Capitulo 1

Emma steps off of the city bus. Boston Mass Transit is ridiculous at this time of day. It was late, and sweaty bodies pressed together just trying to get home. Who the hell holds interviews this late in the day? It was nearly four, she was just in time to get to the interview.

She had been out of work for well over six months. Though they told her it was a layoff, she knew that wasn't it. So here she was once again wearing stupid heels and stockings and a skirt with a blazer for this interview. None of these were hers. Her wardrobe consisted of Skinny jeans and flannel shirts. But this was a corporate environment, and her mom lent her these clothes for the interview. It was an atrocious pink thing with shoulder pads.

As she approached the security guard stationed at the gate, she caught sight of this girl. "Oh, boy, if this is what I get to see every day…" She mumbled to herself. This job could prove to be a severe distraction.

She wasn't the only one to notice the girl's Curves. As she walked up to the Guard, who was also very handsome. The guard couldn't keep his eyes off of her assets. He directed her into the building, then turned to look at Emma and kind of jumped back a little.

Emma sighed internally. You would think she would get used to the reaction she got. At least her hair was brushed back into a bun. She pushed her glasses up her nose and ran her tongue over her braces to make sure her lip wasn't sticking to them and said. "Hi, I'm Emma Swan. I'm here for an interview?"

"Uh…" the handsome guard said. "Yeh, through there… the second floor, Lift is at the end there." He said in some kind of European accent. She couldn't decide if it was Irish or Scotch.

Emma sighed, knowing that this was a lost cause already if she went by the Guard's reaction. She looked at his name badge and smiled. "Thanks, Graham," She said and walked on into the building.

At the Receptionist's Desk, There was another beauty of a girl. Her clothes were… not corporate. If you could call what she was wearing clothes. A top so small that it should be called a bra under a blazer with a matching mini skirt. She was staring after the girl from before. She may have actually flirted a little at that. Emma quirked a brow, then bit her lip as she approached the desk.

Ruby, as the brass tag on the desk said Jumped back in surprise. "Oh my god, you scared me…"

Emma chuckled. "I know, I'm Hideous."

"Oh… No that's not…" Ruby started to apologize.

"I'm here for an interview."

Ruby nodded and signaled to the bank of elevators. "Of course, just take the elevators to the second floor."

Emma nodded her thanks and headed into the elevators. They dinged open just as she approached, and the model type moved to the other side of the elevator as if she could catch ugly. She looked down at her nails and avoided all eye contact with her.

Emma sighed and slumped against the other wall. She just wanted the afternoon to be over already.

When they arrived at the second floor, Emma followed the leggy redhead, figuring she had probably applied to the same job. She didn't pay attention to the signage as she passed and found herself at a sound stage. A scream from a flamboyant woman made her look around. "What is that walking into my creative space?" she asked, looking at Emma in disgust. "Oh, Arielle, please go! Get away before her … " She looked her up and down. "Ugly rubs off on you."

Emma swallowed back some tears and said. "Um, I'm here for an interview."

"Well, you don't belong here. That happens over there through those double doors." the blonde woman said in disgust. She shudders and points emphatically to the direction in which Emma had come.

Emma turned and it took everything in her not to flee the room. That was a lot harsher than she had ever faced. She headed to a busy waiting area. Where she continued to get those looks of shock and disgust. She passed her hands over her hair and bun to make sure she was at least presentable. "Lilith Page?" An Asian woman says holding a folder.

"Here!" The lithe brunette stands up. "You can call me Lily."

"Right, Emma Swan?" The Asian woman then says Emma startles.

"Here!" She said, then took a deep breath and followed the two women toward a conference room.

Once the two of them are seated. Two women walk into the room. One older with half white hair and half black. She wears clothes that are much too fancy for work. It's as if she is trying to overcompensate for something. The other, is a black woman with a Beyonce weave that she can't stop toying with.

Emma relaxes. Sure, she's ugly, but at least she doesn't look ridiculous like them. Besides, she knows that she aimed way lower than she should have with this job. She was totally qualified and she knew it.

