one weekend it was Nicole's birthday. The girls were having a great time playing games. After cake was eaten, Nicole's parents gave her her gift. Nicole opened it and was very happy to receive a a beautiful new doll for her to play with. That evening before bed, Nicole was sitting with her friends showing what her doll could do.
Riley then asked "Nicole can we see your doll,
Nicole nodded and handed her doll over to the twins. Madeline s patted the doll's head. Madeline then whispered to her Sister. "It would be nice to have a nice doll."
Riley said "I agree sis we only have our bunny rag dolls from Emily". Hmm maybe we could start doing little jobs to earn money to buy a nice doll like that.
Madeline agreed. After being tucked into bed, Madeline and Riley drifted off to sleep hoping one day they would be able to get a nice new doll to play with.
Riley, Madeline, and the Toy Factory
Narrator.. In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines lived thirteen little girls. in two straighter line. They left the house at half passed nine.. Miss Clavel gasped and brought the twin sisters into their lines.
in two straights lines, in rain... or shine, the oldest one was Riley, and the smallest one was Madeline. In paris, one of the greatest joy is visiting the Toy shop.
All the girls said, Bonjour!"
Narrator.. There were trains and cars and cuckoo clock, bears, and bunnies, and piles of blocks.
The girls said, "Ohh!
The girls had been looking in the window of the toy store which was named hopes and dreams.
Nicole said, Oh, Miss Clavel, may we go into the shop and see the toys?"
Chloe said, "Oui! Please, Miss Clavel?"
Miss Clavel said, Well, I suppose so, but only to look, not to buy."
The girls filed into the store in there two straight lines however,
Narrator.. once in the shop, the girls went wild. Toys can do that to a child.
The toy owner said, "Non! Arretze !"
The 13 girls were running wild playing with the toys.
Miss Clavel Oh," she says, getting Jennie off of the rocking horse.
Madeline and Riley had climbed onto a train that went around the store.
The toy owner said, No,no, you can't ride on that!"
Madeline said, "All aboard! Next Stop is the Zoo!"
Riley said, "No the Park!"
Miss Clavel got both twins off of the two trains and placed them in two straight lines. "Now you little girls clam down. I'm so sorry, the girls were only playing."
Susan said, "Look at my beautiful store and my hairdo!"
The girls looked around and saw the huge mess making them feel guilty.
All the girls said, "We are sorry; please forgive us!"
"We will help you clean everything up," Madeline said."
Oui let's get started then Riley said as she and the girls started to clean up their mess.
Meanwhile Miss Clavel asked if she could use the phone to call a friend of hers. Which she did while the girls cleaned.
After all the toys were picked up, the girls got ready to go.
Narrator.. Apologies were said once more, and the girls all headed out the door.
Susan phew!
However she tripped over a stray block that was left.
Narrator.. leaving the poor clerk on the floor.
Outside, the girls just had to keep looking at the dolls of every size and shape.
Madeline said, "What fun you can have with a doll like me!"
Madeline then twirled around like a ballerina.
Chloe said, "Silly Madeline, you are fun as a girl!"
Madeline said, "But a doll is the perfect friend!"
Riley said it sounds fun to me.
Miss Clavel said, "Not as perfect as a real little girl, now come Les enfants, I have a surprise for you."
Miss Clavel led the girls to a large house.
Miss Clavel said Little girls you are about to meet a friend of mine who I've known for a long time.
(Ringing doorbell)
Narrator.. A little man raced down the stair, his mustache had some orange hair.
Monsieur La Rue said, Aw, Miss Clavel, at last you have arrived!
as they kiss a little.
(Children giggles)
Monsieur La Rue said, Ah, These must be your beautiful girls."
All the girls said, "Bonjour!"
Monsieur La Rue said, "And so well behaved!"
Miss Clavel said, Well, most of the time."
"Excuse me sir what is this place?" Riley asked.
Monsieur La Rue said, "I hope it will be satisfactory to take a tour of my toy factory."
Nicole said is it true.
Chloe said "I cannot believe it!"?
Dainelle said, Will we see them make dolls?
