Chapter 1: Rui's Origin

Fire, smoke, bodies, blood, and destruction surrounded her. Buildings crumbled and burned, while bodies lay on the ground, stained with blood. Fights raged in the background, but she remained focused as she walked through the chaos.

A tall, beautiful woman in her late 20s and stood at 186 cm tall, with an athletic yet curvaceous figure. She had long, shaggy black hair that reached her lower back, a single long strand of hair hung from the left side, framing her face with bangs still hanging over her forehead. Her onyx eyes, which resembled those of a cat, surveyed the scene before her. Dressed in a salmon-colored samue, she walked barefoot, moving with purpose.

The woman appeared unwell because of the unsightly wounds that were oozing blood and seemed to be caused by bullets, though slightly larger than one might expect. However, she did not seem to care. All she cared about was saving something or someone. In her arms, there was a small bundle. Whimpering sounds emanated from it, clearly those of a child. This was a mother desperately attempting to protect her offspring from harm.

Explosions rumbled across the destroyed village, sending rubble and splinters flying everywhere. But she didn't care. She used every ounce of willpower to get through it, and to protect her child.

The mother kept walking through the chaos, and as she walked, she thought back. What had happened? How had this night turned into a living hell? She lived in a village on the rural side of Kanagawa, Japan, with her son and husband, and they were all sleeping, like the rest of the villagers. They all woke up when they heard a strange whistling sound, and then...

Few minutes Ago

BOOM!!!

"What the hell was that?!" A man exclaimed as he leapt out of bed, looking out the window at the sight of a large explosion and chaos beginning to unfold.

He was a tall, muscular individual, appearing to be in his late 20s, standing at 196 cm tall. He was wearing no shirt, only pajama pants. He had wild, spiky crimson hair, dark red sharp eyes, abnormally sharp canines, tan skin, and two small white horns that pierced through the bush of his hair. Additionally, he possessed a crimson, cat-like tail, which was due to his quirk.

Demon Wrath: The user can channel violent rage through their body and enter into a berserker state, becoming empowered by their anger and gaining abilities, skills, and traits of a demon. This also boosts the user's power, physical strength, speed and durability ten-fold.

"Takashi, what was that?! What's going on?!" A woman said with a tired and worried tone to the now named Takashi. Takashi quickly turned to his wife and yelled, "Kazumi, I think the village is being attacked by villains! Go and grab Rui, get the hell out of here, and find somewhere safe!" He yelled. The woman now known as Kazumi had her eyes widen in shock, but she didn't need to be told twice. She jumped out of the bed and ran to her son's room.

Takashi looked back at the window and glared at the destruction, then turned and walked towards the closet and went inside. He was looking around then he saw a box, once he opened it, and took out what was in it. It was a black and red GI that had the kanji for Senshi and brown combat boots.

"Since we're in the countryside, obviously there won't be any heroes to help.", he said with an annoyed mocking tone. Since heroes are only seen in cities not caring about other people in the countryside, he doubted that one would come. Once the GI was fully on, he then took out a red tie back headband, then tied it around his head. He didn't look back at the window but instead had a serious yet determined look. "So I better stop this myself."

While Takashi was doing that, Kazumi ran down the hallway to her son's room. As she made it to the door, she slammed it open, startling the 5-year-old boy who was already awake and standing in front of the window, confused and scared. He was the spitting image of his father, same quirk as well.

The only difference was that instead of his hair and tail being crimson, they were both black - just like his mother's. He has short mop of fluffy hair, rather than spiky, and the only similarity was his eyes, which were also dark red, but large and circular.

"Mommy, what's going on? What was that noise?" the boy named Rui asked in a nervous and scared tone.

"Something bad is really happening sweetie. You, me and daddy are going to get out of here." She answered her son, hoping to ease his worries. As she picked him up, she dashed out the room, ran downstairs where she met up with her husband.