"Good afternoon," The women say in unison as they sit across from Emma and Lily. The two women respond in kind. One extra confident and the other nervous because looking over at Lily… Emma knew she was being compared.

The black woman looks over at Lily and smiles. "Lily Page?"

"Yes, Ma'am," Lily answered.

"And you…" The older woman asked, looking at Emma. "What do you call yourself?"

"Excuse me?" Emma asked. That was rude.

"Name?" The black woman asks.

"Emma, Emma Swan," Emma states.

"Ladies, as you know we are looking for the president of this organization's personal secretary. We would like to know why you think you are suited for this job." The black woman asked. Then she smiled at Lily. "Let's start with you Lily. What kind of experience do you have?"

"I don't really…" Lily answers with a coy grin "I've never actually worked anywhere. But I did 6 semesters in Boston College for Accounting." She sits forward in her seat and flips her long brown hair over her shoulder. "I'm here because Robin told me Regina needed a secretary."

"Understandable." The older woman says and looks over to Emma. "What about you?" She looks at her disdainfully.

"Well I've never been a secretary either," Emma squirms in her seat. "The thing is, I studied Economy at Harvard. And as you can see on my CV I graduated top of my class. You can see all of my personal references there." Emma took a slight breath and continued because if she didn't get it all out, they were sure to lose interest in her. "My bachelor's is in accounting then I did a master's in Business Finance. I also worked with the world bank under the vice president of Stocks. He is also counted as my reference there."

She continued to list all the things that she can do like financial analyses, import-export commerce, and many other things. Emma knew she was overqualified just to seek the position of secretary but she had to start somewhere right?

"Well your CV is impressive," The older lady asked. "Why are you applying for such a lowly position?"

"To tell you the truth," Emma stated. "The Job market is a bear and I want to get in somewhere and work my way up. I can do this job easily enough and with great enthusiasm," she said, putting on her best interview voice.

"Of course," the older woman looks at both of them. "Do you speak any other languages?"

"I speak a bit of Spanish," Lily speaks with a smile.

Emma smiled and said, "I speak Spanish, French, and a bit of Italian."

"Are you married, Single?" The other woman asked.

Emma shrank back as Lily answered. "I am separated. I was married to Maurice Brigmann?"

"Brigman!" The monochrome woman said in surprise. "Of course the president of context corp."

"Yes we were college sweethearts and we got married and I left school to marry him. So when we separated, I left and went to Spain. Now I am back and I am ready to get to work"

"I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to ask us that," Emma stated looking at the interviewers.

"Right... we have your CV's we will call you." The dark-skinned interviewer said. Emma rolled her eyes and walked out of the room. She heard one of the women call Lily back. Same story every time. Emma sighed and headed toward the door.

As she stepped out, she bumped into a youngish brunette with blue eyes. She dropped all of her papers and Emma bent down to help her pick up. "I'm so sorry," Emma said.

"Don't worry about it." The woman said. Just then the elevator dinged and out stepped a brunette wearing red-bottomed black pumps and a power suit with a steel gray silk shirt walking beside an older gentleman.

"Who is that?" Emma asked her mouth agape at the complete flush her body made reacting to the brunette."

"That is Mr. Mills the president of the company and his daughter Regina that is going to take over and will be your boss if you get the job."

The two pause and talk to each other before reaching the woman. "Hello," Mr. Mills states towards Emma and her companion.

"Mr. Mills, Ms. Mills." they both say in greeting and the pair continue on their way. Suddenly Regina spotted something on the floor. The brunette bent down and picked the piece of trash from the floor and came up to the woman standing beside Emma.

"What is the meaning of this Tink?" She asked

"Ms. Mills, I…."

"My hallways are not trash bins, if you see trash on my floors pick them up."

"Yes ms. Mills." Tink said, stepping back from the menacing Glare of the woman. Emma stood transfixed looking at the woman that would have been her boss if it wasn't that she already knew she was not going to be hired. She sure did dodge a bullet she thought as the brunette turned away from them and marched on behind her father.

