Miyu woke up in a landscape that felt completely unfamiliar. As she slowly opened her eyes, she was awed by the exquisite beauty of the sky. It was so beautiful, a massive radiant sun that was gradually giving way on the horizon to a moon accompanied by beautiful stars. These stars formed unknown constellations she had never seen before. Now she remembered everything clearly. That nighttime celestial body had been the first hint that she wasn't in her world. It was what marked the beginning of her journey in this new place, as her new friend Alyx had explained to her.
Miyu was now the "girl who fell to the world" of Remnant. Despite how ironic it might sound, Alyx had been surprisingly kind in explaining some of her doubts about this new world. She had even bestowed such a kind blessing upon her. Despite the laughter and games, sharing her passion for flowers, and playing in the areas near the Great Tree, Miyu still missed her deeply. "How can someone leave without even saying goodbye?" Miyu shouted as she struggled to organize her thoughts.
"That hurts, my friend!" Alyx's sudden voice startled Miyu.
"That's what I'd like to say," Miyu responded with a voice on the verge of tears as she slowly clenched her fists to wipe her eyes. "I thought you were gone forever."
"Come on, change that expression. You're making the same face Lewis did," Alyx said kindly as she approached Miyu and hugged her. "You promised me that you'd take a step forward to find your brother."
"But... but... what about you?"
"Ah," Alyx sighed with a slight regret. "You must know that there are things that can't be changed. My book was ruined so long ago, and there's no way for me to go back. But I still have a role to play here."
"But there's still so much I'd like to know," Miyu said with a broken voice. "Your story is so beautiful but so tragic. You deserve another chance. You can come with me!"
Alyx simply shook her head before taking a leaf from the Great Tree that she had kept in her dress. "You must know that the Tree of Ephemeral Dreams has given us a unique opportunity. I'm so grateful to you, Miyu Emiya. You've given me a chance to make amends."
She reached her arm toward the sky in a majestic gesture. Slowly, the landscape changed in a burst of lights, and both girls found themselves in the sky. Their gaze was directed toward a forest. Miyu noticed how the landscape underwent a noticeable seasonal transition. Nature wove a tapestry of constant change, with seasons flowing toward them in a magical way. The vibrant colors of the changing leaves, the breeze bringing fresh scents, and the feeling that nature itself was reinventing, all of this immersed Miyu in deep reflection on the beauty of this new world.
In the midst of this dazzling spectacle, Alyx wore a light blue collar shirt with puffy short sleeves. The wind waved her navy blue skirt with golden trim. Alyx gently took Miyu's hand, looking at the impressed expression on the 6-year-old girl's face as they watched this once-in-a-lifetime event, surrounded by violet energy.
"Miyu, can you see it? This is the awakening of your aura in Remnant, which has caused such a beautiful phenomenon as the cycle of seasons you are witnessing now," Alyx said softly.
"It's so beautiful," Miyu replied, unable to help but observe with great curiosity this unique event in her life, surrounded by violet energy.
"You're right," Alyx added, slowly removing her dark blue headband, which had two small knots resembling rabbit ears. She also took off a small golden rabbit pin from her belt with colors of navy blue, red, cyan, gold, and magenta and placed it on the Great Tree's leaf. "But I'd also like to offer you these gifts."
Miyu took a moment to tear her gaze away from the forest, not understanding Alyx's words, feeling surprised. "I can't accept them, Alyx, especially the only memory you have of your brother!"
The mischievous smile Alyx directed at the older girl allowed Miyu to calm down. "You're wrong; we both have older brothers, so you can understand me when I say I'd like to apologize to the only person whom, after all this time, I can't even be able to see face to face, let alone after how I behaved," Alyx said kindly, as she touched her dress and let a tear fall down her cheek.
"But you can still come with me!" exclaimed Miyu, taking Alyx by the arms and looking at her with tears in her eyes. "You're someone who, despite your actions, always used your intelligence and cunning as weapons to survive through the terrible experiences in Ever After. But in the end, you changed, fixed all the problems you caused. That's why you can come back with me and apologize to Lewis, just as I would to Shirou!"
Alyx shook her head, feeling the sincerity of Miyu's words. She could only smile with regret. "I'd like to see him again and apologize, but you must know that it's highly likely that Lewis isn't alive in the current era of Remnant. The possibility is very remote," Alyx said while stroking Miyu's hair.
"But... but..."
The elder gently put a finger on Miyu's lips. "You must know that our connection was something completely unique. You noticed the withered jasmine flower sticking out of my deteriorated book," Alyx said, gently taking Miyu's hair and adjusting her headband. "I don't know what you were thinking when you chose my book from all the books in the library, but you must know that jasmine is a flower that symbolizes grace, sweetness, and hope."
"The possibility isn't zero," Miyu strongly denied, holding on to Alyx's embrace.
"See, that's what I was talking about," Alyx smiled as she pinned the brooch to Miyu's clothes. "We have such different values. You, Miyu Emiya, have shown me that you have a kind personality and an admirable ability to find beauty even in the face of adversity."
"I don't think I'm what you say I am. In the end, I was the one who made my brother give up on his dreams!" Miyu exclaimed, looking down with disappointment.
Alyx lifted Miyu's chin, allowing their gazes to meet for a moment. "That's why I really admire my brother. Lewis was always good at finding the right words at the right moments. But... The Great Tree never makes a mistake in judging a person. Both brothers, you and Shirou, are special. You, like the jasmine, are capable of lighting up everything around you with your presence. You're the only one capable of bringing a sense of hope and joy to Shirou's life. After all... don't you consider Shirou your hero deep in your heart?"
Alyx's words made Miyu blush uncontrollably, causing the brunette to laugh uncontrollably.
"I'll never know if it was the work of the Great Tree, but my flower was another, so different from yours. Because a narcissus should be the hidden flower between my pages. You must know that the narcissus grows from a bulb buried underground, which reflects my manipulative and cruel behaviors. But it eventually emerges as a beautiful flower, which, as charming and beautiful as it is on the outside, represents how selfish I was."
