Serena and Sansa walked through the gardens taking in the beauty of all the different plants. There were many different types of flowers from roses to gilly flowers. It was definitely the nicest smelling places in the city with the beautiful scent of flowers filling their noses. It was a nice day out for the sisters...they may not have been blood but they may as well be sisters. Along the walk Sansa went on talking about her 'beloved Joffrey' which made Serena sick. She's never seen anyone so lovestruck over anyone. What made it worse was it was over a Lannister...well he was a Baratheon however he heavily favored the Lannister side as did his siblings.

If the red head went on anymore about the damn boy her ears would fall off. Sansa finally stopped talking when her blue eyes stopped on a beautiful blue flower. She walked over to it taking a closer look at the plant mesmerized by its beauty. It was nice to see all the flowers most of which did not grow up in the North. The pair were interrupted when the Prince approached them. The pair instinctively bowed before him.

"You may stand My Ladies." He said kindly.

Serena could see Joffrey eying Sansa up and down as she got up. From the side of her vision she could see Sansa smiling from ear to ear at the sight of her beloved Prince. Joffrey took Sansa's hand in his leaning over kissing it while uttering a 'My Lady' showing curtesy. He then looked to Serena seeing the look on her face as she was super protective of her sister.

"My Lady would you allow me to escort the Lady Sansa through the gardens?"

This day was supposed to be their day...a day for the sisters to bond and enjoy what little there was to enjoy in the capital but it was a crime to deny a Prince what he wanted. She turned to see Sansa looking at her with a look of want. Her blue eyes turned back to the Prince who was awaiting a reply.

"It would be a crime to deny a royal escort. If Sansa wishes to accept your offer then I have no issue with it."

It was a lie...she preferred Sansa spend as little time alone with Joffrey as possible. She didn't have much love for the Prince or his mother for that matter after that issue at the Inn. Sansa's wolf had nothing to do with what happened to Joffrey...the best outcome would have been to let both wolves live but worst case they should have kept hunting for Nymeria as it was her who scarred the Prince. It was no matter as everything had already happened and the Prince's lies got us here.

Sansa's face lifted up into a ear to ear smile agreeing to the Prince's escort. The red head was still upset about her wolf but that was the Queen's doing not Joff's.

"I will leave you two to it."

Joffrey bowed before locking his arm with Sansa's and the pair walked off talking and looking at the variety of flowers. Serena decided to linger around for a moment in the event Sansa needed her. She slowly strolled alone in the Gardens when a familiar face approached her. With her golden locks and red dress along with two Lannister soldiers flanking either side of her made her instantly recognizable as the Queen. The moment her eyes fell on the blonde that feeling in her stomach returned...anxiety began to fill her not knowing what that feeling was. Cersei stopped a few steps from the Northern girl with a smile growing on her face.

"Hello Lady Serena."

Serena bowed before the Queen as was the common curtesy.

"I'm no Lady Your Grace." Serena replied.

"You were raised by Eddard Stark within the walls of Winterfell...I'd say you are a Lady."

Serena just nodded with the unknown feeling leaping up into her chest.

"Please walk with me through the gardens."

Serena didn't want to walk with Cersei still a bit upset over the Inn incident but like she told Sansa it should be a crime to deny a royal escort. She agreed and Cersei locked arms with the girl before ordering her guards to give them some privacy. The men bowed before obeying their Queen's command. The pair then began to stroll through the gardens.

"So how are you enjoying the capital?" Cersei asked.

"It's a bit warmer then Winterfell."

It did get warm in Winterfell but never as hot as it gets in the capital. Being in Kings Landing was the first time that she broke a sweat by just siting around doing absolutely nothing. Today was a much nicer day with some cloud cover to help cool everyone off.

"Yes the climate is very different down south. It's days like yesterday that make me envy your summer snows."

The pair chucked as they kept walking.

"I wish we could get some snow down here...back in Winterfell Sansa,Arya,Bran, and Rickon would have snowball fights in the courtyard." She said and looked down remembering Bran would have no more control over his legs if he were ever to wake from his sleep.

Cersei looked to Serena sympathetically.

"I was shocked to hear the news when he fell...I was glad the Mother heard my prayers and spared your brothers life. Does he remember anything from the fall?" Cersei asked wanting to seem interested.