As Emma apologizes and makes her way out of the door, the woman dressed in black and white comes out and asks, "Belle, please dismiss all other interviews."

The brunette Belle turned back and spoke to the waiting room. "Ladies and gentlemen, Interviews are concluded. We will call if any positions come available." Belle shouted. Everyone filed out and Emma's heart sank. She was going to have to return home with nothing again.

Emma rode on her bus and tried to compose herself. She couldn't let on to her family know what was happening to her. She stepped off the bus and headed home. As she entered, a little boy of around five ran out to meet her. "Mom!" he said jumping into her arms

Emma smiled and lifted him kissing the top of his head. "Hey Hen, where are grandma and grandpa?"

"In the kitchen," he said just as her mother came out to greet her. "Hey! How did it go?" the pixie-haired woman said as she saw her daughter.

"Um.. Fine." Emma said walking into the room, "I think.".

"Killian has been calling all day asking about you." Her mother stated.

Emma smiled and her best friend was so invested. "Well we should just wait and see," she said, dropping down to the couch.

"Emma…" Her mother said sitting down next to her grandson who had cuddled into his mother's side the moment she sank down onto the couch. "Are you sure that this Ad company is the best place for you?

"What are you trying to say, Mom?" Emma asked.

"It's just… you aren't the most fashion-forward…"

"I'm not there for fashion, they need my skill."

"Fine." her mother said, "Dinner will be ready in ten." she walked into the kitchen with a sigh just as the doorbell rang.

At the Door, Killian was watching a beautiful woman walk by. He catcalled her and the girl flipped him the bird." Oh yeah, just walk away lass.." He said and sighed.

"Killian!" Emma said, "Smooth as ever friend." She said, slapping his chest and letting him into the apartment.

"Did you see her Swan?" Killian said. "Lesser like you ought to appreciate it." Emma rolled her eyes at him and got back on the couch with Henry. "Where were you all day Swan?"

"At an ad Agency." The mousy girl stated nervously looking toward the kitchen she signaled for him to sit next to her on the couch and covered Henry's little ears much to her son's protests. "I'll give you ice cream after dinner if you let me cover your ears." She murmured to him.

Henry settled and then she turned to Killian. " So what happened?" He asked

"Same as always, they gave the job to a pretty girl," Emma answered.

At High Concept ad offices. Regina and Henry were in Henry's office. The old man looked around. "What happened to my office?"

"I redecorated, don't you like it?" Regina answered, "I figured that if I was going to take over, the office would be more to my tastes." The old man looked around the room a little disappointed. Regina moved to soothe her father. "Daddy, we put all of your things in boxes, they are just waiting for you to let us know what to do with them."

The old man only looked at his daughter, not responding. She was uncomfortable in this silence. her Daddy never gave her silence… so she rushed to fill it. " You said I was going to assume the presidency right away so I just was proactive…"

"No Regina dear, don't worry. It's fine." Henry finally stated. "It's just hard to see your space fully changed. I have spent 35 years behind that desk and now it is all gone." He looked over to the spot where his desk used to be. Now there is nothing, all of Regina's furniture has still not arrived.

Just then, Cruella walked up to them. Regina shifted her focus to the older monochrome woman. "Hey, Cruella… What's going on with my new secretary? Do I have one or not?"

"Yes, ms. Mills that is exactly why I am here." The older woman stated with a big grin. "We have picked your secretary."

"Oh yeah?" Regina perked up at this. "Who is it?"

"This girl, " Cruella stated, pulling up Lily's CV.

Regina rolled her eyes. There was no way. "Are you insane?"

"Miss Mills you must understand that Robin requested for her to be installed as your secretary. And she did 3 semesters in finances and plus she looks good like she belonged in the fashion world."

"Please understand, I don't want some supermodel sitting at my desk…" Regina stated. "I just want a competent and efficient secretary. I also don't need a spy for Robin to behandling my agenda."

"Well, there are others'" Cruella stated. "I can show you if you want?"

