Entry 6: Emergency Substitute

O.O.O

Setting: Crystal Tokyo Era

Warning: This one involves dissociation disorder. If that's too triggering of a subject you may want to skip this one.

O.O.O

I'm going to rock your world tonight, Minako texted on her data crystal. She would usually wear a devilish smile the entire time she sent the message but she needed to maintain professionalism. Especially given her current location.

"Neon-Qween Sewenity," A little voice screamed with joy. The voice belonged to a four year old with an IV in his arm. "I missed you."

"I missed you too Jun-kun," Serenity sang as she smiled at the young boy. Her attention turned to the rest of the children in the room. "I missed you all. I'm so happy to see your recoveries are going so well."

Minako did her best to maintain a stoic bodyguard stance (which came from years of watching her husband) but it was always hard in this situation. The Queen's weekly visits to the children ward of Crystal Tokyo Central Hospital was one of the highlights in both of their schedules. It often caused an argument with the rest of the team about who would have the honor of escorting the Queen to visit the children. Everyone in the royal court agreed seeing the Queen interact with the children showed her at her best.

Minkao tried to stay on her guard but it was hard to see any threat coming from so many innocent faces. It was even harder when a young girl presented Minako with a drawing of her holding hands with the Queen and Minako. The piece of art would be added to the private wing of the place where all the different fan letters and artwork hung. Frankly, it made Minako question why they needed to buy high end art at all.

Before long the visit was over the Queen had said her farewells and she and Mianko were in the elevator heading towards the exit.

"The children are all receiving exceptional care," Mianko reported as the Queen admired the pile of drawings she had received from the children. "All donations seem to be going to the necessary research and dare of the children."

"Fantastic," Serenity cooed, her eyes glued on the artwork. "Everything is peaceful and everyone is happy. It's all so..perfect. So…perfect."

Minako's eyes went wide and a chill ran up her spine at the Queen's words. She noticed the dazed look in the Queen's eyes.

"It's not…," The Queen muttered, letting all the drawings fall from her grasp. "It can't be real. Galaxia killed…killed everyone…This can't be happening…"

"Usagi!" Minako shouted, grabbing her friend by the shoulders. She stared into her eyes trying to obtain a connection. "I want you to take a deep breath. In through the nose and out through the mouth. Then tell me three things you see around you."

"It's not real," Serenity whispered as she fell to her knees. Her entire body began to shake and she hugged herself. "This kingdom, this life…it can't exist."

"It does exist!" Mianko insisted, kneeling next to her friend. "You defeated Galaxia and found a way to bring us all back. You got married to the man of your dreams and he had to heal a hickey this morning he gave to you from last night. You're a mother. We both are."

"Mamoru died. You all died and were thrown into the Cauldron," Minako replied, placing a finger to the device in her ear. "Goddess of Love to Crystal Base. Goddess of Love to Crystal Base. The sea of tranquility has stopped moving. I repeated, the sea of tranquility has stopped moving."

Minako reached up and pressed the stop button on the elevator. She pulled Serenity close and hugged her tight. Minako began stroking her best friend's hair.

"Hang in there Usagi-chan," Minako whispered, leaning against the wall of the elevator as she continued to hold Serenity. "We'll get you to the King and he'll take care of everything. Just like always."

"I could never," Serenity began, her tears falling from her eyes. "Be a good Queen…I could never…"

"You are an amazing Queen," Minako reminded her friend. "You just have times where everything feels too good to be true. Trust me I feel it some days. I wake up every morning to a man who loves me with all his soul, I have two amazing kids, and I work with my best friend to help keep peace throughout the world. Some days it feels like a dream for me too."

"Goddess of Wisdom to Goddess of Love," Ami's voice called from the ear piece. "Goddess of Love, come in."

"Goddess of Love here," Minako replied as she pressed on her earpiece. "Me and the Moon Lady are in the elevator. Do you have an exit for us?"

"We have cleared the ground floor out," Ami reported. "Come on down and we'll get the Queen out of here."

"Got it," Minako acknowledged, shifting to turn the elevator back on. With a shake the metal box again clicked on and continued to the ground floor. When the doors opened Ami and Makoto were standing at the ready.

"Upsy-daisy," Makoto announced, reaching down and picking up the Queen bridal style. "I got you Queenie."

"Mamo…Mamo…," Serenity whimpered as her head rested on Makoto's shoulder. "She took my Mamo."

