A/N: Just a quick announcement, I am now happy to take suggestions for future prompts, I already have ideas down but anybody who wants to put forward an idea is welcome to do so. you can either put it in a review or do so by private messaging me.
This one is a bit different, the prompt is if Harry had been smarter and talked to Ginny more about what happened in the chamber. contains fluff and a small bit of smut (nothing to descriptive)
*
Harry stumbled towards Ginny's unconscious body a wound in his arm that had been pierced by a basilisk fang.
"Looks like little Ginevra here will die with you, how fitting just like when I killed your parents." Voldemort taunted.
Harry took a hold of the basillisk fang and grabbed the Diary and plunged it into the book as Tom screamed in pain before bursting into light particles.
Ginny then groaned as she got up and everything hit her, a single tear fell down everything Tom had left a scar in her mind she pulled her knees to her head.
"Gin." Harry said cautiously.
Ginny looked up.
"It was me Harry I was possessed by Tom." Ginny said shaking before freezing in shock as she saw Harry's injury.
"Harry your hurt." Ginny said tears in her eyes
Harry just shook his head "head back through the chamber and you'll find Ron."
"I won't leave you." Ginny said loudly not moving
Fawkes at that moment appeared beside Harry.
"You were amazing Fawkes I just wasn't quick enough." Harry said smiling trying not to think how in about a minute he would be dead.
Fawkes knelt over Harry's wound and poured tears onto it and it began to heal until there was only a scar from the puncture.
Harry looked up at Ginny "its fine Ginny it's all over."
Ginny nodded and burrowed her head into Harry's side, they both headed out back to where Ron was.
When they arrived Ron had managed to dig out a small hole for them to fit through.
"Ginny thank goodness." Ron said relieved hugging her.
They separated and Ginny clung to Harry as Fawkes held put his leg and Harry took it, they decided to take lockhart with them and explain what he had tried to do.
Once they exited the chamber, they made their way to Dumbledore's office.
When Harry entered with Ginny clung to him and Ron and Lockhart behind him with Fawkes on his shoulder, Mrs Weasley cried in relief as she gave her daughter a bone crushing hug.
"Oh Ginny I was so worried." Mrs. Weasley said
Arthur then hugged Ginny as the other Weasley's were there, even Bill and Charlie who saw the closeness between their sister and Harry.
"I think something we would all like to know is what happened tonight?" Dumbledore asked his eyes twinkling.
Harry placed the diary on Dumbledore's desk and turned to the room, he explained everything that had transpired how Lockhart tried to wipe their memories, how Ginny had been fighting off Voldemort an entire year, how he stabbed the basillisk with the sword of Gryffindor and how Fawkes had healed his wound from the basillisk.
After explaining what had happened Dumbledore said that Ginny should go to the hospital wing and Harry requested to go with her and the headmaster agreed.

Harry stated with Ginny the whole night, she was too tired and emotionally distraught to talk about what happened, but Harry would be there for her no matter what, she was the only other person whose very soul had been touched by Voldemort at a young age and he wasn't about to let her deal with it alone.
Ginny was shivering in her hospital bed, her skin was still pale and she was muttering under her breath. Harry wssnt the greatest with comforting gestures but he found himself running his hand in her flaming red hair, Ginny seemed to still and tuck herself in fully, sleeping soundly.
Harry made sure to stay with her as long as possible, they would both need each other in the long run.

"Let's go find a compartment." Said Ron, as he motioned to Harry and Hermione to have a look at the compartments.
"What about Ginny?" Asked Harry, looking at her, she was clearly upset that they were going to ditch her.
"we don't need her with us, she can be with her year." Said Ron gruffly.
"Oh thank you Ronald!' snarled Ginny. "i just go find all those friends I made in first year won't I, after all it was a great year, wasn't it!"
she stomped away from them as quickly as she could and found herself in a compartment on her own.
Harry meanwhile gave Ron a dirty look, along with Hermione. "that was incredibly tactless of You Ron, do you not remember last year."
Ron had downcast look. "I forgot."
"Well that's good isn't it, now I'm going to find Ginny and bring her to our compartment and you are going to apologise, she hasn't got anyone in her year and I promised Ginny that I would be there for her after the chamber incident." He said before turning away to find Ginny.
"Why does he feel compelled to help her so much?" Asked Ron. "it's should be my job more than his."
Hermione gave him a sympathetic look. "Because Ron, Ginny is the only one who has been attacked and had their innocence robbed of them from Voldemort, he probably feels that no one else can understand him, Ginny probably feels the same."
"I have been a git haven't I." Said Ron.
"Yes you have," Hermione responded. "But at least you realised."
Meanwhile Harry had found that Ginny had found herself a solitary compartment away from other people, she had curled herself up into a ball and was currently observing the English countryside.