"Go get them!" Regina growled.

"Emma, are you sure that they aren't going to hire you?" he said. "You are so qualified."

"Yeah I'm sure," Emma stated. "They practically gave her the job right in my face. And I heard they needed a good face to sit in that post..

"What do you mean?" He asked, "Just to be a secretary there?" his voice went up a little.

"Shhhhh!" She said, smacking his chest and then bringing the hand back to Henry's ears. "Let's go to my room, I'll explain."

Emma let go of her son and then headed toward their shared room pulling Killian along.

"Emma, why are you settling for a Secretary gig?" He asked his friend to drop down to her bed.

"Because I got tired of losing out to the more attractive sect out there. I will do anything at this point. I have a kid to feed Killian,'' Emma said, tired of the same question. But at least with him, she could be truthful. "It doesn't matter what accolades I may have, this face will override everything."

"But what do you know about being a secretary"

"I should have known' they warned us at school about making sure our faces were well put together." Emma said, "All of our school friends are us, and it's all down to looks"

"There is one thing we haven't tried. Killian said.

"What's that?"

"Let's apply to a circus" Killian stated, the two laughed, then quickly sobered.

Emma's face fell. "Oh Killian, our looks will never get us ahead in life." she sighed.

Regina sat in her office with her father, Henry was on the phone announcing to someone that she would be the new President of High Concepts Ad Agency, "I think it's time that I hand the reins over to a new generation. Who better to take the rains than the most elegant young lady I know." He said, placing his hands on her shoulder.

Regina smiled as she tracked her father around the room. "My daughter is looking for a Secretary, and there was a young lady here earlier called Emma Swan," the man said. Regina and he were checking references for Emma. Regina had refused Lily as her secretary because she knew she would be a spy for Robin. Everyone knows Regina's appetite for women was far greater than that for men. She went with Robin out of habit. And Regina's dalliances with the models at the Magazine were well known.

Cruella had told Regina and her father that the only other candidate good enough to be her secretary was this Emma Swan, who apparently was not easy on the eyes. A bit of an ugly reference confirmed her value to Henry, and also the fact that she was not the type that should be representing a High concept Ad Company to the general public.

Regina looked at Cruella and asked. "Is she uglier than you?"

Cruella laughed a humorless laugh and said. "Look, Regina, Her body is great, I think, though she is a bit frumpy. But her face… there is no way. It's awful Regina, she can't be the one to represent you. That's why I didn't hire her."

Regina rolled her eyes and placed her head in her hands. She really didn't want to look at an eyesore every day. She looked at her Father who looked back at her. "Didn't you want someone who could do the job instead of someone who looks the part?"

"Yes Daddy," Regina said. "Cruella, book a meeting with her tomorrow, let's see how ugly this girl is."

Later that evening, there was a cocktail party at the office to celebrate Regina's ascension to the Presidency.

Her sister, Zelena, stood near the elevator with a glass of Champagne. She was green with envy that her little sister had gotten control of the company. Her eyes narrow when she spots her sister surveying her kingdom from a corner of the room.

The Red-headed Mills sauntered toward her sister tossing back the champagne. "Congratulations Regina. Enjoy this party because it may very well be the last." She smirked looking at the brunette sister with a malicious smirk. "The next party may very well be your funeral because you, little sister, are about to run one of the most important Ad Companies into the ground."

Regina smirked evilly, her brown eyes are aglow. "Enjoy as well Zelena, because the next celebration will be all about the gains the company gets when we implement my ideas." She shifts on her heels haughtily "And the numbers are going to be so robust that the impending funeral will be yours, not mine. And I'll send you some beautiful flowers for your gravesite."

"That's enough!" Henry stated gruffly coming up behind his daughters. "We can't be discussing these things here. Then there will be leaks to the public about disharmony in our company."

"Sorry, Daddy," Regina said looking at her sister who folded her arms and did not apologize.

"Hopefully something survives, we would like to have an inheritance, not ashes," Zelena said, looking around her. "You left the company in the wrong hands, why don't you just burn High Concepts down and leave the ashes in the same Urn my father rests in."