Monsieur La Rue said, Oui, of course, and other wonderful toys too!"
Madeline said, "But nothing is as wonderful as a doll!"
Monsieur La Rue pushed a button on the wall making the door slide up.
The first room that they entered had a conveyor belt and on the belt there were toy solders marching.
Monsieur La Rue said, "Alloy mes amies!"
Madeline jumped up and pretended to march behind the toy soldiers. un... deux...
Chloe said, "Look out, Madeline!"
as a soldier kicks Madeline, which made her fall
Ouch Madeline said as Riley helped her get down from the belt.
as the rest of the girls Giggled
Madeline said, Hey, wait up. As she and her sister ran to catch up with the others.
Narrator.. The girls couldn't believe their eyes, for in each new room was a new surprise, and the biggest toy of all was a giant bouncing ball.
Riley said, "Race you, Madeline!"
She and Madeline took off
Madeline laughed
As they bounced on two big bouncy balls.
Miss Clavel however was getting worried. As she chased after the twins.
Miss Clavel said, Oh, Riley and Madeline, look out!"
Monsieur La Rue said, "Do not worry, Miss Clavel; I will not let your girls bounce away."
As he used the net to catch Riley and Madeline and placed both girls back in line.
Narrator.. Then Monsieur La Rue said...
La rue ' "Before you bounce right off the walls, perhaps you would like to dress some dolls?"
Chloe said, "Dress Dolls?"
Danielle said, "Certainment!"
All the girls said, "Oui oui Allonez!"
The girls ran to the wall of dolls.
Narrator.. Then in a moment in a snap, each had a beautiful doll in her lap.
Miss Clavel said, "I will be outside talking to Monsieur La Rue; now you girls behave!"
Monsieur La Rue said, "And do not touch that conveyor belt, s'il te plaît, or you may wind up in a box!"
All the girls said, "A box?"
Monsieur La Rue said, "And on a delivery truck."
All the girls said, "Do not worry, Miss Clavel; we will be careful."
Narrator.. Thirteen little girls were left to play while the two old friends were chatting away.
Riley said, Voila, my doll!" As she held up her doll who looked just like her.
Chloe said, "Tras Jolie girls, both dolls look just like you two!"
That gave the two sisters an idea.
Madeline said, "Now guess which one is the doll? Hide your eyes!"
Eleven girls covered their eyes.
Riley and Madeline placed their hats on the two dolls.
Riley said, "Now you may look."
All the girls gasped.
Chloe and Nicole said, "Which ones are the real Madeline and Riley?"
Chloe walked over to the dolls as she waved both of her hands.
Riley and Madeline giggle, "We fooled you, Chloe!"
Riley and Madeline place their hats back on their heads.
Madeline began to dance with her doll.
Madeline
Me and my doll will dance the cancan.
Me and my doll, on the Isle of Man
That's me and my doll.
Riley then sang
Me and my doll will have a tea party.
Me and my doll, with a Saint Bernard
That's me and my doll.
Riley, Madeline, and the Girls
Eyes that move, knees that bend
I'll dress her up. She is my friend.
Madeline
Me and my doll—I'll give her a hairdo.
Me and my doll, a high-up-in-the-air 'do
For me and my doll.
Riley, Madeline, and the Girls
Eyes that move, knees that bend
I'll dress her up. She is my friend.
Madeline
That's me and my doll!
She spins her doll before spinning herself.
Chloe said, "Be careful, Madeline; do not go near the conveyer belt!"
Chloe was always watching out for the twins.
Madeline said, "Do not worry, Chloe."
Narrator.. Pirouetting little twirls, the dolls danced with happy girls.
Madeline's doll then flew out of her hands and landed on the fast moving conveyor belt.
Madeline said, "My doll, ah!"
Madeline, forgetting the warning about not playing near the machine, jumped onto the moving belt to try and save her doll.
"Hang on Maddie let me help you. Riley said as she jumped onto the machine as well.
Narrator.. Both girls stood up once. then they flippered and soon both girls were put into separate boxes to be shipped.
The 11 little girls gasped.