"Your Mamo is fine," Makoto explained, heading towards the exit with the Queen in tow. "As a matter of fact were' going to see him now"

"It has been a while since the last episode," Ami remarked as she pulled out her pocket computer and began to tap on it. "6 months actually. That's improvement."

"Only because she's been stressed by the tabloids getting a hold of that sex tape of Seiya and the alien shapeshifter taking Usagi's form. "Minako scoffed, shaking her head. "Looks like our day's been shaken to holy hell."

"I've moved things around to escort you for the rest of the Queen's appointments," Ami announced, pulling out her mini computer.

"That's my cue! Crescent Moon Power, Transform me into Neo-Queen Serenity!" Minako shouted, raising her crescent compact high. IN a flash of light, the form of Minako in her bodyguard pants suit was replaced with Neo-Queen Serenity in her signature gown. Doing a twirl to check the transformation, the disguised Senshi glanced at her friend. "Alright what's on the schedule?"

"You have an online meeting with the delegates from the Teegarden system," Ami explained, reading off the itinerary.

"Boring," The disguised Minako sighed.

"You have a bridge game with the ladies of Crystal Tokyo Neighborhood Alliance," Ami added.

"Double boring," Minako commented.

"And you have to make an appearance at the new wing of the art museum and inspect the new displays," Ami finished, closing her computer.

"Any nude artwork?" Minkao asked.

Ami shook her head.

"Triple boring," The fake Serenity groaned, throwing back her head. Straightening up, she slapped her cheeks and pumped her arms. "I got this Ami-chan! Let's go!"

As she headed towards the car, Minako pulled out her data crystal and sent another message to Kunzite. 'Small hiccup to my day but I'm still going to rock your world tonight.'

O.O.O

Kunzite glanced at the clock on the wall for the third time in 10 seconds. He had heard about the incident with the Queen and knew it meant his wife would have to step in to take care of her responsibilities for the day. He knew exactly how taxing it was for her and it always made him worry how stressed she would be when she returned home.

A few seconds later, Neo-Queen Serenity stumbled into the room, pulled the ring off her finger, and tossed it on the coffee table. The ring turned into a crescent shaped compact and the form of the queen in her gown was replaced with one of Minako with her bodyguard pants suit.

"How'd it go?" Kunzite asked, clearing his throat.

"Good…good," Minako grumbled, doing her best to stay on her feet. She removed her blazer and let it drop to the ground. "Let's get it…it on…I'm gonna rock..."

"Mina-chan," Kunzite chuckled, shaking his head. "Don't push yourself. Let's just call it a night."

"No no," Minako whimpered as she fell against Kujnzite's chest. Her fingers were doing her best to fumble with the buttons on her blouse. "I'm ready for you and…and you're hard…"

"You're exhausted," Kunzite remarked, reaching down and picking up Minako.

"I'm the goddess of love," Minako whined, her hands getting tangled between undoing the buttons on the blouse and the front clasp of her bra. "I was made…to rock your world…It's against my honor not to…"

"You did amazing, my love," Kunzite insisted, kissing the top of Minako's head as he placed her gently on the bed. "You need rest. I promise sexy times will come before you know it."

"Fine…," Minako agreed, going limp and letting her husband undress her for bed. She hated when duty took priority over her love life but she thanked the stars for having a husband who was beyond understanding of the situation.

O.O.O

A/N: 6 for 7. I know it's late but family stuff came up for Halloween and it took a moment to get back on track with my writing. So sorry…but I'm sure you know how it goes.

This will serve as a prologue to a future Royal Affairs entry. It comes from a Sailor Headcanon entry on Tumblr which said:

The worst thing that ever happened to Usagi was in Stars, in the period where she thought Mamoru was alive (and ignoring her) after we knew he had been killed by Galaxia. Even in the future in Crystal Tokyo, Usagi dissolves into tears just thinking about how she had to suffer like that. She never really gets over it; her worst nightmare came true when she was only 16. Not to mention the death of her friends and the traumatic fight against Shadow Galactica and Chaos. Usagi's subconscious protected her from the shock of Mamoru's death back then, but now there's a part of NQS that wonders if the utopia she built is real at all. In the back of her mind, she wonders if her subconscious is protecting her again from a grimmer reality… because the idea of a utopia after everything she's been through seems too good to be true at times.

During moments where Usagi has these episodes it is Minako's dirty to act as a decoy so the public isn't aware of her condition. It will be a later entry (I have others planned out first).

Reviews are love and they keep me going.