"That's enough," Henry barks, "I don't want to hear about this anymore until the next board meeting when Regina takes over the presidency. Meanwhile, shut up, especially in front of these people Please."

Just then a photographer from page 6 showed up and took pictures of the three Mills' "Regina," Zelena says through the smile. "Make sure you cut this picture out and put it in a scrapbook so you can remember the last time you were happy."

Regina laughed, "Oh Zee, you should definitely do that because in a year I am going to be grinning from ear to ear because I know that we will be in a much better place, and you will stay bitter, maybe a little older and more wrinkled."

Zelena was taken aback. Just then Robin walked up behind Regina and wrapped his arms around her possessively.

The photographer took a picture of the two of them. "Your girlfriends are going to kill you when they see this picture of you and me," Robin whispered in Regina's hair.

Regina laughed. "What girlfriends?" She snuggled him a little." I'm here with you aren't I?"

Zelena laughed. "Oh, sure… you are very nice for the cameras, that's the only time I ever see you two canoodling. It's all for show."

"Zelena, we love each other very much," Robin said walking toward the redhead. "You can't judge what you haven't seen, and she hasn't seen our private chemistry."

"If you want, we'll make porn for you so you can enjoy it," Regina stated.

"What will your model girlfriend say, Regina?" Zelena stated. "Admit it, you are gonna miss the vagina and that is something Robin can't give you." Regina rolled her eyes. "I'm leaving, I can't stand looking at my sister knowing she is going to destroy what my parents have built."

"Hurry Zelena, you have to get back in your coffin before sunrise," Regina stated dryly then walked away.

As she exited Zelena's presence, she ran into her best friend Jefferson. "Hey… there are a couple of girls waiting for us at the studio."

Regina sighed. "Jeff, I am going to be a married woman. I am engaged!"

"Yeah I get it but you aren't married yet," He said. "I know you agreed to marry that man for his vote so that you could become president, but that's over now. You have the vote."

"Jeff, that's not the only reason," Regina said with a sigh. "I'm going to marry him… cause I love him." Jefferson began to laugh. He threw his head back hardily and laughed with his entire body. "Jeff, stop laughing! I am about to take on tremendous responsibilities. I can't live like you, flitting from flower to flower like a deranged bee."

Just then a tall blonde flamboyant woman entered the party with a gaggle of girls. 'Regina, is it true?' The blonde asked.

"Is what True Maleficent?' Regina asked.

"Are you getting married?" Mal asked, looking intently at Regina and Jefferson. "Oh my god it's true… we lost our Regina ladies." The girls moan in sadness. "No matter congratulations." Maleficent moves to hug Regina and she stepped back. 'What's the matter? Afraid people will think you're gay?"

Regina scrunched her nose for a moment that was never her concern.

"Are you kidding," Jefferson defended. "Gay or straight, she just doesn't want to be seen cheating on her boyfriend."

At Emma's house, Killian and she are still having a conversation. Emma reads that Regina and Robin's family own the magazines. She had thought High Concepts belonged to only Henry Mills and his family, but apparently, the Locksleys were also involved. The Google article also stated that Regina Mills and Robin Locksley had been together for two years and were to be married. The article showed a picture of creative director Maleficent Dracon and
Regina, smiling brightly. "They all look so beautiful and happy. Emma said with a sigh

"Hey guys," David, Emma's father said. Emma looked at her handsome father's face and wished she had half his looks.

"Hey Dad," Emma said. She wished she could look like her parents. He looked around at the fact that his adult daughter was sequestered in her room with a man, Killian but a man nonetheless.

He narrowed his eyes at the man and said. "The two of you are here alone?"

"Dad! Henry is awake and Mom's in the kitchen...and that's Killian!"

"Fine…" he said as his daughter pushed up her glasses. He would not have a repeat of what had happened to her. Sure the result was Henry, but no man would ever torture his little girl again. "How was your interview today Emm?"

