The small boat underfoot churns and buckles as our driver completely disappears.

A tremendous wave of water rushes at us from behind.

"Hn?" I hum as I glance backwards.

All at once, Erza switches to her black wing armor, Jellal gains the glow of the 'Meteor' spell and I lift myself with Telekinesis.

The wave passes harmlessly underneath us all as we look down at the boat spiral out of control and strike a rock.

"Hn." I hum as I look to my two companions. "Well, that was spooky."

Erza stares up into the sky, it's roughly five PM. The sun is still out, so we have a little time to kill before the ritual begins anew.

We fly the remaining distance to the island and with the crunch of sand, we make landfall.

"Let's go to the village at once." Erza declares as she turns, requipping back into her standard armor and walking forwards towards the forest. "There is no telling when Deliora will be freed. It could be today, or it could be years from now... So we will need to hurry."

"It's going to happen sometime this month. Be it tonight, or four weeks from now." I fill in.

"Are there any ways to slow down the resurrection?" Jellal asks as we both follow along after Erza.

An Archive screen appears to my left, hanging beside me as I continue marching on. "Besides defeating everyone who knows how to do the spell?"

"Oh... there actually is a way." I lowly hum.

I gesture up to the sky.

"The moon drip is quite an interesting spell, I might have to pick it up one day... it starts exceedingly weak, the total strength of the magic disabling effect depending on the phase of the moon. It is utterly unusable with a new moon, at roughly five percent total power when used with a crescent moon, fifteen percent when used with a half-moon, thirty five percent with a Gibbous moon, and at the full one hundred percent power on the full moon." I explain. "This is merely the baseline for the spell, the rates could probably be improved through mastery."

"The thing is." I continue. "The film above the island focuses moonlight much like a magnifying glass, causing the spell to become even more effective. This film also has some unusual effects on creatures of the night. Owls sometimes won't be able to fly, bats may forget how to do their sonar, mice might leave their homes and stare at nothing. The spell itself can really mess with an ecosystem."

"It gets more powerful the longer it's used?" Jellal mutters.

"That's right... interestingly enough Moon drip can also be liquified so even non-mages can make use of it. hn. I should look into that." I quietly mutter to myself.

"Roughly how much more powerful would you say that the film makes this iteration of Moon drip?" he asks.

"A good question. First, you must understand that this isn't really a standard moon drip... Galuna island itself already focuses moonlight so by adding moon drip on top of it it's even more powerful... in addition there are dozens of mages performing it every night for the past three years. If I had to equate it to numbers, day one on this island, they would have had... let's call it five to ten 'dispelling power' instead of a mere half a point or... maybe even a tenth of a point that they might have had literally anywhere else. That number has only skyrocketed as the days went on. If we destroyed the film that tints the moon purple, it should lower the efficiency by... several hundred percent? Bringing it from a several hundred- potentially thousand- back down to a mere five."

"So, we will buy time if the film is destroyed." Erza observes.

"But doing so would in turn announce our presence to everyone on the island, both the good and the bad." I nod slowly.

"We should talk to the quest givers first." Jellal interjects.

"Right." I nod slowly as we come across some sort of fort, numerous tree trunks have been stabbed into the ground, forming a large, sharpened wall of logs. "We should be able to see the spell being activated. According to my knowledge here, it takes quite a bit of magical energy to start it, so we should perhaps wait until they start before we swoop in and mess things up for them. It'll give us the information of where they are and will have the added benefit of weakening them by... ten percent or so?"

A hooded head pokes up over the edge of the wall. "Stop right there! Not a step closer! Who goes there?!"

"We are wizards from Fairy Tail who have come to complete your request." Erza calls up to the man.

He is silent for a moment then glances over his shoulder.

"Come in. We were expecting you." The man states as the large gate begins to slowly rise up.

We walk inside, spying dozens of villagers milling about, glancing cautiously towards the gate, there are covered head to toe in robes and cowls that obscure their faces.

A hunched old man slowly steps forwards, in one hand is a large walking stick, on the end is a large white crystal that is shaped like a crescent moon.

"I... am Mocha the village chief." He begins, his voice elderly and slightly muffled by his cowl. "On behalf of everyone who lives here I welcome you."

"Thank you for your greetings." Erza nods. "What can you tell us about the job?"

"Introductions aside... before we get into the details of the mission, there is something you need to see." The man announces.

He removes his cloak, followed shortly by the other villagers.

Not a single person here is without some sort of innately wrong thing about them.

One woman has a black and chitinous arm, another has nubby red horns, another has a mouth full of jagged teeth.

