Sister fanfic: A Grand Order of Heroes(FeHxFGO)

A hail of arrows flies in the air, headed straight at their target. For a normal opponent, such an attack would have found purchase on where it was aimed, but this was no normal opponent.

This was Karna. Even if he was dressed differently, he was still a divine spirit who was easily able to keep up with his attacks. Even unarmed, the man was in no way impaired as his fists shot the arrows out of the sky like a certain Japanese swordsman would do to a swallow.

Seeing the man swat away his arrows like flies did not fill him with annoyance or anger, but rather indifference as Arjuna knew that his elder brother was just that formidable.

Arjuna momentarily glanced at his liege, the Queen Mebd and he was racked with guilt that he couldn't protect her from all those assailants, but he thought her summons would be enough to protect her.

"Is it truly wise to let yourself get distracted Arjuna?"

Alarm bells shot off inside his head, which made Arjuna tilt his head to the side and avoid a lethal blow to the head.

Karna had easily closed the distance between them, had taken advantage of his momentary distraction, and was now capitalizing on his broken guard by keeping up the momentum and throwing more punches at him.

Although Arjuna was an archer at the moment, he was not as defenseless in close combat as one would assume. He threw several quick jabs of his own, just to make Karna back off. It didn't work as well as he wanted to but he had to keep trying.

Unlike his lancer self, this Karna was not a conventional class. He was no berserker, given he was still sane.

An Avenger perhaps? It's possible given his black clothing strongly hints at the possibility. The idea of him being an assassin crossed his mind but he easily crushed that thought. Karna was many things, but a sneaky backstabber he was not.

But with all of those possible classes removed, what else was left?

Just… what is he?

Arjuna knew he could not allow him to stay at this distance but the limited space did not allow him liberty to run away. He was also no coward, as he was Arjuna, son of Indra. Like hell he would run away with his tail between his legs, especially from his brother.

So he dove under the next punch that came at him and took hold of Karna's arm in a lock, much to his surprise. Then he positioned his foot to trip Karna and allow him to tackle him to the ground.

Karna tripped, but he recovered much more easily than Arjuna anticipated.

He made some distance between them, but that was what Arjuna wanted and so he stepped back and readied his weapon, and manifested his next arrow, aimed straight at his brother's head.

As it was, the arrow would easily be destroyed by his fists, so Arjuna tried to buy some time.

"Color me surprised, I never expected to meet another version of you Karna."

"Yes. It is a coincidence, but as you can already guess, I am not a summon from this singularity, but rather a summon from outside."

That confirmed his suspicions but Arjuna didn't care how he came to be. Since he was talking, he might as well gather intel.

"Still, It's such a shame you weren't summoned in your archer form. If you had then this fight would have been much more even."

"Hmm. It is a pity that my current designation is of a Saber," Arjuna's eyes widened in disbelief at the mention that he was a saber, "however, what kind of Santa would I be if I don't beat the naughty out of people?"

Arjuna furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, "the what?"

"The naughty boys and girls who misbehaved during the year and expect a present," he clenched his fists, "leaving behind some coal in their stockings is not enough and thus I must beat the merry berry Christmas out of them so that they will not keep misbehaving."

Arjuna slightly lowered his bow, face riddled with perplexion at his brother's ranting.

"Are you sure you are not a berserker?"

"No. I am 100% bonafide saber, these fists are my blades," he reassumed his fighting pose and pointed one fist at him, "which I will now use to cut you down, as you are getting in my master's way."

Arjuna saw his change in demeanor and matched his pose with his own, "Well in that case you and I share another thing in common. You and your master are the greatest threat to my master and her new country, so I will be taking your life this time like I did in our legend, Karna."

Karna Santa's expression turned serious as he responded, "You might have beaten me in our legend, but now is different. For I have the powers of Christmas past, present, and future to empower me. I will not lose."

Arjuna decided to ignore Karna's ramblings again and locked eyes with his brother.

Tension fills the air.

After a moment of charged silence, they resumed their fighting.

Meanwhile, not far away, Mebd's Celtic warriors were locked in a fierce battle against the Chaldeans.

Despite having the numerical advantage, it was becoming evident that Mebd's forces were being pushed back. Feeling the tide turning against her, Mebd decided to play to her strengths.

Her eyes drifted towards the lone boy idling behind the girls he was hiding behind. Gudao, the last master of Chaldea. Mebd would admit, the boy is cute. That woman thought she would kill the boy for an easy victory but no. There were better methods to deal with men.

