In Odym, Lea/Midnight Hope was found in the forest unconscious with her Blue Lantern brothers and sisters checking on her.
"She appears to be still breathing, but in some sort of trance-like state," Saint Walker observed, feeling her forehead.
"She must be having some sort of vision," Sayd suggested.
"Hopefully, Lea will awake and explain how she got here so suddenly," Ganthet said.
"One of us will have to stay to ensure she doesn't wake up freaking out." Sayd suggested.
"I will happily do so," Saint Walker volunteered.
"And I, as well," Brother Warth added.
"Same here." Sister Sercy said.
Ganthet couldn't help but smile. "Very well. Proud of you all." He said.
Just then, Lea/Midnight Hope looked troubled while sleeping until waking up suddenly.
"No!" She gasped, sitting halfway up and sweating a little...along with breathing heavily.
"Sister Lea, you have awakened." Brother Warth said.
"Thank the spectrum, we thought you were a goner." Sister Sercy added.
"Oh, man...I feel like I just experienced one of Hal's test pilot flying procedures," Lea groaned, feeling her head before covering her mouth in barfing. "Speaking of which...what just happened?"
"You somehow appeared on Odym out of nowhere." Saint Walker said.
After hearing that, Lea slowly remembered what happened. "Wait...that weird white blast hitting Earth! I was helping Hal and the others create a shield around the planet that did nothing. When it hit me, I must have blacked out and ended up here somehow."
"That would answer a lot of questions. We, too, took notice of the white flash. But when it hit us, nothing happened." Sercy added.
"Hal and the others think it has something to do with that Blackest Night Prophecy thing and Scar," Lea explained, although a little unsure. "What I don't understand is where the heck did this white blast come from. And why teleport me back to Odym when it didn't do anything to you guys?"
"Scar?" Sayd overheard. "You're saying Scar is setting up the Blackest Night prophecy?"
"That's what I've heard. And this connects to my missing uncle...Kyle Rayner," Lea admitted.
"Kyle Rayner?! He's your uncle?" Sayd asked, very surprised. " But...I thought he was dead."
"No. Kyle is alive, and he's out there...somewhere," Lea stated, looking serious while trying to get up yet almost fell if Saint Walker and Brother Warth hadn't helped keep her balance. "He disappeared the moment he first discovered the Blackest Night prophecy. And I'm going to do whatever it takes to stop Scar's twisted plans in getting my uncle back."
"Do you think Scar could be responsible for that flash?" Warth suggested.
"I'm not sure. All I know is that it's only a matter of time before the real danger comes," Lea stated.
Just then, a familiar Necrofriggian adult came to view.
Lea remembered the Necrofriggian. It was Fro'Gieon!
"Lea Thompson?" He asked.
"Fro'Gieon? What are you doing in Odym?" Lea asked.
"A white flash has made my son Little Chill disappear. I figured he could be here with you." Fro'Gieon replied. "Have you seen him?"
"What?! Little Chill's missing?" Lea exclaimed.
"I am sorry, but we have not seen your son," Ganthet stated.
"And even if he were here, we'd sense his presence around this planet," Sayd added.
"So, if Little Chill is not here... then where is he?" Fro'Gieon asked with worry.
"I don't know...But I'm gonna find him and bring Little Chill back to you," Lea assured, going up to Fro'Gieon. "Have you told anyone else about Chill going MIA?"
"Yes, I asked the Plumbers. Your boyfriend's grandfather told me to notify him because he said his grandson also disappeared the same way as my son." Fro'Gieon added.
"WHAT?!" Lea exclaimed in shock.
"Have there been any leads or clues you can recall before Little Chill's disappearance?" Saint Walker asked, trying to help calm the human girl down.
"There is. When Little Chill disappeared, he was glowing some kind of color. It looked orange." Fro'Gieon explained.
"Orange?" Lea questioned, suddenly getting a bad feeling.
"Yes," Fro'Gieon said. "Isn't that what a Lantern is represented as?"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! What does the Orange Lantern Corp have anything to do with Little Chill's disappearance?" Lea questioned, feeling she's missed something here.
"Before arriving here, Magister Tennyson told me that those who were hit by the white flash have been teleported to the main homebase planets of thr Lantern Corps," Fro'Gieon explained. "He even asked me what color Chill glowed before vanishing."
"So, this baby Necrofriggian could be on Okaara. Not Odym." Ganthet suggested.