"But... in the end, you managed to understand the importance of your actions and their impact on others in Ever After," Miyu said, alternating her gaze between the brooch with the leaf attached to it and Alyx. "You were able to change. You can create another ending for your story!"
But Alyx simply shook her head weakly as she began to walk slowly into nothingness. Surprised by the elder's sudden actions, Miyu tried to get up and follow her, but she failed as she slowly felt her body growing weak. A feeling of weakness and drowsiness was gradually engulfing her.
"As I told you before, you are such a kind person, Miyu," Alyx said, stopping and turning around to look at Miyu one last time. "But I think you understand my point. Keep in mind that the final process of assimilating your aura will be strenuous, so you must allow yourself to rest when you wake up. I don't know if I'll have the chance to see you again, but I'll be watching over you from Ever After. I'll keep observing you and cheering you on. Please, just continue with whatever you want. I'll be eager to see how you adapt to this world, how you embrace your new 'semblance,' and what you'll achieve in the future."
Feeling helpless due to the bittersweet farewell, the figure of "the girl who fell to the world" became translucent in colorful points, smiling at Miyu all the while, who couldn't stop crying and trying to get up, feeling the darkness and light envelop her before also disappearing.
Miyu slowly opened her eyes, overwhelmed by a sense of confusion. Her eyes stung, and traces of dried tears were still present. It felt as if everything she had experienced so far had been a distant dream.
"Alyx... why?" she couldn't help but question her abrupt departure. But a cloud of memories flooded her mind, among them, the figure of her new friend, the brave girl she had encountered in Ever After. It was an impossible but magical encounter, and both had gone through moments so fleeting yet unforgettable. She had learned the untold story of "the girl who fell through the world," a truth that portrayed Alyx's tireless struggle, even though insurmountable obstacles lay in her path, her story ended in tragedy. Despite her book being on the verge of breaking, that jasmine in her book had initiated everything; it was just the tip of the iceberg they shared. Now, it all seemed to have been part of a mysterious and beautiful dream that was slowly fading away.
As she looked around, she realized she was in a medical room that felt unfamiliar. As her eyes adjusted to the light, she noticed the faint sunlight filtering through the window, revealing an external landscape painted with the warm and golden tones characteristic of autumn. It was a sight that momentarily left her baffled, as it indicated that some time had passed since her last conscious perception. This revelation further deepened her confusion.
While lying in the bed, her mood improved slightly. Slowly, she realized that her body was undergoing noticeable changes. Her senses sharpened, and a feeling of vitality ran through her. Miyu felt a presence within herself that she hadn't experienced before: her aura, now purple and vibrant, had fully awakened. It was a power that manifested uniquely in this world of Remnant, and it reminded her of her dear friend Alyx.
For a moment, her mood sank as she remembered her, but she shook her head, noticing the rabbit-shaped pin glowing with the rays of the setting sun in her hands. She couldn't help but half-smile as she remembered how Alyx would encourage her and support her from Ever After. Touched, she felt curious to understand this new dimension of her being. She began to explore her own body, feeling the power flowing through her veins, merging with her in a harmonious way. She closed her eyes for a moment, immersing herself in this sensation, letting this new energy, strangely familiar, flow through her like a comforting stream.
The duration of this phenomenon was short but long enough for Miyu to feel a new connection to her friend. After her initial impressions, she slowly explored the medical room around her. Her actions, however, came to an abrupt halt when she saw her brother Shirou still sleeping in the adjacent bed. The joy of seeing him again after so long in the darkness was overwhelming, and she couldn't help the tears that welled up in her eyes. Miyu's tears, colored with gratitude and happiness, fell silently, not realizing the impact they would have.
As Miyu's tears touched her brother's skin, something incredible began to happen. Shirou's pale complexion, previously marked by illness, began to take on a healthier, more natural tone. But the most astonishing of all was the sudden appearance of a golden glow all over his body, which began to intensify, as if the mysterious purple energy surrounding Miyu was positively affecting her brother.
Broken words came from her excited lips. "Shirou... You're here! I need to tell you about my new and wonderful friend, Alyx. She... she was amazing," her words echoed her gratitude into the distance, thankful that her friend had given her such a beautiful gift, even though she didn't fully understand the power she possessed at that moment.
As she gazed at Shirou, her thoughts remained on their meeting in Ever After. "I hope you wake up soon, Shirou," she said aloud, "So I can tell you about my new and wonderful friend, Alyx."
However, her thought was abruptly interrupted when the door to the room was violently thrown open. A nurse entering stumbled and dropped all the medical equipment and supplies she held in her hands. In an emotionally charged and abrupt manner, the nurse shouted to the doctors and nurses in the hallway, announcing that one of the young patients had awakened.
Miyu, surprised by this sudden commotion, found herself not knowing how to react. Her instincts led her to assume a firm and determined posture, not realizing that her return to reality had shaken all the medical staff in the room.
Miyu stood on the balcony of the medical pavilion, watching as the night fell over Atlas. The landscape appeared beautiful to her, yet at the same time, unfamiliar in a way that was hard to express. The fragmented image of the moon rising above her head made her reflect on the situation that, although surreal, she was learning to accept: she and her brother had arrived in the world of Remnant, a place entirely foreign and mysterious to both.
Lost in her thoughts, she noticed how the night was cool, accompanied by a gentle breeze before being interrupted by the man next to her. He offered her a cup of hot milk, and as she accepted the drink, she thanked him with a soft murmur. Her small hands cradled the cup, feeling the comforting warmth it emitted. Both enjoyed the comforting moment of silence, each lost in their own thoughts, while the outside world continued on its course.
Looking at the night sky again, Miyu decided to place the cup on a nearby table before getting up from her wheelchair. She had been using the chair at the man's insistence, who had expressed his concerns for her health. Although Miyu had politely declined the suggestion, she couldn't help but notice the worried expression on the man's face. The memory of their encounter that afternoon when they first met made her smile a little. She pushed it out of her mind and instead closed her eyes for a moment while resting her hands on the reinforced glass railing, letting the night breeze caress her face.
