By the way, all my other works have been updated, and I invite you to read and enjoy them, except for Tokyo Ghoul Crossover, as I'm still searching for the original files.
Greetings to everyone.
The cold and cutting wind whistled through the frozen wasteland as the advanced squad of Atlas soldiers, led by the newly promoted Field Officer Ironwood, continued their reconnaissance mission towards the area where reports of unusual activity had surfaced in the past twelve hours, resulting in drastic changes in the surrounding geography.
Among them was First-Class Soldier Jensen, whose face bore the signs of military discipline and determination in his eyes. The mission's objective was clear: investigate whatever was happening in this remote region of Remnant. However, as they advanced, an unsettling sense of unease gripped the group. There were no signs of life for kilometers around, only the endless snow cover and the ominous whispers of the wind.
As they ventured further into the wasteland, shadows began to move at the periphery of their vision. Grimms, the dark and terrifying creatures that lurked in the darkness, emerged from the snow in a surprise ambush.
Chaos erupted, and the Atlas soldiers, armed with high-tech weaponry, did their best to confront the Grimms. Dust firebursts lit up the night, but the darkness seemed to swallow every glimmer of hope.
Jensen felt a knot in his stomach as he struggled to keep his composure. Comrades with whom he had shared laughter and training were being dragged away one by one in the maelstrom of battle. Their cries of anguish and fear were lost in the howling wind and the Grimms' roars.
Among the Grimms, they were surrounded by packs of Goliaths, which had destroyed the surrounding trees as traps. A powerful Frost Geist was the spearhead that kept the team's most experienced soldiers at bay, while Griffons and Manticores feasted on the stragglers who had decided to flee the battlefield.
Desperation washed over him when he saw his friend, Sergeant Harris, fall to a Beowolf. He ran towards him, firing at point-blank range, but it was too late. The Beowolf had snatched Harris's life before his own eyes.
Jensen fought with all his might, but the Grimms seemed endless, relentless in their ferocity. Every spent bullet and every inflicted wound were not enough to halt the charge of the dark creatures.
As he battled, tears froze on his cheeks, and the cold seemed to penetrate the depths of his soul. The Grimms showed no mercy, and every attempt at resistance was met with more ferocity.
Jensen looked around, seeing his comrades fall one by one. He knew the odds were against them, but he couldn't give up. He loaded his Dust weapon once more and prepared to face his fate with courage, ready to fight to the last breath in honor of his fallen friends.
Amidst the desolation and horror, Jensen understood the true nature of the struggle in Remnant. It was a desperate battle for survival in a world where darkness lurked in every corner, and hope seemed as fleeting as a snowflake in the wind.
However, in an unexpected turn of events, a powerful cry rang out from deep within the forest, marking a turning point amid the war zone between the hordes of powerful Grimms.
First-Class Soldier Jensen watched in astonishment and bewilderment as two unknown young individuals appeared out of nowhere in the midst of the frozen battlefield. Their partially torn clothes and determined faces hinted at their deepest intentions as they set foot in an area surrounded by death and despair.
What truly astonished him was the mysterious and ethereal glow that became iridescent with flashes of blue light surrounding the outlines of their bodies. The elder, a red-haired boy, held firmly in his hands what appeared to be a simple stick, which also showed subtle changes when enveloped in the same light. On the other hand, the younger one was a black-haired girl who stood in the rear, tirelessly hurling stones of various sizes that gleamed with the same light, as if they were improvised projectiles. With astonishing precision, these projectiles flew towards the nearby Grimms.
In an instant, the young redhead found himself between two large Beowolves, but he remained undisturbed and delivered powerful blows between the Grimm's heads, not allowing them to react. Both ended up on the ground completely stunned before being finished off with a powerful final blow to their skulls, disappearing into the dark dust. From the air, injured griffons with damaged wings descended to the ground and were finished off with wounds of varying degrees. The small black-haired girl remained calm and steadfast in her own task, allowing nearby soldiers to deal with the fallen prey from the sky.
Shirou and Miyu were injured and on the brink of exhaustion, but they remained steadfast in the fight. They fought with determination, continuing with swift and coordinated movements, despite the limitations of their makeshift weapons. Although they didn't make a notable difference in the fight against the dark creatures, their effort and resolve were undeniable on the battlefield.
First-Class Soldier Jensen, who had seen many battles in his life, couldn't help but feel perplexed by the presence of these young people on the battlefield. He wondered who they were and how they had ended up there. Were they refugees? Could they be a pair of siblings who had been caught in the midst of the fight?
Despite his unanswered questions, the actions of the two youngsters allowed them to experience a brief respite amid the chaos. While the Grimms faced unexpected intruders, the Atlas soldiers had a moment of renewed vigor, allowing them a brief reprieve before attacking with new determination. Soldier Jensen looked at the two young ones with admiration, recognizing their bravery and their desire to protect the Atlas soldiers, even if he didn't know who they were. He was deeply grateful from the bottom of his heart.
In the midst of the battle, as the icy wind blew around them and the Dust lights flickered on and off in the dark night, Soldier Jensen experienced a momentary feeling of peace. He knew the fight was not over yet, but for a brief moment, the presence of the unknown young individuals gave him and his comrades a small glimmer of hope in the darkness of Remnant.
Shirou fought tenaciously with his improvised wooden sword, feeling the weight of fatigue accumulating in his body. Every blow he struck and every exchange with the creatures rapidly depleted the limited amount of mana available in his body. He feared that his mana would run out before he could replenish it and stay in the fight, but his determination remained unbroken. He had made a decision: he was willing to sacrifice part of his stamina and vitality in this desperate and hopeful act to save these people. In his mind, he always had Miyu, a constant source of inspiration and pride.
While Shirou bravely faced the creatures, Miyu was in another corner of the battlefield. She had been surrounded by some of the soldiers guarding the rear, protecting her from the relentless airborne Grimms threatening to attack her. From her position, Miyu launched mana-infused explosive projectiles, keeping the enemies at bay and contributing to the group's defense.