"Ginny." said Harry as he opened the door. "is it alright if I come in?"
she turned to him, her face red with already she'd tears. "Sure."
Harry closed the door and shut the flaps so that they had a bit more privacy. "I'm sorry about Ron."
"its okay, he probably doesn't understand." Said Ginny simply.
"I'm always here for you, you know that right?" Asked Harry as he sat down opposite her.
"I know." She said looking at him. "but he has a point, I don't have any friends in my year, no one is going to want to know me much after what happened."
"They will in time Ginny, you are a strong, brave woman who has been through alot, but you'll find people who will appreciate you and want to know you." He said gingerly.
"Can I come with you to your compartment?" Asked Ginny after a moments silence.
Harry smiled. "Of course you can."
Harry held out his hand for Ginny to take and the two of them made their way back to the compartment where Ron, Hermione and a shabby looking bloke was sleeping, a travel cloak covering his body.
"Ron has something to say." said Hermione as she looked over at him.
"I'm sorry Ginny," said Ron. "I shouldn't be so quick to dismiss you."
"it's okay," said Ginny as she went and hugged her older brother. "I forgive you."
Harry smiled, hopefully things would start to get better for Ginny.

"Hey." Said Harry, seeing Ginny in the common room past midnight.
Ginny whipped her head around, her flaming red hair dancing across her face as she looked at him. "Hey, what brings you down here so late?"
"Well I ask the same about you," said Harry as he sat down next to her. "But since you asked first, I was having nightmares."
"it's the same for me," she said, there was another moment of silence where they stared at the fireplace in the Gryffindor common room. "Do you want to talk about it?" She asked timidly.
Harry sighed and turned to face her. "Ever since our encounter with the dementors on the train, I keep seeing my mother, followed by a flash of green light."
Ginny nodded. "The dementors take your worst memory and play it out repeatedly."
"What about yours?" Asked Harry.
"My nightmares are all about the chamber," said Ginny. "The dementors have only made them get worse, now its different."
Ginny sniffed and shook her head. "every night, I keep having nightmares that everyone who got petrified, died and that you died saving me."
Harry immediately wrapped his arms Round Ginny as she sniffed, she didn't sob but there were a few tears and Harry admired how she kept going strong depsite what had happened to her. "I'm not going anywhere Ginny, you know that I beat him that day, you didn't kill anyone, the basilisk petrified them, you were under his influence."
"I know, but I still look at Hermione and feel riddled with guilt, even though she states that it isn't my fault." She said.
"Dumbledore said before, many wizards and witches that are wiser and older and more powerful than you have fallen prey to Voldemort, and have usually died, you held him off for nearly a year," he smiled at her. "it shows that you are the strongest person I know."
"I'm not Harry," said Ginny but she had a small smile dancing on her lips. "but I appreciate hearing it from you."
"Always the humble one." Said Harry with a chuckle.
"You know it." She said, shoving his shoulder playfully.
Harry made sure to never keep secrets from Ginny, when they found out about what really happened between Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew the night that Harry's parents died and that Pettigrew had in fact betrayed Harry's mum and dad and that Sirius was innocent, Harry immediately told her all about how they helped him escape.
"So Hermione had a time turner the whole time?" Asked Ginny in amazement.
"Yeah," said Harry. "Ron and I were so confused at how she was round and then just dissapeared and reappearing somewhere else."
"The Quidditch world Cup is taking place in England this summer." Said Ginny. "Dad's got tickets."
"That's great," said Harry. "Is there an extra one for me?"
"Of course there is you prat," said Ginny. "Dad helped Ludo Bagman, the head of Magical sports and games department out of some trouble and got rewarded with tickets to the ministers box."
"That's great." said Harry
When they finally made it to King's Cross last, Harry hugged Ginny goodbye as she whispered to him.
"You'll write as much as possible?" asked Ginny hopefully.
"Of course." Said Harry as he hugged her.
As he did, Ginny slipped a small package wrapped in parchment, he was confused hut when she left to catch up with the Weasley's after he said goodbye to them. He opened the brown package and grinned when he saw his favourite, a large treacle tart from the kitchens of Hogwarts.
The parchment had some writing on.
Harry
You have been a great friend and I am so thankful that you took the time to get to know me more in spite of what happened last year, Gred and Forge managed to show me where the kitchens were before the year ended, you can ask them where it is when you come over for the summer. I got this for you from the kitchens after I asked for an extra large treacle tart, it's got some everlasting preservation charms on it as well.
Love from Ginny.
Your favourite Weasley. (I better be your favourite Potter!)
Harry grinned at the letter as he packaged the treacle tart back up and made his through the platform barrier. Just a summer with the Dursley's that was waiting for him.

Harry had found it incredibly funny when he saw the look on his Uncle and Aunt's faces when the fireplace had practically blown up as Arthur Weasley appeared from the flames of the fireplace.