She continued staring at the boy until he noticed her gaze. He looked into her eyes, and the battle was now over.

She activated her skill and it instantly worked on the boy. The boy did have some resistance, given how he was defiantly shaking his head. But it wasn't good enough, as his free will only needed a push before it crumbled.

"Oh my, you have done such a wonderful job of getting here."

Gudao looked at the girl dumbly before pointing at himself, which caused Mebd to giggle.

"Of course, I'm referring to you. You are the only man in this room worth praising. To think a normal human could come this far. How truly manly of you."

The boy's face flushed in embarrassment, which only made her grin widen, "I mean, I can't take all the credit, everyone else did most of the work, I just tagged along."

"Nonsense, you worked so hard to get here, without you none of these… girls would have ever gotten here at all. Such displays of cunning and bravery should be rewarded. If you decide to join me I will reward you… handsomely."

She increased the intensity of her charm and made a seductive gesture for him to get closer to her, which worked since he started walking toward her.

"Gudao! What are you doing?!" Lyn the green-haired princess said, but Mebd didn't let Gudao out of his grasp and intensified her charm ability.

"Oh no! Gudao is in the effects of a charm skill! Someone snap him out of it!"

Gudao slowly walked toward Mebd, completely unable to resist her call.

"Senpai! Don't listen to her!" Mash, who managed to get close to him and dragged his butt further away.

Mebd clicked her tongue before deciding to forgo going easy and just used her charm to its full power, "Gudao honey, come hither, your Queen Mebd has a favor to ask of you."

Gudao's eyes glazed over, which brought a smile to her face.

"What do you need me to do?"

"Use your command seals and force these sluts to unalive themselves. They are starting to become a nuisance."

Gudao nodded, his hand poised to utter the necessary command, but before he could do so, something happened that no one could have predicted. The dragon girl got in front of Gudao.

"Sorry Ritsuka, but this is for you and everyone else's good," she muttered before she released her cocked fist and struck.

The sound of a fist hitting cloth and Gudao's groan of pain echoed in the room.

In a wild display of brutality, Corrin punched Gudao in the gut in such a way that caused him to snap out of his affliction but also caused him to faint.

"SENPAI!" Mash shrieked as she saw Gudao become limp like a wet noodle. When the shielder turned to glare at who hit him, her anger dissipated when she caught sight of the cold fury in Corrin's eyes.

"Guard him, Mash, guard him with your life. He is more of a liability with that woman around."

Corrin's voice was resolute as she looked at the shielder, who nodded vigorously.

Corrin turned to see Mebd, who was glaring at the woman who had successfully undone her charm.

Mebd sneered at Corrin and muttered, "You're such a buzzkill." She put her hand on her fist.

"You can't control him anymore, and now I am going to make you regret taking advantage of him, pinkie."

"Oh. How cute. So the brutish tomboy thinks she can protect her crush from being defiled by the big bad seductive queen." She brought her riding crop close to her face and stared at the girl with a smirk on her face. "Oh honey, your jealousy and your display of tough love is only going to make his corruption at my hands all the more enjoyable."

"If you lay a single hair on his spiky head," a torrent of blue energy, like water, surged forth around the dragon woman, "death will be the last thing you'll feel when I get my hands on you."

With a dismissive sniff, Mebd unleashed her power again, conjuring a fresh wave of Celtic warriors.

Corrin took a deep breath and let out a roar.

"GUAAHH"

Earth shook as a massive form fell to the ground. The aftershocks of the crash landing were loud enough to be heard for miles. The dirt plume that was kicked up by the impact was tall enough to eclipse the sun momentarily.

At the epicenter of the crater laid the Fell Dragon Grima, who was bruised and scratched but still alive. Its long wings were being twisted by a long tendril of flesh with many eyes.

The Fell Dragon was not one to give up so easily, so he thrashed in his binding in an effort to set himself free, but to no avail, as the tendrils had him snared like a rabbit caught by a python.

Amidst the chaos, the avatar of the Fell dragon gazed at the Demon God with eyes filled with intense hatred.

"You think this will be enough to detain ME? Don't make me laugh," Grima roared with defiance.

Summoning all his strength, Grima tensed his wing muscles, and slowly but surely the wings spread apart.

The demon pillar squeezed harder but fell short and was forced to release the dragon after receiving a rake of dragon claws across its form.