Both siblings were determined to give their all for this cause, no matter how grueling the battle became. They knew they were in an unfamiliar world, surrounded by danger, but their determination was unwavering as they fought to protect those in peril.
In the midst of this fierce confrontation, hordes of Grimms surged toward them in endless waves. On one side, the Atlas soldiers fought with all their might, but it seemed they were finally being overwhelmed. On the other, both Shirou and Miyu realized that this could be their last battle, but they were determined to fight to the end.
As they battled the dark creatures, their minds were filled with mixed thoughts. They remembered their previous world, the joy and happiness they had experienced living together, finally accepting their sibling bond and opening up to each other. They also silently thanked their stepfather, Kiritsugu Emiya, who had, in one way or another, marked a change and a new beginning in their lives. But at the same time, they held onto the joy of being together in this new world, an opportunity life had given them, even if it was ephemeral and bittersweet.
Fatigue enveloped them, their bodies grew weaker, but their spirits remained unbroken. They looked at each other from a distance, he on the front lines, she from the rear, but their gazes conveyed everything that couldn't be expressed in words: love, gratitude, siblinghood, and happiness. What both siblings felt for each other was a deep fraternal bond.
"Miyu, no matter what happens, I'm grateful we found each other in this world," Shirou whispered as he faced and countered the venomous attack of a Manticore.
"Me too, brother, always together!" Miyu responded from a distance with a faint smile.
It was in that moment, with their resolve at its peak and using their last reserves of magical energy, that they both charged into the horde of Grimms. They faced the darkness and chaos of the creatures with courage and sibling love. No matter how many blows they took or how many spells they cast, their determination and the strength of their bond were unbreakable. They knew they might not survive, but they were willing to give it their all for the Atlas soldiers and the uncertain future that awaited them.
Amidst the battle, Shirou and Miyu fought like two souls destined to trust each other, facing adversity with bravery and sibling love. Their tears and blood mixed with the falling snow, amid the embodied despair. Their fraternal love shone like a light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the midst of the storm of battle.
Since the dawn of humanity in the world of Remnant, light and darkness, personified by the will of the Twin Gods, represented two opposing forces that shaped the beginning and end of the world they crafted in their image. In a moment of reflection, both brothers channeled their powers to create and mold the human soul, endowing it with the ability to transform the world around them.
The elder brother, as the guardian of light, infused humans with the spark of hope in their hearts, enabling them to shine even in the darkest moments. His light would serve as a beacon to guide those who felt lost and hopeless, offering them a safe haven that would provide peace and the strength needed to face their challenges with the confidence that everything would be okay.
Before his departure, the elder brother bestowed several gifts upon humanity, among which the ability to create and knowledge stood out. These gifts allowed humans to develop technology, build cities, and advance in various disciplines. In legends, this god was described as a warm embrace on a cold night and as the dawn that follows the darkest night.
The younger brother, as the guardian of darkness, instilled in humans a sense of despair rooted deep within their hearts. He was depicted as a looming shadow that lurked to devour them, like an endless abyss from which they could not escape. Due to conflicts and misunderstandings, he decided to withdraw some of the gifts and talents he had previously granted to humanity.
However, before his departure, the younger brother, through a pact with his elder brother, granted humanity one last gift: the ability of destruction and choice, which could be used to shape their destiny. Although humanity did not fully grasp its greatness and significance, darkness continued to represent the fear, doubt, and uncertainty that loomed when all seemed lost.
Ultimately, this balance between light and darkness proved to be essential. A heart filled with darkness would always hold a spark of light, a small flame of hope that would never be completely extinguished. Each individual's task was to discover it, nurture it, and allow it to illuminate their destiny, forging a new path even when darkness threatened to engulf it entirely.
The struggle between light and darkness constituted a fundamental part of the human experience. In moments when despair seemed overwhelming, it was crucial to remember that light was always present, waiting to be found. The Twin Gods served as a reminder of the need for both, and hope never completely faded, even in the darkest moments of humanity.
Between their last moments of clarity and consciousness, both siblings noticed that their bodies were in critical condition. It was a strange moment for them as they couldn't feel pain or any physical sensation. It resembled a lucid dream in which strange voices began to take presence, initiating a slow but steady process of change in their bodies.
The atmosphere around each sibling was different. A shimmering golden and silver light enveloped both of them, releasing a mysterious energy that began altering their physical forms. In the midst of the battlefield, two pairs of rectangular objects on their bodies shone intensely, flooding the surroundings with vibrant colors.
Above Miyu's body, a Class Card appeared, radiating golden and celestial glimmers, bathing her in its own light. This card was of the Ruler class, initially shrouded in darkness but slowly changing its appearance, revealing its identity as that of Jeanne d'Arc. At this point, the card exuded an impressive majesty. Like some ancient, time-worn scroll, it released all the power it held. Its surface, once adorned with intricate golden patterns that gleamed with a divine radiance, peeled away to surround Miyu's still-conscious body.
From the center of the card, the figure of Jeanne d'Arc emerged and took corporeal form before Miyu's astonished gaze. The Servant stood with indescribable dignity and grace, dressed in her golden armor and holding her standard high, a symbol of hope and bravery. Her blue eyes seemed to pierce directly into the young girl's soul.
Around Jeanne, a golden light radiated in multiple directions, as if she were about to ascend to the heavens. Her golden hair floated in an unseen wind, and her serene yet determined expression conveyed unwavering resolve.
Jeanne d'Arc, in her spiritual form, approached Miyu with a look filled with determination and compassion. Her voice resonated in Miyu's mind in an ethereal and gentle manner.
"I am the Servant Jeanne d'Arc, also known in life as Joan of Arc. I have been summoned because my Class Card has responded to your heart, Miyu Emiya."
Miyu was left speechless as she beheld Jeanne d'Arc, the legendary heroine who had fought for justice in a world of darkness. She was an epic embodiment of courage, hope, and divinity. The young girl couldn't help but feel deep reverence for the heroine who now stood before her.