Midnight lightly groaned, facepalming. "It had to be Okaara...All right. Not a problem. Saint Walker, if you want to, I could use your assistance in accompanying me in this mission."
"I would be happy to aid you on this journey." Saint Walker said.
"Cool. Thanks," Lea said, before looking at Fro'Gieon. "Stay here with the other Blue Lanterns. Walker and I will check out Okaara and look for your missing son. All will be well."
"Very well. I'll inform the Plumber Magister that I found you." Fro'Gieon added.
"Be sure to let him and Green Lantern Hal Jordan know that I'm all right. And I'm on my way to Okaara in finding Little Chill," Lea said, already flying up and ready to leave with Saint Walker.
"Take the ship. It's much faster," Ganthet advised.
"We will. Thanks," Lea replied.
Saint Walker and Lea went into the ship Ganthet was talking about and they prepared for their course to Okaara.
"Good luck." Ganthet said, waving goodbye.
Of all the things that unknown energy did, I was not expecting it to send me back to Odym. I even had this weird dream of my uncle Kyle...at least, I think it was him. I can barely remember.
One thing is for sure. I knew that I wasn't going to turn my back on Fro'Gieon. Despite the fact that I'm going to the home planet where Hal was corrupted into an Orange Lantern that gave me nightmares, it wasn't gonna stop me in doing the right thing. I only hoped that Little Chill hasn't gotten himself into trouble...And that Ben is okay somewhere. Along with everyone else.
Speaking of Ben…
Ben woke up, feeling a bit dizzy after being hit by that flash. He then sees his own hand on his face has changed; it looked like it has armor or something. He slowly looked at the rest of his body... it completely changed.
"What...?" Ben muttered, only to see a reflection across whatever room he was in. "Is that...me?"
He walked closer to his reflection. He sees himself in an awesome-looking uniform. As much as it looked so cool, it's still pretty freaky that he doesn't remember wearing that.
"Okay. I'm definitely not in the Rustbucket...And this doesn't look like any sickbay quarters found in the Plumbers base," Ben said to himself, as soon as he noticed the symbol on his chest and the familiar accessory on his right hand finger. "Wait a minute..."
He then sees on his right hand: a green ring. But it wasn't just any ring... it was a Green Lantern ring.
"You've got to be kidding me..." Ben muttered, starting to freak out on the inside to a point of finding an opened window that revealed he wasn't on Earth anymore. "Oh, man..."
The outside wasn't Earth or even a Plumbers' Headquarters. He sees green energy all over and multiple alien creatures as Green Lanterns. It wasn't Earth.
"Is this...Oa?" Ben asked, recalling Hal and Lea mention about the home planet of the Green Lanterns.
Just then, he suddenly heard a different voice. "Yes, it is."
Ben jumped in reaction with a small yelp while covering his head from being spotted. 'No, no, no, no, no! Can't let anyone here see me human! They'll pummel me for sure!' He thought to himself, wishing he had something to cover his face.
Just then, around thinking that request, the crystal he got from Lea glowed green like his ring and Ben felt something envelop his head.
He looked at his reflection and saw that he has a special helmet on.
"Whoa..." He muttered, seriously surprised that was expressed through his visor eyes.
"Sorry. Forager did not mean to scare new Green Lantern," the same voice responded, revealing to be a giant purple bug creature in the same Green Lantern getup. "Forager only came to welcome new Green Lantern to Oa and show the way to the training hall."
"So, I am on Oa?" Ben asked.
"Yes. New Green Lantern has heard of Oa before?" Forager asked.
"You could say that. I, uh...well, I've heard it from a few friends of mine that have talked about Oa," Ben replied, being honest yet trying not to blow his cover. "I just never expected to be chosen as a Green Lantern so suddenly or be here."
"Neither has Forager or other Lanterns. New Green Lantern appeared out of nowhere." Forager added. "But Forager was assigned to greet new Green Lantern regardless."
"Right. Thanks," Ben said, rubbing his neck. "So, um...What now? You show me the way out and I go home from there?"
"Not exactly. Forager is supposed to show new Green Lantern around Oa while also going to train with teacher Kilowog," Forager explained, already leading the way. "This way."
Ben didn't wanna be rude, so he played along... for now. He walked while Forager was flying.
"New Green Lantern does not know how to fly?" Forager asked.
"As you said, I'm a newbie. I don't know how any of this works," Ben admitted. "Just got here. Is it like some sort of command or something else?"
