Lizel Himekami had headed to Barbatos' room in Yuuto's place. She had decided it would be better for him to get some first aid before they go to a hospital.

Miyabi was also left in the Palace to get first aid, and Reina was left to take care of these 2. It had been quite troublesome to get Miyabi off of Yuuto when they arrived in the Palace, but she had been behaving when Lizel left.

Lizel knocked on the door to Barbatos' office and waited for him to tell her to come in. He was still expecting Yuuto, but Lizel figured she could handle any discussions they would have had.

"Oh, Lizel. Is Yuuto 'busy'?"

"He's receiving first aid. He was supposed to have gone to the hospital long ago by now."

"Ah, sorry about that. I needed to keep him for a while."

Lizel took a seat in front of the headmaster's desk. She seemed so graceful it even made Barbatos a little ashamed of his sloppy appearance.

"So? What did you want to talk about with Yuuto? I'll help with whatever I can, but I'll also inform him of everything."

"Well, there were 2 things I wanted to talk about with Yuuto. The first was in regards to yesterday's incident."

Of course, Lizel remembered what Barbatos was talking about. She had read about Disasters before, but it was her first time actually experiencing one.

Since over 2000 years ago, such Disasters have been happening both in the Human and Devil Worlds. Unlike natural disasters like earthquakes, hurricanes and others, these things simply called Disasters began suddenly and ended just as quickly as they began.

The biggest difference between natural disasters and Disasters was that one had a logical explanation, and the other didn't. For example, one might be able to predict an earthquake if they observe tectonic plates, but something like what happened in Ginsei Academy yesterday was impossible to predict.

It doesn't matter if one looked for it now or in the past, other than the burned marks, no one would find any evidence of the lava that had been in Ginsei Academy yesterday. There was no rhyme or reason behind the Disasters.

Of course, some believed that Disasters were simply natural disasters that the cause had yet to be discovered, but there are also other beliefs. For example, some believe it's a power the Devil King holds, some believe it's a weapon being developed, and some even blame God for this.

"If you were planning on inviting Yuuto to join some group that helps Disaster victims, I'll have to decline in his place. Yuuto can't afford to divide his focus during the Devil King War."

"That wasn't my intention. I just wanted to tease him a bit. Like, drop a few hints as to the real origin and cause of the Disasters. But since it's Lizel who came, I won't do that. You would figure it out too easily."

"You mean you've figured out the origin and cause of the Disasters?!"

Barbatos spoke that so casually that Lizel could barely believe it. It was as if some drunkard had said they'd stumbled on the cure for cancer or something.

But thinking logically, this man is the Devil King. What's more, he broke the rule that said that all other Candidates must have died for a new Devil King to be crowned. Regardless of his appearance, he seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

"… So what is it?"

"I'm not telling. It would be fun to tease Yuuto, but if I gave those hints to Lizel you'd figure it out too quickly."

Even now, Lizel got to thinking. Did this mean the answer was obvious? Maybe one of the famous theories was correct and Barbatos had simply found confirmation of it.

But then why not make it public? Barbatos' name would certainly be hailed until the end of times if he made such a discovery. … But maybe the reason he can't make it public is related to the cause and origin of the Disasters.

In the end, Lizel gave up. She would arrive nowhere without any hints, and her brainpower was better spent on other matters at the moment. In the worst case, Yuuto can simply make Barbatos talk after he becomes Devil King, that way Lizel could even make Yuuto gain all the credit.

"And the second thing?"

"Well, I'm not really sure if Lizel can help with this one. Or maybe you're just the right person, since you're acting as Lovers' strategist. You see, there's this Light Novel I told Yuuto I was reading, I just finished it and wanted to discuss it with him. Maybe Lizel has read it as well?"

Barbatos took the book and presented it to Lizel. She skimmed through it with a half confused half excited expression.

Barbatos told her he showed this to Yuuto because the main character's power of getting stronger by doing lewd things reminded him of Lovers, so he thought it might work as some kind of manual or inspiration for them.

Lizel told Barbatos she had never read it, but she would now that it seemed it could be useful to them. Barbatos seemed quite happy and told Lizel to come tell him her thoughts once she finished.

And that's how Lizel's meeting with the Devil King ended. Not much was gained, but that was fine.

With this, Lizel could finally take Yuuto and Miyabi to the hospital. With some good healing magic, they would be in tip top shape before long.

So she headed back to the Palace. Lizel was a little afraid she'd find Reina tied down and Miyabi riding Yuuto when she came back, but it seems her fears were unfounded.

"Ooh, senpai's back."

"Lizel-senpai."

"Reina, how are they?"

"Reina did first aid the best Reina could desu. But we should still take them to the hospital desu."

"We'll do that now. Let's grab our things and go."

Following Lizel's orders, Reina got up and went to get her stuff. But on the way, she tripped and fell face down, butt up.

Needless to say, her skirt was raised and her panties were showing. It was the usual lucky pervert accident Reina had every now and again. No one paid it much mind.

But then the seconds passed and Reina didn't move. It became a minute and nothing.

"Reina, are you okay?"

Yuuto started thinking Reina might have actually hurt herself this time. He went to her and tried checking if she was fine.

Only when Yuuto touched her did Reina move, but not in the way anyone expected. She simply fell to the side, much like a doll without support.

Her eyes were open, but there was no sign of life in them. Yuuto tried shaking her body to see if there would be any response.

"O-oi, Reina, Reina!"

But no response came. It was only natural.

What was in front of Yuuto now was no longer a living being.