"Miyu Emiya, you are a young girl with a strong sense of justice and devotion, determined to protect others. I have been watching you for a long time, and I have chosen you as the recipient of my power and legacy. You may not believe me now, but in your hands lies a new hope for this long-forgotten world."
Miyu was still taken aback by Jeanne's appearance, and her eyes showed disbelief.
"But I... Why me? I don't understand why I should receive your powers. I'm just a kid. If you were looking for someone more worthy, you'd understand that my brother, Shirou, would be the perfect candidate."
Jeanne smiled with tenderness and understanding, as if she comprehended Miyu's doubts.
"Age doesn't define bravery or the nobility of the heart. In you, I see the same passion and determination that led me to fight for justice in my time. You are the right one to carry forward my legacy. Besides, every person has their own path and purpose. You, Miyu, have the gift to touch the hearts of others and inspire hope in dark times. You are the chosen one for this challenge."
Miyu lowered her gaze, overwhelmed by the responsibility entrusted to her.
"But... What am I supposed to do? All of this sounds so overwhelming! I don't know if I can go on this journey alone. My brother, Shirou, has always been by my side, protecting me. I don't want to go on without him!"
Doubts filled Miyu's eyes, but Jeanne responded with infinite calm and understanding.
"I understand your fears, Miyu, but your brother has his own destiny and path to follow. He too will be guided by his own convictions and challenges. But fear not, even though you may not always see me, I will be by your side, watching over you and protecting you at every step of the way."
Jeanne's words were a comforting balm to Miyu's worried heart.
"Will you really be by my side, Jeanne?"
Jeanne nodded with a serene smile.
"I will always be with you in spirit and in heart, Miyu. Together, we will face whatever destiny has in store for us, with courage and hope."
Miyu felt a profound relief knowing that her brother would accompany her on this new journey, with the support and guidance of Jeanne d'Arc. With a lighter heart and renewed determination, she prepared to embrace her destiny with bravery.
Jeanne extended her hand toward Miyu, and a golden spark shone between them.
"Take my power, Miyu, and use it to protect the innocent. In your heart, you will find the answers you need to wield my strength. It will be a path filled with hardships, but I can see it, you are the hope this world needs."
Miyu hesitated for a moment, then reached out her hand to Jeanne. She felt a surge of divine energy flow through her, like a torrent of light and determination, as she found herself surrounded by a tangle of golden flames, as if the sacred fire of passion and justice protected her. Each flame was unique, and they seemed to dance with a life of their own, as if imbued with divine power. Her eyes filled with determination as she embraced her destiny.
"I will do everything in my power to protect this world, Jeanne. I won't let you down."
Jeanne nodded with gratitude and love, knowing she had made the right choice in entrusting Miyu. The young girl's courage had resonated in her heart, and she was confident that together they would face the future with courage and hope, just as she had in her own time.
The atmosphere on the battlefield grew increasingly intense, with a silver light gleaming steadily, releasing a mysterious energy. All of this emanated from a rectangular object resting on Shirou Emiya's body and soon began to envelop itself with such intense radiance that it finally shrouded the surroundings in a silvery aura.
A Class Card made its triumphant entrance, emitting silver gleams and exuding an intriguing and complex aura, as if it were composed of a blend of wood, steel, fire, and a touch of humanity.
The card in question initially belonged to the Archer class, but gradually, its appearance changed, revealing its identity as Emiya. This transformation served as a constant reminder of the duality of his nature and the depth of his character.
At this point, the card radiated remarkable intensity and determination. On its surface, a fierce-eyed archer aimed his bow toward the horizon, with an arrow drawn taut and ready to be released. The bow was imbued with a bluish light, as if charged with indomitable magical power.
From the center of the card, the figure of Emiya emerged and materialized until it reached a normal size in front of Shirou. It was at that moment that Archer's voice resonated in Shirou's mind in an ethereal and profound manner, looking at him seriously.
"I am a Servant of the Archer class, Emiya. I am a counter-guardian, a hero forged in iron. I have had many names throughout my extensive existence, but I have answered your call because I have perceived a change in you, Shirou Emiya, a change that I could never have imagined."
Shirou frowned, feeling a strange familiarity. "Wait a moment... Your appearance, your attire... You seem vaguely familiar to me. Who are you, and why do I feel this way?"
Archer sighed with some annoyance. "I am the same Archer you have been summoning by installing the Class Card. Although at this moment, I am before you in my spiritual form, a manifestation of my being as a Heroic Spirit."
Archer set aside his bow, allowing it to dissipate into translucent crystal particles. Then, he slowly produced the iconic twin swords, Kanshou and Bakuya, in his hands. He held them with a casual yet meaningful stance, wishing to show the young man that his casual gesture carried profound significance.
"These are Kanshou and Bakuya, Shirou."
Shirou observed them with interest and amazement. "These swords... I've seen them before. But who are you really?"
Archer nodded solemnly. Looking at the young Shirou Emiya, he recognized that at one point in his life, both were a perfect physical reflection of each other. However, now that he had him in front of him, he noticed the differences in their experiences and current life approaches. There was a fierce determination in the eyes of this young Shirou, but also an unbreakable sense of sacrifice that Archer understood all too well.
"In a way, we could say that I am an older version of yourself. I have lived many lives and faced many battles."
Shirou tried to process the information. He was analyzing the figure in front of him, looking with astonishment and respect at the man, recognizing in an inexplicable way an undeniable similarity from his physical appearance, but also from a shared origin that was impossible to distinguish, as if they were two peas in a pod. "It's hard to believe, but your presence... I feel like I've known it somehow."
Archer smiled with determination. "That familiarity is due to the connection we share, despite the differences in our lives, our souls are intertwined. I've come here today because I see something in you. Something I lost along the way."
Shirou continued to try to understand, memories flooding his mind.