A soft sigh escaped Miyu's lips as she closed her eyes for a moment, feeling the nighttime breeze against her face. The atmosphere subtly shifted, becoming more serious. The man next to her followed suit, taking a deep breath before taking an unknown electronic device and capturing a photo of the moon. The vaguely familiar figure introduced himself again and expressed his gratitude for the courage that Miyu and her brother had shown in saving his platoon and ultimately his life three days ago.
The flood of information she had received deeply impacted Miyu. Three entire days lost in a deep sleep, a fact she couldn't easily conceive. But reality was setting in, and as she placed her hand on Alyx's pin, she felt a warm gratitude for having met her new friend in Ever After. Feeling accompanied by Alyx in some way made her feel less alone amid so many mysteries and confusions.
Since she had woken up, she had followed the man's directions, where she had been escorted to the dining room to replenish her energy with a light lunch. She enjoyed dishes that were entirely unfamiliar to her and even dared to taste a delicious dessert she would never have imagined finding in her old world. Although her actions might have seemed a bit clumsy and unusual, the man accompanying her couldn't help but let out a laugh. However, he did so in a friendly and gentlemanly manner, reminding her a bit of her brother Shirou, who used to take care of her in the same way. He even took a napkin to wipe the crumbs from her cheeks, an action that made her smile, as it reminded her of her dear brother. Concern for Shirou still lingered as he was still being monitored by the medical staff.
The gentlemanly man, on the other hand, offered words of comfort and reassured her, ensuring her that her brother was in the best medical care that the Kingdom of Atlas could offer. Through calls using technology unknown to her, he showed her that they were in a completely new world, "Remnant," a world with a geography and history that eclipsed everything she had known on Earth.
After their meal, the man suggested a tour of the medical facilities to help Miyu become familiar with the place and feel more comfortable. The young girl accepted with gratitude, and together they explored the medical wings near her room. The medical and nursing staff were respectful and cordial, although they seemed to hold a special respect for the man. However, their treatment of Miyu was even kinder, and she felt welcomed in that unfamiliar environment.
Finally, their tour led them to one of the highest balconies of the medical pavilion. There, the conversation between them began to flow slowly but meaningfully. Miyu listened attentively, trying to absorb all the information that Officer Ironwood shared. Her life had changed radically since waking up in this world, and every word he spoke only added more mystery and complexity to her new reality.
Miyu found herself at a crossroads, with significant decisions ahead of her. After long and thoughtful consideration, she had shared with Officer James Ironwood the challenging situation she and her brother Shirou had gone through.
She detailed her origin on a planet known as Earth, painting a picture of the peaceful life at the Emiya estate, where she shared moments of happiness and serenity with her brother. She explained Shirou's dreams and aspirations of becoming a hero of justice but also spoke of the pain she felt, believing herself to be the cause of her brother's abandonment of his ideals to save her.
She continued to narrate how her world crumbled when they faced the primordial curse contained in Pandora's box, describing their fierce battle against the Ainsworths, the final confrontation, and the vision of their world's destruction. She added that they barely retained memories of how they were rescued, which only deepened the mystery.
She went on with her story, explaining their unexpected arrival in the frozen forest of Atlas and the struggle they faced in adapting to this new environment, confronting the terrifying creatures known as Grimm.
Miyu didn't omit mentioning both siblings' brave decision to fight the Grimm hordes alongside the soldiers, pushing their conviction to the limit, accepting that it might have been their last day.
She also briefly mentioned the Class Cards but didn't delve into the subject, as she had decided, following her intuition, to keep the details related to them secret. She explained that she couldn't reveal more without her brother's company to corroborate all the facts.
At the end of her story, she revealed that it was a fortuitous event, which could be considered a "miracle," that had happened amid an icy landscape, the reason both siblings had been saved. But it wasn't until now, upon waking up, that she realized she was in the kingdom of Atlas, a place of which she had little knowledge. She was lost without her brother's company and now faced crucial decisions that would determine her future in this new world.
It took time, but the kind actions, uninterrupted silence, and the ability to notice the various human expressions in the man by her side allowed Miyu to pour her heart out. Her emotions overflowed in a flood of tears and sobs. This act of openness and vulnerability left Miyu feeling emotionally exposed, but she knew it was necessary to fully understand her situation and her future in Remnant.
"It can be a lot to take in," James said, clearly overwhelmed, but the blue glow in his body allowed him to relax a bit. He extended a hand and offered a second cup of hot chocolate to the young girl. "But you've shown a mature and confident personality despite your young age."
"You're completely wrong about me! You don't know me well enough!"
The emotion in Miyu's voice was palpable, but Ironwood's smile didn't fade.
"You're right, I'm an officer, and I often have my team's lives in my hands during operations," James said. He surprised Miyu by gently placing a hand on her hair while looking into her eyes. "But despite the great dangers you and your brother have faced, I can see that, at your core, you're a sweet person and you've held onto hope to keep going until today."
It was a brief moment, but the Officer's blue glow slightly faded, although his sincere expression remained on his face. James's heartfelt words managed to calm, at least for a moment, Miyu's tears, which had been constant for a while. This moment of understanding and support meant a lot to her and made her feel less alone in this unknown world.
After fully expressing her emotions, Miyu accepted the handkerchief offered by Officer Ironwood and dried her tears while he prepared another round of drinks and a small dessert, displaying comforting chivalry.
Miyu felt tired but understood there was still much to discuss. She took a moment to regain her composure and then focused on the central matter of the conversation: Atlas's "Project Aurora."
She took a deep breath before speaking, and her brown eyes, with a reddish gleam, reflected great determination. "Officer Ironwood, you mentioned the 'Project Aurora.' Could you explain more about it? I want to understand what it entails and how you plan to help my brother Shirou and me."