One by one, more redheads appeared from the fireplace, Harry counted that Fred, George, Ron and...
Ginny.
Harry grinned at Ginny when he saw her as Arthur Weasley apologised to the Weasley's for practically blowing up there living room, with a few flicks of his wand the room began to repair itself until it looked completely untouched and back to its normal self. For some reason Harry felt she looked different, part of it maybe because he hadn't seen her for a month and maybe she had just grown a bit, bit Harry felt it was more than that.
Harry gathered his trunk and they all used the floo to get back to the Burrow, Harry was happy to be back at a place that had been like a second proper home, after Hogwarts.
Harry saw two red headed men that he didn't recognise but assumed they must be the eldest of the Weasley children, Bill and Charlie.
"Harry," said one of them, he was tall and looked to be the oldest, he had his hair slightly longer than Ron's or the twins and he had a fang in his ear. "Pleased to meet you, I'm Bill."
Harry shook his hand and smiled at Bill, he had heard a lot about him from Ginny who had secretly told him she was his favourite. He turned to who he assumed was Charlie.
"Names Charlie," he said with a smile, Harry shook his hand and was shocked at how strong Charlie was with his grip, he was short but had a stocky, muscular build, he had a few burn scars on his hands and Harry suspected that was because he worked with Dragons in Romania.
After greeting the eldest Weasley brothers, Harry took his trunk all the way up to Ron's room, where a spare bed had been setup for him, he smiled to himself as placed some of his belongings on his bed.
Later that evening Harry found that he was finding sleep difficult, he was restless and kept tossing and turning in bed. He quietly made his way down the stairs into the kitchen to get a glass of water.
He was surprised to that Bill and Charlie were down there, it had just gone past midnight and they were still up, Harry noted the bottle of firewhisky beside them as they talked quietly to each other.
"Harry?" Asked Bill when he saw him. "What are you doing up so late?"
"couldn't sleep." He said as he poured some water from the tap into a small glass for himself. "You?"
"Charlie and I wanted to catch up, but since you are here do you mind if we talk?" Asked Bill.
"no." Said Harry as he pulled up a chair for himself.
Bill flicked his wand at the door to the stairs and the living room. "Just some silencing charms."
"So Harry," began Charlie, turning to him. "We wanted to personally say how thankful we are that you saved Ginny."
"it was nothing," said Harry blushing. "I would have gone down to save anyone who was there."
"Maybe," said Bill. "But you have also been talking with her about her nightmares and I am glad she's got someone else talking to her, when she came to Egypt she was very quiet and not the fun-loving, energetic and comedic little sister I remembered, I talked to her but I haven't gone through what you have so there was only so much I could do."
Harry smiled. "You shouldn't tell anyone, bit Ginny seems to be fonder of you and Charlie more than her other brothers."
"Charlie and I always used to okay with her when she was younger, she would always tell us everything, she did so with dad after we left." said Bill.
Charlie spoke up as well. "Look we just wanted to say that whatever happens between you and Ginny, you are a part of this family. When I heard you were coming over I first thought that you would be a spoilt little brat who would lord his fame over everyone."
"I would-" began Harry.
"We now know you were never like that," said Bill assuringly. "but when I heard how you were brought up we realised that you must be tired of it all."
"I don't want to be famous for quite frankly a fluke." Said Harry.
Bill nodded and they lapsed into silence as Harry drank some of his water.
"We would like to know if there is anything going on between you and our sister." Said Charlie with a raised eyebrow.
"And why would you like to know that?" Said a familiar voice.
Harry grinned as he turned to see Ginny, her hands were on her hips as she glared at Charlie and Bill in a manner similar to her mother, making her all the more frightening.
"you were saying." She said pointedly to Bill and Charlie.
"How were you able to listen in?" Asked Charlie.
"Bill taught me in Egypt how to disable charms and wards." She said as she sat down next to Harry.
"you always wer mischievous firecracker." Said Bill with a grin.
"We were just saying that Harry is a great bloke Gin-bug." Said Charlie as he put Ginny in a playful headlock and ruffled her messy hair.
the two playfully wrestled and Harry laughed at the siblings as they engaged in playful activities.
Well I hope you were you two, otherwise I may have to resort to a bat-bogey hex." She said warningly.
Bill and Charlie paled considerably as Ginny left with Harry in tow.
"I'm sorry if they were saying anything stupid." Said Ginny as they stopped outside her room.
"No its fine, they were saying how surprised they were with my attitude when they first met me, and they were both grateful I was there for you." He said with a smile.
"Bill was great at helping, but he wasn't you Harry." She said. "He was my favourite but none of them understood like you did."
she wrapped her arms around him in a tight and warm hug, Harry's nostrils were filled with her flowery scent and he found himself really liking the close contact, much more than he could remember.