"It's as if... I've felt your ideals before. Why does all of this seem so familiar to me?" Noticing Archer's gaze on the swords, Shirou couldn't help but ask, "What do they represent to you, Archer?"
Archer found himself staring at the swords but refused to answer, then he resumed speaking, recalling his own past.
"From the beginning, I was alone, at the pinnacle of my own world, a place where I kept rising again and again throughout my life, for the selfless good of others. When I died, I did so with a smile on my face, thinking I was satisfied."
Both were now looking at illusory scenes that emerged with each word from Archer.
"Despite being mediocre, after putting in the effort and shedding my blood, a miracle happened before me. It was then that I thought I could achieve happiness because, in my childishness at the time, my own hypocrisy made me believe that if I could make everyone else happy, I could attain a happiness that wouldn't even come close to matching theirs combined."
Archer's voice filled with emptiness.
"But... No one rewarded me."
The scenes shifted to a guillotine, blood, rain on his body, and the anger of all those he had once saved, now showing contempt for Archer.
"All I achieved was continuing my role as a guardian even after selling my eternal rest."
It was now that Shirou Emiya began to understand that Servants could be summoned from different times. Heroic Spirits could come from the present, the past, or even the future. There was nothing to prevent a Servant from being summoned to their own time, let alone their city of origin.
"You can imagine my frustration and my prayers being answered when it happened. Because in the end, I had thought that none of us could be saved."
Archer remained serious as he continued.
A faint shadow of a young teenager appeared ethereally for a moment before disappearing before a surprised young Shirou.
"Those involved in that occasion could only observe our confrontation, but the surprises life can offer are uncertain. She stood by his side until the end, watching over his changes, despite moments of suffering. She could never stop loving the fool who idealized becoming a hero of justice by following in our father's footsteps, Kiritsugu Emiya."
Kiritsugu Emiya's smile at Shirou was what set his destiny in motion.
"Unlike me, who gave up my future, regretting it to the point of breaking my ideals, that fool knew the kind of fate that awaited him if he blindly followed my footsteps. But now, he had someone by his side to prevent him from ending up like me. In contrast, I was alone, drowning in my ideals, thinking that it might be the perfect opportunity to save others even after my death. All because in life, I didn't have the power to save them, so I believed that by becoming a Heroic Spirit, I could prevent tragedies, accepting the small price to pay, my rest after death."
Walking through deserts, through ruined cities, shooting arrows and using his swords, ending the lives of the condemned and the innocent alike.
"I lost my way when I saw my confidence in saving thousands of lives betrayed by losing my hope. Confirming something so obvious, but something I refused to accept after so long, being betrayed over and over. In the end, even my greatest ideal betrayed me, letting my childish illusions drag me down was my greatest regret."
The shadow of a solitary hero on top of the hill of swords being impaled by various weapons, bleeding profusely, struggling to hold the weight of a broken sword.
Archer's tone reached its peak as Shirou expressed incredulity and denial.
"That's why at some point before regretting, I found myself face to face with Kanshou and Bakuya for the first time. That is a moment in my existence I will never forget. Within the ruins of what was once the castle of some secluded king in the ancient Wu region of China, during one of my many missions, I found them, hidden under vast amounts of gold, weapons, paintings, gemstones, and other treasures that had long been forgotten in time, in one of the royal vaults."
As he held the twin swords in his hands, a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions flooded him.
"My first impression was the perfection of their craftsmanship. The swords were a masterpiece, with sharp blades and carefully wrought details. Due to our structural analysis skills, I could confirm that both were created without vanity, lacking the sense of purpose found in other swords I had wielded before. They contained no fighting spirit to defeat others, no competitive spirit to outdo other weapons, no desire for fame, nor the faith to achieve great feats."
Archer could feel the balance and precision in every centimeter of the weapons, as if they had been created especially for him. But beyond their physical appearance, the swords represented something much deeper.
"You have to know that the swords are a reflection of our duality, Shirou. These weapons symbolize my inner struggle between my ideals of justice and the cruel reality I faced in my life. Kanshou, its true Noble Phantasm name is Gān Jiàng, in honor of the blacksmith who created them, is a curved black blade, covered in a hexagonal pattern. On the other hand, Bakuya is named Mò Yé, the name of the blacksmith's wife, is a white curved blade, which has less luster but is so similar to the mist of a cloud."
"Kanshou, the sword that cuts the sky, symbolizes my desire to protect and serve others, to achieve my own ideal of justice. Bakuya, the sword that cuts the earth, represents the reality I ultimately faced, the need to make sacrifices and difficult decisions."
Shirou nodded, understanding the profound connection that Archer had with his weapons.
"I understand, Archer. They are a constant reminder of your struggles and your quest for justice, but why are you showing me these swords?"
Archer smiled enigmatically, as if he were conveying an important lesson.
"I have summoned you here because I see in you the possibility of a future I never had. Emiya Shirou, these swords will also represent a completely different path from the one I took in pursuing my own ideals and struggles. If you choose to accept my powers, you will also inherit the origin of my duality in its entirety, but you will tread an unknown path that you yourself have chosen."
Shirou was confused but also reluctant. He, on his part, made numerous objections and excuses. But Archer approached until he was in front of the young man while placing one of his hands on Shirou's head, slowly ruffling his hair.
"It's true that I have more experience, but I've also lived with the weight of my choices and the burden of my ideals. You, on the other hand, have the opportunity to live differently, to find a purpose that guides you without sacrificing your humanity. You can trust that Kanshou and Bakuya will remind you that, even as you face challenges and dilemmas, you can move forward and protect those you love, as long as you remain steadfast in this new destiny you've chosen. I've kept my eyes on you for some time, so I know what you're capable of. I'm simply offering you a hand so you can walk your own path."
Shirou frowned, trying to comprehend his counterpart's words.
"And what would that purpose be, Archer?"
Archer pointed toward Miyu, whose figure was in the distance.