In a swift and powerful motion, Grima twisted his colossal body, transferring the momentum into his tail. The tail collided with the demon god pillar, cracking a few of its eyes as it flew away, creating a brief respite in the battle.

As the dust settled, Cu Alter, or rather Halfas, was squirming on the ground like a restless worm that had been pulled out of the earth.

"QUERY. WHY IS A PHANTASMAL COMPOSED OF SUCH CONCENTRATED HATRED FOR HUMANITY, HELPING THE VERY HUMANS HE DESPISES?"

Grima's avatar stared at the beast with half lidded eyes, "I know you are stalling. It's so obvious that you wish to waste my time with trivial questions but sure, I'll bite. It's only temporary. I still despise humans and hope to kill them all when the opportunity arises."

"SUGGESTION. THEN WHY NOT JOIN OURS AND OUR KING'S CAUSE? YOU COULD KILL ALL THE HUMANS THAT CURRENTLY EXIST, HAVE EXISTED, OR WILL EVER EXIST."

Grima, hummed as he tapped his chin while pondering the possibilities, and after a moment of silence, he responded, "Not interested."

Halfas's alien form made it impossible to tell what emotions it was feeling as it was a mass of flesh and unmoving eyes. His tone of voice, however, had no such limitations and it was easy to tell it was annoyed and frustrated by the answer the Fell Dragon gave it, "QUERY. Then why are you here?! For what reason does a being that has a seething hatred for humanity side with it?!"

"For fun," Grima replied with an unexpected casualness.

"...WHAT?" Halfas was taken aback.

Grima, the Fell Dragon's avatar, simply shrugged his shoulders and said, "I already managed to conquer my entire timeline. Crushing ants beneath my feet has gotten dull in recent years, and so I thought it would be fun to give the 'good guy' role a shot."

Halfas found this reasoning perplexing, stating, "ILLOGICAL. YOUR MOTIVES TO SAFEGUARD HUMANITY MAKE NO SENSE GIVEN YOUR DEEP HATRED OF THEM."

Grima challenged, "What? You so-called demon gods don't like to have fun once in a while?"

Halfas, with cold determination, responded, "CONCLUSION. BOREDOM IS A HUMAN EMOTION. WE DEMON PILLARS ONLY HAVE A SINGLE GOAL: TO ERADICATE HUMANITY AND MAKE IT ANEW. ANYTHING THAT DETRACTS FROM THE GOAL IS UNNECESSARY."

"Huh. And here I thought you and I would have things in common. Now I want to join you even less."

Suddenly, the demon god's eyes flashed in various patterns. Grima narrowed his eyes at what he saw. What was it playing at?

The flashing stopped, and he spoke to the draconic avatar with indifference. "I HAVE CHANGED DIRECTIVES, MY OFFER IS RESCINDED. DIE WITH ALL THE HUMANS YOU SIDE WITH 'FOR FUN.' PHANTASMAL."

"Well I'll take that droll name over Lizard, but it is still unfit for my presence so I am going to make you pay for your disrespect in pounds of your flesh."

Just as Grima was charging up a magical breath attack, he felt a large concentration of power coming from the west. A giant arrow came flying beyond the speed of sound, punching a hole straight through the demon god pillar.

"WHO DAres… guaahhh" the demon god pillar exploded, in a brilliant show of fireworks before dissipating just as fast.

"Well, that was disappointingly anti-climactic."

Grima looked to the west and narrowed his eyes to zoom in on the figure of a red-haired woman in the distance. The bow she just wielded was comically larger than her as it looked like she needed to use two hands to fire it.

Grima snorted at the goddess, who unbeknownst to him had avenged her dead husband, and returned his gaze to where the demon pillar once stood. His eyes caught a glimpse of something shiny at the epicenter. He moved toward it and he was surprised to see a golden chalice on the ground.

"So this is a holy grail huh? So much fuss over such a simple trinket." Grima picked up the chalice and his senses were immediately bombarded by the sheer amount of magical energy he was able to sense. His eyes widened in fascination as he held the mystical object in his hands. He let out a whistle, clearly impressed by what he saw, "All right, I can see why the humans and those things are making a big deal out of this." The artifact in his hands was so potent that it was easily able to fill the magical energy he wasted fighting that tendril of flesh.

A rather loud voice in his head demanded he acquire the grail for himself and conquer this world, but his analytical mind stopped him. Chaldea is going to be a problem.

