Fire and Ice Ch. 10

Bloom and Icy finally dragged themselves out of bed. Heading into the kitchen, Bloom yawns, "Morning, Mom. Morning, Dad."

Mike replies, "Morning, Sweetie," not even bothering looking away from his paper.

"Morning, Bloom," Vanessa replies and then sees her daughter-in-law. "Morning, Icy."

Without thinking, the witch replies, "Morning, Mom," her eyes then widen as she registers what she said, and the room went quiet. "I mean…"

Vanessa just walks up to the witch. "Icy, you don't have to be sorry. We're family," and hugs her.

Bloom smiles at the scene. "So, that's the warm feeling I felt last night?" the fairy takes down two mugs from the cabinet, preparing to get some coffee.

Mike then looks over at his new daughter-in-law. "By the way. How'd you two sleep last night?"

The redhead drops one of the mugs, and it shatters on the floor. Both her and the white-haired woman are blushing.

Icy turns to him, quickly saying, "W-we slept fine!"

The mother stifles a laugh and turns to the clueless father. "Let's change the subject, dear."

"Okay?" Mike tilts his head with a raised brow. "You two have any plans today?"

With a shrug, Bloom tells them, "Not really," as she magically fixes the mug. "I guess I could show Icy around Gardenia?" the fairy pours some coffee.

"That sounds nice," Icy steps up to her partner and accepts one of the mugs. "I never really seen it, despite being here a few times," she comments as she magically places a few cubes of ice into her coffee. "Of course, I was more focused on gaining ultimate power than sightseeing," the witch turns to Bloom. "I'd love to see where you grew up."

Bloom smiles at that. "That's great! I need to set some ground rules, though."

"Ground rules?"

"Well," the fairy shrugs. "One rule. Limit any use of magic outside this house. More people may believe in magic and fairies now, but many are still freaked out by it. It's best to not use it unless you have to."

"Fine!" Icy huffs. "I'm sure I can get by."

"Thank you, Icy," Bloom starts out of the kitchen. "I'll go take a quick shower."

"I should probably take one after you," the witch shrugs.

Mike laughs. "Bloom, you never take a quick shower. You just let it run until the water turns cold," he turns to Icy. "If you want any claim to the hot water, you should go first, Icy," he goes to take a sip of his own coffee as does his daughter-in-law.

Vanessa smiles. "You two could always take one together?" at this, both her husband and daughter-in-law spit out the coffee and Bloom and Icy start blushing.

Bloom shouts out. "Mom!?"

"Th-that's fine, Mom," Icy stutters a bit as she grabs some paper towels to clean the mess she made. "I actually prefer the cold. It's kinda in my nature," she says while summoning a large crystal snowflake and quickly dismisses it.

"That's a neat trick," Mike applause. "Everyone's gonna love you on Christmas."

That comment causes the witch to blush.

.oOo.

The two went exploring all around the city.

"I never thought an Earth city would be so interesting," Icy says as she takes a bite out of the strange food they got from a stand around the corner. She moans, "What is this? It's delicious!"

Bloom giggles. "It's called a hot dog, Snowflake," the fairy takes a napkin to wipe away some ketchup from her partner's cheek.

The witch's face then contorts it disgust. "You eat dogs!? I'm not even that cruel!" she goes to throw the food away, only to be stopped by Bloom.

"No, no," she laughs. "It's not actually a dog. It's just bits of meat. Mostly from pigs or cows."

"Oh!" the platinum blonde examines the hotdog. "Then, why is it called a hot dog?"

The fairy goes to explain but comes up short. "Actually, I don't know."

They finish their hotdogs as they round the corner, and Icy spots something.

"Hey, Firecracker, can I barrow some money?"

Bloom takes out her card. But before handing it over, she asks. "You're not going on a shopping spree again, are you? Both my parents are still on me for overspending."

The witch shakes her head. "Of course not. What I'm about to do is for both of us. I swear."

The fairy smiles as she hands her the card and Icy give a quick peck before running across the street. "Wait for me here. I'll be back!"

With a smile, Bloom says to herself, "I really hope I don't regret this."

After a few moments of waiting, Bloom gets shoved to the side.

"Watch it!" an obnoxious voice shouts at the fairy. "Oh, it's just you, Bloom." standing there is Mitzi holding several shopping bags.

"Why should I? I was just standing here waiting for someone," the fairy tells her.

.oOo.

"Here you go, miss," a man hands Icy a box.

"Thank you. I know she's going to love this," she smiles and under her breath says, "Not as much as me." The witch freezes for a moment as a feeling of irritation and annoyance starts rising.

"Uh, miss?"

Icy shakes her head. "Sorry. I need to go," and she quickly leaves the building.

Running outside, the witch spots her partner being confronted by a girl with long black hair.

Approaching them, Icy makes out the new girl saying, "Oh, please! Like anyone would give their time to a loser like you."