"You still have a heart and a reason to go on, Emiya Shirou. Your sister, Miyu Sakatsuki, now Miyu Emiya, is under your protection. You have the opportunity to shield her, to ensure her safety and well-being. That connection is something I never had. There's no way your path will end the same way mine did."
Shirou looked at Miyu, who was still unconscious in the rear of the war zone, hesitating and thinking before exchanging a glance with Archer.
"So, in the end, you decided to offer your powers, ¿for me to protect Miyu?"
Archer nodded solemnly.
"Exactly. In you, I see the potential to move forward without sacrificing everything you are. Take my powers, Shirou Emiya, and use them to protect those you love and to forge your own path in this new world."
Shirou, after a moment of reflection, accepted Archer's offer, recognizing that this version of himself was offering a unique opportunity to move forward and protect his sister.
Taking the twin swords in his hands with a renewed sense of determination. He now understood that these weapons were not just tools of battle but also symbols of the connection between him and Archer, and of their shared commitment to protect Miyu. Holding both Kanshou and Bakuya in his hands, Shirou prepared to face the future challenges that awaited them, determined to keep protecting his little sister.
Because his body was made of swords!
The background of blazing flames behind the archer created a stunning contrast with Shirou. The flames danced between them with an unquenchable fierceness, as if representing the passion and inner strength of the archer. Furthermore, a multitude of ancient runes emerged, enveloping the young man's limbs, which seemed to be charged with impressive magical power, emitting a deep blue glow that contrasted with the fiery red background flames.
The battlefield was shrouded in chaos. The surviving Atlas soldiers fought desperately against hordes of Grimms. Despite having battled for hours, they had slowly lost the motivation to continue, watching as the mysterious siblings who had intervened in the war were gradually succumbing to their battle wounds, disappearing amidst the ravages of the conflict.
Jensen, a first-class soldier, currently struggled to remain upright within the fierce battle. General Ironwood, in the distance, still held his ground, but the extent of his injuries was critical. The unexpected and momentary hope offered by the pair of children had ended as fleetingly as it had arisen.
Amidst his struggle, the war veteran felt a profound need to do more than just keep on fighting. Looking up at the darkened sky, accompanied by an unrelenting snowstorm, he impulsively knelt in the snow, his trembling hands joining together in a sincere and pure gesture of supplication.
"Oh, mighty Twin Gods!" Jensen whispered in anguished desperation. "If there was ever a moment when we need your help, it is now. We are in the midst of darkness, fighting for our survival. Please, bestow your blessing upon this land to aid us, let your power manifest in our world and change the fate of this battle."
To others on the battlefield, it might have seemed like the war veteran had lost his mind in his moment of utmost despair, but many couldn't help but wish to emerge alive from this predicament to see their families once more.
As he prayed, a powerful, soft light began to emerge from deep within the snow, from all directions. It was a faint glow, but it was growing, spreading across the battlefield. The light also descended from the heavens, illuminating everything around and causing the snow to melt, revealing fertile ground that began to sprout with life, accelerating the growth of trees and surrounding vegetation. The shadows that had darkened the sky began to dissipate, giving way to rays of golden light.
Jensen looked on in awe as the miracle unfolded before his eyes. It was as if the Twin Gods had heard his plea and responded with an act of grace. The icy wasteland was transforming before his eyes, and the despair that had reigned before was slowly fading.
Just at their moment of greatest need, in what seemed like a battle destined to be lost, Jensen and his comrades came to a sudden halt, stunned by the sudden appearance of two figures.
These were the figures of both siblings, but something was entirely different. Both were surrounded by an enigmatic, divine aura, shining with intense luminosity, their outlines shimmering with an unprecedented energy that could not be ignored.
The elder of the siblings had undergone a complete change. His facial features transformed instantly. The expression in his gray eyes became sterner and more resolute, reflecting intensity and determination. His once unruly, reddish hair smoothed and lightened, with some silver strands on the left side gleaming with a metallic sheen.
His attire had also changed completely. The tattered remnants of what had once been his clothing had vanished, replaced by sleek red and black armor that fit his youthful frame perfectly. An emblem of an archer, combined with the golden cross on his chest, glowed with a mystical radiance, emanating a sense of immense power.
His hands now held a radiant bow, with ethereal arrows in a quiver on his back. Every one of his movements exuded confidence and combat experience, as if he had spent years perfecting his archery skills.
The young girl had undergone a stunning metamorphosis, as if light itself had descended upon her. Her once dark hair became wavy, flowing down to her shoulders. A crown of white and blue flowers materialized on her head, emulating the iconic crown. Her reddish-brown irises, which had once been warm and friendly, now radiated deep serenity and determination.
Her attire had also transformed completely. She now wore silver and blue armor adorned with golden accents and a flowing cape that extended from her shoulders. On her chest, a golden cross-shaped emblem shone with divine luminosity. She carried a standard bearing the fleur-de-lis, gracefully held in her right hand.
At her left waist rested a divine sword that seemed to emit pure, dazzling light. Every one of her movements radiated serene confidence and a sense of authority, as if she were the embodiment of justice and holiness itself.
It was as if both siblings, surrounded by a sacred aura, were mythological beings descended from the heavens.
Jensen watched in amazement as the two siblings exchanged a brief glance; the smiles on their faces were genuine, with a wide range of emotions that flickered briefly before they separated, each heading in different directions on the battlefield.
The young man advanced decisively to the front lines. His face showed not a hint of hesitation. Raising his black bow, he executed a fluid and precise movement, releasing an arrow imbued with an unknown and mystical power toward the leader of the Goliath pack. The arrow sliced through the air like lightning and struck its target with deadly accuracy, causing the leader of the Grimms to vanish in a burst of dark smoke.
The other nearby Grimms, the formidable Geist, roared in fury and surged toward the red-haired youth in a shadowy wave. However, in a surprising twist, the elder brother dropped his bow, which shattered into fragments of light. He shifted his stance with impressive fluidity, as if drawing a pair of twin swords from the very ether, which emerged in luminous flashes, burning with a power that could only be described in legends and myths. He wielded them with undeniable mastery in both hands.