"Good," Emma lied. "They said they would call me."

"Who did the interview?" He asked

"Oh the head of HR and one of their vice presidents I think." she said with a smile "It's looking promising."

"Just you?" He asked. "And two guys?"

Emma rolled her eyes. "Dad… I didn't interview alone, plus the two women who conducted the interview were very professional."

He nodded satisfied with Emma's answer and walked away.

Killian chuckled behind her, and Emma dropped her head and shook with laughter. "My dad still hasn't gotten over what Neil did to me. He is the only one that thinks I am beautiful, he doesn't realize how ugly I am."

Killian laughed along with her, not too hard though he wished his friend would stop. "So tell me about the pretty one, the one who took the job?"

"Well, apparently she is a friend of the Locksley," Emma answered sitting back on her bed. "What I don't understand is why even interview her, just give her the job. They didn't need to put it out there to humiliate the rest of us. I mean she is kind of qualified. She took six semesters in finance at Wellesley. I am sure that counts for something."

At the party, Regina and Jefferson were surrounded by models. They were all flirting with the two executives, and the two Cads were giving right back what they got. Regina was in the middle of complimenting one of the model's work when Robin came up behind her. The man narrowed his eyes as he listened to his fiancee rave about that woman's assets.

"You know what I really loved?" Regina flirted. "That sexy little shimmy you did.

Jefferson finally noticed Robin and leaned closer to his friend. "Hey, Gina?"

"Hold on," she said to him then turned back to the models. "I tell you it was the best.. What Jefferson?" Regina finally turned to see Robin and pulled him closer. "I'm telling you he loved it. And I don't even feel insecure because My fiance is the best.`` She turned to face Robin. "Aren't you?"

Robin smiled at Regina and turned to face the very beautiful woman whom… who was he kidding, he'd want to get a chance with as well. "Yeah yeah, beautiful. Better yet why don't we have a nude issue with her on the cover? Let's turn high Concept into a Playboy.``

The woman then turns uncomfortably and leaves the conversation. "See you later," Jefferson said, turning to face the man. "Robin! I didn't congratulate you on landing this magnificent creature."

"Thank you, I am, however, going to take this opportunity to extend my condolences," Robin responded to Regina's best friend. "I am so sorry your wing woman has lost her wings." Then he took Regina's hand off of his elbow. "You can let me go, Regina, the clinging is excessive."

"What do you mean?" Regina asked, letting go as requested. Jefferson took this as his cue to go and excused himself to get some drinks.

"The models are going to start thinking you are in love with me." Robin admonished.

"Robin," Regina said. "Of course I love you,"

"Do they know we're getting married?" he asked.

"Possibly, you know models, they don't care if you are taken. They know they can have you, so they go for it." she sighed, "What do you want me to do Robin, do you want me to go around to everyone and say hey guess what I'm getting married like some giddy ditz? That's so not me."

"Why not?" he stressed, "They have to find out at some point, quite a few of them swear they are the only ones you experiment with and are going to die when they see our wedding announcement." he rolled his eyes. "That's if we get married."

"Of course, we're getting married!"

"When? Regina?" he said angrily, "you said that you would marry me when you got the presidential gig. You wanted our relationship to be stronger than you wanted to steer your life in the right direction, but the date is still a lofty idea."

"Fine…" Regina said and pulled Robin to a Deis set up at one end of the photo studio. "Hi everyone your attention please," Regina said finally standing in front of the group. "I need silence please just for one moment, she pulled Robin alongside her and reached for a microphone someone was to hand to her. "Good evening, I want to thank all of you for being here, investors and vendors alike, for being here to celebrate Hi Concepts magazine's 30th year and the retirement of my father Henry. But I want to take this moment to share a very special announcement. In September, I am marrying this dashing man right here.'' There was a round of applause and some not-happy models looking up at the brunette. "If there is an ordained minister I'll do it right now"

"We can make it happen in five minutes." someone in the audience shouted and everyone laughed.