James nodded, taking a moment to organize his thoughts, acknowledging the importance of Miyu's question. "The 'Project Aurora' is a special initiative we've created in response to your unexpected appearance. To begin, both siblings have demonstrated unique abilities that were thought only possible in fairy tales. That's why the Council has fully endorsed this project and believes in the humanity you showed that day. Your actions were brave enough to sway the hearts of several members who wish to help by offering the opportunity for a fresh start. Our goal is to provide shelter, resources, and comprehensive support for your adaptation to Remnant. You will start with guidance and training to better understand this world and the role you might play in the future."
"But we still can't use our magic properly, and our ability with our aura is something we haven't fully grasped yet," Miyu said with a choked voice and a murmur, pointing out an aspect they had overlooked.
Ironwood responded gently to Miyu's concerns and continued explaining in detail: "Regarding your magical abilities, we are committed to helping you safely and efficiently recover them. We have our own experts in the field of 'magic' in Atlas who will be more than willing to work with you. We will conduct assessments to understand the extent of your current abilities and design a specific training plan to help you regain your full potential."
Miyu nodded as she absorbed the information. The "Project Aurora" sounded like a unique opportunity for her and Shirou. The kingdom of Atlas was willing to provide them support in their adaptation and help them regain the optimal use of their lost magical powers. It was a glimmer of hope in the midst of the uncertainty of their new life in Remnant.
"I deeply appreciate that you are willing to help us in this way," Miyu replied with gratitude. "It's a tempting offer, and I'm sure Shirou will think the same. We'll give a final answer once he wakes up. But, honestly, we're grateful for the assistance you're offering."
Ironwood smiled with understanding and nodded. "I completely understand, Miss Miyu. There's no rush in making a final decision. We will be here to support you with whatever you need, whether you choose to join the 'Project Aurora' or take another path. The most important thing to remember is that I can offer genuine support." James couldn't help but place his hand on Miyu's head again, gently ruffling her hair. "So you can fulfill your dream, I trust that Atlas can be the opportunity you're looking for, where both siblings can find a place to call home in this world."
Miyu and Ironwood continued their conversation, discussing additional details about the project and the possibilities opening up before them. The prospect of a future in Remnant was beginning to take shape, and the challenges they would face seemed more manageable with the support of Atlas and Project Aurora.
Remnant, Grimms, Atlas, the Council, the Project Aurora... all of these concepts were entirely foreign to her previous world, but the concept and depth of the word "magic" was something she could never forget. Her mind navigated through a sea of doubts and curiosity about how to approach everything she was learning. Alyx's presence in her heart and the promise to move forward gave her the strength to face the unknown. She was willing to understand and adapt to this extraordinary world full of surprises in which she now found herself.
As their conversation progressed, Officer Ironwood's personality unfolded before her with greater clarity. Despite his youthful appearance, it was clear that James Ironwood had a deep military service history and an exceptional dedication to his duty. The determination and commitment that radiated from him were palpable, and Miyu couldn't help but recognize that she was in the presence of someone who took his responsibilities with the utmost seriousness and professionalism.
With each word he shared, Miyu noticed parallels between Ironwood and her own brother, Shirou. Both shared a deep commitment to protection and service, and that similarity brought a smile to her face. Perhaps in this new world, they could find the place they longed for, a home where she and her brother could feel safe and accepted, a "true home." Furthermore, the idea of reviving Shirou's dream, allowing more people to meet the hero who rested deep in his heart, filled her with determination. Who knows, they might find allies and people who shared their desire to make a difference in this unfamiliar world.
The spirit of Jeanne d'Arc and her promise with Alyx remained alive within Miyu, and she was determined to fulfill that promise no matter the challenges that arose in her path. As the conversation advanced, the young woman felt increasingly comfortable in the company of Officer Ironwood. The expression of confusion and insecurity she had shown at the beginning faded away, giving way to genuine interest and a spark of curiosity to discover more about this new world and its possibilities.
A new day opened before her, with the sunlight flooding the medical room where she was. Upon waking up, Miyu surveyed her surroundings, noting that everything was carefully equipped and organized. She remained in bed for a couple of minutes, submerged in a sea of thoughts and questions that filled her mind. Everything around her was unfamiliar and novel, but she remembered she wasn't alone; her brother Shirou was in this world with her, sharing the same uncertainties.
Amid her thoughts, she didn't notice the presence of a young nurse accompanied by two young women. The two women observed her with a kind curiosity.
"We apologize for arriving so suddenly, Miss Miyu," said the young woman with purple hair and violet eyes, who held a small camera in her hands. "I hope you don't mind me calling you that."
Miyu slowly shook her head before the woman continued.
"I'm Isolde Ravenshadow, and I hold the position of media leader in the Council," Isolde said gracefully while taking a surprise picture of her. "I'm sorry for the little slip-up, but you're so adorable I couldn't resist. It would be a crime not to!" Isolde's fun and outgoing expression made a strong impression on Miyu, helping her form an initial impression of her personality.
The other lady also introduced herself, albeit with a more formal and rigid posture.
"I am General Elara Ironsides of the Atlas Army. I warmly welcome you to the Kingdom of Atlas," announced Elara with her white hair and red eyes. Both ladies shared certain physical similarities, which caused Miyu to experience a sense of déjà vu that she decided to put aside as she noticed the way they looked at each other before nodding.
"It may sound a bit abrupt, but we'd like to request your presence, Miss Miyu. We would appreciate it if you would accompany us for the day," said the self-proclaimed General, offering a small smile before retrieving her equipment from her jacket and making some quick adjustments.
Isolde, the media leader, interjected with a touch of irony. "I apologize on behalf of General Elara; she tends to be quite rigid." Isolde's voice seemed full of fun, causing the General to give a small cough to relieve the tension.
Miyu, a little bewildered by the interaction between both ladies, responded with some reservations. "If it's fine with you for me to accompany you, I have no objections. However, I would like to be informed about the current status of my brother."