"I don't know...no one does. He has not awoken yet."

Cersei looked to the girl with a bit of shock on her face.

"You have not heard? Your brother is awake. The raven came this morning.

Serena could not remember receiving any ravens this morning. If they had someone would have for sure told her of the news.

"He has? What else does the raven say?"

Cersei informed her on the rest of the parchment and what it had said. Bran was alive and well and that was all. The Queen had hoped they had received word from home with a little bit more detail on the boy's condition. Perhaps they had just not heard yet and word would come soon. The Queen was very curious as to the conditon of the young boy. What had he remembered from that day? Did he still have the use of his arms or legs? Obviously Serena did not want to think to much on that so Cersei let it go and just continued to admire the flowers and allowed the dark haired beauty to just enjoy the news that her younger brother was awake and well.

Torrhen was standing guard as Ned was leading a Small Council meeting. There was a lot to discuss including the upcoming tournament which Ned was not enthusiastic about. Despite his protests the King still wanted the tourney to go through despite the fact the treasury couldn't afford the champions purses. The realm was already six million gold in debt and it didn't need to be eighty thousand more. The Lannisters essentially owned the Seven Kingdoms with owning half the debt the Crown,Robert being married to Robert, and Jaime Lannister being a member of the Kingsguard. There was golden hair everywhere one looked in the Capital.

Eventually all the business was dealt with the meeting was dismissed. All the councilors stood and bowed before the Hand Of The King before gathering their things before walking out of the chamber. Torrhen followed his father out of the Small Council chambers into the Throne Room passing by the Iron Throne. It was a magnificent piece of work with all the swords of Aegon's enemies melted down into a chair that didn't really look comfortable. It was a miracle no one put a cushion on it to make it more comfortable. As they made it about halfway into the room the voice of Grand Maester Pycelle stopped them.

"Lord Stark."

The pair stopped and tuned around around to see the old man struggling to walk towards them.

"I meant to give this to you earlier...so forgetful these days. A raven arrived from Winterfell this morning."

Ned took the rolled up parchment from the Grand Maester's hand and nodded and he left. Ned broke the seal on the parchment and unrolled it reading the words it contained. The raven brought good and bad news from the North. Bran had woken up from his sleep however he would never walk again from the fall.

"Good news?" The voice of Littlefigner echoed through the throne room. "Perhaps you'd like to share it with your wife."

Ned looked at him as he walked by confused.

"My wife is in Witnerfell."

"Is she?"

Ned watched as Baelish walked away wondering what he meant with that question.

"I think I would know where my wife is." Ned spat out.

Baelish turned around with a smile.

"Clearly not...follow me and I shall take you to her."

"This better not be a trick."

"It's not a trick."

Baelish then turned around and Ned and Torrhen followed. Torrhen was skeptical of Littlefinger despite him saying that he was a friend of Catelyn. He seemed like the kind of man who would throw his friends away for his own personal gain so his relationship to Cat meant nothing in truth. Perhaps he was wrong and they had at least one true ally in Kings Landing. They walked around the city in silence Ned becoming more and more weary of the man and his motives as they traveled.

Eventually they came across a building and Petyr lead them up to it. It was a brothel and both Ned and Torrhen both thought the same thing...it was a set up.

"This is one of many such establishments I own...I thought she would be safest here."

Ned then gripped Baelish's throat tightly and shoved him back against the wall. He gripped at his throat trying to get the hand off from his neck and get air down his throat but couldn't and just gasped for air while attempting to plead with Ned to let him go.

"You think you are funny don't you?"

"Ned!" A familiar voice called.

Ned and Torrhen looked up to see Catelyn looking out from the window. Ned then let Petyr go now embarrassed by his actions. He then entered the establishment heading up the stairs to find his wife. Torrhen looked to Baelish for a moment before following his father into the brothel to see Cat. When he arrived upstairs Ned and Cateyln in each other's arms happy to see each other. Ned while exited to see his wife he wondered why she was here and what was with the secrecy of the visit.

"What are you doing here Cat?"

"I had to tell you something but the words could not be trusted to a raven."

"What is it?"

Cat looked around making sure there were no other ears around to hear.

"Bran did not fall from that tower...he was pushed."

Ned's eyes widened at the allegation that someone had pushed their boy from the tower.