"Good, you got him now, let's try-" but he was soon interrupted by explosions from the wall. When the smoke cleared, there were two villains, one was a short and skinny man who had black long greasy hair, and brown crazy eyes, and was dressed in a black combat suit. The other one was also dressed in a black combat suit, but he was a tall and muscular man who had the resemblance of a bull. "Well, well, well, look what we have here. A nice looking family standing by each other one last time, until they die." The Bull man said in a taunting tone. "Yeah Hehehe, I got dibs on the woman this time man." The Skinny man said crazily and was licking his lips as he stared at Kazumi with lust.

Kazumi had thousands of tick marks on her face. 'Why you skinny twig ass...' she thought with anger and disgust. Takashi had his eyes shadowed by his hair and also had tick marks. "How about you come here and try," Takashi challenged. Hearing this, the skinny man charged at Kazumi with his arms becoming a bear's. He was so focused on her, he didn't notice the fist that impacted into his cheek, sending him flying. The bull man was shocked because he hadn't noticed that Takashi had even moved. In fact, it looked like he teleported.

Enraged, the bull man charged at Takashi, throwing punches. Takashi easily dodged them and delivered the 1 inch punch to his gut, knocking him out. With enhanced strength, Takashi picked up the man and threw him away. "Okay, now let's-" Takashi was interrupted again by three other villains. "What the hell happened to Bull?" one of them yelled when he saw the bull man now named Bull. "I don't know, but it came from over there," another villain said, pointing towards where the family was at.

Takashi cursed under his breath, knowing that those villains would come over here if they didn't move. That's when he had an idea; he turned to look at his wife and son, and told them the plan. "Okay, you two, those villains are going to get here if we don't get moving," he said. "Okay then, why aren't we running?" Kazumi asked, trying her best not to yell. "Simple, I'm going to lead them away while you get Rui and yourself out of here," he explained his plan.

Kazumi was shocked by the statement coming from her husband's mouth. "Are you crazy? Splitting up right now is a bad idea, what if we need you or there's a strong villain that you can't handle?" She said, with a worried tone. She knew that her husband could handle himself, but she couldn't help but worry.

Takashi just smirked at his wife. "Come on, it's me we're talking about. Have I ever got taking down in a fight? Besides, we both know you can handle yourself just fine, right?" He questioned. Kazumi tried to find an answer, but came up empty. She didn't argue, knowing there was no convincing her husband. "All right, just please stay safe, you hornhead." She said, calling him by an old nickname. "You too, she-devil," he replied, using another old nickname for her.

He then looked at his son who looked at him with worry and sadness. He then smiled at him. "Rui, I'm going to lead the bad guys away from you and your mother; she's going to keep you safe, and if she's in trouble, you'll be there for her, okay?" he said while Rui put on a confident look and nodded.

He smiled at his son and gave his wife one last kiss; then, they turned away from each other and split off.

Leaving their destroyed home behind.

Kazumi continued running towards safety using any cover to hide behind, even if it meant breaking in destroyed houses. She made it to another house and waited to make sure the coast was clear. Once they noticed the coast was clear, she were about to move until she pushed Rui into a hiding place and went to find another way to hide that was still close to him. The reason was that she sensed three figures coming this way.

Minutes later, three villains appeared, two men and one woman. One was a tall man with dark blonde hair and blue eyes, the other man was also tall man with black hair and red eyes along with ram horns, and the woman was a literal bat girl, with bat ears and bat wings for arms, they were all wearing black combat suits. Kazumi was a little worried about that one seeing that bats have good ears.

"Komori, you sure that you heard someone coming here?" The brown hair man asked the bat girl now named Komori. "Yeah, I know I heard someone Ken." Said Komori to the now named Ken. "Well, there's no doubt that they're still here, and if they aren't they couldn't gone far." Said the ram horned man. "Well if they are still here, then...", Ken said then pause at his words, then yelled...

"HEY WHOEVER YOU ARE, YOU BETTER COME OUT OF HIDING OR I'LL MAKE YOU, AND IF YOU DO WELL MAKE SURE THAT WE GIVE YOU A QUICK AND PAINLESS DEATH!", He shouted because if the explosion in the background.