Both leaders smiled pleased with her positive response and adeptly used their communication devices to request Shirou's medical reports, which showed no changes and confirmed his excellent health. The information reassured Miyu.
Before she could get out of bed, the nurse, along with the leaders, surprised her by offering some lightweight bags.
"What's this?" Miyu asked.
"It's a little gift from us!" exclaimed Isolde with a smile as she placed a hand on her companion's shoulder. "We'd like you to get more comfortable before joining us. You might not believe it, but I have a good sense of fashion."
"I can't deny that," sighed the General with amusement. "Isolde has a special affinity for fashion. I wish she would focus more on her responsibilities with the same intensity."
"Don't say that!" Isolde vigorously denied it and playfully tapped the General's shoulder. "Don't you dare undermine me! I've been a leader for at least 5 years, and the results of my work have always been evident."
"Sure, sure, sure! Do you forget when you published about the likely existence of a creature other than Grimm a couple of years ago?" The General sighed in regret. "It was very complicated to calm the public for months. We had to present a lot of evidence and carry out multiple missions to demonstrate and rectify public opinion."
"It was just a small hiccup in my career," Isolde defended herself. "We had all that evidence in Arrowfell, and numerous verifiable testimonies were obtained."
"That was a confidential and properly archived matter," the General denied again. "We must focus on our current new priorities."
While the leaders continued chatting, Miyu looked at the purple and gold dress, which made her very happy as she examined it. Following the nurse's directions, she went to the bathroom, took a bath, and dressed in the new outfit. She added Alyx's gifts, proudly wearing the tiara and the brooch. Afterward, she stepped out of the bathroom to realize that the sudden conversation between the leaders had abruptly stopped.
"See! What did I tell you? I'm never wrong!" Isolde said sweetly.
"I must admit you have a special touch," the General accepted with equal satisfaction.
Miyu was delighted with their comments, and even the nurse expressed her enthusiasm. However, her stomach made its presence known with a hungry rumble.
"We should hurry to have breakfast before little Miyu here devours us," the Media leader joked with a smile.
"Confirmed," Elara said with a smile before looking at Miyu and gesturing apologetically as she lowered her gaze. "You don't have to feel that way; it's completely normal," she tried to ease the situation by expressing her opinion and encouraging Miyu to follow them.
Despite her embarrassment, Miyu followed both women to the medical wing's dining area. As she walked, she wondered how this day would unfold in the world of Remnant, within the Kingdom of Atlas, which, according to Officer Ironwood's words, was exceptional. A place dedicated to progress and security, with a unique history and a militaristic focus. She couldn't help but feel grateful for the officer's words of encouragement the previous night, but she also faced a new reality that she was slowly beginning to accept.
The visit to Atlas's military training areas continued for hours. Leaders Isolde and Elara shared their knowledge about different aspects of military training, from handling high-tech weaponry to advanced combat tactics. Miyu observed how the soldiers worked as a team with incredible precision, demonstrating a level of discipline and coordination that left her in awe.
Miyu was particularly intrigued by the technology used in training. Virtual simulations and advanced armor exemplified Atlas's focus on innovation and technological forefront. She asked the leaders about how technology intertwined with military preparedness, and received detailed answers that helped her better understand the importance of this symbiosis.
"You should know that technology is a well-known extension throughout all of Remnant, which is why Atlas has a highly regarded capacity as a technological and scientific center," explained General Elara as they watched a combat simulation in a virtual environment. "It's due to our geographical limitations that we had to adapt. This kind of mindset was what allowed us to be better prepared and respond more effectively to any threats that arise. In a world where Grimm and other creatures lurk, technology became Atlas's best response, and innovation always an invaluable ally."
The media leader, Isolde, nodded and added, "Its applications have not only been in the public safety military field but in other fields that have contributed to the advancement of our society in general. It was a gradual and slow development, but Atlas has earned, through efforts and sacrifices, the reputation of being a beacon of progress and knowledge well-known throughout Remnant. That's why we are committed to sharing our innovations for the greater good of all."
Miyu listened attentively as she watched the military exercises. Despite her peaceful nature, she was beginning to understand the need for preparation and discipline in a world where she did not yet know all the dangers that lurked around every corner. Although her primary thoughts were still with her brother Shirou, she couldn't forget her other missions and promises with people she also cared about. Slowly, she was beginning to grasp that this new world had its own rules and threats that required her full attention.
Finally, after hours of exploration, the guided tour concluded at a high point of the military facility, where they could observe a panoramic view of the city of Atlas. The midday sun in a slightly clear sky illuminated the city with golden hues, creating a breathtaking scene.
Miyu, with a smile on her face, looked at the city spreading out before her and felt grateful for the opportunity to have witnessed a part of Remnant's world. The guided tour had been a revealing experience. "I'm impressed by everything I've seen and learned today," she commented, her gaze fixed on the city. "I agree with Officer Ironwood's words; Atlas is truly an amazing place, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to have known it."
Both women felt the sincerity behind Miyu's words.
"We are equally happy that you feel this way, little Miyu."
"I agree with Isolde," Elara added with a bright smile, "but this is only the first stop of the day."
Miyu was impressed by the Council members' dedication to their kingdom and people, feeling that she was gaining a deep respect for Atlas and its leaders.
Miyu's next stop on her visit to the Atlas lands took her to explore the bustling civilian area. The architecture and buildings of the metropolis were a marvel to her eyes. Skyscrapers and other structures rose into the sky, blending modern and futuristic design with distinctive touches of military elements that were an evident showcase of Atlas's culture. Every corner of the urban landscape was imbued with the city's identity.
As they walked through the bustling streets, surrounded by shops, restaurants, and a wide variety of people, the leaders shared their knowledge with Miyu. They explained the significance of this area in the daily lives of the residents. The metropolis was not only a unique center for trade and culture in Atlas but also a place for people from different regions and backgrounds among the kingdoms to meet and interact. Every building and street corner told a story of progress and cooperation.