If he decides to take the grail for himself, he will have an army of super-powered freaks to fight. He could easily take some of them in a fight, but not all of them at once, and especially those monsters who stood out among them. The demigods, goddesses, and especially those dragon slayers would pounce on him the moment he tried anything.

In his moment of introspection, he had failed to notice a certain blue-haired king sneak up behind him, up until the point he felt the annoying essence of Naga's presence pressed lightly on his neck.

"Don't even think about it. Hand it over.

"Think about what? I was only inspecting it. No nefarious purposes here." He tossed the grail to Marth, who caught it with his other hand.

Marth nodded and sheathed his blade before putting it away in his pouch, "let's head back to the main army. We still have some cleanup we must do before we head back to meet with Gudao and the rest."

Grima rolled his eyes at the blue swordsman but complied with his orders and followed behind him to rejoin the others, but before he did, he turned to the spot where Halfas died one last time and scoffed.

"It's quite the shame that goddess interrupted our fight by kill stealing you, oh great and mighty Demon God Pillar. I would have loved to be the one to tear you to shreds but we don't always get what we want."

Just as he made his way to leave, a wave of magical energy washed over the battlefield, Grima froze in place, his body able to sense the torrent of magical energy but unable to do anything about it.

Dozens of bright lights appeared all around him and Marth, but by the time Grima turned to see what had happened, they were now surrounded by demon god pillars.

"...looks like I spoke too soon."

"Gah,'' Queen Mebd gasped in shock as she felt a painful pressure in her neck. She looked down and to her horror, she saw a long beautiful blade covered in red blood. Her red blood, the blade had punctured through her neck and come out the other side.

She stared at the scene ahead of her and saw the corpses of all her best soldiers, all of them slowly dissipating. They were all killed by that dragon-

Mebd felt a burning, hot sensation in her stomach. The woman who she was just talking about had just cut her open with her blade.

Her body attempted to cough up the blood, but the sword in her neck prevented her from doing so.

"It's over, Medb, your reign of terror is at its end," Lyn declared and with that, she slowly pulled out her blade from her neck, causing a spray of blood to spurt from the servant.

Like a lifeless doll, her body weight caused her legs to crumble, and her form fell sideways into the ground.

"It's finally over." Gudao, who had awoken shortly ago, said with relief in his voice.

The static of a radio echoed in the chamber and a blue hologram of a man appeared, "Yeah, it is."

"How is the battle going on Edison's front?"

"They were at a stalemate, but now that Medb is dead, we should have this singularity resolved." The static voice of Roman said.

These fools believed she was dead? They thought their strife was over? Hah! Let them know despair at the hands of her Clan Calatin. Using the last bit of her magical energy, Medb's body began to shine brightly. This action startled everyone, as they believed her dead.

But she wasn't, and instead, she gave them an evil smirk.

It's too bad they cut her throat open, else she would have gloated about what she just unleashed.

Oh well, time to head back to the throne.

'I hope we see each other again, my lovely Cu. It was fun…'

She dissipated into motes of light.

"What just happened?!" Mash asked Romani.

"I don't know… wait… WHAT?"

"What's happening?"

"Gudao you need to book it to Edison's army, 28 Demon God Pillars just spawned out of nowhere and are driving everyone back!"

Rip and tear.

Rip and tear.

This is all Grima has been doing since the Demon Pillars arose from the battlefield and attacked him.

They all aimed specifically at him and made the effort to render him to paste.

Seeing that, Grima started to unleash more of his power while also slicing, shredding, and biting hunks of flesh from these beasts with his claws and teeth.

Despite managing to rip out chunks of flesh, none were worse for wear as they all tanked his natural weapons and regenerated the damage like nothing. They were in every way shape, and form just as troublesome to deal with as Halfas was.

"Tch. Annoying worms."

Grima suddenly felt his leg be snared by a tendril of flesh. He instinctively slashed at the mass of flesh.

It took him only two slashes to break from its grasp, but just as soon as he freed himself, another tendril latched onto the very arm he used to rip himself away.

Undeterred, Grima used his left claw to violently grip the flesh pillar but this time he failed to rip it apart as it too was caught, then a barrage of tendrils surged forth and grabbed every appendage and part of Grima. His legs, wings, torso, and even his neck. Every part of the dragon that could be gripped, was gripped, leaving the mighty Fell Dragon completely immobile.