The swords radiated their brilliance in the darkness of the night, with an almost hypnotic glow. The young man became a blur in a matter of seconds, literally transforming into a whirlwind of steel that danced among the Grimms with graceful and deadly movements. Each cut and thrust was a lethal dance, and the creatures fell one after another, defeated by his expertise.
The battle had transformed into a surreal stage of lights and shadows as the siblings unleashed their divine power, protecting the Atlas soldiers with abilities and skills that seemed drawn from ancient legends. Jensen was inspired by their bravery and determination. Despite continuing to battle the Grimms, he did so now with a renewed hope pulsing in his heart.
As they shifted their gaze towards the little girl, they found her at the center of the battlefield, holding a banner high with pride, despite the critical situation in which the soldiers were desperately fighting against the Grimm forces.
The appearance of the girl became a moment of transcendence and sacredness in history.
"I know I am weak, and alone, I may not have the ability to make a difference, but there is always a way to save everyone, ¿isn't there?" the girl said, her voice initially frail but gaining strength on its own, reaching the ears of everyone on the field.
The sun seemed to embody divinity as it blessed the girl's form in an authentic miracle.
"This banner has always remained high, encouraging and inspiring all those who wish to walk by my side," she continued.
Feelings of peace, fulfillment, happiness, love, justice, and prosperity began to bloom among humanity.
"I will offer you my help, as the Lord once offered me His grace. We will advance together against adversity. We cannot give up without a fight!"
Closing her eyes, Miyu focused inward, feeling a deep joy as she realized that the translucent image of Joan of Arc smiling slowly took its place beside her. The heroine of Orleans held her own banner, waving it with an inspiration that sent shivers down Miyu's spine. Inspired by Joan, she adopted her posture, emulating the Servant's movements. She felt a light slowly emanating from her heart, becoming visible outside her body.
Faith, devotion, and goodwill brought forgotten miracles to life.
"Now I know what I must do! To all of you who still stand determined not to abandon your comrades, but also to those who have lost hope for not having the strength to go on," she proclaimed.
Today, the light that had dimmed in the hearts of the people of Remnant was shining once more. In the future, this boundless devotion would become a reality!
"Allow me to carry your faith and your hearts, right here!" Miyu said.
As the golden light slowly enveloped her, her small presence became entirely visible to the men and women on the battlefield. The girl struck her chest firmly, demonstrating the heart of a heroine and maintaining her determination in the face of the Grimms who were beginning to take notice of her.
For the sake of humanity and the future of Remnant, this banner would once again wave in the time of greatest need for those who could not fend for themselves.
Miyu felt her heartbeat syncing with Joan's, allowing the flow of magic within both to resonate to the rhythm of the emotions of the crowd that focused on her.
"I, Miyu Emiya, will never abandon you in your time of greatest need. Bear witness to the Lord's graces," she proclaimed.
Humans had always prayed for a miracle in their moments of greatest despair. The just and noble would witness what was once known as magic in its purest form, the ultimate expression of their Creator's love.
Miyu followed her heart's calling, and the banner, bathed in a glow of sacred light, delighted those present. It unfurled, with the fleur-de-lis emblem shining brilliantly amidst its white colors. The snowstorm halted as the banner rose towards the sky, weaving lines of power in the air that transformed the thick, dark clouds into ethereal white shades. Sunrays illuminated every corner of the battlefield.
Give thanks to the God of heavens, for His mercy endures forever.
Sharpening her senses, Miyu perceived that her world had changed. She felt enveloped by divine calm and determination. Every detail of the battlefield, every movement of the Grimms and the Atlas soldiers, was etched into her mind with astonishing precision. As if she had gained unknown wisdom and knowledge, she understood the strategy required to confront the dark creatures.
For His great love with which He loved us, even though humanity has sinned against Him, the Lord always offers His forgiveness, for we have His grace in the form of strength, courage, and valor.
"Oh, spirit of the Maid of Orleans, guide your faithful in their hour of need. Your moment has come. Arise, Luminosité Eternelle!" she exclaimed.
Power flowed through her veins like a divine river. Joan's energies surrounded her and merged with her. She felt a deep connection with the Servant, as if she were touching a part of her own soul that she had never known before. Fleeting visions of past battles, of bravery and sacrifice, crossed her mind, leaving an indelible impression on her heart.
God spoke to me when I was a simple peasant ignorant of the world, but I rose with His blessing, with a mission in mind. ¡In the end, I was never afraid...
"For God is here with me!"
Whispers of the wind seemed to carry forgotten words of heroes and martyrs, as the emotions of Joan intertwined with Miyu's. It was a moment of transcendence, an instant in which two souls merged in a shared purpose. Recreating each movement with grace and strength, as if guided by Joan's very hand, the banner combined with the rays falling from the sky, forming a celestial radiance that completely illuminated the battlefield, and the dark creatures retreated before the light.
To provide salvation and the gift of life, you must pay attention to words that convey a message of hope and redemption, reminding us of God's unconditional love for each of us.
The miracle sustained by Miyu created a dome of light. The power of the banner burned intensely, granting comfort, strength, and hope to all present. The girl understood that it was her duty to maintain order and justice on the battlefield. Each life she protected, each decision she made, carried immense weight.
Like her predecessor, Joan of Arc, she had become a beacon of hope. Her presence inspired the Atlas soldiers to fight with renewed determination. Her actions not only changed the course of the battle but also left an indelible impression on the minds of all present.
Wherever the Maiden's banner unfurled, the Saint walked among them, continuously shielding them and guiding them on the path to the promised victory.
Miyu realized the weight and meaning of the words Joan of Arc had spoken as a destiny she couldn't help but remember. She and her brother had been chosen to carry out a divine mission, but their actions showed their humility and devotion. Each of their actions that day, every word of encouragement they offered to their comrades, would become a testament to their commitment to justice and the protection of the innocent in their new life in Remnant.
