From the Beginning I've been a die hard Eren Yeager fan. I mean who wouldn't? He's perhaps the most fleshed out character of the series seeing as he's the damned Protagonist! In 2019 when the Manga ended I was disappointed that Isayama had butchered the ending. I felt that Eren Yeager hadn't got the ending he rightfully deserved. He fought, he raged and more importantly he defended. I understand somewhat of why Eren lost, Isayama would've been grilled for a Genocide of the World but I still feel he could've ended it in a less tone deaf way. The Simp Rant was wholeheartedly unnecessary. This is inspired by Back to the Beginning. I attempted to continue where the Author left off but I felt as if I should wait until AOT was officially complete. So here's my wish fulfillment trip. Enjoy, unless you're an alliance supporter, in which case EW.
Peace, a truly foreign feeling to Eren Yeager. Infact, It is one that was unnatural, down to his very being. Eren Yeager did not feel peace. He raged, He raged against the Titans, He raged against the Marley, He raged against the whole world. But now she's attempting to restrain him, to get the ending she so desires.
Even as his head was sliced off, even as his lifeblood seeped from his head, even as she attempted to subdue him through the chains that bound him Eren Yeager RAGED. Through it all he desired to live, to be free, to forever stand vigil as protector of his people, to right the wrongs committed against them all those years ago. That burning hunger for Freedom, for Vengeance burnt through.
Eren Yeager has always been a Beserker. He rages at injustice, and in any other moment in time it would have been the wrath of a dying man, but just this once something answered. That Scenery faded. It faded beyond the Paths, beyond the rivers of fiery waters, beyond the never ending salty expanse, beyond even the expanse of time.
He was whole again. His body reformed to before his head was severed and his fate sealed. Before he freed Ymir and in his folly released a slavemaster as cruel as her own.
'Eren Yeager, what would you give to persist once more?' a voice, out of the bright expanse that surrounded Eren enounced. Looking around he could see the body to the voice not, until the brightness faded, and the scenery was made clear.
He was in a cave, a cave with a single Euonymus bush, light aflame in white, yet unharmed. A billowing wind emanated from the bush, as if a force holding him back, yet with his own will he stepped forth, each step as if the world was upon his shoulder, and he touched the flame. It did not burn him, instead the flames danced upon his hand before returning to the bush.
"What are you?" he asked in wonder. His eyes gleaming almost childlike in wonderment.
'I am the God of Karl, Ezekiel, Willelm, and Grisha, I am Arufa and Omeka, the Beginning and the End. I ask you once more, what will you give to persevere once more?'
"That's impossible, I am already dead, all the while claiming to be the God of Ancient Eldia…you're telling me that you're-?" Eren was cut off as the bush glowed once more, a golden gleam peering through to the room, the winds which once calmly billowed throughout the room roared to life, throwing Eren to the floor.
'Who made the land unto which you walk? Who made the the legs you stand upon now? Who maketh the dumb, the deaf, the seeing or blind? Who granted the world the power of the Titans if not I, the LORD? Now go! Defend my people and deliver to them what was once stolen!' the voice raged once more. Eren's panic caused him to reach around blindly, as he was lifted up in the air and the winds calmed.
'Oh Eren, I shall most certainly be with thee when you return to then, nor shall I leave you unarmed...' and Eren fell.
And fell.
And fell some more.
Until finally he hit a breaking point, and the world around him snapped.
As Eren glanced lamely as the sight around him was almost too hard to believe. It was that day long ago, not the one where all changed and the world he had was destroyed, but the day where some of his strongest comrades came into his life.
Jean, Connie, Sasha, Historia, and Floch just to name a few. But just a look around his regrets were in the crowd. Daz, Ruth, Thomas, Mina, all people he let down. All people who died because he was weak. And when he gained the strength to protect his precious people, they banded together to protect those who sought their death. Even then in that ceremony long ago he saw the destruction of Eldia.