Then, the tendrils tensed and started to strangle every point of contact.

Grima let out a thunderous roar in defiance and tried to release a beam of magical energy from his mouth, but his mouth was forced shut by another tendril coiling around his mouth, muzzling him and interrupting his attack.

The tension the massive dragon undertook caused his bones to creak, his scales to crack and finally, in an explosion of violence, the dragon broke, its life essence showering the armies underneath with a red rain of blood.

The demon god pillars were not done and flung the gigantic pieces of dragon at the enemy, killing both Risen and Celtic warriors, as well as machines and human soldiers fighting against the unending horde.

Yet despite this massive loss, Grima was still alive. His body was now covered in head to toe of his giant dragon form's blood, his body shaped unnaturally due to the trauma his body suffered after falling from a massive height.

Coincidentally, he also fell near where Lucina and Helena were. The former winced at the sudden arrival of her hated foe, while the latter stared at the body in disappointment.

"Well, he put on a good show, but I think it's safe to say the plan has backfired," she looked at the blue princess who looked conflicted about seeing Grima in such a state, "What now? Your so-called Fell Dragon of Ruin just fell on his ass after it got whooped."

" . that pun was so funny I forgot to laugh. "

"Kya!" Helena nearly dropped her book in horror as she saw Grima getting back up from his grievous state like it was nothing.

"But the child has a point."

"I am NOT a child-" Helena tried to interject, but Grima ignored her and continued, "These things, while susceptible to my attacks, are quite durable and capable enough to shrug off the damage with their, and excuse my lack of tact for saying this, bullshit regeneration ability."

He looked at the sky filled with those tendrils filled with thousands of eyes and scoffed. He hates to admit it, but this many beasts were too much for him to handle at once. One or two he could have worn them down due to his immortality, but there were dozens of these bastards out there.

They easily subjugated his ultimate form with less than a tenth of their number. Grima inherited Robin's tactician thinking, but aside from a full-on retreat, which to an outsider's point of view was impossible since they were surrounded, or so it would seem.

"Well, it looks like there is no other option left." Grima turned to face the white-haired man who suddenly appeared next to the group, "your turn, demigod."

"Indeed. You have fought well dragon, but you can all leave it to me." Karna said, before looking at Presiking Edison, who was looking at him with a frown on his face.

"Godspeed my friend. Your sacrifice will not be in vain."

Karna nodded at him which prompted Edison to order a full-on retreat.

"Dragon. Please forgive my impudence, but I must ask for your aid once more." Edison asked Grima.

"Yeah yeah, I know. It was part of the deal Lion Man. And I am a man of my word," Grima casually moved his hands and in an instant, teleported everyone, including himself, out of the battlefield.

Karna grinned seeing his comrades taken to safety before looking at the scene before him, closed his eyes, and chanted: [There is no room for hesitation on the battlefield.]

He opened his eyes again and this time, they were white-hot like the sun, his eyes turning white and temperature increasing drastically. Steam rose from the ground due to the water in the stone under his feet evaporating.

He raised his arms and the sky and the eye of Indra bore down the American plains, and at the area where its gaze fell, a lance of ultimate power came into existence, and just like that, the sky gained a second sun.

The Demon God Pillars flinched at the sheer, raw power Karna exuded, but his chanting continued as he gently flew into the air and stopped at a decent height off the ground, [My father, forgive me. This will be my first and final strike.]

The spurs behind his back opened, and he pointed his spear around the largest gathering of Demon God Pillars.

[End everything,]

[Vasavi... Shakti!]

And just like that, the demon pillars were destroyed in an explosion of hot molten rock.

Grima and the others had teleported miles away from the epicenter, but even they could see, feel, and hear the massive explosion that came from where they once stood.

Author's Note: Thanks for having patience with me, sorry it isn't 6k words, but I was struggling to include some things into the chapter without making it seem shoehorned in(or at least too shoehorned in because I wanted Sita to avenge her husband by killing the guy who made him go through so much suffering.)

There's only a chapter of the sidestory left before I move on the main story and continue the mini Chibi Nobu arc.

After that, the last chapter will be a huge omake containing snippets of stuff I get from your suggestions and stuff I wanted to write but was unable to include because it was too outlandish or unlikely to occur in the context of this story.

Thanks again for reading and be sure to like and comment if you liked the story or if you have some critiques to share. Until next time.