After the intense walk, they decided to stop at a local ice cream parlor. Miyu enjoyed an ice cream while they discussed life in the city and some of the kingdom's traditions. The attention from the young ladies made her feel more integrated into this new world. Laughter and pleasant conversations created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that reinforced Miyu's sense of belonging.
The Communication Tower rose above the surrounding buildings. From the outside, its structure radiated a sense of power, and its importance in the lives of the citizens of Atlas was undeniable. The tower was not just an architectural landmark but a fundamental pillar in Remnant's communication infrastructure. It was the essence of technological innovation and connected Atlas to the rest of the Kingdoms through the Intercontinental Transmission System (ITS).
The communication revolution this tower represented was impressive. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Atlas' scientists and leaders in science and technology, they had achieved an extraordinary breakthrough. The ITS technology allowed for efficient transmission of audio, video, images, and text, revolutionizing how people connected in this world.
Currently, the communication network relied on four primary relay towers, strategically located in the safest areas within the Kingdoms. This ensured that communication between the Kingdoms remained smooth and secure, despite the challenges posed by Grimm and other dangers.
However, the slight limitation of the secondary towers, constantly threatened by Grimm, did not deter technological advancement. Scrolls, relay towers – everything contributed to keeping Remnant connected. This revolutionary form of communication had been crucial for the development of the Kingdoms and continued to be a vital tool for human progress. The poetic words of Leader Isolde resonated in Miyu's heart. In this system, no voice was louder than the others, and none could remain silent without the support of the rest. It was a beautiful example of unity and collaboration that reflected Atlas's values to the rest of Remnant.
As they entered the tower, the atmosphere immediately changed. Natural light from the city was replaced by dimmer interior lighting, accentuating the feeling of being in a special place. The corridors were immaculately clean, and technical and scientific teams moved with purpose, concentrating on their daily tasks.
Every step filled Miyu with wonder. Finally, they reached the central room of the tower, and she was left speechless by the sight of the impressive hologram representing the geography of Remnant. The hologram was a detailed representation of the entire world, vividly displaying regions, cities, and geographical features.
General Elara efficiently and concisely offered some basic explanations about Remnant's history and how the Kingdoms had formed. Leader Isolde enthusiastically shared crucial moments in Remnant's history. Miyu listened with great interest, occasionally asking questions to deepen her understanding.
This day of exploration allowed her to learn more about this world with every passing minute, and each new revelation fueled her desire to explore and understand it even further. As she watched the hologram and listened to the stories of Remnant, she realized there was so much more to discover and learn in this new home. Her curiosity and thirst for knowledge only grew with each experience.
Dinner was a moment of relaxation and reflection for the group of women. They were in an elegant restaurant in the metropolis of Atlas, where the dim lighting created a warm and inviting atmosphere. Seated around a well-laid table, they shared their impressions and thoughts about life in this new world.
Isolde initiated the conversation, looking at Miyu with curiosity and a friendly smile. "Miyu, we'd like to know, what's your impression of Atlas so far? We know a bit about the unique situation you and your brother have been through. But we'll respect your decision to share it all when your brother Shirou finally awakens. For now, we just want to know how you're handling everything up to this point. I know Remnant is a world quite different from what you might be used to."
Miyu pondered for a moment, weighing her words. "It's certainly different from what used to be my home on Earth. The technology here is amazing, and though I'm taken aback, I'm also grateful for the hospitality I've received. The city is beautiful, and people seem very dedicated in a militaristic sense in their way of life, but I can sense their passion for their work and how their society is structured."
The General nodded, adding, "Atlas takes pride in its commitment to safety and protection. Our duty is to ensure that the people here live in a peaceful and prosperous environment."
Miyu nodded, understanding the importance of that mission. "Yes, Officer Ironwood spoke to me about that. His determination is impressive. He also mentioned the Aurora Project, which, according to him, could provide a safe place for my brother and me here in Atlas."
The leader of media took a sip of her drink before responding. "The Aurora Project is the council's response after extensive deliberation among its members. Many had their own motivations, but all have the ultimate goal of protecting and securing Atlas."
"You should know that we have evidence of the incredible abilities both siblings demonstrated during the Pfeilspitze mission." Taking a slight sip of her wine, she looked at Miyu with admiration and continued, "It's truly astonishing, but we find it difficult to gauge the future possibilities of your abilities."
"You're right, Elara," Isolde continued. "Little Miyu, you and your brother have made a significant impression on the Council members. That's why they hold you both in high regard and have had no reservations about providing a significant amount of resources for your proper training and support in developing your unique abilities."
Miyu looked uncertainly at the ladies, not sure what to say. For their part, the ladies noticed the young girl's uncertainty and confusion.
"You can be sure that magic is not entirely unknown in Remnant. Despite being only documented in fairy tales, legends, and myths, we have our way of assisting you," the General smiled as she passed a small book to Miyu. "I noticed how you looked with great interest at some books on the shelves during our city tour. I hope you like this, Miyu."
"Ah... our grumpy and inflexible Grand General Elara has her soft side," teased the Media leader, mimicking her counterpart's actions as she offered a book to Miyu. "But that's why she can't help but admire you. I feel the same way, Little Miyu."
Miyu pondered for a moment before smiling gratefully at the gifts and words of encouragement from both leaders. "It's a beautiful gesture, and I appreciate the opportunity that has been given to us, but... there are still things you don't know about us. Shirou has gone through many struggles and challenges, and I was a burden to my brother for a long time. I still feel responsible for everything we went through."
Elara spoke with gentleness. "Shirou is very lucky to have you as a little sister, Miyu."
Miyu shook her head with heaviness before taking a sip of her drink. "But I want to talk to him before making a decision, but..." Her gaze filled with determination, "I don't deny the possibility that this could be a fresh start for us."
The general felt more confident before adding, "I'm sure you'll both find your place here in Atlas and have the opportunity to make this world a better place."