"Ahem!" Icy clears her throat. "Is she bothering you, Firecracker?" she walks around Mitzi, up next to Bloom, and places an arm around her partner.

"No more than usual," Bloom glares at her childhood bully.

Mitzi looks between them, "You're dating?" she sneers.

With that the witch laughs. "Dating? No!" she holds out her hand to show off her ring. "We're married."

"Ugh! That's disgusting!"

"Excuse me?" the platinum blonde's temper rises, and Bloom feels it.

The fairy places a hand on her partner's shoulder. "Icy!"

"I'm out of here before I catch whatever you have," Mitzi walks off. She soon finds herself falling on the sidewalk. Looking at where she was going, Mitzi strangely finds a small patch of ice right there.

.oOo.

Bloom runs through the park, pulling Icy along with her. When they stopped in an empty area of the park, she turns to snap at her laughing partner. "Icy! That wasn't funny?" the fairy tries to glare at the witch sternly. Icy just smiles and gives her an 'oh really' look. The redhead then starts giggling along with her. "Okay! It was funny. But still wrong. As annoying as Mitzi is, you could have hurt her."

"Oh, please!" Icy waves it off. "We both know that if I wanted to harm her, I wouldn't have to try very hard. If it makes you feel better, I was preparing to conjure a pile of snow to cushion her if I saw she was going to land wrong. No one talks to you like that. You're my wife. My Firecracker," she starts blushing.

Bloom kisses her. "And you're my Snowflake." That seems to have made the witch's blush deepen. The fairy's eye drift to the box her partner has been carrying. "So, what did you get?"

"Well, you see…" Icy trails off as she holds the box up. "Do you know what today is?"

"Is it Thursday?"

"Well, yes. It's also our anniversary. It was this day exactly one month ago that we got married. Other than the recording, we don't really have any memories of our day. What we do have is the one good memory from our first date. So…" she opens the box to reveal the ice cream cake. "I thought we could us this to celebrate?"

The fairy can see and feel how nervous her partner is over this. Bloom grins, "You just wanted to an excuse to eat cake?" at that, Icy shrugs, not denying the accusation. "Did you get any forks?"

The two then sit on a bench, sharing the cake.

Bloom sighs. "I wish this moment will never end."

"So do I," Icy moans as she takes another bite of the cake. "You know?" the witch looks at their surroundings. "I wouldn't mind living here. Earth isn't so bad. A nice little house for us. how's that sound?"

"It sounds lovely. And it should have a yard big enough to play in."

"Thinking about kids already?" Icy smirks. "Bit early to think about that."

"A dog actually," Bloom shrugs. "Not against kids. We just can't, you know."

"I'm sure we could adopt," the witch smiles and releases a small sigh. "I never thought about the future before. I only ever lived in the moment. There wasn't much I cared about outside my sisters," she looks at her ring. "Maybe after my protection expires, I could request banishment here. That way, we could be together," Icy looks back at her partner and sees the disbelief in her eyes.

Suddenly, Bloom hops across the bench, tackling Icy onto the ground, and starts kissing her deeply and passionately.

Icy stops her partner, "Bold, rough, and feisty," she smirks. "No wonder I started calling you Firecracker," that statement makes the fairy blush. "We probably shouldn't be doing this here?"

Looking up, Bloom sees that there were a few people to act as an audience. "Yeah! You're right," she stands up before assisting her partner up as well. In doing so, the fairy finds herself getting lost in Icy's eyes.

After a moment, the witch gets worried. "What?"

"I think I understand why I call you Snowflake," she tells her. "It's your eyes. They sparkle, much like the glistening crystals during a snowfall."

Hearing that, Icy suddenly starts feeling warm. "I-is it getting hot out here," she fans herself. "This is not good for an Ice Witch," and chuckles.

With a huge grin, the fairy steps up closer to the witch and whispers, "My room's colder," and then she starts pulling her now even redder partner in the direction of her parent's home.

Icy rushes back to the park bench to retrieve what's left of their ice cream cake, before running back to her partner.

.oOo.

Mike and Vanessa were in the living room watching tv when the front door burst open. They hear someone running into the kitchen before Bloom and Icy came into their sights.

"Where're you two going?" Mike asks, stopping the two as they were halfway up the stairs.

The two glance at each other and Bloom answers, "To bed."

"This early?"

Vanessa couldn't agree more with her husband. "Yes, girls. Besides, I'm about to prepare dinner."

"That's alright, Mom," the redhead waves her off. "We already ate. So, we're good." With that, the fairy continues to pull her partner up the stairs.

A moment later, Icy comes back halfway down. "There's an ice cream cake in the freezer. Please don't touch it."

Bloom's voice then shouts, "Icy!" at which, the Ice Witch runs back up the stairs.

NOTE: In regards to those asking for more detail on the intimate moments. I'm not comfortable writing that. It's one thing to hint or say that intimate moments happened but I won't be going into more details than that. It's just not in my style. I'd rather keep my stories from going above PG 13.