But the elder...

Dear god... the balding old man...

Has sideburns that go down to his crotch!

Also one of his arms are almost disproportionally large past the elbow with large blackened claws, his posture is also a little off, but DEAR GODS the sideburns!

"Everyone on the island has suffered horrible disfigurement because of this curse." He sighs. "That is why we have sent a request to Fairy Tail in order to solve this issue."

"Since ancient times this island has absorbed the radiant moonlight, causing it to glow almost as beautifully as the moon itself. However, several years ago the moon's color began to change... and an eerie purple glow was cast upon the island!" The man explains. "When the moon shines above, everyone in the village takes the appearance of a horrid demonic being! Once the sun returns we regain our usual appearances... barring some changes, of course. But there are some unable to return as they lose their minds... these poor souls... gripped by madness, we have no choice but to put them to death."

Erza and Jellal's faces harden slightly as they cast a slightly disapproving gaze across the village.

Tears brim the old man's eyes, now his skin purple and blotchy, two horns appear on his forehead as he lowers his head to us, he seems to cancel whatever he was doing to restrain the 'curse'. "E-Even my poor son was affected... please... lift the curse that was placed on this island. I-if you don't... I'm sure we'll all die."

"We'll do it." Erza declares with a serious expression.

We waited in the village for about four hours, going over a basic plan.

After the ritual begins, we will destroy the film, crippling the rate of the moon drip, then rush towards the area we saw them channeling it.

My eyes stray around my immediate surroundings, numerous Archive screens in front of me and at my sides.

"Alright, I should have coded this next spell right..." I begin quietly.

I lazily flick a hand downwards. "Let's see if it works... Archive: Map..."

A map of the island appears with numerous green dots on it clustered around a tiny village towards the north of the crescent moon shaped island. Two blue dots sit next to a single blue arrow, showing my two 'party members' and myself.

Dozens of yellow dots sit out in the forest.

'huh?'

"Disable Neutral nonmagical animals with a weight lower than thirty pounds."

I take an idle note that my magic doesn't extend that far. Maybe... one thousand feet outside of the village. So an area roughly the size of half a mile, barely even five percent of the island.

The forest is cleared of all dots.

A bright grin appears on my face.

Man, Archive magic is such a godsend. It, much like Requip, is a magic I don't know how I lived without.

As of right now I am doing two things... the first? Creating this spell here which seemed to work quite nicely... and luckily there's no red dots quite yet.

Anyways, the second thing I am currently doing is equally important.

A second screen sits beside me as I lazily rest against a tree, on it is Mavis sitting in bed, blankets tucked up to her chest.

She had called me to ask how my job has been going a couple of minutes ago, so I had been spending the time filling her in.

We are probably hundreds of miles away, yet with Archive magic I can still hold a conversation with Mavis as if I were right in front of her. It's crazy.

"Oh? Did you do it?" She asks.

I nod once, turning her screen to briefly face my other screen, I can see her eyes widen slightly, a smile working its way onto her lips. "Huh. Impressive!"

"I've gained a new appreciation for Archive magic. It can really do anything. Check someone's health, create a map that can search for certain things, hell, it can even download and upload attacks. Genuinely impressive stuff." I nod slowly. "So, anyways, Erza, Jellal and I are currently waiting for the cultists somewhere on this island to start up the Moon Drip ritual so someone can break the film over the island. Then we'll go beat them all up."

"The Moon Drip ritual? Oh that's an interesting spell. It breaks curses, right?" The girl questions.

"It does." I nod slowly. "A potent spell, magnified due to the island we are currently on... I've also heard it's possible to make the moon drip into a liquid... sort of like a potion. A portable curse breaking method could be incredibly useful in the future, so maybe we should look into it."

"That's true." Mavis nods once. "I'll see if our Library has anything on the spell in the morning if you'd like... wait, would knowing about the moon drip be of assistance to you? I could go now if-"

She begins to get out of bed so I hold up a head. "No. No. Stay in bed, Mavis. I've already got the basics of the Moon Drip ritual. Even if we have a book on it, there's probably not much else you could tell me about the spell itself. Don't worry about it. I've got the Tenrou Jade, remember?"

She lets out a long breath. "Yeah... okay... do you know what they are even using the Moon Drip ritual on? That quest has been at the guild for a long time... that means that they have been doing said ritual for a long time... almost every night, due to the location of the island, right? What could they possibly be trying to break?"

"Iced Shell." I answer ominously.