'Yeah sure we'll come out, it's not like you just threaten to kill us if we do.' Kazumi thought sarcastic. She just had to stay there until they think that they are not here anymore. Few minutes went by and the villains got no response. "Maybe they really aren't here." Said the Ram horn man. "That's what they want you to think, Ram, I know that they're still hiding in here." Ken said to them now name Ram.

'Well, we got a smart one here.' Thought Kazumi. Minutes passed and there was no response. "So you're playing the quiet game huh?" Ken mocked. "Komori, locate their heartbeat." He command her. 'Wait can bats even do that!' Kazumi yelled internally. She had to calm down and control her heartbeat so she can be quiet enough. "I hear a heartbeat being fast over there." Komori said while pointing at the direction where the sound was coming from, and it was where Rui was hiding.

Kazumi eyes grew in horror as she knows where she's pointing at. "Well look at that it seems like you been found." Ken chuckled as he turned his arm into a blade and was walking towards the hiding place. As Ken and the other two was getting closer to Rui, without realizing what happened Kazumi's body move on its own. She landed a roundhouse kick to Ken's head and grab him by the collar and threw him into his bat partner.

Ram was taken aback as he saw his two partners go flying. He then became enraged when he realized they had been defeated. He then charged at Kazumi headfirst. "Take this, you bitch!" He shouted. Kazumi was prepared for this and, when the opportunity arose, she headbutted him, displaying her own hard durability. The man was dazed for a moment, so she followed up with a powerful punch to his head to ensure he was truly unconscious.

She looked back to see the other two getting up, she then tied her hair into a ponytail, knowing that this is going to be a fight. "Why you bitch, you going to pay for that!" Yelled Ken, furious that this woman kicked then threw him. He then turned his other arm into a blade, then charge at her. Komori wasn't far behind as she flew with great speed and getting out her claws. Ken was swiping and slashing the air as he keeps trying to hit Kazumi who was dodging the arm blades. Komori then slash her claws at Kazumi who was still dodging, she was getting hits on herself because she keeps leaving herself open.

"Will you stop dodging and let us hit you?!" Komori demanded. "Okay," Kazumi replied, standing still. The two villains took advantage of the situation, hoping to kill her. "Die!!" Ken yelled, slashing at her, only to see that his attacks went through her and hit his partner. Komori flew backwards with a huge gash on her body, blood pouring out. The blade arm man didn't even care about his partner's well-being, as he searched for the annoying woman, unaware that she was above him, preparing an axe kick.

Gravity took over in with the weight of her foot she deliver a heavy axe kick on his head, knocking him out. Kazumi looked around to see the defeated villains. "That was easy. I was expecting more of a fight." She said, with a triumphant and disappointed tone. She was walking back towards where Rui was hiding with her guard still up, and it's a good thing it was, because all of the sudden...

*PING!*

She swipe away a beam that was headed towards her. She look around to see where the beam came from, then she heard chuckling. "Well well, not only you defeated in my comrades, but you also deflected my beam." Said a figure who fell down from the ceiling. He was a muscular man that was standing about 200 cm tall, short black hair, purple eyes and he was looking at her with pure malice and sadism. "Well, well, well, It seems like you reflect my finger beams, huh little girl." The man said.

"OK firstly, do all of you guys start with 'Well, well, well' when you're find someone? Secondly who are you calling a little girl, I'm 29!" Kazumi yelled with clear annoyance, the man was amazement at this woman's reaction.

"I was calling you that is because you'll be beaten down like the weak girl, duh." The men taunted and mocked her. Kazumi had her eyes shadowed buy her bangs, she was pissed at this man was underestimated because she's a female, she always been told this, people, especially boys never took her seriously especially with her quirk issue, Takashi was the only boy that took her seriously.

So, she's going to use this to her advantage, especially since this guy is so big. You know what they say, "bigger isn't always better," Kazumi put on a cocky smirk. "You're saying that you already won this fight?" She said with a mocking tone. "I have!" The man yelled maniacally, as he blasted laser beams from his hands. The beams were aimed at Kazumi and her still-hidden son, but she deflected them away from both of them.