They began to chant Kiss kiss kiss, and Regina turned to face her fiance and kissed him. "Well, this is going to be all over the press. I hope you are satisfied." She whispered to him.

"I will never forgive you if you are just playing games with me," Robin said behind his smiling teeth.

They kissed again more deeply as the applause went on.

Later at Emma's house, Emma's cell rings as she descends the stairs with Killian.

She looked at the unfamiliar number and answered. "Hello? Yes, that's me…"

Her mother and father look very interested as Killian picks up a giggling Henry and swings him around.``tomorrow morning at nine? Yes, I'll be there! Good night!"

"So?" her father asked.

"Did you get the job?" Her mom said excitedly.

"I don't know yet," Emma said, breathless. "But they need me to come in tomorrow to talk to the president of the company."

"Then you got this in the bag Emma," Her mother said. "Because you are not about to go meet the president just to hear that you didn't get the job."

Her father scrutinized the situation and something didn't sit right with him. "What kind of job is this Emma."

"Uh…" Emma started she couldn't tell me she was just going to be a secretary. With her qualifications, her father would object. But she needed this job "It's like an executive assistant to the president."

Impressed her father smiled."very well,"

"Oh I am so happy for you my girl." Her mother said and kissed her daughter's cheek.

Emma looked at her little boy that was enthralled with Uncle Killian. Once her parents went away Killian looked up at his friend. "Why did you lie?"

"My dad would blow a gasket, he didn't fund my schooling for me to be some secretary are you kidding me?" Emma said with a shake of her head. "If I get the secretary job I will say yes, then I will see what I do with my dad. I have bills to pay."

Killian shook his head and then smiled. Emma couldn't help but smile at him. She had a great feeling about this.

The next morning, Regina pulled Robin into her office and leaned against her desk."I need to talk to you."

Robin looked at his girlfriend and sat ready to listen to what she had to say. "What's going on?"

"You will not insert Lily into my office." She stated.

Robin rolled his eyes and leaned back. "Regina, if I wanted to insert her into your office I would never have made her go through the interview process… Please! The position is for you to fill."

"Robin," Regina interrupted. "All you want is to fix your friend's financial problems while at the same time placing a spy to report things that I may or may not be doing from my office. So that you are aware of all that I do who I speak with everything."

"That's not true," Robin said then stood, "And even if it were, what would she find? Didn't you say you would change when you assumed the presidency? You told me when you accepted my proposal that I didn't need to worry about any pretty little thing that would turn my head. That you would be a reformed woman. What are you afraid of?" He stood there staring at her for a moment. "So what are you going to do?"

"Robin,' Regina said in defiance. "I don't like being watched twenty-four-seven."

"She is the best candidate that showed up," Robin stated. "She went to 6 semesters at Wellesley, she's beautiful, has class, she is a trusted friend… there isn't anyone better."

"You are wrong about that," Regina said walking behind her desk, "There is one, and I already scheduled her for a second interview." Regina sat at her chair and leaned back, opening Emma's dossier. "Of course, she didn't do 6 semesters at Wellesley. But, she graduated top of her class from the Harvard School of Economics."

"Oh wonder woman," Robin stated.

"Well, I don't know yet, I want to meet her, if I don't like her, then I will choose Lily. okay?`` Robin was about to protest but she interrupted. "Okay?"

Robin sighed and stood up, leaning over Regina's desk and kissing her lips. "Fine, I am sorry."

Regina smiled and picked up the phone to ask for Emma to be sent to her office. When the door was opened and the two in the office saw Emma. Regina cringed but attempted to look beyond the pimpled mousy-haired girl with bad bangs and dark-rimmed glasses. The young woman smiled and her braces nearly blinded the brunette.

"Please, come in," Regina stated taking in the woman's dated attire. What was she thinking? With that slicked-back hair. And super tight braid in her mousy brown hair. The thick black-rimmed glasses, and that dated floral dress that hid her body. Well, Robin won't have to worry about me cheating on him with this one.

"Thank you," Emma said and walked into the room and had a seat at one of the visitors' chairs.