"Iced... shell?" Mavis echoes, she tilts her head, narrowing her eyes slightly. "Where have I- WAIT... that's... that's the ice spell that kills its caster, right?! The one that is used to trap whoever it is used on?! This is bad! What are they even trying to release?! If it was Iced Shell, surely it is something monstrously powerful! That sort of spell could likely even restrain a dragon!"

"They are using it to free a demon by the name of Deliora."

"Deliora?!" The girl gasps.

"One of the books of Zeref, yes." I slowly nod.

"That... that demon took everything from Grey..." She whispers.

"I'm aware." I nod once. "I truly wish he was here to help out. It could give him some closure."

She nods mutely as I look around.

"Be careful." She demands.

"Of course, I will." I snort. "I know Deliora's capabilities."

Her worry remains. "It has an extremely potent power that allows it to pierce through-"

"Through all magical defenses, I know." I complete with a slow nod. "You don't need to worry much, though."

"The demons from the books of Zeref are highly dangerous. This is not something you should take lightly, Pierce. Lullaby could instantly kill anyone who hears it... and it was one of the weaker demons."

"You forgot one key detail... the iced shell doesn't merely trap something... it slowly chips away at its life." I reveal. "Each and every moment, Deliora is growing weaker and weaker... it has been trapped in the iced shell for, what? Ten years now?"

"Roughly that long." She nods.

"It is a husk of its former self, in addition, I have already given Erza dragon bone armor and weapons. The one set of armor its special ability will have no effect on."

Mavis lets out a long relenting sigh. "Fine. Fine. Just be careful alright?"

A small smile works itself across my face as I decide to move the conversation onto another topic. "So. How about this spell, huh? Pretty cool, right?"

She seems to ponder for a moment, shaking her head to rid herself of her worried thoughts.

"It is an incredible marvel of archive magic!" The girl beams. "But... isn't it straining you? A communication spell like this should be taking an incredible amount of magic power to keep active."

"Actually... not as much as you'd think... besides. Gravity dragon slayer here. I can eat gravity to regain magical power."

I let out a low click. "Maybe I should have gone for some sort of air dragon slayer magic. That'd probably be safer to eat than gravity"

"Anyways, I'm spending about-" I open another tab, this one being my 'status' sheet. All vital signs are perfect, but I'm not looking at that right now.

Mana: 96.4%

"Eh... I'm spending about... a tenth of a percent every minute or so of conversation? So like... not very much in the grand scheme. The main problem was creating the link, but I recovered from that on the train ride. Plus activating the spell itself took about a percent as well, but regardless, this much magical energy is fairly cheap. I haven't really tried 'eating' much gravity yet, but what I do know is I could recover my missing four percent in about five seconds if I really needed to."

I look back to Mavis. "So, how's fairy tail."

"Well... not much has changed. The guild isn't going to just fall apart now that you're not here, you know." She snorts.

"Eh it doesn't hurt to check... I mean, really... in the two months since I've been in fairy tail we've dealt with... a giant flute demon that can kill you from merely hearing it. A dark guild. And a guild war which is completely separate from the dark guild. What else will happen?"

"I will admit... it has been a bit of a crazy year." Mavis relents with a slightly exasperated expression. "And with us laying down the foundations for the first Grand Magic Games, it could possibly be even crazier."

"True, true." I nod twice. "Have you given any further thought on the events?"

"Besides a naval battle, not much... I have been reading through that book you gave me... quite interesting if I do say so myself. I'm learning things I could have only dreamed of before! Heck, it even gives me a few ideas to modify some of the Fairy Magic. Tenrou Soldiers could use an upgrade! I can't believe that reaper guy managed to cut through them so easily! Some of the concepts in the book could likely also be applied to Fairy Sword and Fairy Sphere as well! It's incredible! Thank you so much, Pierce! I'll cherish it forever!"

"I'm glad you like it." I smile, Mavis beaming grin warming my heart slightly. She's just so cute!

"I've been thinking of some sort of capture the flag event we could do. Maybe some sort of King of the Hill, where the teams compete to be the ones standing in a certain area the longest. Oooh magic dodgeball perhaps?"

She looks over me with a wistful smile, causing my expression to harden, I clearly my throat slightly as I school my expressions.

"Awww... Pierce... I like it when you get excited like that! It's cute!"

I shake my head with a small smile as I look away slightly.

I pause, spying something on the map that is rapidly approaching.

"ERZA! JELLAL! ORANGE DOT. POTENTIAL ENEMY!" I call out suddenly.

The two rocket to their feet, two swords appearing in Erza's hands as the blue haired heavenly body mage gains a slightly golden aura.