She then charge at the main header amazing speed. The man was impressed and shock at the woman speed, guessing that it was because of her quirk. As she can close, the man try to hit her by swinging his arm, but she meant to dodge it and deliver a punch to his ribs. The man granted in pain as he keeps trying to hit her only to get hit himself.

"Oi, quit dodging and let me hit you bitch!" he yelled, with a lot of anger and annoyance in his voice. "Are you going to leave me alone afterwards?" Kazumi ask with mock in her tone. "Hell no!" he shouted. "There's my answer." she said.

This made the man scream in absolute anger as she was taunting him over and over again. He then charged at her, throwing punches with tremendous speed, but she was easily dodging or deflecting them. 'This woman is one skilled fighter, I'll give her that or maybe this was just because of her quirk. Yeah it was definitely that.

He thought to himself, 'There's no way a woman could be this skilled.' Because he didn't believe that Kazumi was doing well against him. His name was Genki Bokushin, and he was a former champion of Puroresu. However, he had been banned from competing due to drug use and bribery, effectively ending his fighting career. Now, he chose to become a villainous character in the ring.

As Genki was still trying to hit Kazumi with his fist and quirk he shouted, "What the hell kind of quirk do you have? A speed combat one or something?" This took Kazumi a back until she put on a smirk. "No because…" she then kicked him in shin making him lose his balance then disappeared and reappeared behind shocking him. Then she whispered in his ear.

"I'm quirkless." She said, then delivered a backhand fist, sent him flying towards the wall.

Kazumi was huffing and smiled with victory. "How does it feel to be defeated by a quirkless woman?" she said to him with a proud tone. She looked at Genki and thinks that he's unconscious so she went to go get her still hidden son, but she still hadn't put her guard down and the good things she didn't just when she was walking towards him, she defected a beam once again, but this time burn her a little.

Genki was up and ready to fight again and he was holding a syringe gun. "So you're quirkless huh?" he said with venom in his voice. "And you think you won?" he then grind his teeth, causing blood to come out his mouth. "I will not let this be!" he shouted, pulling out another syringe gun. He then stab the both of them into his arms, causing veins to show. "I'm going to ask you this do you know about trigger?" he ask.

Kazumi was confused about what this man has said. 'Trigger? What the hell was that? Some just sort of drug?' Seeing the woman's face Genki smiled manically. "I guess not let me indulge you, trigger is a drug that is use for enhance the power of the quirks, and with this, I'm going to boost my powers nonstop." Genki said this out, loud about to inject two of the syringes into himself, if one trigger drug can enhance the power imagine what would two do.

Kazumi charged at him trying to stop him, but it was too late. The two trigger drugs got injected into his arms, and then his veins started turning purple. Seconds later, hundreds of laser beams flew everywhere from his body. It seemed like he was out of control because he was screaming in pain. Kazumi was dodging as fast as she could, but even she had to deflect the laser beams, which actually hurt her by giving her third-degree burns.

'Shit, this dude isn't playing around anymore. Time to get serious then too.' she thought. Suddenly white aura explode it out of her and she screamed at the top of her lungs. Genki despite his pain look at her in shocked. 'Didn't she said that she was quirkless? Did this bitch lie to me?!' he mentally screamed. I see charge as her in crazy fury.

Kazumi see this coming and dodge out of the way. Genki keep charging at her like a mad bull with the lasers still coming out of him. "What's the matter, scared that you might get hit?" the man taunted her. "Well, I don't wanna get affected by your ugliness." Kazumi replied back. This made Genki extremely piss, as he spun around making the lasers into swirling beams like tornado.

Kazumi noticed this and realized that some of them were heading towards Rui's hiding place. With amazing speed, she went to block the beams protecting her son. An explosion erupted from the area, and when the smoke cleared, it revealed Kazumi burned and bleeding, but still standing. Genki seemed to calm down, but was still out of control.

He roared like a wild beast and charged at her with the beams swirling around him. She then channeled something into her legs and stood there in a battle stance, waiting for him. When he reached her, she struck.

She managed to dodge him and flipped over his head. With a glowing foot, she slammed down on his head with full force. This caused a massive explosion of dust exploded on impact on the ground, obscuring both of them. When the dust cleared, it showed Kazumi standing victorious as her foot was press down on her foe's head.