"Goodnight Harry." She said before dissapearing into her room.
*
The Yule ball was fast approaching and Harry had never been more nervous in his life, over the past few months since the Quidditch world Cup he had begun appreciate one of his best friend a lot more than he normally did.
He found himself often staring at Ginny's flaming red hair as it danced when she walked, her body had begun to mature and Harry noticed the curves of her body were much more prevalent, so much so that they could be noticed through the oppressing nature of the Hogwarts uniform.
Ginny seemed to be with a group of girls for a good portion of time, Harry wished that she was alone and that he could just ask her. Luckily for him, an opportunity presented itself.
He was making his way to the owlery to send a letter to Sirius about how to figure out the egg when he glanced a glimpse of red before bumping into someone.
"Ow," the girl cried out.
"I'm sorry," said Harry. "Oh Hi Ginny." when he recognised who she was.
"Got something on your mind?" She asked, now ignoring that he had just headbutted her by accident.
"I do actually," he said trailing off, his eyes glancing at her breasts, she only had her shirt on.
"Well would you like to tell me, or is it a secret?" She asked.
"umm..." Said Harry, suddenly feeling like his stomach was being twisted into a rope. "I was wondering... ifyouwouldliketobemydatefortheball."
"Harry, I can't tell what you are saying when you talk faster than you can fly." She said, though Harry swore he saw a teasing smile dancing on her lips.
"Wod you like to be my date for the ball?" Asked Harry.
"I'd love too." She said, then she realised that she didn't have dress robes. "Shit I don't own a dress."
"its fine," said Harry. "we can go to Hogsmeade."
Harry ended up convincing Ginny to let him pay for it, Ginny looked rather put out and very unwilling to accept but in the end she ahd no choice as Harry paid the cashier, though she was very happy with her new dress and couldn't wait to try it on.
*
"Do they really have to take this long?" Said Harry to Ron on the evening of Christmas day, whilst the celebrations were amazing, Harry found that girls taking this long too prepare made him nervous.
it was several minutes before Ginny came down the stairs to the girls dormitories and Harry's mouth practically hit the floor when he saw her.
Ginny looked amazing, her dress was almost made for her, it showed off her curves in a very appreciative way, her hair was done up in a ponytail and she had applied a bit of makeup.
"You'll catch flies Potter." Said Ginny as she smiled at him.
"Shall we." He said, once again his eyes flickered down to her cleavage, something that the dress showed off very well.
"Lead the way." She said with a grin.

After hours of dancing, drinking (not alcohol) and enjoying a good time with a beautiful woman, Harry found himself gently swaying to the now slow music, his hands on Ginny's waist as her hands were around his neck.
"I really enjoyed tonight." She said with a genuine smile.
"I did as well, I'm glad you said yes." Said Harry with a grin.
"What got you all happy like this?" Asked Ginny.
"I'm dancing with a pretty woman, to some slow music and I feel like this may be the most normal teenage year I can have." he said to which Ginny blushed at the compliment.
"not much competition for a normal year is there." She said with a teasing smirk and Harry chuckled.
as they lapsed into silence, Harry's eyes flickered to her soft, red lips and Ginny seemed look at him with a similar look of desire, neither of then registered that there bodies moved closer together until Harry could feel her stomach pressing against him.
They both blushed and Harry looked her in the eyes. "Ginny?"
"Yes Harry?" She said, her eyes locking with his.
"I think... I like you," he said. "a lot."
Ginny smiled and continued to sway with him. "Well Harry, I think that I may just like you back," her smile got even brighter. "a lot."
Harry grinned and before he knew it, his lips were on hers, Kissing Ginny made his insides turn to mush, the feeling of her lips on his felt like fireworks were exploding in his brain, one of his hands ran through her sweet smelling hair as the other rested firmly on her waist.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" Asked Harry.
"if that wasn't enough Potter, then you are denser than you look." Ginny teased as she leaned into kiss him again.

Harry had felt the year had been going great, he was dating the woman he fancied, he had been doing well in his classes. His and Ginny's relationship was developing and they had revealed it to everyone after they practically snogged upon Harry pulling her from the depths of the black lake.
But that had all been shattered in the aftermath of the third task as he lay in the hospital wing, Voldemort had returned.
Not only that but Cedric Diggory was murdered in cold blood right infront of him, the green flash was haunting him more in his dreams.
Ginny came round to see him and Harry just embraced her as he sobbed, the death of a good student by the man who had killed his parents had changed him.
"I'll always be here for you." Said Ginny softly in Harry's ear as she hugged him tighter.
When Harry first got to know her, he was someone she could talk to, now it was her turn to be someone he could talk to.
A/N: I was contemplating doing fifth and sixth year but I will leave that to the imagination of my readers unless you guys really want a part two later on, the future years would mostly be the same so I will leave it here for now. Hope you enjoyed.