Nicole said, "Miss Clavel, come tout suit! Madeline and Riley are gone!"
Narrator.. it just Miss Clavel has feared Madeline and Riley have disappeared, both girls were packed in boxes and out the door on their way to two big toy store. Everybody has to cry not single eye was dry.
Meanwhile Madeline and Riley were having so much fun.
Madeline said, "I am a doll!" ha ha ha
Riley giggle Yes, but Maddie is quite sure that Driver is looking back here.
Narrator.. said Riley with a little giggles as she give her toes a wiggle. The street of Paris are quite bumpy. Riley and Madeline got a little bit jumpy.
…
on the other side of Paris in a great big chateau where a girl named Giselle was feeling quite low.
Yvette her mother said said, Well, Dr. Chon, how is my little Giselle?"
Narrator.. Dr. Chon showed his concern.
Dr. Chon said, "What our little Giselle needs less is bed; her fever is gone and she is getting stronger every day, but she needs something to lift her spirits so she can fully recover."
Yvette said, "I don't know what else to get her; Giselle already has everything a little girl could want."
Dr. Chon said, "What this little girl needs is a sunny day and some friends to share it with."
Yvette said, "But she has no friends, She have a sister though but they only see each other on the weekends because they were separated in the foster system when they were little. Her sister's name is Amela and she was already adopted by the time I adopted Giselle. Amela's dad and I are trying to have the girls come and live together. However the foster system will not allow that since we are both single parents.
Dr. Chon said, "Hmm?
…
Meanwhile
Narrator.. The big truck screech to a short stop as Madeline and Riley arrived.
The driver came around and unloaded a few boxes of dolls and handed them to the owner of Hopes and Dreams toy shop.
Little did the twins know that they were separated.
Cindy took the boxes of dolls inside and opened the first box which had Madeline. Cindy said, "Tras Jolie! What beautiful dolls, and so realistic!"
Narrator.. soon, Madeline was on the shelf between a pony and an elf.
(Madeline said "Merci" and giggled.)
Cindy said, Hmm?" She curtsies and says thank you.
Meanwhile the truck drove across town to the other toy shop where the owner named Alyssa had just received her new shipment of dolls as well. Alyssa took Riley out of her box and placed her on the shelf as well. Even Though the twins were separated both of them were thinking the same thing.
Narrator.. This was the best game she and Madeline have even played so both girls continued their charade.
Cindy was still unloading the toys when Yevette walked in looking to buy her daughter a new doll as a friend. The mother's eyes landed on Madeline. Yevette knew that she would be the perfect doll not knowing that Madeline was a real little girl.
Also in the other toy store a man named Josphine walked in with his daughter (Who was really Giselles sister) Almea then noticed Riley who was on the shelf. Almea asked "oh Papa can I please get a new doll? Josephine nodded
as Almea said "Oh thank you papa." Almea then took Riley off the shelf.
Narrator : and in no time someone thought it would be pleasant to buy Madeline and Riley as a presents
a moment after Madeline and Riley were brought, the group of girls raced in distraught.
Miss Clavel said, "Vit Vit mes petites; we will find her and Riley here, I am sure. Have you seen a little girl? one small and with red hair.
Chloe said, "With a yellow outfit."
Nicole said, "And curtsies."
Narrator.. The clerk wrote the name of Madeline's owners.
Cindy said, "And if you like to, you may phone her!"
Miss Clavel said, "Merci, merci beaucoup!"
Narrator.. Miss Clavel dialed the number in a tizzy, but alas the line was busy, as Madeline and Riley's boxes bumped to and fro as they reached the large chateau.
Yevette's driver came around and opened the car door.
Yvette said, thank you Alxe.
Yevette entered the house and had just given her coat and hat to the maid when the doorbell rang. When Yevette opened the door she smiled because standing on the stoop, was Giselle's sister Alema and her father. "Bonjour Almea, Josephine, How you?"
"I'm fine and really excited to see my sister and also show her my new doll I just got her today.. Almea said as she showed Yevette her new doll.
Yevette then said I bought Giselle a new doll today as well. I was about to go and give it to her.