Rui looked at his mom in awe, seeing how strong his mommy is, and knowing that his own father was just as strong too, or even stronger. Kazumi look down at her defeated opponent, satisfied, she then walk towards where her son was hiding, but not having her back turn, still looking at her down foe. It was a good thing she did because her opponent was starting to get up and aim a beam at her, fortunately, she reflected as she did with the others.

Genki fully got up and glared death at the woman. "Dammit, why don't you just stay down?" She asked irritated, but it was obvious she was tired. Genki didn't say anything, he just had a blank look on his face. He then bring out another syringe and was about to stab himself with it, but then it exploded in his hand. It showed that Kazumi was pointing her finger at it showing that she did something.

Genki still had that blank lifeless expression on his face as he stared at the liquid drug in his hand. Kazumi didn't like the way that the was just standing there with that face and looking at that liquid on his head. She even started to walk towards him, but still having her guard up, much to her surprise he began to lick his hand. After he licked all of the liquid off of this hand, nothing happened at first, but then he started to sweat.

At first it was normal, then he began to sweat profusely, and finally, he started scream bloody murder as veins appeared on his body, bulging out of his skin.

"Wh-what the hell...", whispered Kazumi as she stepped back, the man looked like he was about to explode. With that thought in mind she ran towards her son to protect him whatever is going to happen.

The moment she got to him, the man suddenly let out thousands beyond thousands of energy beams that were going different directions. Some of the beams hit her and unfortunately pierce through her, but she stayed conscience like nothing is happening.

Minutes passed and a barrage of beams stopped. The house that they were in had been destroyed; Genki's body was singed from head to toe. As for Kazumi, she was not looking well. She was burned and had wounds that would leave scars, but she stood firmly, revealing her willpower.

She looked at her opponent with heavy breaths, he looked like burnt shit. She doesn't even know if he's still alive and she wasn't even gonna check. She turned her back to him and went to her still hidden son.

When she arrived, she uncovered her son who looked amazed at his mother. "That was so cool, mommy! You were going boom pow bam on that guy!" He exclaimed cheerfully. Kazumi couldn't help but smile at her son's excitement. "That's right, your mommy did a cool job, didn't she?" She said with a grin. She was about to pick him up but then...

*PING!*

A beam shot right through her, causing her to cough out blood and causing Rui to stare at her in horror. She then heard a chuckle as she turned her head, only to see her opponent standing up and back on his feet. He has a crazed look on his face which pissed Kazumi off.

"Hey, bitch!" he shouted in a crazed tone. Kazumi glared at him and was about to speak when she was struck by another beam. Enraged, she suddenly emitted a white aura and attacked her opponent.

Surprised by this, Genki shot multiple beams at her. She managed to dodge most of them, but due to her weakened and injured state, she still got hit.

She crashed into him and started to pummel his face nonstop.

"Why, won't, you, stay, the, fuck, DOWN?!", She screamed at him as she kept punching him.

Suddenly, Genki grabbed Kazumi's fist and slammed her onto the ground. "Because I'm stronger than you, that's why."

"Bullshit!" she shouted as she was stomped on repeatedly by Genki, who was laughing like a maniac and clearly enjoying the sound of her cries.

Meanwhile, Rui was staring in horror as he saw his mother being beaten down like nothing. With tears in his eyes, he was whimpering and pleading for the man to stop.

"S-stop!" He cried, but he kept going.

"STOP!" He cried louder, but he kept going.

"Stop!" He said this time with a angry tone, but he kept going.

"Stop!" He said this time with a snarl, and he's eyes were a brighter red, but he kept going.

Without even realizing it, Rui's body underwent sudden physical changes. His hair grew longer and wilder; his tail puffed up like a furious cat's, his nails and teeth growing longer and sharper.

"And if she's in trouble, you'll be there for her, okay?" The memory of his dad came back to him, and he knew exactly what to do.

"I..."

Genki kept stomping.

"said..."

Genki then looked back with a bored look.

"STOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!" Rui roared, revealing his now glowing red eyes. At that moment, Rui could only see red.