"I agree with this grumpy one," Isolde chimed in with a spontaneous smile, teasing the General's grumpy expression. "I mean, you can count on us for whatever you need, Miyu!"
Miyu was touched by their words and felt a warm gratitude towards them. Throughout the day, they had welcomed her with such kindness despite only having known them for less than a day. For the first time since she arrived in this world, she felt at peace. Not to mention that she still had her brother's support. "I'm eager to discover more about Atlas and how my brother and I could fit in here. On behalf of my brother, I say thank you for everything you've done for us."
Isolde smiled and raised her glass. "Welcome to your new home, little Miyu."
Elara joined in. "Even though it's a different world, here you'll have the opportunity to make new friends during your stay, and you can count on strong support. The realm of Atlas will spare no effort."
They clinked their drinks, celebrating the start of a new chapter in Miyu's life in the Kingdom of Atlas, gaining a better understanding of the complexity of Remnant and the multiple layers that made up this world. This was the beginning of a new story, and despite the challenges ahead, she was determined to make the most of this opportunity.
The night was long, and Miyu remained in silence as she gazed at the fragmented moon in the starry sky, reflecting on the past three days since she had awakened in this unknown world. Every moment had been a whirlwind of emotions, a mixture of amazement, uncertainty, and hope. But, above all, it had been an opportunity to meet special people, each with their unique personalities.
Officer James Ironwood, the academic leader of Atlas, had impressed her with his kindness and determination. General Elara Ironsides, the imposing military leader, had inspired her with her dedication to the security and protection of Atlas. And Isolde Ravenshadow, the charismatic media leader, had added a refreshing touch to her experience with her enthusiasm.
Although only a few days had passed, Miyu had had the chance to continue her conversations with them and slowly gain a better perspective of their personalities. Each of them had provided their assistance and trust, helping her better understand the kingdom and its inhabitants.
The city of Atlas, with its initially cold and technological impression, had started to reveal its true essence. While the technology was amazing, Miyu had learned that there was also a strong sense of purpose and commitment among the citizens, a dedication to the safety and protection of their home. These were values she understood and respected.
Despite the persistent doubts she had about the Aurora Project, Miyu was beginning to consider it as a possibility for her and her brother Shirou. As she reflected more on it, she saw the potential for a new life in Remnant with the assistance of the Kingdom of Atlas. However, her biggest concern remained the lack of signs that Shirou was awakening. Still, she had faith in her older brother, which provided her with some comfort amidst the uncertainty.
After taking a sip of water to calm her nerves and dispel her doubts, Miyu lay back on her bed. The exhaustion of the past few days was beginning to weigh on her body and mind. Despite all the unanswered questions and challenges that lay ahead, she knew she had to rest to face a new day in the world of Remnant. She closed her eyes, hoping that when she opened them again, her brother Shirou would be by her side, ready to face the destiny that awaited them together.
Miyu's day had started like any other at the medical facilities of Atlas. She followed her morning routine, which included a refreshing bath and a light breakfast in the medical wing's dining area. Afterward, she retreated to the inner library, where she spent hours reading books to keep herself occupied while awaiting news about her brother.
It had been seven long days since they had seemingly arrived in this world of Remnant, and during that time, she had continued to receive reports without any updates about Shirou. Each day that passed with the lack of news increased Miyu's worry, and her routine became more distressing and monotonous.
However, her day took an unexpected turn when she finally received the news that Shirou had awakened. Emotions overwhelmed her immediately, and a mix of surprise and relief was reflected on her face. With tears of happiness in her eyes, she promptly sought information from the medical and nursing teams to get details about her brother's condition, eager to know everything that had happened while he was unconscious.
The reunion with Shirou after a long wait was a moment she had been longing for. Although her brief time in Atlas had introduced her to remarkable people, their relationship was unique and irreplaceable. In the midst of this unfamiliar world, they were each other's greatest mutual support. Her brother was her family and protector, and concern for his safety had never left her during his absence. The awaited reunion would be a moment filled with emotions and words they had been eager to share.
The health team responsible for the Emiya siblings demonstrated a high degree of professionalism and humanity in their treatment of them. They provided a detailed account of how they were found, the type of treatment they received at the facilities, and how both had positively evolved under their careful medical supervision.
As he listened to the story, Shirou's face displayed a mix of overwhelming emotions. His words were filled with genuine gratitude and deep relief, surprising everyone present. For the health team, situations like these might be routine, but for someone like Shirou Emiya, comprehending everything that had happened during his state of unconsciousness was astonishing. His sincere gratitude for the care they had received, especially on behalf of his little sister, was reflected in every expression and word he used.
The news of Shirou's unexpected awakening quickly reached the ears of Officer Ironwood, who was informed of the situation immediately. The doctors informed James that Shirou was anxious but full of joy to know that Miyu was well and reiterated his desire to reunite with her.
It was no surprise that Officer Ironwood took on the mission of escorting Miyu to her brother's room. James enjoyed his task, admiring the eager yet happy expressions of the girl by his side, and feeling that as they approached the door, anticipation filled the air. Upon reaching their destination, Ironwood couldn't help but smile softly as he looked at the young girl seeking his permission. He made a slight nod with his hand, giving the green light for her to enter.
Miyu stood in front of the door that physically separated her from her brother. She took a moment to control her emotions and inhale deeply before opening it. At that moment, everything seemed to stop for her. In the middle of the room, Shirou stood waiting for her, with his arms extended and a smile that could only be described as "Shirou's style." It was a unique smile that had so often made her feel protected and at peace.
It was inevitable; tears filled the eyes of both siblings as they finally embraced in an emotional hug. In that gesture, they conveyed everything that words could not. Despite all the adversities and challenges they had faced together, only at that moment could they confirm that their reunion was not a dream but a reality. Both wished that time would stand still at that moment, to fully savor their reunion.
The reunion between the Emiya siblings was an emotional and special moment.