I rise to my feet, rotating my wrist as I narrow my eyes.

A figure clears the wall in a single bound-

'Wendy?!'

I shake my head. No. It isn't her.

Close, but not quite.

She has blue hair like Wendy in roughly the same style, and has the same general complexion, but that's about where the similarities end, this girl has pointed elven ears and wears black boots, she has a grey skirt with some sort of dark blue overcoat that has cyan ribbon at the two frontmost longest bits, atop her head she has a headband of ribbon that looks like two very large cat ears...

Oh. Also the next most noticeable thing would be the large 'fuck off' scythe she is holding in one hand as if it weighed nothing.

That's mildly worrying, as some sort of pink mist seems to cling to her body. Her slitted blue eyes quickly scan the surroundings. Her legs tense, eyes locking onto one of the villagers- who had transformed into their true demonic forms as the light of day slowly receded- and grits her teeth.

She explodes from the earth with a near feral sounding roar, rushing for the villager, but she is promptly intercepted by Erza, three streaks of pink slash through the area just in front of the new girl, clashing with Erza's blades as she twirls the scythe.

'oh shit! That's devil-' I slide to a halt behind her and promptly wrap my arms around her, she lets out a surprised gasp, her attack missing the red haired S-Class mage as I suplex the small girl, causing her to let out a small grunt of pain as she rolls across the dirt, but I don't stop there, I roll back and pin her down to the floor.

"Calm down." I demand.

"CALM DOWN?!" She snarls. "I WON'T LET YOU FUCKING BASTARDS REVIVE DELIORA! I WON'T LET YOU! I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL KILL YOU ALL!"

"Calm... Down." I repeat more forcefully, this time making a small purchase. "And listen. I have just purchased your physical strength for one minute. And in this minute... you are going to calm down. My name is Pierce... and I am a Wizard from the light guild, Fairy Tail. We are here to stop whatever is going on in this island. We do not have time to waste fighting each other when our true enemy is trying to revive a calamity. Now. I am going to stand up... and we are going to discuss this like calm, reasonable, functioning adults. Your devil slayer magic would be very useful in the case that Deliora breaks free... which is why I want none of us to be injured or waste more magical power than necessary. Do. You. Understand."

"Why are you standing around filthy demons." The girl growls, glaring daggers past me to the villagers of this island.

"They have been cursed to appear that way." I explain bluntly. "You aren't going to kill them for a little bad luck, are you?"

The girl freezes, her hands lightly shaking, her breathing comes out in short pants

"Are you?" I question again.

Tears begin trailing down her face as she lets out a whisper of sheer despair. "O-Oh... oh god... I've... I've become a monster. I-I-I. I didn't mean to..."

I let out a long sigh as I crouch down, placing a hand on the girl's shoulder. "You're not a monster... your magic is just making you act up."

She lets out a quiet sniffle as I glance to the side. "Mavis. I've got to go."

"R-Right." The girl mutters. "Good Luck!"

"I was wondering who you were talking to..." Jellal mutters mostly to himself. "So... you and Mavis... hn? Honestly I should have expected it. You two are together quite a lot."

"Yes. And I'd appreciate it if you kept it to yourself. That blue haired Phantom Lord water mage is obsessing over me and I'm trying to figure out a way to let her down gently... after getting her some much needed therapy, of course... anyways, you. You don't have any Antibodies for your devil slayer magic."

"Antibodies?" She repeats.

"Basically, much like Dragon Slayer magic, overuse of your magic is slowly turning you into the thing you are good against... a devil."

A black mark flickers across her face as she stares at the ground. "I... I know... but... I don't know any other magic."

"How did you even learn this?" I question with a frown, cupping my chin as I look over her.

She's honestly pretty good at using it. That's interesting.

"I..." Her voice slowly dies out. "I found a tome in a library that I might have... stolen... it's just... after Deliora destroyed my home, I wanted something to help me kill things like it!"

"But you didn't consider the downsides a magic of this power might have?" I hum, causing the girl to look down at the ground dejectedly.

"I could fix your magic if you want." I offer blandly.

"YOU CAN?!" The girl shrieks, rocketing to her feet.

"I can, but not right now." I correct while raising a finger. "I need one thing from you beforehand."

Her eyes narrow slightly. "And what is it?"

"My magic is known as the lost magic, Merchant... which means that if I am given enough jewel I can do things like buy magic, knowledge of locations, items and magics I've never been to, seen before, or used before... or the concept of an item, allowing me to repair them to their peak state regardless of the fact that they are utterly vaporized or shattered into a million pieces. This also extends to me purchasing injuries, which I am then allowed to discard for the immediate healing of said injuries." I explain bluntly.