The lines of power quickly spread across the battlefield, surrounding the soldiers. The effects of what could only be described as a miracle became evident before everyone's eyes. The wounded looked on in surprise and amazement as everyone within the banner's light range began to heal gradually, renewing their strength and determination.
"My wounds are healing. I feel new energy within me," they exclaimed in surprise, on the verge of tears, as they looked at the girl holding the banner with newfound light.
"Everyone, return to your positions! ¡Prepare to continue the battle! ¡Show them what we're made of in the Atlas military!" General Ironwood ordered with authority.
His command received a great many positive responses, and the soldiers regrouped, creating a security perimeter around the girl. The emotions were hard to describe, but General Ironwood couldn't help but think, "I've never seen anything like this!" with an expression reflecting astonishment and longing. He decided to shake his head and sigh; he could seek answers later. With his most severe wounds rapidly healing, he approached the girl holding the banner.
"I've heard that the duty of hunters and huntresses is to lay down their lives for those who can't, but we, the forces of Atlas, never leave any of our men behind. You've shown us that hope lies in the miracle we witnessed today," he expressed.
Just like in the story of the Hundred Years' War, all it took to turn a desperate defeat into a resounding victory was faith, something every human heart possessed.
The battlefield lit up once again. The tables had turned in an instant. The elder of the two youths burst into a frenzy of action, the sound of steel clashing against flesh and sparks flying in the darkness. He displayed impressive skill both with the bow and dual swords, adapting to every situation with unparalleled mastery.
Encouraging the Atlas militants to advance with renewed confidence, inspired by the presence of both unknown youths. The Grimms retreated, unable to withstand the power of the light surrounding them, being eliminated by arrows and swords. The strength of Atlas determined the end of the battle.
This was just a new chapter in a new story that would change the fate of Remnant in ways no one could imagine.
Finally, as the last Grimm fell defeated, Shirou calmly retrieved his bow and dual swords. The night once again fell into silence, only broken by the gentle breeze whispering through the frozen, leafy trees, with the snowstorm that had ended simultaneously. With a determined look in his eyes, Shirou changed his path, heading towards his little sister, who had the same hopeful expression, on the verge of tears, sharing a weary smile that appeared on her lips.
The deafening roar of the beast hordes seemed to continue echoing in Shirou and Miyu's ears as they caught their breath, but the reality was different: all the chaos had ended with the death of the last specimen. Now, both siblings showed obvious signs of physical exhaustion, their clothes soaked in sweat due to the constant effort of keeping the strange and unknown creatures at bay.
"Miyu, we've survived."
"Yes, Shirou, we've saved everyone."
Shirou's gaze reflected pride and satisfaction in Miyu's accomplishments. Despite the physical exhaustion, he seemed to be in good shape. She had demonstrated her bravery and determination in battle, and Shirou was proud of her. Their bond as siblings had grown even stronger with the new abilities they had inherited, thanks to the Class Cards.
It was something impossible to forget.
He could feel every move being a deadly dance, the use of his personal magic exponentially multiplying and being reinforced. But his final effort had been worth it, using everything he had to launch that last desperate attack. They had managed to survive together for another chance at destiny. But they would have time to talk to Miyu and focus on the details later. For now, his top priority was to approach his little sister, who apparently showed no physical wounds, but he noticed that their physical conditions were quite similar. From a distance, he could see in her eyes how Miyu felt equally relieved about their safety and well-being.
Both siblings had fought to the end, relying on their sibling bond, which had been the key to discovering their new magical abilities during their most desperate moment in an attempt to survive.
However, as they caught their breath, something strange began to happen. Both of them started to notice a kind of murmuring that slowly seeped into their minds. A sort of black miasma seemed to emerge in their heads, as if they had opened a door to a world of lamentations and shadows. They were voices, but they didn't sound remotely human. Among sibilant, ominous whispers, laden with primordial hatred and malice.
Shirou frowned; his thoughts intertwined with Miyu's as they shared the same concern.
"What the hell is happening? Why are we hearing these voices now?" He couldn't understand them, but their nature was far from human... Were they the lingering echoes of some kind of curse?
Miyu squeezed his arm, seeking answers in Shirou's gaze. The sensation in their bodies was strange, as if the magic flowing through them was deliberately teetering on the brink of collapse and losing control. Both knew some medical and magical terms, but this situation was beyond their understanding. They knew something was wrong, but they couldn't identify the source of their discomfort.
Shirou's body trembled slightly, and a twinge of pain shot through him. He tried to hide his discomfort as he stood strong for Miyu. His mind raced to find an explanation for what they were experiencing. The voices in his head, fragments of unknown and sinister words, seemed to be related to their growing unease.
With sweat soaking her forehead and her heart pounding, Miyu felt as if a dark current ran through her body. She knew something was happening, something beyond her comprehension. Her gaze met Shirou's, and both shared a moment of silent understanding, holding onto each other in their bond. They couldn't let panic overwhelm them now!
The medical and magical terms they had learned during their training echoed in their minds: "magical destabilization" and "side effects." The words became a distant echo as they struggled to maintain control over their magic.
Despite the uncertainty that surrounded them, their connection remained strong. They were two brave souls who had gone through countless trials together. They exchanged a determined look as they redoubled their efforts to stay strong.
The unknown soldiers who had come to their aid after the battle didn't seem to have noticed anything out of the ordinary, further deepening the mystery. Both siblings shared one last glance before struggling to their feet. They knew they needed to find answers, unravel the enigma of those voices and the unsettling sensation in their bodies before it was too late.
As they tried to stand, the voices continued to whisper in their minds, like ghosts lurking in the shadows.
Shirou tried to prevent himself from collapsing to the ground, but the effort was in vain. With his exhausted body combined with internal pressure, he reached his human limit. With irregular breath and blurred vision, darkness ultimately enveloped him as his consciousness faded. But amidst the haze in his mind, his smile persisted, a testament to his commitment to his new mission in this unfamiliar world.