Shirou and Miyu continued to embrace each other with tenderness, sharing different words of encouragement in an attempt to uplift and console each other. Their gazes reflected a deep resonance, strengthening their bond as only siblings who have overcome many adversities together can do.
The room seemed imbued with a sense of happiness and hope for their reunion, which is why Officer Ironwood decided to maintain his position as a spectator from the doorway, showing his respect for the emotional scene. He was grateful for the professional ethics of the healthcare team, who quietly withdrew from the room, granting privacy to the siblings at this significant moment.
This gesture of empathy and care from the Kingdom of Atlas was something new for the siblings, allowing them to feel the welcoming spirit of this place. While it was a beginning, the feeling of being in a place where they were valued and their well-being was a relief in the midst of their challenging situation.
After the emotional embrace, Officer Ironwood approached Shirou with a smile on his face and introduced himself: "Pleasure to meet you, young Emiya Shirou. I am Officer James Ironwood, the academic leader of the Atlas Council. I know there's much to discuss, but for now, I'll give you time to catch up with Miss Miyu." Noticing how both siblings separated, adopting a more relaxed posture.
"I appreciate your intentions, Officer Ironwood," Shirou affirmed with seriousness. He nodded respectfully towards the officer and straightened his back, while Miyu watched her older brother with a mix of joy and anxiety. "I'll be ready to speak with you at another time, but for now, I wish to express my deepest gratitude to the Kingdom of Atlas for taking care of us and for everything they have done for us so far."
"I appreciate the opportunity you've given us both, Officer Ironwood," Miyu added, mimicking her brother's actions as a way to express her heartfelt gratitude.
James Ironwood smiled as he shook his head at the siblings' actions. "I had the fortune to thank young Miyu for saving my men, but I wasn't as lucky to do the same with you, Young Shirou. That's why I should be the one to respond with the same sincerity you've shown to me." Ironwood placed his hands on the siblings' shoulders, applying gentle pressure to bring them back up and then bowed to them. "I know it's been too late, but I want you to know that on that day, you also saved half of my life." His words reflected his gratitude and respect for the Emiya siblings, as well as recognition of their bravery and sacrifice in the past.
Both siblings watched in amazement at the officer's sincere actions. Shirou nervously placed a hand on his back, while Miyu watched her brother with amusement. "I think we've all shown our gratitude, so I can say that Officer James Ironwood is a great person."
Miyu took her brother's hand and smiled. "My brother may be unreliable at times, but he always shows his courage at crucial moments."
"Well, with nothing more to add, this Officer won't interrupt you any longer," declared James Ironwood, not before placing a hand on Shirou's shoulder and looking at him for a moment. "We've decided to postpone the meeting with the Council for a few days. I'd like to take the opportunity to introduce you to a couple of individuals who I think could be important. But for now, I'll let you enjoy this moment with your family." His words reflected the consideration and respect he felt for the Emiya siblings, always maintaining his warm and kind smile.
With those words, Officer Ironwood left the room, providing them with the privacy they needed. Both siblings looked at each other for a moment before they began to discuss the officer's words. But that didn't stop Shirou, with a mix of surprise and happiness, from beginning to ask Miyu questions about what had happened during his absence, realizing that he had been unconscious for more than seven days. Miyu shared with him the details of her arrival in Remnant, her encounter with the authorities of Atlas, and the people they had met.
After obtaining the necessary permissions for Shirou to enjoy some fresh air, they continued their conversation. Their words were full of surprises and mysteries as they both shared their experiences and discoveries about this world called Remnant.
The day they spent together was warm and affectionate, allowing their bond to strengthen as they caught up on everything they had been through separately. They watched the sunset together from the balcony of the medical wing, each with their own thoughts and reflections. For Miyu, sharing this moment with her brother was magical and hopeful as they discussed their concerns and joys, especially regarding the "Project Aurora" and the possibilities that lay before them in the Kingdom of Atlas. Shirou, on the other hand, was understanding and thoughtful, noting the changes in his younger sister and how she had coped in his absence.
In the end, both prepared for what the future held for them in the world of Remnant. It was a moment of connection between the siblings, marking a new chapter in their lives in Remnant.
Hello again, here KaleidoMirror bids farewell after presenting Chapter 4, "My First Steps." I hope you've enjoyed it.
Now, let's move on to the comments and support section. I want to thank all of you, as your support makes the updates come faster.
Dasgun, you're amazing, my friend. Thank you very much for your support.
Junipolo, I understand your concerns. I know that particular part can be a bit difficult to understand. When I wrote it, I wanted to incorporate a series of concepts that will be developed later in the plot. This section is designed to get readers to start thinking about the doubts and concepts that have been raised. In the 9 seasons of RWBY and all the official extra material I've read, I've developed my own ideas and interpretations, which has allowed me to take certain creative liberties. I encourage you to look forward to how everything will connect in the future.
Drubengene, I greatly appreciate your words. Your analysis was really helpful and inspired me to do my best in this chapter to present this aspect of the story. I hope you liked the result.
Spartenpride11, your comment was very encouraging. It motivated me a lot to prepare this update. I'm glad you enjoyed the appearance of Don Quixote. I hope I didn't disappoint you.
Runs defenseless Anus, I appreciate your comment. That's why I decided to add a small disclaimer to express the scope of this fanfic in the context of the RWBY series. Thank you!
keybladelight, your observations and your review are highly appreciated. When I started this fanfic, I reflected on the structure and scope of Atlas as a kingdom, which led me to incorporate certain characters that will play an important role in the story. I try to maintain consistency with the RWBY universe and respect canonical characters. While I'm exploring magic and Shirou's role in a unique way, my goal is to show a more human side and create new possibilities in Remnant. In the next chapter, you'll get many answers to your questions. I hope you like it!
THOTSLAYER9000, thank you for your comment. To be honest, I'm not ashamed of my story, but I'm glad you've enjoyed the read.
Guest, thank you for your support. You are the reason I keep updating and deciding where to focus.
With nothing more to add, I hope you've enjoyed this new update. Until the next chapter!