Minutes later

Kazumi woke up after that beatdown that she had received from that bastard, speaking of which where was that shithead now? She then heard some stomping noises and it sounded like someone was stomping on flesh.

She turned to the source of the noise, and the sight both shocked and horrified her. For what she saw was her baby boy slamming his tiny fist into the bastard's face over and over again, leaving trails of blood. She can hear him snarling and noticing his hair and tail.

He activated his quirk. Kazumi remembered the day that he had received it, when he had been throwing a tantrum, his quirk activating and sending him into a completely uncontrollable rampage.

Now he was really out of control. Without even thinking, Kazumi got up and limped towards her son, who continued to go at it. Once she got to her son, she hugged him as tightly as she could and Rui began to thrash around in rage.

"Rui, sweetie, please calm down." She said as tears ran down her face. Rui was still thrashing. "Fight it! Don't let your quirk control you; you control it, it's your choice, so don't let it control you! Fight it!" she pleaded. It took him several minutes to finally calm down.

"Mommy!" Rui exclaimed in confusion. Kazumi wiped away her tears as she looked at her son with happiness. Rui looked around, confused, until he saw his hands covered in blood and the man lying nearby.

This normally would traumatize or do something similar to a toddler, but Rui just had a blank look. He then used the man's shirt to wipe the blood off. This concerned Kazumi, but then she started to cough up blood into her hand; this made Rui's blank look to a worried and scared look. That bastard really did a number on her, she thinks he hit a vital organ. Realizing this, she came up with two options.

Option 1: She can heal these wounds up with no problem, but given the state she's in, it will either take longer or put her into unconsciousness, and she don't wanna any chances with villains still out there. They might found her and Rui or maybe not.

Option 2: She could use some of her ability to stop the bleeding and use all of her strength to get her baby boy out of this hell.

She flipped an imaginary coin in her head (Heads 1, Tails 2), and it landed on Tails. With that said and done, Kazumi used the last remaining bit of her strength to stand up and pick up her son.

Then, she looked at the man who had hurt her so badly. Rui had done quite a number on him; his face was swollen, and thanks to his burnt body, he might not be able to breathe, but he wasn't her problem anymore. She walked off.

That's what happened, and as a result, she arrived here. Her breathing became heavy, and her vision started to grow blurry. She could hear Rui whimpering in her chest, almost as if he knew what was happening to her. It broke her heart just hearing him cry.

She knew what she needed to do; she had to bring her child to safety. Tears streamed down her face as she walked through the destroyed village, seeing her fellow villagers lying dead - men, women, and even children.

She finally reached the exit of the village, leaving her home behind. She walked through a forest, headed up a hill where she usually had a beautiful view of the village. But this time, she saw nothing but a flaming hell. She sat down by a tree on the hill and placed Rui in front of her.

"Okay, sweetheart, hopefully we'll be safe," she said with heavy breath. Rui noticed how pale she looked, and his worries went through the roof. Kazumi noticed it too, and knew what was coming next. "God damn... I guess that's it for me, huh?" she said, trying to smile.

"What are you saying we're going to get through this together?" Rui asked with tears. Kazumi was saddened but knew she needed to tell him. "You remember that paradise in the sky when you've finished here?" He nodded. "Well, I am about to go there." She said sadly, his eyes widened in horror.

"No, you can't go please no!" Rui cried. "I'm sorry, Rui, but I guess that is how it is." She said, also crying. She started to pet his head as he cried in her chest. "I know, sweetie, I want to be with you longer." She said sadly.

"Rui, there'll be plenty of hard and painful times ahead in life. You need to take care of yourself!" Kazumi told him. Rui just stared at her tearfully, Kazumi continued. "I'm going to tell you some life lessons, take it to heart?" Rui nodded with curiosity.

Kazumi began listing down the things he needed to do. "Make sure you eat three meals a day; don't be picky. Don't stay up late at night—you'll need your sleep. Take a bath or shower every day; never miss one. Make friends and make sure they're the ones you can really, truly trust."

