Keeping Cool
Frankenstein could hear the AC going when he entered the house, and the loud birdsong meant the garden door was open too.
"Muzaka?" he called out as he changed his shoes.
"Welcome back..." was the muted reply.
About what Frankenstein expected.
When he entered the living room, Muzaka was spread out face-down across the floor tiles, dressed in only his underwear as he panted. Even at a distance, Frankenstein could see how flushed he was, and sweat beaded across his skin.
"I brought a drink," Frankenstein said, condensation still clinging to the outside of the bottle. He'd bought several, just to make sure. Though there were a number of empty bottles lined around Muzaka. Good. He'd been keeping hydrated.
Muzaka groped around for it in Frankenstein's direction, still face down, until Frankenstein placed it in his hand.
"Thanks." Muzaka held the bottle to his forehead for a second, before downing it all in one breath.
"You could have stayed downstairs," Frankenstein chided him gently. It was cooler in the lab than in the house.
Muzaka grimaced, placing the bottle down. "There's no windows there."
It made Frankenstein chuckle, brushing a slick bit of Muzaka's hair away from his face. "I suppose you have a point." There was only so much enclosed space Muzaka could take before he started looking for a way out.
"An' I wanted to greet ya when ya got back," Muzaka said, sliding over to rest his head against Frankenstein's leg.
Frankenstein smiled. "I'm here now, so shall we make you an ice bath?"
"Please."
Frankenstein helped Muzaka to his feet, and they went down to the lab together.
