Morg: Heyo! Here's another shot for the title suggested by xXYoraXx. I hope you guys enjoy it!
~Awkward~
The sound of the doorbell had Amu clutching her towel tighter around herself. She'd just gotten out of the shower and barely had time to properly dry off when the doorbell sounded. "That must be Tadase. Bet he forgot something."
Nodding to herself in the mirror, Amu turned to head out of the bathroom. If anyone else had been home, she would have let them answer the door. Being as it was just her, there was no other option. Besides, Tadase was her best friend. He was also gay. Him seeing her in a towel fresh out of the shower wouldn't matter.
It wouldn't matter. Except, it wasn't Tadase standing outside her front door.
"Ikuto!"
Lifting an eyebrow, Ikuto took in the sight of Amu standing before him. Her wet hair dripping down her shoulders. A small towel barely covering the sight of her naked body. "Well, this is unexpected."
Amu gripped her towel tighter and tried to calm her racing heart. "What are you doing here?"
"I have a note telling me to be here."
Blinking several times, Amu tried to comprehend what Ikuto was telling her. "But I didn't give you a note."
"You didn't?"
"No."
Ikuto let his gaze dip down her body before bringing his eyes back to hers. "Awkward."
Amu shifted again, making sure she had a good grip on her towel, before holding out her other hand. "Let me see it."
Ikuto pulled the slip of paper out of his pocket to hand it to her. He couldn't help but shudder a bit as their fingers brushed. "I can come back later if this isn't a good time."
Shaking her head, Amu took the note and read it. "That son of a-"
"Amu?"
"Tadase is such a fucking idiot."
"Uh, why?"
Without thinking – seriously without thinking – Amu lifted her head to glare at Ikuto. "Because my stupid best friend decided that my crush on you was obviously so pathetic that he was just going to take matters into his own hands and invite you over for me."
Ikuto blinked several times before swallowing hard. "You have a crush on me?"
Amu wasn't sure if she wanted to kill herself, Ikuto, or Tadase. Someone seriously needed to die. The situation she was in was bad enough already. Then she had to go and open her mouth. "I mean, yeah? I thought I was being really obvious and you were trying to let me know without hurting me that you weren't interested."
"I'm interested. I'm so interested. So completely interested."
Amu had to smile at the way that Ikuto blushed a little at how fast the words slipped from his mouth. The little cough he gave and the way he leaned back as if he was embarrassed just made her want to kiss him. "Okay. I'm not sure if this situation can get any worst. So just come inside and wait on the couch while I go get dressed and then we can talk or something."
"Or something."
Amu whipped around to look up at Ikuto again. He was really blushing this time. He obviously hadn't meant for her to hear him say that. "If you behave, I'll give you a kiss."
Ikuto sat down on the couch faster than he'd ever moved in his life.
Amu laughed as she climbed the stairs to her room. Leave it to Tadase to put her in the most awkward situations. Then again, her best friend had managed to snag her the chance to really talk to Ikuto.
Maybe she'd let Tadase live after all.