"Who would push a boy of ten from a tower?"

"Because he saw something he wasn't supposed to see. Shortly after the fall a cutthroat was hired to kill Bran. Thank the Gods for that wolf who killed him. I tried to stop him but..." She lifted up her hands showing the slight scars left behind from the wounds that Ned had not noticed.

"My God."

"I fine Ned...but the cutthroat was welding this dagger."

Ned looked at the dagger noticing how fine a blade it was. It was made of Valyrian Steel with a dragon bone hilt. It was far too fine a blade for a lowly assassin.

"That blade was owned by Tyrion Lannister before it came into the hands of this assassin."

"You think the Lannisters tried to kill Bran? Why would Tyrion arm an assassin with his own blade?"

"Why does a Lannister do anything?" Torrhen chimed in.

Ned took in this information realizing his son did not fall but was in fact shoved from the top of the tower. This changed everything if there was a plot to kill his son...but why? The death of Jon Arryn and now the near murder of his son Ned now knew there was more to this than meets the eyes. There was something going on and it wasn't just coincidence.

"You must find out what happened Ned...our son may never be safe as long as these people are allowed to roam free."

Ned cupped his wife's face in his hands looking into her eyes were glowing with fear. She was afraid for her little boy who had been shoved from a high window by some sick person. They both were afraid as parents it was their right...it would be wrong not to. Ned would do everything possible to get to the bottom of what was going on. There was definitely a much larger conspiracy in motion and it had to be uncovered quickly.

"I swear to you Cat I will find out what happened to our son. If the Lannister's are in fact behind it then I will find the evidence and bring it to the King. Our boy will have justice."

Another long Small Council meeting in the books. The crown was still not much closer to getting out of debt with this upcoming tournament. Now the city was swelling with visitors to attend the tourney and crime was starting to rise as tavern brawls broke out and thievery increased. At this point Ned has wished that he had stayed in Winterfell as ruling the North was much easier than trying to rule the entire country. Coming south the northern Lord was under the impression that he was going to help rule not actually ruling it himself. Robert was off doing what Robert does and Ned was here running the Kingdom...fighting a war was much easier than this. After the meeting Ned stood up watching the councilors leave with Baelish being the last as is the usual. The pair left and began to walk around the grounds of the Red Keep with Torrhen in tow.

"I hear you are reading a boring book."

Ned wasn't surprised to hear that Baelish knew what he was up to. The entire Small Council had more spies than the rest of the world combined between Littlefinger and Varys. Of course Pycelle could have mentioned something as well.

"Pycelle talks to much."

"Oh he never stops...do you know Ser Hugh of the Vale?"

Ned turned to look to the Master of Coin not knowing of who he had mentioned. Torrhen had heard of the name once or twice but like his father didn't know who the man was.

"Not surprising...until recently he was only a squire...Jon Arryn's squire."

Both Ned and Torrhen looked to Littlefinger shocked. If anybody would know anything about Jon Arryn it would be his former squire.

"He was knighted shortly after the untimely death of his master."

"Knighted for what? Why are you telling me this?"

"I promised Cat I would help you."

Torrhen was skeptical of Baelish. Everyone he knew was skeptical of the Master of Coin. A man whose family had no wealth or barely a title was now one of the most powerful men in all of Westeros. As well there was no doubt he still had affections for the Lady Stark...affections which may cause trouble down the line. He swore by all the Gods if Littlefinger betrayed them he would execute the man himself.

"Where is Ser Hugh...I shall speak to him."

"A seemingly bad idea." Baelish said.

He then pointed to two boys exposing them as Vary's little birds. He then pointed to an old man claiming him to be one of Cersei's spies. Lastly he pointed out a Septa which just so happened to be one of his spies. How many spies were in this city? Looking at all the spies in their vicinity alone it would seem that everyone in this city was a spy working for someone feeding them information that they would find useful.

"Do you have a man in your service that you trust?"

"I do."

"The correct answer would be no. Send word to this paragon of yours and have them question Ser Hugh. After that you may want to visit a certain armorer in the city. It is possible that he was seen visiting this armorer in the final weeks before his untimely death."

"Perhaps I was wrong to distrust you."

Petyr looked to the Warden of the North.

"Distrusting me was the wisest thing you've done since getting off your horse."
