, and knowing how stubborn the hybrid was, it would be impossible.
Meanwhile back in New York in the Foot Headquarters, Arashi stood above the glass capsule that the Shredder, or rather the Alien form of his Master lay in.
He smirked as he rapped on the glass with his knuckles.
Knock knock! Is anyone in there?" he asked but Chrell gave no movement or answer.
"Nope? Oh well!" he shrugged and looked up at Dr Arden who was walking over.
"Coming to check in on the patient." The scarred doctor smirked as he looked at the capsule then at the machines attached.
Arashi looked down at Chrell and Dr Arden murmured to himself.
"Hmm, still no change." He reported "A pity."
Arashi frowned.
"The all-powerful Shredder, the so-called invincible master, thought he had a chance with the Dragon, and it's landed him in a coma." Arashi tutted.
"Well, he dug his own grave." Dr Arden shrugged.
"And It seems unlikely he will return to us anytime soon." Arashi growled "Give how the Dragon practically beat him to a pulp!"
"That he did master." Dr Arden agreed "Yet…even though his body is broken, his mind is still active."
He pointed to one of the machines and Arashi looked at it and how how Chrell's brain was still active due to the waves that showed on the screen.
"I see…" he said "So he's locked in, locked inside his mind, such a shame! His mind is still going despite his vegetive state."
"We will keep monitoring his progress Lord Arashi." Dr Arden said "In the meantime, I will continue my other work, and experiments, should those Turtles, the lizard whore, that filthy crossbreed and the rat return!"
Arashi nodded.
"I still am curious to where they fled to along with their little friends!" Arashi growled then he thought of Hanako in Chicago.
"And I wonder how my Cherry Blossom is doing with her assignment?"
He licked his lips.
"I hope she's doing better than we are here!"
Dr Arden smirked.
"You believe she'll be able to convince that Yakuza Boss into joining us and accepting the business deal?" he asked.
"I trust my Cherry." Arashi said "Almost as much as I trust you my good doctor." He hissed the last part and Dr Arden's scars wrinkled as he grinned back.
Just then, Arashi's phone rang, and the Foot Lord quickly checked it seeing Hanako's number.
"Ah! Speak of the devil!" Arashi smirked then put the phone to his ear.
"My cherry…" he said in a syrupy voice to which Dr Arden swallowed hard in slight disgust, but he listened in hoping to hear what Hanako had to say about her mission in Chicago.
Back in Mutopia, Tyroth sat with Loki in the twin's bedroom.
Loki sat on his bed whilst Tyroth sat on Freya's bed.
Since the Geckolings were born they had shared a bedroom, and even though they had grown up, they still liked to share a room.
The Walls consisted of posters of music bands, video games and films they enjoyed, as well as their specific interests.
On Loki's side of the room, he had many possessions of Transformers toys and Dinosaurs, and on Freya's side, she had Pokémon and Viking style toys and ornaments.
Another thing Loki had was his bedcovers were Dinosaur style and Freya had Dungeons and Dragons patterns on her bedcovers.
"So, what is it you want to talk to me about dad?" Loki asked with a raised eyebrow ridge.
Tyroth held up the toy solider along with the IPad.
"The thing is Trickster." He said, "The Knights are trying to find out secrets from the gangs topside, especially the 95th Street gang that Jun encountered."
"The Tiger was involved with another underground fight?" Loki asked as he was aware of Jun's activities topside.
Tyroth nodded.
"Well not involved with." The Dragon informed "He was only observing this time, but anyway, the point is, the Knights were up there at the abandoned school that Jun was at, and they saw there was some activity with an organised Crime Lord, yet they were unable to get any information from just being close in observing."
Loki blinked as he listened to his father, and he began to put the two and two together on what he was asking.
"And you want me to put together a few spybots to send into enemy territory?" he asked.
"Bingo!" Tyroth said winking and clicking his tongue.
"And you want me to do it?" Loki asked, "But why not Uncle Don?"
Tyroth sucked in a breath.
He hadn't told the kids, or even Sonia about the Foot being in Chicago, and he wanted to make sure the news stayed secret, no matter what.
"I haven't asked Donnie because he along with the rest of the Hamato Clan still need to recover from their trauma at the hands of the Foot." He said, "He needs to rest, and I don't want to put pressure on him so soon, and I can't think of anyone better to ask to put some gadgets together." He smiled at his son who grinned.
"Okay dad!" he said, "Consider it done!"
Tyroth patted Loki's head.
"Thanks so much son!" he said, "I'm so grateful!"
"I'll start right away!" Loki announced jumping up from his bed and puffing up his chest with pride, "Then you can take them on your next mission!"
Well, it seems that Tyroth might have found a way to find the answers from his enemies through Loki's clever creations! And Loki's only too eager to begin!
Meanwhile Shredder is still a vegative state after being attacked by the Dragon, and Arashi is gloating over him, I have to admit I got inspiration from episodes of Transformers Prime when writing that scene!