Josephine said i guess you and I think both dolls look alike.
Oui Yevette said blushing. As she and Josephine followed Almea upstairs to the playroom.
Narrator.. Hoping to give Giselle's spirit a lift. Yevette presented her daughter with a gift.
Yvette said, "Bonsoir mes petites." Chou
Giselle said, "Bonsoir Mama. then looking at her sister Giselle asked "How was ballet class today? "Alema said my teacher told me i'm getting a lot better. Then she and Giselle hugged.
Yvette then handed the box which held Madeline to her daughter.
Giselle opened the box
Giselle said "Another doll."?
Madeline winked
Yvette said, "Voila! A new friend. we will be up soon to get you for supper.
After the two parents left the room,
Almea said "Look I got a new doll as well why don't we play tea party with them.
"Great idea Giselle said as she got her crutch and stood up.
Both sisters walked to the table to set the tea set up.
Meanwhile…
All the girls said, "Madeline! Riley!"
The taxi pulled up to the old house and the 11 girls climbed out.
Miss Clavel said, "Do not worry, Jeunes filles, Monsieur La Rue and I will be back with Madeline and Riley before you go to Bed. Vit vit vit!"
Narrator.. clearly something was not right as the taxi screeched thought the town that night and afraid of a disaster Miss Clavel said...
Miss Clavel said, "Please go faster!"
(Tires screech)
Narrator.. Until Monsieur said...
Monsieur said "Please be careful how you drive; we would like to have Madeline and Riley alive!"
Miss Clavel said i m sure Riley and Madeline are together
Back at the house
Amelia and Giselle had just finished setting up the tea set when Yevette and Josephine came in to get the girls for supper. Almea got an idea and said Please, Ms Yvette and dad, can me and Giselle want to eat with our two new dolls in the playroom.
Giselle said, Please, Mama.
Yvette said, Alright, Giselle, Amelia, just this once."
Josephine said but no making a mess
Amelia said we won't Dad.
Josephine nodded and said alright I do need to talk to Giselle's mother alone. Call us if you need anything. Both Giselle and Almea nodded as two parents left the playroom once more.
Giselle said, "What do you think, Teddy? Shall we name her Yvette? After our mom?"
Amelia said she was naming my doll Rudy.
Narrator.. Things went off without a hitch . until, Madeline felt an Itch.
Madeline scratched her nose as the itch was hard to ignore.
Giselle said, "Did you scratch your nose? Madeline just stood still. As Giselle said You are almost real!"
Riley said, Stop wiggling around.
Madeline said "Sorry It's hard to stand still for very long.
Amelia said, "Rudy, did you talk cool.
Giselle nodded and when she moved her arm she accidently knocked a tea cup which rolled across the floor.
"I'll get it. Madeline whispered to her sister.
"Maddie don't." Riley started to say
Narrator.. as Madeline walked across the floor,
Giselle said, "Encore! , encore! Madeline then placed the tea cup back on the table. Giselle then said You are the most wonderful doll, Yvette; other children won't play with me because I can't run and jump like them."
Amelia said Giselle just because you were born different but i still Love you no matter what. so what if you can't take Ballet class like me? if you wanted i'm can sure you could learn.
Giselle said yes, please.
Narrator.. Madeline looked at the sweet bread on the table and thought MMMM, that look sweets. as Riley remember that real dolls cannot eat. as she nudged Madeline on the side.
Amelia said let's set Rudy and Yevette on the bench as they can be our audience.
Giselle agreed as she and her sister placed their dolls on the bench with their other toys.
Narrator.. In the old house, tears were shed as the girls sat down to break their bread.
Eleven girls: "We love our bread, we love our butter, but most of all we love... Madeline Riley!"
As Miss Murphy brought hankies to the girls.
Back at the large Chateu,
(Music Playing)
Narrator.. Quelle surprise! what a shock that Gisella and Amelia doll s could dance as well as walk.
Amelia said whoe both dolls are dancing together.
Madeline Laughed as she took Giselle and danced with her.
Giselle said, "I am so happy, Yvette; now I have a friend!" "Hey Almea said." "Well along with my sister of course.