So it is true then, I have been transported to the beginning of the 104th Training Corps? He looked about until finally he saw Instructor Keith Shadis, the former leader of the Survey Corps and his father's closest friend. Eren had done him dirty so to speak, causing his eventual death. Perhaps if Eren had explained to him the truth of the world and contained the more extreme so called Yeagerist things would had ended differently? Perhaps even to say that Shadis could have been swayed to his side?
As his gaze fell upon the rest of the training corps, he eventually found Reiner, Bertholdt and Annie standing next to one another, but this time another was with them. Standing nestled between Annie and Reiner was a face he knew but a person he did not. A copy of that Jaws Titan Porco, until it dawned on him. Originally Ymir had ate Porco's Brother, a boy named Marcel and stole his titan from him and the Marley. Has that changed? Why does he still live?
Another piece for the Marley makes things grim for Eldia, especially seeing as Eren knew next to nothing of his personality. Ymir found him uninteresting and unimportant so Eren could not have explored his personage as the Founding Titan, afterall, from the very moment of his being born he had been a slave.
"What's your name Maggot?" Shadis yelled at Jean, the poor boy straightening up in place. I could change things for the better, now I have a full nine years until I was forced to use the Rumbling, perhaps I can change the outcome?
"Jean Kirstein from Trost District, Sir!"
"And what did you come here for?!"
Jean stood locked in place for a moment, as if deciding on what he had wanted at that moment. "To get into the military Police Brigade…" He paused for a dramatic moment, "And to live in the Interior Sir!" He said, holding his salute a little tighter. Ah, yes, I had forgotten about his original reason for joining the military…
"I see, you wish to go live in the Interior, don't you?" Shadis said, almost like a snake coiling up to strike.
"Yes sir!" Jean said, not realizing he had sealed his own fate. Shadis struck fast and violently, a quick headbutt to the face, Jean crumbled to the ground like a horse with a broken leg.
"HEY! WHO GAVE A RAT LIKE YOU PERMISSION TO SIT DOWN?!" Shadis Shouted, before kicking Jean in the gut. "You think someone who folds so easily would be allowed in the Military Police Brigade?! You damn weak buffoon!" Shadis said, before Jean slowly got back up and made a almost slouched salute, all the while Eren chuckled to himself, though not unnoticed.
"YOU THERE RUNT! WHATS YOUR NAME?!" Shadis howled, Eren Saluted before speaking, something he had down to a tee back in his military days. "Eren Yeager, Sir, from Shingashina District, Sir." he said calmly, his face not betraying his emotions, it had taken a while to learn, but it was a skill quite useful in his stay in the Marley.
"And your reasons for joining the Cadets?" Shadis said, recognizing Eren and his name.
"To avenge my mother and father, and retake the Walls and what lay beyond, Sir."
Marcel Galliard was a man of focus, of sheer will.
But at this moment he was quite hungry.
He was beginning to regret following Reiners plan of infiltrating the Military, they had been standing out here for half an hour, even Marleyan officers didn't do that, they were prompt and on time and never allowed even a second to be wasted, this was overkill.
The Instructor was dead set on scaring the cadets, which Marcel could care less for. The less of them that complete the training the less it would hurt to betray them.
Marcel was no fool, he knew that no matter how hard they tried they would doubtlessly forge bonds with these people, that no matter what they do they will need to betray them, to return to their family.
In what way was this fair? This burden which he had been forced to by his demanding mother, whom had attempted to get his brother into this as well was not something he had wanted. He knew what she was doing, she wanted the prestige in the Internment zone, to say that her son was a Warrior of the Marley, who would defeat the 'Devils'.
What a joke. His father wouldn't had allowed it, he hated the Marley and wouldn't had stood for it.
But he was gone now, and nobody knew what had happened to him, but Marcel knew, He had seen the Marleyans take him. He knew his father was dead, and hadn't confessed to whatever rebellious activities he had done, seeing as he and his family still breathed. But that was then, and now Marcel is a Warrior of the Marley, had must play his part.
"You there, with the Pretty hair, Whats your name Cadet?!" with a mental sigh Marcel pittered out "Marcel Galliard Sir! From Maria, Sir!"
This had better work, or by Helos Marcel would strangle Reiner to death.