"I can grant you antibodies. Getting an Antibody, of course will not undo what has already been done to you, but it will stop any further changes dead in their tracks... and the price for me to do this? fifty million Jewel. You get me fifty million, and I will fix your magic for you."

The girl wilts slightly under that amount I listed. "I-I don't have that much- WAIT! You said information, right?! I... I was separated from my sister when Deliora attacked. I know for a fact that she survived though, as she was able to use magic even as I child... I want you to find her!"

"I can do that." I nod once. "Tell you what, Master Makarov has a good heart, he'll see what your magic is doing to you and will likely be willing to give you a loan. Join Fairy Tail temporarily to pay him back, and after you're done, I'll tell you what you want to know, free of charge. Sound fair?"

The girl's eyes water slightly as she brings up a slightly shaky hand to her eye and wipes her tear, a small smile has appeared on her face. "Okay... thank you."

I rise to my feet and offer the girl a hand which she takes, slowly standing up as well.

"Hey, Erza, Jellal, you two cool with cutting her into the mission reward?" I ask as I turn to my two fellow guild members.

"This is an S Class job." Erza frowns. "I'm... unsure of her overall skill level. I have no issues if she pulls her own weight, but at the moment... should she even use her magic if it is hurting her like you said?"

"I can hold on for a little bit longer." The girl with lavender blue hair frowns. "This is important to me. I can take it."

"As for her overall strength." I begin where she left off. "She's about on par with Natsu... however, she is a wind devil slayer... that means she has potentially limitless magical power as she can 'eat' the air around her."

"I've heard that wind attribute slayers regain magical power a lot slower than other kinds, but he is right. I have practically endless energy if you let me rest for a little bit... I can go from none to full in about... ten minutes."

Considering it takes a standard mage anywhere from eight to twenty four hours of rest to do the same... yeah, that's very impressive.

"Alright." Erza relents. "If you're about as strong as Natsu, I don't have any issues with you joining up. Your natural affinity against demons will likely be of great use... do you have anything to say about this, Jellal?"

"You can join." The man nods once. "I feel for you. To have a magic like that... you can have my share as well. Just be careful. This will be incredibly dangerous."

The girl seems genuinely stunned. "You... you don't know me... this is an S class job you said, right? It's surely worth a lot... but you'd give it up? For me?"

"I believe that everyone should be happy... especially as children. No child should be forced to go through such hardships... not like we did..." The man announces as he stares into the sky.

"I'm going to stop you right there." The small girl cuts in. "I am twenty two."

"…" Jellal blinks owlishly.

"You're... older than me?" Erza slowly whispers, looking just as surprised as Jellal.

"Oh." I note.

"My magic has more or less halted my aging. Demons live longer than humans... apparently... Sometimes, they simply don't age at all." She sighs, looking over her body.

*FLASH*

The world is tinted purple suddenly, causing me to turn around and stare into the distance.

A large pillar of purple light smashes down into the ground. There's no explosion as it seems to get absorbed.

The location of the moon drip ritual.

I bounce in place slightly, raising my hands in preparation, I tilt my head to the left and to the right, earning a satisfying crack from each direction.

Erza turns to Jellal. "Blow up the film."

He nods once and begins to cast a spell, a large magic circle forming below him as he holds out his hands.

"Seven stars... pass your judgement! Come forth Grand Chariot!"

With a bright flash several purple beams of light shoot through the sky and collide with an invisible barrier.

*BOOM*

The air shudders as a tinted explosion slowly washes across the sky, above even the clouds.

*C-Crack*

Cracks cascade across the sky, pieces of the Lense seem to crumble inwards and fall, dissolving into ambient ethernano before they can strike the island itself.

"Another strike should do it." I call out as I begin slowly jogging forwards. "They know we're here, now... I'll more carefully observe the map, then."

"Right." The man nods once as with another casting of the spell more beams of light from the hidden stars strike the lens, causing it to break apart and begin to fall, the large ethernano construct evaporating before it can even reach half-way.

Our rag tag group that we have gathered rush forwards into the forest, our expressions promising violence to anyone who gets in our way.

"Now... Let's go stop a demon from reawakening." I grin.

Hey all, it's been a while! This chapter has been sitting about half done for a while... so I finally decided to come finish it. I hope you enjoyed! Also... you can find this fic on Questionable Questing with added images. I find it really adds to the experience.