Amelia said, Me too. Rudy, you are the best doll I ever had. for sure Dad and I will have to come back over next weekend.
The two parents then walked into the playroom, and were very happy to see their children laughing.
Yvette said, "Giselle, Amelia, time for bed.
Giselle said "Already?" Both Yevette and Josephine nodded.
Narrator.. Then Madeline and Riley were placed up on a shelf left in the dark room all by themselves.
As the clock strike 8 pm
Madeline said Riley I'm hungry'
Riley said, me too but Giselle and Amelia never ate their snacks; and look there is a slide.
As she and Madeline slid down. And sat down at the table.
Madeline said I am missing Miss Clavel though. "I am too Maddie. However, let's eat Riley said as she bit into a piece of sweet bread.
Riley said yummy.
Madeline said good cookies
Meanwhile Miss Clavel was super worried. As she hopped the twins were alright.
Narrator.. then in a moment of great elation, the taxi arrived at its destination. all along, it was expected that Riley and Madeline would soon be detected.
(Madeline gulps down the cookies)
(Riley drinks the tea in her cup.)
Just then the door to the playroom opens and Miss Clavel comes into the room. Madeline and Riley give a scream of delight as they run to their teacher who scoops them up into a tight hug.
Narrator.. Riley and Madeline felt quite relived, but Gisselle and Amelia felt they had been deceived by their favorite dolls their bonne amie was no more then a fantasy.
The two sisters eyes fill with tears.
Madeline said, "Please understand, I am a real little girl. My name is Madeline, and I want to go home."
Giselle cried.
Amelia said you are.?
Riley said, "But it was really fun being your dolls."
Amelia said through her tears, but you don't understand Riley. I can only play with my sister on the weekends because we're not able to stay together.
Monsieur La Rue said, Ah, Giselle, Amelia. I will come back tomorrow with two new dolls and a whole trunk full of beautiful clothes. Au revoir!"
Miss Clavel then led Riley and Madeline out of the room as well.
Giselle said, "Au revoir! Now I have lost my only friend." Giselle sobbed as Amela hugged her.
Amelia said to Giselle I can't believe they were real girls all this time.
Josephine said to Amelia we better get going as well. but I promise you we will come back next weekend. We also just live a few blocks away.
Amelia said Dad not the point when we going to be one big family it isn't fair i can only be with my little sister on the weekend.
Josephine and Yevette nodded.
Back at the old house
Nicole said, Oh, Madeline, Riley, we are so glad you are back!"
All the Girls Oui, Madeline Riley, thank goodness you are here! We were so worried!"
"We love our bread, we love our butter, but most of all, we love each other!"
Narrator.. Back at home, the girls have broken their breads, brushed their teeth, and want to bed.
Miss Clavel said, "Bon nuit mes petites, sleep well, and be thankful we are all together again."
All the girls: "Bon nuit, Miss Clavel!" As she turned off the light and closed the door.
Narrator.. The next Monsieur La Rue did what he said. he brought two dolls some Clothers and two doll beds.
Yvette said, "Voila Giselle." you have a new doll
Josphine was also giving his daughter the new doll as well
Narrator.. but nothing could cheer up Gisella or help her broken heart get well.
Yvette said, Come, Giselle, and have a Tea Party with this beautiful doll.
Giselle sighed and said, "Non, Mama. I miss Madeline and Almea; she would have played in the garden with me."
Yvette said, "Perhaps, but she and Madeline aren't here now.
Back at Alma's house.
Josephine said Oh, please eat your breakfast, Ma Cherie; it will give you more energy to play!"
Back at the Old House
Miss Clavel said, Oh, please eat your breakfast, Ma. Cherie; it will give you more energy to play!"
Narrator.. Although the day was bright with Sun, Madeline and Riley could not have fun.
(Children laughing)
Narrator.. Down in their hearts, they felt a pain. Gisella's and Amelia's sad faces came to mind again.
Madeline said, "I did not want to hurt Giselle; I was only playing a game."
Miss Clavel said, "I know, Ma Cherie."