Officer Ironwood was slightly weakened but conscious, observing the astonishing spectacle with disbelief and bewilderment. The battle had been intense, and as his eyes scanned the ranks of his men, he could see a wide range of emotions on their faces, from the initial shock to amazement, reverence, and honor. But above all, he noticed something extraordinary in the faces of his closest subordinates, who rarely showed their emotions so obviously. Subordination, obedience, courage, audacity, loyalty, selflessness, and self-sacrifice that normally characterized his men had been overshadowed by the disbelief and amazement they felt at what they had just witnessed.
Due to minor logistical issues, they had inexplicably lost contact with their superiors. This had led them to be surrounded in an intricate ambush that resulted in significant casualties. The situation had been desperate, and even someone of Ironwood's caliber had been on the verge of losing half his body due to the severe injuries he had sustained.
However, in an unexpected turn of events, the appearance of two unknown youngsters had changed the situation in an instant. At first, the scene seemed almost comical and, at the same time, macabre: two seemingly inexperienced children had joined the desperate fight against the Grimm hordes, using nothing more than sticks and stones. Despite their rudimentary methods, they had offered hope and a much-needed respite amidst the massacre and desperation.
Being in that desolate wasteland in the midst of the deep frozen forest, it was hard to fathom how, among so many possibilities, two seemingly unusual children could be found alive so far from the nearest point of civilization. The outcomes were, in any case, remote, leading Officer Ironwood to question their identities and the reason for their presence in the midst of the battle.
But the youngsters didn't stop for a moment. The red-haired boy had shown his bravery by facing the Grimms, rendering several of them unconscious with precise blows. The black-haired girl had displayed her skills by throwing stones and other projectiles into the air in search of prey. But both used a mysterious power that radiated a mystical sensation that made their thoughts go wild every time he tried to deny its origin.
Magic! There was no other logical explanation!
But their rudimentary use of it was, at best, efficient, simple, direct. As an officer, he could take pride in his strategy. Both had showcased their abilities. From his position, he was systematically assisting the troops, but it wasn't enough. In the midst of profound despair and breath, he could still recall the miracle produced by a pair of children.
It was the sense of wonder he had experienced when he learned the world's secret and the existence of the Winter Maiden. That moment was again remembered with the transformation of both kids. Their appearances, once full of wounds and ordinary, were completely opposite, now wearing armor and weapons, they had been able to turn the tide on the battlefield.
Until moments ago, they had been fighting desperately, and suddenly, two unknown youngsters had used a power that could only exist in fairy tales to save them in their direst moment of need.
But, amid his reflections, Ironwood noticed how the siblings seemed to communicate with each other through exchanged glances, and suddenly, a mysterious glow enveloped them before fading away just as intensely. They both collapsed to the ground, visibly injured and bleeding profusely.
Quickly, Ironwood approached them. The injuries were severe, but what left him perplexed was the complete absence of aura during their healing process. It wasn't that the wounds weren't healing, but there simply was no aura present! This was unheard of, as hunters relied on their protective auras to quickly heal any damage inflicted in combat. However, in this case, the injuries seemed to worsen over time, showing no signs of improvement. Deep and bloody cuts marked their bodies completely, and concern flooded the officer's mind as he shouted orders to his personnel.
"Quickly, I need all available medics here, now!"
With the officer's urgent yet firm voice, the present medics rushed to evaluate the siblings. Due to proximity, they were faster in attending to the nearest child, the young girl who was clearly weakened. She lay unconscious on the ground, her pale skin and bruised lips indicating a critical condition. Next to the girl, Ironwood looked in astonishment as the older of the children was in a catatonic state. Simultaneously, both children exhibited faces filled with pain and suffering.
The injuries were grave; signs of hypovolemic shock and internal bleeding were visible in both children. The tension in the air was palpable as the medics worked swiftly and efficiently to stabilize the siblings. The rest of Officer Ironwood's soldiers moved with determination, establishing a defensive perimeter around the fallen youths.
Ironwood assessed his current situation, his mind filled with unanswered questions. Desperately grabbing his scroll, he swiftly moved his fingers in an attempt to request reinforcements, grateful that the snowy blizzard had ceased. He managed to link and restore communications amid his bewilderment. However, he was met with denials from the high command who couldn't grasp the magnitude of what had occurred. But he persisted, knowing that what he had witnessed was of the utmost importance. With Ironwood's raspy voice echoing through the communication device, he managed to efficiently convey the urgent current situation.
While the medical staff took measures to control the bleeding, Ironwood felt overwhelmed by the urgency of the situation. Despite the severe injuries to the children, the Officer held hope that both would survive when attended to within the top-notch Atlas facilities. The unknown youths had proven themselves to be brave and resilient fighters and deserved a chance to recover. The officer was determined to protect these youths who had risked their lives for his men.
Gently holding Miyu's hand, Ironwood tried to convey some calm amidst the chaos. He looked around and saw his soldiers responding to his orders with professionalism and efficiency.
"This... this cannot go unanswered."
With his mind filled with questions and dilemmas, he wondered whether he should inform Ozpin about this astonishing encounter. What was the origin of these children? What did their presence mean for the balance of everything he knew?
As he awaited assistance and reinforcements from his superiors, his gaze settled on the children who had appeared out of nowhere, fought alongside him, and produced what was undeniably a miracle. The destinies of these two young ones and his own had become intertwined in a way none of them could have anticipated, defying all logic and understanding.
The world of Remnant was on the brink of witnessing an unexpected twist in its history, triggered by the arrival of two lost souls who brought with them a power and a story that transcended the boundaries of their reality.
In the midst of the frozen tundra, amidst light and shadow, a new chapter in their lives had begun. Hope had been reborn, and destiny was in motion, guided by divine intervention and the brave hearts of those who had been drawn into a world they didn't comprehend.