"As for women, don't hook up with a bad one; find someone who's kind, caring, and beautiful, just like your mother," she finished with a teasing shit-eating grin. This caused her son to blush in embarrassment. "W-w-what?!" he said in surprise, causing Kazumi to chuckle a little.

"But most importantly, make sure you have dreams…and the confidence to make those dreams come true!" Kazumi told him. This caused Rui to look at her in determination.

Seeing this, Kazumi made a huge smile that would rival All Might's. "That's my little fighter," she said. "Thank you for allowing me and Takashi to be your parents, and thank you for entering into our lives. I love you so much!" She said with pure happiness, before it was her turn to pass on, with a smile.

Rui was quiet at first, wondering why Mommy had gone to sleep and why it sounded like she wasn't breathing. "Mommy?" he asked, trying to wake her up. Seconds later, he realized what had happened. "No, no, nonononono!" Rui wailed.

"Mommy, no!" He wailed for several minutes before his voice trailed off into muffled sobs. Then he began shouting. "Give her back! Please, God, give my mommy back!" He shouted up to the heavens.

Suddenly Rui was startled by a gigantic, swirling dome of red energy down by the village, and if he remembered correctly his father was heading at that direction. Rui looked at the energy in ture sorrow and despair, because he doesn't know why but that energy was...

"Dad..."

.

.

.

Rui had no idea how long he had been there, minutes or hours. He was just sitting there, all alone.

"Rui, is that you?" Said a male voice. Rui perk up because he recognize it, he turned to it to see a man.

The man was tall and well-built in his late 40s; he was the same height as Takashi. His spiky white hair stood out against his tanned skin. He wore a orange short-sleeved kimono and blue pants, Japanese wooden sandals, and a black haori with two yellow circles on each side.

This man was Zaijirou Hiroyuki, the martial arts sensei of Takashi and Kazumi, and the godfather of Rui. He notice that he looked banged up almost like he was in a fight.

Zaijirou looked at his godson with relief in his eyes, then he looked at his female student and his eyes filled with sorrow. He already knows that she had passed on to the next life and yet she smiled in peace.

"Come on kid, let's get out of here." Zaijirou said sadly as he picked up Kazumi's body, Rui turn back at the village doing a prayer and saying goodbye in his head as he walked with his godfather.

2 Months later

It was now October, two months since that hell started. There were 300 people living in that village, and only 80 of them had survived, meaning that 220 people had died. Doctors with healing-based quirks or something similar came and treated everyone.

But the question that was on everyone's minds was why, why had the villains attacked this village?

Rui stayed with Zaijirou in Okinawa. Zaijirou lived in a Traditional Japanese House in the rural area near the jungle.

Speaking of which, Zaijirou was at the ruins searching for Rui's old house. When he found it, it was one of the houses that were still standing; it just had a big hole in the side. He was doing this because he was gathering important stuff for Rui, such as a birth certificate. He even managed to find and bring back some personal belongings of theirs to help him remember them by.

Their belongings included family pictures, combat equipment, and other family possessions, such as Kazumi's grandmother's necklace, which had been passed down to her; Takashi's headband and training manual, containing his fighting techniques, skills, and abilities.

But the only item that Rui was close to was his mother's scarf. It was a red scarf, one that reminded Zaijirou of the one that anime girl wore. Rui almost never takes it off, only when he's about to bathe and sleep, sometimes when it's hot he wears it around his waist like a belt.

Now Rui and Zaijirou are in front the tombstones of Takashi and Kazumi Ikari. They place down roses and iris flowers which were their favorite respectively. As the leaves fall down, Rui was thinking back on the words that his mother said.

"Make sure you have dreams…and the confidence to make those dreams come true!"

And he did but it wasn't to be a hero or some crap, he wanted to open up his own dojo and become a Martial Arts Master, and by doing that he needed to be stronger.

With that said and done Rui and Zaijirou began to leave after doing a prayer, but Rui stop and looked at the sky with his fist out. "Watch me from up there, I'll surpass Zaijirou, and become stronger by protecting my future love ones, like you guys did for me." He said with a face of true determination.

From that day on, Rui at the age of five learned the hard truth that Life wasn't fair.