Madeline said, "She was so much fun at tea parties,
Riley said, and Amelia danced.
Madeline said yes, but Giselle could even dance when she tried."
Narrator.. Before another word was said, a plot brew in Miss Clavel's head, as if Riley and Madeline read her mind, she decides it would be kind to see the girls that the twins left behind.
Miss Clavel then called Josephine and told him the plan which the man happily agreed to.
A few days later on a bright sunny Thursday, Yevette smiled as she led Josephine and Alema inside. Alema ran to her sisters room. Giselle was so surprised to see her sister on a day other than the weekend that she started crying happy tears.
An hour later te taxi pulled up at the large Chateu and out came all 13 girls.
Madeline and Riley were so excited that the ran and knocked on the front door with glee. Yevette opened it and smiled down at the twins.
Miss Clavel said, "We are here to play with a picnic to brighten Giselle' and Amelia's day."
Madeline said, "And we liked to play with Giselle and Amelia so much,
Riley said that we brought eleven friends!
Yvette said, Oh, Giselle and Amelia will be so happy. Why don't you and Riley go and surprise them.
Madeline and Riley run upstairs to the playroom and open the door and says, "Giselle, Amelia,
Giselle and Almea look up and they both give a scream of happiness "Madeline, Riley what are you doing here?"
(Madeline giggles)
Madeline and Riley kissed Giselle and Alema on the cheek.
Riley said, Come, Giselle and Amelia, there is a surprise waiting for you two outside!"
Giselle said, "A surprise
Amelia said, Outside?"
Narrator.. Outside, there was a delicious spread of Bon Bon berries and cheese and breads, and some hurgy girls were waiting to be fed. Bonjour Bonjour they said in greeting and with that began their eating. they finished eating and before they knew it Giselle was playing she could do it!
Amelia gasped as she saw her sister playing without her crutch. Almea said, Gisele your crutch. Man, you ran fast.
Giselle said I don't need the crutch anymore. Amelia, wait up, Madeline.
Amelia said, Yes, my sister is back.
Yvette said, Oh, I have never seen Giselle so happy; you are so kind to come here."
Miss Clavel said, Ah, but you must thank Madeline and Riley; both of them are the ones who thought to visit with all of the girls.
Narrator.. They laughed all day, feeling quite cheery,
Miss Clavel said, "And so the beautiful princesses and...
Narrator.. until evening came and they got weary.
Miss Clavel said, "And they lived happily ever after."
Madeline said, "I'm so happy to be your friend, Giselle, and Miss Clavel said we can come back to play again!"
Giselle said, "I am glad you are not a doll, Madeline."
Amelia said thanks to Riley for coming by today.
Yevette and Josephine then said and we also have a surprise for you girls.
"What is it Papa." Alema asked eagerly.
Yevette said "Almea your father and I have decided to get married so you and Giselle can always be together. All 15 little girls were so happy that they all started crying happy tears.
After wiping away their tears,
Narrator.. Riley and Madeline asked if was alright for Giselle and Amelia to come and stay the night.
Giselle said, Oh, please, may I, mama?"
Amelia said, Please, Dad, can we?
Yvette said, "Oui oui, ma cherie!"
Josephine said i don't see why not
(Car door closes.)
All "Au revoir!" "Bye, we will see you tomorrow!"
Giselle said, "When I come home, I will play outside more often, mama!"
Yvette said, Oui, we will."
Narrator.. Back at home they skip their bread, but they brushed their teeth and wanted to bed. then Miss Clavel kissed each one on the head.
Miss Clavel said, "I am very proud of you, Madeline and Riley. You both made someone very happy today."
Madeline said, "I am happy too, Miss Clavel, because now I have a new friend,
Riley said yes, but wait till we tell Emily about Amelia and Giselle she will be so excited.
Miss Clavel said, Bonne Nuit mes enfants (Good night, my children). "Could they be asleep already?
As the girls giggled.
Miss Clavel laughed, Oh, mes enfants, how glad I am that you are real little girls."
Narrator.. and she turned out the light, and closed the door. and that's all there is. there isn't anymore.