"Something like that. Green Lantern powers are powered by Will. Even flying." Forager said. "That's how Forager did when Forager got Forager's ring."
"Huh," Ben said, only to stop when seeing he's already on the edge outside. "...Looks like I got no choice, then."
Ben concentrates, as he starts to float in the air. Then he tries to fly, which was a little slow at first.
'Come on...If Hal and Lea can do this, then so can I,' Ben thought, ready to take flight until he felt himself fall. "WHOAAAAAAHHHHH!"
"New Green Lantern?!" Forager asked, growing worried, and was about to fly down and save him.
However...a few seconds later, Ben was already flying up like a natural.
"WOOHOOOOOOOO! Aw, yeah! This is awesome!" Ben exclaimed happily, doing different flips and circles around Forager. "I've never flown by myself like this before!"
Forager smiled. "Forager knew new Green Lantern can do it," She said. "Well done."
"Thanks, Forager," Ben said, only to pause when facing the beetle Lantern. "Forager is your name, right? You keep saying that a lot and I wanted to make sure without offending you."
"Forager's name is Forager." Forager confirmed. Ben then realized she talks in the third person. "New Green Lantern has not offended Forager."
"That's a relief," Ben sighed.
"Now that new Green Lantern has gotten the hang of flying, Forager can finally show new Green Lantern the way to mentor Kilowog," Forager explained, already flying forward with Ben following next to her. "By the way, Forager has not asked new Green Lantern's name yet. What is new Green Lantern's name?"
Ben shrugged for a moment. Thankfully, his helmet covered most of his face. "Call me..." He then remembers something he dreamt about when he was 10 and tried something. "Ultra...X. Yeah! Call me Ultra X!"
"It is nice to meet new Green Lantern Ultra X," Forager replied. "Forager cannot wait to see what Ultra X can do after the training hall."
"Then, let's go." Ultra X said, following Forager.
Although having fun with all of this, Ben still had to figure a way out of this charade before getting caught. 'Don't worry, Lea. I'll find my way back home and to you.' he thought to himself.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Indigo Tribe then created a portal located on a certain planet in the Forgotten Zone for herself to cross.
"Remarkable..." Indigo-1 muttered, amazed at how much Razer and Aya have rebuilt this dead planet since the last time she saw it.
Indigo-1 then sees how they even had some technology powering up Volkreg. She then sees a docking bay being built. "Hmmm... They seem to be rebuilding the planet so it wouldn't be just their home, but a home for others who lost their planets." She said to herself.
The leader of the Indigo Tribe then spotted Razer and Aya at their main house. She decided to fly down and land.
Razer and Aya were enjoying themselves. Seems they were resting after rebuilding some portions of a city in Volkreg. "Razer, I am detecting Indigo-1 has arrived to see us."
This caught the Red and Blue Lantern's attention. "The Indigo Lantern? What would she be back here for?"
Indigo-1 landed on the home of Razer and Aya and walked towards them. "Red and Blue Lantern Razer, Aya. It's been a long time." She said.
"Yes. It has been a while," Razer agreed.
"Welcome back, Indigo-1. Would you care for some refreshments?" Aya offered.
"No thanks. I wish I had come here in a more positive note, but I am afraid I bring terrible news," Indigo-1 stated.
"What is the problem that requires our attention?" Razer asked.
"I need your help in Nok. One of Lea's cousins has been transported there where she may be experiencing memory loss of being too one of compassion," Indigo-1 explained. "And unless we snap her out of it, she might end up stuck that way forever."
"So, her subconscious is joining the compassion spectrum." Razer recapped.
"That's one way of putting it. But I have no intention of taking an innocent child with no criminal actions," Indigo-1 explained, assuring that this wasn't her fault. "Hal and others are already handling something bigger connected to the situation. You two are all I could think of to help me. So...will you have the compassion to help me get back Lea's family member?"
"For Lea, anything," Aya added.
"Yes. She helped me reunite with my love," Razer said, taking Aya's hand caringly. "Lead the way."
Indigo-1 grinned, and she float in the air, ready to fly. "Excellent. Follow me."
And so, Razer and Aya followed Indigo-1 where she created a portable for them to be at Nok quicker.
To Be Continued…
Now the real fun begins. So, yeah. Ultra X is No Watch Ben Tennyson. I told you I had big plans for him. Ask Ben to be a Green Lantern and you shall receive. Just wait until you see the construct surprises I have in store for him. I think you're all going to like it.
